The menu choices are all so tempting! I had a BBQ brisket grilled cheese sandwich, it was amazing. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The young man delivering the meals was also cheerful and on the ball. Our adult son who lives in the area goes once a week. It’s a hidden gem.

Everything was great about this place. We originally were going to hit up Pam’s bun on the run because I haven’t been there in over 30 years. Unfortunately, she was sick, but on the much brighter side, we found this GEM! The service was wonderful the garlic Parmesan $.75 each wings were delicious. The side salad was nice and crisp and my drink with the basil Hayden‘s toast old-fashioned was absolutely amazing. I do think they forgot the cardamom’s on my drink however, I did not miss it seeing how I have never had it with it . Will definitely stop back in if I’m ever in the area again.

We had reservations for the Prime Rib night, never having been there before. From the moment we walked in, it was a wonderful night. Terri’s friendliness & attentiveness paired with the bangin cocktails & prime rib perfection sealed our return as soon as possible🥩🥃 Do yourself a favor & experience it all.

Great place, good food, good service, nice atmosphere, fair prices. There regular menu is good and the specials are outstanding, very creative. Staff is wonderful, friendly, courteous, fun place. They just started Prime Rib Wednesdays it was great, good menu, cooked perfectly at a reasonable price. We recommend Public House 23 to anyone.

Had dinner tonight, the Prime Rib special was excellent. Add it to my list of favorites the wings, and the best mac and cheese. Every seat in the house was full. The service was great. Definitely will be back and highly recommend them.

I absolutely love this place, the atmosphere the bartenders and staff , always above and beyond. I always want to go to a diff restaurant and then i find myself right back here because it makes me happy. Food is great and they are always accommodating. I just laugh a lot whenever I come here ♥️ Love all of you thank you so much always appreciated forever and ever!

Our server Atlas was amazing. He made sure everything was perfect. Our whole party had a wonderful time and a big portion of that was due to Atlas. We will definitely be back.

We go there all the time for burgers and wings which are always amazing but they just started prime rib dinners on Wednesday and wow it was so good. Jenny was our server and she's always amazing

After a wonderful day at Omega Institute, we were famished and checked Yelp, looking for a restaurant off Taconic. Since it was Labor Day and close to 9pm, our choices were limited until Publick House 23 popped up. We went, we ate, we loved it. Friendly service, great vibe (though the music overhead was loud ). The drinks and the food were tasty. I had a Publick's burger and fries, and ate it all, and my friend had a chicken sandwich and tater tots with enough left to bring home. We'll definitely recommend it to friends who live in the area.

I love this place ! Nice bartenders good service and the food is on point. They have big portions too so it balances out the price. I would never expect this place to have solid food as it does but I really enjoy coming here for drinks and food !

Typical bar restaurant vibe. Staff is super nice. Walked in around 3:30 pm on a Monday. everyone was sitting at the bar and nobody sitting at any of the tables. We sat where we wanted and were given menus. We ordered a French onion soup, and pierogies for appetizers. Then got a burger and a fried chicken sandwich. I was excited to fries with the burger and onion rings with the chicken sandwich. Iced tea for our drinks. Everything was really good. I would stop here again if I was ever in this neighborhood.

Good bar food, good local and regional beers, what's not to like? Was predictably busy on an NFL Sunday but service was still good. Reasonable prices as well.

Stopped at 11:30 on a weekday with a party of 6 co-workers for a quick lunch. Three of us ordered salads. Delicious! So fresh and the ingredients were combined perfectly. Huge portion, couldn't finish. Other people had wings and sandwiches and there were no complaints. A bit slow service or maybe because we were in a rush to get back to work. Also, some weird folks drinking at the bar at 11:30. Overall, however, I recommend this place for the great food.

Food & drinks were fabulous! Their fires were particularly excellent. Nice vibe, cozy little sports bar. I took off a full star due to the lousy waitress. The buss boy was on point! I wish he was our server.... Yeah our waitress sucked we waited what felt like 20 minutes for her to take our bill. I was so missed while I waited, I drastically reduced her tip. She still got the 15% but I usually tip much better.

Food was good service took a very long time we joked that no one was on an actual "lunch hour" hahaha

Stopped here on a whim coming back from a soccer tourney in Albany. This would be my spot if I lived here. Great service, awesome burger! Football on tv.

This is a quick review because we only ordered the wings to go. We had the PH mild wings and they were delicious. Large, meaty wings with nice flavor. 10/$13. We also ordered the Maple Cajun and Chile Sweet and they were very similar in taste which was disappointing hence the 4 starts. I would order the PH wings but hot in the future!!!!

We stopped in at the Publick House on our way home from the FDR presidential library. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a great Reuben, my husband had fish and chips, and our friends had burgers which also were excellent. Service was very sweet. If we lived in the area, we'd definitely frequent Publick House 23.

Pretty solid food plus they host some fun events. I've gone to the Publick House for trivia and had lots of fun. You can go and get drinks and have food while having fun. I would say that this place is not necessarily for everyone though. A lot of people smoke right outside of the entryway so if you are sensitive to smoke, then this may not be the place for you. The food is pretty solid but the star of the show is the fries. They are nice and crisp and salty. Perfect.

You instantly feel goodness and the energy when you walk into Publick House. The bar was busy but tamed. First impression, the crowd fit their motto; publick house is where good people gather for great food and an even better atmosphere. We started with the original publick wings - medium. They were bomb.com! I could see why they won BEST HVNY WINGS. I love that they have so many flavor options. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try others. For my main, I went basic with the publick cheese burger, pepper jack cheese and bacon. This burger is far from basic though. A classic done right. Cooked perfectly to order and warning, the french fries are highly addictive...so good!

I had buffalo wings and french onion soup, both excellent. Service was great, beer was cold. Looking forward to coming back

Food is good - however I'd consider portions small; particularly fries (especially for $16 plus tax). This is the second time in a row that the French fries have been what I'd consider minimal for a bar food restaurant. See picture - food was untouched - you can see in comparison to ketchup packets.

Wings are always a let down, descriptions don't match what you receive or expect, over cooked, "hot" is melt your face off, mild has no flavor

It's taken me a couple of days for me to calm down to write this review so please take it for what it is just my opinion and visit this place to make your own judgement not off this story! I just had to let the management know. So on Sunday night my buddies wanted to go to this place but only if the curly hair waitress wasn't working because of her bad service. So we walk in the door in front door and stop at the sign that said please wait to be seated. As we were looking for the curly hair waitress a blonde waitress with a red birth mark under her eye, says can I help you! My friend says I might just want beer but my friends might want to eat. She snapped back with a reply, well your going to have to get your own beer at the bar. I looked at the crowded bar and 5 of 6 empty tables. I said I'm hungry I'll take the table next to the beer board so I can read it without having to turn around and proceed to sit down as my buddies followed. As I'm headed for the table the waitress asks if we're gonna get something to eat, my friend points at me and says he might want something, so the waitress grabs a menu and throws it at me as I sat down and asks if she can get me anything? I just sat down I haven't looked at the new beer list or the menu yet. The waitress walked off in a huff rolling her eyes. I asked my buddies was it me or did we get another waitress with a bad attitude? My one friend said no it's her, because as we walked in the door she told me to get my own beer at the bar like she didn't want to serve us. She comes back to take our order and asks is there anything else? I said yeah maybe but it's hard for 4 of us to order something when we only have 1 menu, she walks off i with a mean face and brings back 3 more menus. We order and get our food and she asks if we need anything else with food in my mouth so I wave my hand and choke out the words nothing for me so she runs off again, while my friends said what about us we would have liked another beer! She just kept running away from our table to hang with her coworkers at the bar. We realized after 10 years of hanging out with each other we just got the worst service ever, liked she didn't want to be working there, even worse the the curly haired waitress before her so for the first time in my life it was decided not to leave a tip! Not even a very low or insulting coin tip! We wanted to make a point we won't tip for horrible service. What topped off the night was as we made it out to the parking lot the waitress came running out of the restaurant and yells excuse me guys did I do something wrong that you didn't leave a Tip on an $83 bill? So my friend starts out by telling her yeah my wife is in the service industry and the service you gave us was the worst I've ever seen! Especially when you tell me to go up to the bar to order my own beer like you don't want to do your job and waitress tables, and I chime in yeah like getting 1 menu for 4 people then trying to rush us to order and walking away when we try to order more drinks before we all had a chance to re order friend 3 chimes in and says and what's up whlith the rolling eyes and sarcastic tone? Her response was I was in a rush because the kitchen was closing soon. We said you never told us that or we would have ordered food faster but that doesn't justify walking away in the middle of reordering drinks! Her response was if you can't afford to tip you shouldn't come out to eat! And walks back inside the restaurant. So my friend opens the door and yells back in you shouldn't feel entitled to a tip with your bad attitude and rude service)! We couldn't believe the nerve of expecting a tip after being rude the whole night without even trying to get sympathy from us by telling us how tired she was. We plan to go back just to show a waitress we can tip well for someone who does a half way decent job and at least tries to do your job without a sarcastic attitude

Friendly staff, very welcoming. Food was wonderful. Wings were coated with a buttermilk batter, crispy on the outside hot and tender on the inside. The french fries were outrageous, also crispy on the outside came hot to the table. The burger, though done medium was perfectly juicy. The salad with the salmon was outrageous. Highly recommend

Great place. We're all from long island....great people good food and staff we've been here 3 4 times very a disappointment.... everyone friendly and inviting

We ate lunch here recently for the first time. The food was very good with a wide variety of choices, esp. wings and burgers. The service was excellent! Melissa was a pleasure to talk to and took care of all our needs. The ambiance is nothing special, and on a colder day, it felt cold-both temperature wise and not so inviting. However, we will be returning because the meal and service were so good. Great to have discovered a nice place in town.

Love this place but god dang am I hot right now!!!!! No AC in this place . Gotta drink a cold beer on a Friday night to survive this joint. Please fix so I can come back!!!

Fourth chance gross!!!! Last visit I didn't even bother to leave a Review. The server said the "meat loaf was her favorite" YUCK, was served off the grill like a char broiled hockey puck. It was literally black. "That's how it's made" before the waitress flounced off. So last night I was sick. Ordered chicken tenders and a BOWL of minestrone soup. No veggies and no meat all supper salty soup and pasta. $6 for a tiny container. The "Tenders" were so crunchy I thought I needed to visit my dentist today. The fries were BEYOND salty. Gross. I tried 4 times!!!! Everytime was a disaster. I really try to support local places. Unless you're drinking ... Avoid this hell hole. Seriously!! We have good places in PV . THIS PLACE IS BEYOND GROSS. WTF IS WITH ALL THE PSYCHO SALT???? YUCK.

Food price / quality rating 8.5. Atmosphere is pub / tavern style, lots of wood, antique reproduction bar, large center island. Good size & well chosen tap list. We split a "Roosevelt's Rough Rider" burger. Was delivered as promised. The menu is pretty middle of the road with some innovative spins. Service was excellent even though a sudden rush buried the bartender who was serving the tables also.

Good Food , Good service and friendship is how best to describe the Publick House 23. A locals place that is comfy for all.

Outstanding! We live in the area, but surprisingly, never went there. Friends of ours recommended it, so we gave it a shot. The reviews on Yelp were very supportive. Mary had the chicken tenders and loved them. I was happily surprised about the choices of wings. It was the largest selection I've seen in ages. I chose the dry rub with jerk seasoning. Can't wait to go back, and try another one. The ambience was old fashioned saloon, down to the black and white tile-ish floor. Our server was very helpful. Plenty of parking. Kind of a unique ( strange) location, but GPS will get you there.

I'm not usually one to review a place, quite often I feel it becomes a place to gripe about a place and it's very selective. However I am posting my first review of the Public House tonight, quite honestly after being a regular customer for over 15 years... (Since they opened) First off, if you've never been there, you have missed out and need to go. The food is phenomenal and their staff exemplary. So at this point someone reading this might wonder why after 15 years I'm choosing to post a review. A valid question I might add. This year has been a bit melancholy for me, getting into a "holiday spirit" has been lacking. All of my children and subsequently my grandchildren are living out of state now so the holidays seem like a "regular Tuesday in New York. I decided to go to the valley tonight to watch the parade and see if that might spark some joy for the season. I went into the Public House prior to the parade and found one of their"taglines" to be correct. "Camaraderie"... I saw folks I knew, no surprise, however the place is so festively decorated that if you can't find the"spirit of the season", you're not looking. The place is so decorated it's a sight to see. I stayed for two hours, chatted, laughed and left before the parade because I found what I needed.. I'm thankful for the Public House for a great many things, but now I add one more, reminding me that family is indeed not always about blood and that joy is always around, you simply need to see it...

I will only comment on the old fashioned fried chicken. Amazing! Loved it, big boneless pieces of chicken deep fried with some tasty spice. The mashed potatoes were also delicious and the gravy was chunky and tasty and well just fantastic. Had this during the lockdown so only encountered one person but she was so friendly nice and efficient. Maybe 2000 calories lol, who knows. I could only eat half.

We've never had bad food from Publick House 23. And I think we've tried everything on the menu! The BEC burger rocks! As do the Casino wings. Whatever you order you're sure to be happy you did.

Ok.... I've been an executive chef for 20 years from pretty much around the world and then all over NY. I live and own my own restaurant 5 minutes from this place and, I have to say I'm really annoyed with myself that I haven't tried them before because, it's the first meal I've had in a very very long time that was just exceptional! Alex and Dana c are the girls that helped us this evening and they also were exceptional! I have to say I'm very pleased with the food and the service! Not a single mistake! Excellent excellent! We will be patronizing this place any time I don't feel like cooking! It's that good ! I even called them to tell them that! Just try it and you will see!

Had the mahi mahi special tonight with spinach, pineapple salsa and Jasmine rice....DELISH!!!!!

We stumbled upon this place while visiting a farm in the area. And what a great find it is!!! First off, our server was kind and courteous. Our food came out super quick. Definitely order the garlic parmesan wings. Just like the menu says, they're prize worthy. The Harvest salad was absolutely delicious. It was probably one of the best salads I've ever had while dining out. The fried chicken sandwich was outstanding. Crispy fried white meat chicken with tangy cole slaw. The food came out of the kitchen quickly and hot. The only thing I'm sad about is that I don't live closer to enjoy this awesome restaurant. Don't hesitate. If you need a quick bite, a causal spot with friends, or a place to grab a drink, then Publick House is your go to!

This is a an average place to have a casual drink. The bartenders are always friendly but the drinks are weak and the food isn't always the best but it's not bad for bar food! Wine glasses are small, and mixed drinks are weak. It seems if you like beer and sports this may be your spot. It's clean but the bathroom floor and walls could be way cleaner. I think with some small improvements this place could easily be 4 stars.

First time to the Publick House and enjoyed some very tasty wings and pierogis. Service very good, drinks good.

We live in town and get take out from publick house often. Everything we've ordered has been great, quick, with friendly service. My one complaint is all the styrofoam! For the price point I would think they could spring for paper take out containers. It may seem like a small detail to some but it makes me not want to order from here even though I like the food.

Delicious wings, hands down. We love to find places that do them good and you can add this to the list! Our favorite flavors were the Mammosers and the T-Bone. However, they were all great. Lots of TVs to watch the Sunday games. Easy, light atmosphere with friendly staff. We had Alicia and she was wonderful. We also had a guest who had the salmon. She stated it was excellent. (Rice could have been a hint better, as per her). Lots of great beer on tap, check the wall for the current offerings. We rate wings - here we had an average of 4.6 out of 5. We will be back!

Great food, good service, nice glass of wine. My only complaint is it is very loud in there, especially of you go in between 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. They have a bar filled for happy hour and the tin ceiling bounces the noise., They need to take down the ceiling,, put some drapes over the windows to absorb some of the sound. Go back to giving a dozen wings instead of ten. The prices of wings have come down.

First time going to Publick House, it was Slamming. My Wife , younger daughter and myself we there last Wednesday for dinner and a pint and the service and food was very good. We will definitely be back .....

Great restaurant and such a fun atmosphere!!! They let my kids watch the dog show on tv in the middle of a giant playoff game. Great welcoming people!

I've always enjoyed the food here. It's a little overpriced but I'll pay a couple bucks extra if I know it's going to be good. The floorplan in here is the problem. It's one big, open space with nothing to damper the acoustics and so it's unbearable loud, which is fine if you're out drinking or watching a game but it can really ruin a meal.

This place was pretty good, I had the smoke house burger and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. I had the onion rings with my burger and they were probably the best o rings I've had in a long time. The service was great, attentive but not over bearing. The atmosphere was low lighting, but not too low. There is a large bar so it can get a little noisy, but overall it was a good place. We will be back.

Dropped in just before 10pm on a Wednesday night for a beer or two. The bartender was attentive and helpful with solving my hunger problem. She explained that even though the kitchen was closed, they were still frying wings and showed me the large selection available. The Original medium wings were very good and the beer selection had the standard domestics with some local craft brews littered in for variety. There weren't more than a dozen people in there at any given time but that was to be expected for the area and night of the week. I'll be back to try the full menu and check out the live music they have on some nights.

Don't understand the positive ratings. My food was the worst. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but they couldn't even pull off French .fries.As for family atmosphere just a bunch of over the hill old guys ogling young waitresses trying to con them out of tips.

Best burger ever (one of the biggest too). Great draft and bottle craft and brand beer selection with friendly & attentive service. This is the kind of neighborhood pub that is sadly vanishing, but fear not if you're in Pleasant Valley, Publick House is keeping the faith...

This is my second time at the Restaurant. The first time was a mid-week lunch about 4 months ago with my parents and we weren't impressed because the place was empty but the food took forever to come. The food was not bad, but not great. Since my husband wanted to come check it out, I decided to give it another shot. We came here on a Thursday night for dinner. While they did have a highchair for a child, they don't have cup with lid, so just make sure your kid don't accidentally knock over the cup like my did.... Or bring your own. There are approx 15 or so beers on tap, had all the basics like Bud, Sam Adams, Stella, Guinness, and some other local brews, not bad. We ordered the portabella mushroom sandwich with shoestring fries, Cajun mahi sandwich with steak fries, and the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. It took a while for the food to come out and the place was only 40% full. The Cajun mahi sandwich was way too salty but the fries were good. Portabella sandwich was good, but nothing to be raving about. My fried chicken dinner was yummy with crispy breaded coating. It is a decent local hangout with average food but there are so many other great restaurants in the area, this won't be on our list to return any time soon.

Great wings, great service, great bar atmosphere! This place is right down the road from our new house and I can't wait to become regulars- and to try all their amazing wing flavors!!

Don't live here and just visiting.... Came in for glass Of wine and some food... Probably the worst service I have ever had in my 31 years and could tell she didn't want to even wait on me. Just saying... Happy thanksgiving! Be thankful to everyone remember that!
