"The first thing you notice when you walk into Publico is the open kitchen. If you look closer, you’ll see an open hearth and a spit with pork shoulder roasting for the al pastor tacos, both of which are immediate signs that you’re going to eat very well here. This Delmar Loop spot serves Latin-inspired small plates like tostadas and arepas, along with a few larger dishes like a whole roasted fish. Finish with the flan, and then claim a finders fee anytime someone else brings up going to Publico." - Jen Maylack
I have had this on my list of places to visit for the past two years. This is a great foodie spot, but other than the ceviche, nothing blew me away. Everything is fresh and creative but shareable dishes aren't quite as shareable; they could use a bit more of the "fixings." Every cocktail was excellent, even ones I took a risk on. Only rating three because IMHO, it's not worth the price. Server was attentive and gave recommendations, but she literally read the menu to us. I might go again to give it a second try but there's nothing I'm craving.

Publico is a Mexican fusion restaurant with creative tapas style small plates. The menu had a great assortment of fresh ingredients with options from oysters and whole grilled fish (to share), grilled vegetables with inventive sauces to chicken liver arepas and lamb tamales. We had an incredibly knowledgeable waitress who happily described the original menu and craft cocktails. I don't find myself in St.Louis often but if I happen to be there again I would definitely make an effort to dine here.

Brisket taco was very good, and the guacamole was wonderful. Some other things could have been better (like the coffee) I enjoyed the 1919 cocktail (it’s a little sweet, but I liked it). Service was good.

I must not be a fan of tapas in general. I think that it's overpriced for small portions. As far as tapas goes this was probably the best experience but I was still under impressed. The guacamole dish was pretty good and an ok size and the duck was pretty tasty but it didn't last and at 20 bucks it didn't really impress. I was not a fan of the baby octopus but my wife seemed to like it. It's difficult to account for taste. The dining atmosphere was really cool. I do like the open fire and the tree sculpture.

This place has delicious food. I enjoyed everything that I ordered. This not your typical restaurant. They suggest that you don't order entrees but treat everything on the menus as tapas. They also don't have any gas in the kitchen. They only use an open fire so they bring each item out once it is ready. This makes for a great group experience. I would also highly recommend asking the waiter what each item on the menu is as it is pretty difficult to know what you are going to get based on the menu item names. All in all this place is amazing! A little expensive but definitely a place where you can treat yourself!
