Miami’s 9 Best Key Lime Pies

"Like the beloved grocery store’s subs and fried chicken, the key lime pie in Publix bakeries has a loyal following. Leaning more toward the sweet side, it still has a pleasant tart kick and a nice crunch to its crust, possibly attributed to adding crushed toasted almonds." - Alona Martinez

This Publix is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good selection and aisles are well stocked even on weekends or around rush hour. Plenty of parking and both the 8 or 207 bus stop right outside.

Big and you get almost everything you are looking for.

I’ve tried to get a sub from this location twice in the afternoon, and both times there was no bread available. I asked the staff, and I was told there wouldn’t be any more made . no option to wait, no explanation, just “we’re not making more.” This is not what I expect from Publix. Normally, they’re on top of things, but this kind of slacking is disappointing. Especially when it’s the same person both times giving the same answer with no urgency to fix the issue. Do better.

I witnessed the most racist, discriminatory behavior today in the checkout line in your store today. The Hispanic cashier was friendly with the a young Hispanic woman checking out, then a young Asian woman was next in line. What transpired next was discrimination at its finest. The young Asian woman had just a few items in her basket and sat the whole basket on the conveyor belt. The cashier dumped out the basket rudely on the conveyor belt and ignored the young Asian woman when she asked a question. When it was my turn as a middle aged white woman the cashier was again pleasant. Do better Publix. This store needs HR to visit and do some observation and training and maybe even letting your problem employees go.

TOOK 30 MINS TO MAKE ONE PUBSUB. I love Publix but we just had the WORST experience with Allanays at the pub sub station. At the beginning I thought that she was just moving a little slower which is understandable. However, when we told her we were in a rush she ACTIVELY went out of her way to take longer. The lady next to her made 3 sandwiches and 2 salads in the time it took her to make 1 italian sub. She put three pieces of spinach on the sub and we kindly asked her to put more and she looked at us and very rudely said I thought you were in a rush. Then we said it doesn’t matter just please give me the sandwich as is and she refused to give it to us. She had her hand reached out behind the counter and said grab it. The sandwiches were already paid for. Definitely calling the manager this afternoon.

Dear Publix Manager or Customer Service Tea], I hope this message finds you well. I recently visited your 311 SW 7th St store on December 5 2024 and noticed an issue I wanted to bring to your attention. While there were several customer complaints waiting to be addressed, I observed an employee using their phone during this busy time. This gave the impression that customer concerns were not being prioritized, which was disappointing given Publix’s reputation for excellent service. I understand that everyone has busy days, but I believe addressing this could help improve the overall customer experience. kind regards, Valence Wright, COO Chief Operating Officer of JP Morgan Bank

I just posted my phenomenal unicorn cake for my daughter’s second birthday. I ordered it last week and it was ready just on time and always delicious. Thank you. You Publix at Miami River!

I’d like to recognize Manager Karina and Staff for their outstanding customer service in coordinating a large bakery order for 3,000 Miami-Dade County employees. She ensured the entire order was ready by 7:15 a.m., as requested, and her attention to detail and professionalism contributed greatly to the success of the event. Thank you, Karina and team!

Yelp
I long for the days where Publix was about service. Although this is not true for every location, this particular one always treats people like cattle. I was at the express lane and the cashier took off to do something else while people waited. There was only one other lane open and it was going much faster. When I questioned the manager, he said "one minute, sir." Apparently the only thing he was not able to do was actually manage. The only reason I did not walk away and leave all my purchases on the conveyor was because my family was waiting at home for dinner. Otherwise, someone was going to be restocking all of my items. The new slogan should be "where shopping USED to be a pleasure." AVOID THIS LOCATION.

Yelp
Despite frequenting the Brickell area, I had never stopped at this Publix until the other day. The pro this location has is free parking that doesn't require validation. That and you can take an elevator to go and shop. The location itself is small. Cramped even. The aisles made me feel slightly claustrophobic. That along with the design and I was happy this isn't my usual Publix. Anyway, I went in to get some last minute party supplies for a BBQ we were having. Water bottles, a vegetable platter, and some baked goods at the bakery. The lady who attended me at the bakery was very nice. I think her name was Zabrina? At any rate, I'd stop here if in the area, but not much else. This is better than the other Publix location in Brickell but not by much.

Yelp
A lot calmer than the other ones in Brickell and the underground parking is perfect for when it's raining.

Yelp
The customer service desk are morons. For an hour I called every 10 minutes and asked if this was the pharmacy. Instead of saying yes or no like a human, I was immediately transferred to a dead line. Each time I even said "don't transfer me!" I only go there for the pharmacists, but if I can't reach them, I might need to change. Hopefully the store manager will see this and use it as a teachable moment.

Yelp
I go to Publix for most of my grocery i love there buy one get one free not only that but forget subways or jimmy johns subs Publix hands down has the best subs sooooo gooood!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely ridiculous. The three times I have been here, it is a 20 minute wait....for one person that the pharmacist is attending to. HIRE MORE PEOPLE IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHAT FOR HALF AN HOUR!!!!!!

Yelp
Meh, this store isn't the largest so therefore they simply don't have the selection you'll find at many of Publix' other stores; the deli and bakeries aren't very large or extensive here, etc. I may stop at this location if I need something fast, as it's easy enough to jump off the I-95 and drive into this Publix' parking lot a block away from the highway. That said, if I'm looking to do my regular shopping or need something that may be even slightly specialized or I think they may not carry, I'll go elsewhere as chances are they won't have it here.

Yelp
If you live in Miami proper, and frequent the Brickell and Downtown Miami areas, you most likely zoom by this Publix as you head down 7th Street on your way home. This is the Publix that is right under the expressway. You may not have noticed the proximity to I-95, but if you park here, in the cramped parking lot (let's get that out of the way), you can see the pillars that hold I-95 going above your head. It is a significant feat of architecture, but also a scary situation. After all, you don't want any cars flying over you. Once you make it inside, you may see that this Publix is a bit messy. I am not sure if I got there on the off day, but it looks like Black Friday all over again. Then again, it may have to do with the clientele. This Publix, like all others, has a bakery, deli counter, meat, vegetables, fruits, everything all supermarkets have. The selection is the same as all the other stores, but this one being a smaller location has a more limited variety. With that said, I still feel that you can find everything you need to prepare a normal meal. The beer and wine selection is good also, and there are lots of employees who won't mind helping you if you need assistance. The clientele here is different than at the other Publix supermarkets. It is a mix of Little Havana and Brickell. I guess it just goes with the demographics. Finally, this location is very convenient, being on your way out of the downtown area. The entrance to the expressway is a block away, and certainly you will find what you need here. I'm glad I stopped by. Next time I need to make a quick stop, I know where to go.

Yelp
This publix has a serious homeless situation where they go use the restroom as a shower or go and get the cups you use when you order your sandwich combos I'm sorry to put it this way but when you go to get groceries and there's a homeless person next to you that smells you wouldn't feel good about it either

Yelp
Super bad experience with the "manager". While I was trying to cash money, very unprofessional to be a manager, so bad educated. I had to go to the publix by the roads. What a difference!! I'll probably won't go to this place ever

Yelp
This Publix serves the most disgusting sushi I've ever had : the rice is uncooked and old, the fish pieces are tiny, and the overall flavor is old. I was standing by waiting on someone to help me , and even though a manager walked past me she did not bother to ask what are you waiting for ?

Yelp
Kirla who prepares the subs is very nice. Ana opened a register for me to checkout. Great service!

Yelp
VERY, VERY disappointed. Walked in on my lunch break and got a number at the deli (only one person in line before me), and stood there like an idiot for 15 minutes without anyone even raising their head to say "Hello". After getting frustrated, and saying something, the guys tells me "no English, online order now". Really??? Another clerk decides to walk over and help the client behind me without even asking for the number. I worked for Publix for many years, and this is not how we used to get trained on customer service. Clearly the deli manager at this store is NOT his/her job in evaluating and training their staff. I own a large firm a few block away, and will make a point to NOT shop at this location ever again, and tell all my friends, employees, and clients to do the same.

Yelp
I visit this Publix 3 o 4 times a week and always get a bad customer service and terrible actititude, now I have to go the buy my grocery with Amazon.

Yelp
The worst service ever at deli meat, 1 person attending 10 people....waiting for ever plus all machine so dirty, shame Publix !!! Hire more people !!!!!!!

Yelp
VERY disappointed. Nancy in the Deli displayed horrible customer service that I've had ever experienced at Publix. Nancy is very rude and uses her knowledge of not speaking English to get by. Unacceptable. I was at this location for an hour waiting for a 20 piece of chicken, only to take this home to my family and the chicken wasn't up to par to Publix standards. 2 stars is for management for taking care of the cost of the chicken. Ruined dinner that night #EPICFAIL

Yelp
I have to say this is not the Publix I usually go to, but I was around the area and decided to pass by. Well I have to say I was hungry so decided to order a sub, and Kira was amazing, she was so nice and helpful. The Sub was so delish, I also went by the sushi stand and they didn't have the one I wanted so Su saw me that I was looking and she asked me which one I wanted, well she started making it for me and told me to wait for about 5 minutes. Well the sushi as well was so delish. Again Kira and Su were both amazing and the customer service at this publix is just outstanding, everyone was so nice including employees on the floor and cashier. Very pleased.

Yelp
This review is for the pharmacy: I've been going to this pharmacy for the last 4 years or so. Within the last year, I had the pleasure of having AJ as my pharmacist. He's so informative in any and all questions I may have. Never made me feel uncomfortable for asking any questions. He totally goes above and beyond for his customers. The best pharmacist I had ever had the chance of having. This Publix is so lucky to have him. Keep up the good work, AJ! You're the best!!!

Yelp
Disappointing. Came in at the take end seafood was out. Grant we'd you want to leave but your not yet closed. It's 8:30. He did not address me and the crab that was out and I was looking at he bagged up continued to not acknowledge me. Then I go to the sub area gentlemen made the worst sandwich I've had from publix. Old bread and seemed upset he had to open up additional veggies for my sandwich.

Yelp
How management can make a positive or negative impact? management has definitely changed at this location, as the stocking levels have been completely reduced. Walked in ready to buy eight (8) bottles of $57.99 p/bottle champagne for a party at home this evening and unlike previous times when they had ample supply... they only had three bottles up hidden in a counter... very disappointed with this Publix. Still a Publix fan but please address this situation before the new Whole Foods down the street takes your market share.
