Publix Super Market at Summerhill

I want to take a moment to recognize JD for the exceptional service he provided on the floor this Saturday. He was stocking goods when I asked for help finding a specific item, and he went absolutely above and beyond. Not only did he tell me where the item was — he walked me directly to it, made sure I picked up the correct one, and even helped me understand the differences between the various brands. That level of care and attentiveness is rare. It wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t dismissive — it was thoughtful and genuinely helpful. I’ve witnessed management-level staff not demonstrate the same level of engagement, and JD exceeded expectations without hesitation. Thank you, JD, for your professionalism and kindness. That kind of customer service truly makes a difference.

It's a pretty good location but of you want to skip the hassle of ridiculous parking/cruise-ins on the upper deck, park on the lower level (it's much easier). Some people just don't care about their neighborhood and it shows. You can see how tired staff are at the end of the day (cleaning up messes, reorganizing and dealing with arrogant customers).

First the manager of this location has the best customer service attitude, she is kind, funny and always energetic. Coffe is good pastries are tasty. I also bought a cute pair of earrings from there from a local artist. Lots of room to sit and work, only caveat there’s a back room where teenagers end up hanging out and sleeping.. for hours. That’s not a good look my advise, walk the area from time to time. Service also happens in the sit down area

I live across the street from here so it's our main grocery store - everything about this store is great EXCEPT the deli/sandwich counter. I realize they must do a high volume of sandwiches, but I've never had a sandwich ready on time when I've ordered in advance. And I'm not talking about 5-10 minutes either, I'm talking about 45-60 minutes late EVERY time. If the sandwich isn't ready on the rack when you arrive you have to go knock on a special side door where I assume someone is frantically assembling sandwiches. Typically, someone tells you the sandwich is coming out soon, but then they never check in with you again so you end up waiting around for a very long time. Again, everything else about this store is great, good customer service and very friendly, but the deli/sandwich counter needs massive improvement.

It was not a good experience. My daughter and I wanted heroes (that’s a sub in Bklyn lingo) for lunch, in the line the first person was so aggressive and short and not nice. ( No one was smiling in this camp) Second line lady had eyelashes so long I don’t think she could see what she was doing . The last young lady must have been new because number 2 was ordering her around… the only thing positive about this visit was my sandwich I had for lunch. I was looking for watermelon in the cup so o went over to the place they are stocked , There was 2 folk stocking.. so Im looking for my choice the guy stocking was looking at me like… what you want over here do you see us doing something… mind you I saw them and made sure I wasn’t in their way.. So yes I’ll will visit again and hopefully I will have a better visit… The star is for the sandwich.. I never got the fruit…

I had an excellent experience at the Publix Summerhill location that truly restored my confidence in great customer service. After a poor experience at Publix location , STAR went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. They were friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to ensure I was taken care of and treated with respect. STAR’s professionalism, positive attitude, and genuine care made a stressful situation much better. This location is a great example of what customer service should look like, and STAR deserves recognition for turning my experience around. I will definitely be returning to the Summerhill Publix because of the outstanding service I received.

I was in midtown on my way home and needed a store that I could access quickly. Googled Publix and realized this location was on my route home. Perfect. The store is made with the new design. The deli is almost at the front door. The food smells so good as soon as you enter the building. They know what they are doing. My goal was to scoop up some toilet paper and water. That didn't stop me from going uo and down the aisles. Store was well stocked. Everything was neat. I found some seasonings. Thats a plus. Also I use a motorized cart. It's nice that they had them available and charged. Not all stores have them. The cashier was pleasant and helpful. She asked me about the flavor of ice cream I chose and gave me some nice suggestions. I would gladly return.

Quite sincerely the best customer service I experienced during my time in Atlanta. Like a husky reprieve shelter in an ice storm. These folks are passionate! Salute to you who crush hours with a smile. Also, fresh produce and a great assortment of whatever you want. Easy location. Excellent made to order fare. I say go, even with trepidation. 5 stars

To prepare for my party this Publix was the closest and I have to say it's super nice and clean I also ordered chicken online - the staff were so nice - I was able to ask if they wouldn't mind checking on my order since it wasn't in the designated pick up area and I was in a bit of a time crunch and he was so willing to assist You can't go with the hot bar or subs either - the lines were long hunni - the people know what's up!!

I placed an online catering order 2 weeks ahead of my corporate event & the order was not ready when I picked it up & had to wait an additional 40 minutes. Once I got to our boardroom to oversee the setup, the food items were tossed together in a messy & presentation order. The accompanying sauces were in containers with torn labels & one without a safety seal. On a good note, the employee ringing up the catering order was engaging, pleasant & understanding while we had to wait. A very disappointing catering order for almost $300 & will not utilize this Publix location again.

this Publix deli is the most unorganized and slowest deli in Atlanta. The management really needs to pay attention to their deli team because the time it takes to prepare one sandwich is unbelievable. The deli staff is usually in conversation with other people behind the counter or around the counter and not paying attention to the long line that is building up or the customer in front of them, when they are working there person preparing sandwiches another is walking around unsure of what to do and how they can help. There is absolutely no awareness or concern that efficiency and speed are two characteristics that are missing.

Overall, the Summerhill Publix is an absolute gem of a grocery store honestly just ties the entire neighborhood together as it was very much needed in the area - every aspect of the shopping experience at Publix is top-notch! Whether you're a local resident or just passing through, make sure to at least visit this Publix and indulge in a delicious pub sub!

Love this new Publix! Glad this popped up since the area is such a food dessert. My only gripe with this location is the lack of cart carousel when you park at the lot parallel to Fraser St. Other than that, this location is always kept clean and I'm sure handy for the student housing across the street. Perfect for tailgate needs too with GSU football playing across the street.

SALAD / SANDWICH / HOT BAR LINE Never a terrible product, but it's always moving at a snail's pace. Imagine a world in which Publix MGMT could see that there are just a few "rush hours" for the salad / sandwich / hot bar line and appropriately staffed the counter for those rush hours. 3 people, alternating those workers with other able bodied workers throughout the week so that no one gets burnt out. Instead, that line sits understaffed while 3 or more people huddle and talk near the entrance... I'll even help out: lunch & dinner. That's it! So, it's not even a few rush hours. it's just the lunch and dinner times (11-1, 5-8). Schedule people better and supervise to ensure customers don't spend their entire evening waiting for a sandwich. I arrived with 3 people in front of me at 7, and left at 7:35. I immediately self checked my items and walked out too so I was not exactly lallygagging. The staff feels it too. The (1) woman working was basically doing cardio haha. Come on! Help them to help us to help you. I'm just one person with an opinion though!

Not a complete fan but, with a little work the place will be a superstar. Although, the Pharmacy staff and a couple of other employees are very nice and are people oriented; they have gone above and beyond my expectations!!

Oh how i miss my HEB in Houston, but Publix Summerhill is my new ATL local Grocery fling! I have shopped at multiple Publix in the Greater Atlanta area, and have things i like/dislike about each. This Summerhill location has a nice layout and seems to be easier to navigate. The staff are friendly and helpful.. The Deli line was, as usual...long...but seemed to move quicker than others i have experienced. Looking forward to making this my go to store!

Publix sandwiches are the best, but do you really have 45 mins to stand in the line and wait for them to shuffle around and go back and forth in the back between each sandwich? Probably not. People often just give up and leave. I should have done that. When it was finally my time they told me that they were out of tuna and out of chicken tenders. Lame.

I like going to this Publix. It's new, clean and there is no criminal element around ( that I can see anyway). The store is mostly well stocked & the staff is always friendly. The deli & seafood section is 2nd to none.. all that being said... the prices are SKY HIGH !!!! ..and not just this Publix. They all are. I guess you just have to weigh ur options.

Nice and new Publix but it's still in a dicey area. Let's just say the area is still being gentrified. Give it a few years. Recently purchased a new home in the area, close to the beltline, the beacon, Summerhill, the zoo.

This store is in a convenient location in an area previously not served by a full grocery. The people that work there are courteous and happy to see you. The premade food selections are varied and we all picked out something different to try. The deli is wonderful as well. Lucky us to have Publix serving the Georgia State University. Summerhill and Capitol Hill communities.

I'm very happy to have a grocery store at this location, and this Publix seems to meet the expectations I have based on other stores. It gets busy on weekdays during rush hour, but after being open for a month I still haven't seen the parking get dicey. But once this shopping center fills up, the additional lower level parking will come into play! I will say I've noticed that this store seems to allow dogs? Last time I was there I saw about 4 different dogs inside, none of which had service animal vests on. For me that's a huge plus! Just not something I've heard of in a grocery store before. There is also a concrete (I think) floor that makes loud sounds pretty intense; a screaming child can really fill the whole store. If sensitive to sounds, definitely go during low times.

What a wonderful discovery for us. I showed up early on the Saturday before Christmas in search of Christmas day's menu. Tim in the meat department was fantastic helping me by personally picking the right size Rib roast and the ladies in the bakery were so nice and searched for the perfect cake for my granddaughter. The manager was fantastic too making sure I had everything I needed. I will be back!

They have a great selection of hot meals and are very well organized. The staff is new and very green but learning. The meat selection is nice and I really like the layout. The produce section gets crowded due to placement next to meat and hot meals and narrow aisle.
