Yelp
I was very excited when Puck was opening, since at the time, it would be the only non-smoking bar in Doylestown. Add great live music, and how could they go wrong?
Well, the red velvet rope at the entrance really has to go. This is Doylestown, not NYC or LA. And the management has a "cooler than you" attitude (believe me, they aren't cooler than anyone). So the acoutics have improved since they opened, and it is a good place to see live music. They really don't encourage dancing, seems like they frown upon it. The bar selection is what you would expect and the service is decent. There is also an outdoor bar.
So it IS a music venue. They have had some great musicians like Phil Roy, Daneilia Cotton, Al Stewart play. The website is pretty cool - sign up for the mailing list - if there are low ticket sales, they send out last minute email deals.
Eat before you go, though. The food offerings include an assortment of "gourmet" hot dogs (they are cooked in a microwave), chicken fingers and a few wraps. Cheesy. I expected more from the former owners of Roosevelt's and Blue 52.
And like the other reviewer pointed out, if you want a table, call ahead to reserve one.
