Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant Review - Downtown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"If there’s one place to see live music in Nashville, it’s Ryman Auditorium. However, if the Ryman is sold out that night or you’re after something more low-key, walk a block and a half down the street to Puckett’s instead. This place started out as a general store with a stage, but now it’s turned into one of the best venues in town with live music seven nights a week. They also serve really good food, like shrimp and grits and Cajun chicken and waffles." - Kristen Shoates

Live music at times. Staff is very scattered as they do not appear to have assigned stations and just randomly ask people of they've been helped. I had a grilled chicken breast with baked beans. They were good. My husband had their Texan burrito and said it was good.

Extremely slow service — make sure you don’t have a tight schedule if you sit down to eat here. My chicken took nearly an hour to arrive, and when it did, it was dry and tough. The fries were cold, which made the wait even more disappointing. They did have live music, and the musician was talented, but the volume was turned up way too high, making it hard to enjoy a conversation. Overall, between the long wait, lackluster food, and noise level, I would not recommend dining here.

Had a quick turn around business trip in town and stopped here for breakfast. Biscuit was tough but the pancake was really good. Crispy edges and soft fluffy middle and not too thick. They had their own syrup which I thought might be the best syrup I’ve ever had. Really good. The live music happening in the dining area was a great experience.

I am so tired of monopoly restaurants in airports. Don't get me wrong. There are some stellar spots out there amongst the terminals in different cities. Those are just gems. This is the chaff that makes you enjoy those. The prices were loud and proud, but I was expecting that. The food was sub par quality which I was hoping to avoid. When they have a sit down spot in an airport and give you plastic wrapped utensils that are so cheap that the fork tines are like spaghetti, you know you are paying a lot for nothing. I had a wrap with fries. I should have just gotten protein at a newspaper stand. That wrap had the taste of hospital food without the care of my health. The fries were ok and ketchup makes it all more homogenous. The seating was terrible and the staff were overwhelmed. Management dragging in more dimes at other people's expense. Not a spot I will visit again during a Nashville layover. There's better spots in the airport.

After seating our self, staff arrived a few minutes later. Went to order a burger, had no burgers and they were out. Pork sandwich was okay. After food arrived, had to get your own silverware and no ketchup. Had to interrupt the host to get silverware because he was watching videos on his phone. Had to go to the front and ask a different waitress for a refill. Only time we seen our waitress was to take our plates away and then asked if we needed a refill when we were done eating, then sat down and was on her phone, after 10 minutes, we asked for our bill. There were only about 6 tables the entire time we were there.

Service was fast and nice with live music. Ordered the piggy Mac. Good flavor but was watery. Came out on a little skillet like it would actually be hot. It was just warm like it had been sitting for 40 minutes. I was tempted to ask them to throw it in a microwave.

The atmosphere was good and there was a large amount of seating. A solo live band was playing on a small stage with light music that sounded great. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich I got on sourdough bread was mostly bread. I love sourdough bread, but this bread was just overwhelming. You can see it from the photo. A coworker got the entrée salad and it was good.

I’ve stopped here frequently. Food is always good. Have historically been disappointed with the airport location because they had not carried the famous cobbler that they offer in their downtown location. I stopped in tonight to learn they now have it on the menu, but unfortunately, they had just run out earlier in the day. I’m thrilled to see it on the menu. In the meanwhile stop in and see the world‘s best server to Tamia Taylor. She brings true joy to a difficult day of travel. PS cinnamon roll pudding as the appetizer, for the win!
