After many suggestions I stopped in for dinner. This was a quaint restaurant with an old country store vibe. The night we arrived the had live music on the stage. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and even found room for their fried brownies. It was good but not $12 good. Just my opinion. I think you would enjoy stopping in and trying g this place out for yourself.

Had an amazing experience at Puckett’s. The food was incredible.Best brisket that I’ve ever had. Ribs, pulled pork and chicken were also very good. Skillet Mac was amazing! Cole slaw was amongst the best I’ve had. Also enjoyed the cowboy caviar and grits. Service was fast and friendly. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Our meal and experience at Puckett’s in Franklin was excellent. The food was great and the service was superb. Chicken fried chicken was awesome. Just make sure you save room for their cinnamon roll bread pudding! It was to die for! The live entertainment was very good too. I would definitely come back to this restaurant and eat again.

We've been to a few Puckett's restaurants. We've always had a great experience and this one didn't disappoint. Ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and BBQ Pork and Beef Brisket. The food was delicious. Service was excellent. We visited on a Sunday evening. There was live music which was superb. I'd recommend booking a table otherwise you may have to wait. Great atmosphere and value. Highly recommended.

Google
Great food, huge portions and pretty cool funky atmosphere w live music. Franklin itself is an awesome town if you have never been there. We sat outside after enjoying the Sunday farmers market which was huge and a wonderful event. I had the ginormous Puckett Mojo burger, which is a huge burger with coleslaw and baked beans, house pickles and wood smoked pulled pork with bbq sauce….seriously, seriously delicious. Members of our party had brisket and pork sliders which unfortunately were on the dry side and needed sauce. I also had their hose IPA(Captain or General?)…very nice. The burger was top 5 I’ve ever had

Google
We got the piggy Mac, bologna sandwich, and the deep fried brownie sundae. The piggy Mac was good, but the portion size wasn’t that big. There was a bologna was superrr thick so it made the sandwich not as good. The deep fried brownie was amazing! Overall, had a great atmospheres, but we must’ve just ordered the wrong entrees because we weren’t too impressed.

Google
Wow!! Southern cooking done right! Our crew came through and visited for brunch. We made the comment "Oh, this is the best ______" about many of their breakfast items. If its your first time, you should definitely try their Fried Chicken and Apple Jack's breakfast dish.

Google
First time visiting on a Sunday. Make a reservation. Lots of parking available. Live music at 6:00. We enjoyed the pimento cheese bites, the fruit tea, the fried chicken club, and piggy Mac. All were delicious. We tried the Presley Parfait! Yum!

Yelp
I met a friend at Puckett's in Franklin for lunch last week. At 11:15 a.m. the place was quite empty. Everything on the menu looked good to me, but sadly I can't eat fried food anymore. There are plenty of good choices on the menu. I picked the Whiskey Grilled Chicken breast. It came with 2 sides. Mashed sweet potato and I picked lima beans as my second side. Everything was tasty. the boneless skinless chicken breast was moist and flavorful. The sides were perfectly sized portions for me. And by noon the place was packed and noisy. The server was attentive. All in all a good experience for this Arizona girl!

Brian J.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times. Expect a bit of a wait! It's quite popular. The food is always good; sometimes the live music is a bit loud. You can also get the BBQ sauce in bottles to take home!

Yelp
Having enjoyed Puckett's Chicken Fried Chicken in the past, tue two of us decided to share that for lunch there today. We were frankly surprised at the scant portion size. Both in our 70s, neither of us can metabolize the calories we once could, so we often share one menu main item or each order a child plate, if the eatery allows that. However, this portion size of a boneless Chicken Breast, Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Caviar and a lone silver-dollar size Corn Cake was appallingly slight. Once divided into the two portions, the food on could possibly qualify as a snack, but not really a meal. What was worse, by way of comparison, the child plate at local Bishop's Meat-&-Three gives the diner considerably more food on the plate for $4.99 vs Puckett's $16.75. Plus, the wait was at least 45 minutes which seemed to flummox our apologetic server. And once, the order arrived, we could then understand why the server seemed so surprised that we were planning to share. A weird and noteworthy fact is not all that long ago, this menu item included two boneless breast, rather than one, and the cost was about $4 less!

Yelp
Today's dining experience was incredibly disappointing. Despite being with a group of four, none of our meals were enjoyable; they lacked flavor, some were served cold, and the quality was noticeably subpar. We were informed that the restaurant was under new management, but unfortunately, the changes made to the menu were not for the better. The once amazing Mac and cheese was now unpleasant, and the chicken was dry and rubbery. However, our waitress Sara stood out as a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing meal. She provided excellent service and was incredibly sweet. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the manager. Despite our dissatisfaction with the food, the manager initially refused to remove the untouched portions from our bill, even though we had ordered extra based on previous positive experiences. After persistently asking twice, the manager eventually acquiesced, but failed to personally address our complaint or check in with us, resulting in poor customer service. Overall, this experience was a waste of money and left us feeling extremely disappointed. It's unlikely that we will return to the restaurant after this disappointing visit.

Yelp
Our food was delicious!!!! Our server at the bar today could not have been better! Loved my fried bologna sandwich and sweet potato fries, the Mojo Burger was excellent and the Farm (plate of food) did not disappoint! Highly recommend eating here!!!

Yelp
I was in town visiting a friend and they raved about Puckett's. So had to try it. The reviews look spectacular! We went for a later lunch on Sunday and expected a long wait. Maybe it wasn't long because it was so cold outside. They sat us immediately and very quick to get our drink orders. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. They also include a corn bread/roll. Wasn't terribly impressed with that. They also put barely enough white gravy to cover 1/4 of the chicken. I had to ask for more and it still wasn't a ton. Maybe be a little more portion size on the gravy in the future. The chicken was really good though as was the mashed potatoes. We got two desserts to share. The bread pudding and cobbler of the day was peach. The bread pudding was DA BOMB! great taste and filling. The peach cobbler I could have left. Barely any peaches, too dry and the dough was way too thick and like cake consistency. I would come back but wouldn't order the cobblers again.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Pucketts for an entertaining spot to go to with my family and guests. My experience today now limits my favorable opinion. Nine of us are there tonight. The nachos we good, but the meal failed on multiple levels. Tough, uneatable whisky chicken, and a poor chicken salad sandwich, and the sides - broccoli and sweet potato - were all inexcusably bad. Service was good, as was the shrimp and grits. The brisket sandwich was again marginal, though typically very good. The band was very entertaining. Usually, the place is packed. The quality of the food may be a factor. I hope that the management can kick up the food experience to preserve their excellent reputation.

Yelp
Yummy southern food, live music, grocery and bar! Really fits in Franklin. The fried chicken was the best id ever eaten. Ribs fell OFF the bone.

D D.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. Feels very local and the ambiance is super cool. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
If you want true Southern cooking, this is the place to go to. I ordered a fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and fixings, which included green beans (southern style, so not to my taste, but if you love these types of green bean beans, this is the place. . My son ordered bbq beef with French fries and coleslaw. The slaw was tart and fresh. He liked his meal a lot. We started with an order of pimento bread which was amazingly yummy! We sat at the bar, so our server took great care of us. The name of this operation sounds like there are lots of groceries here and the restaurant is a part of it. It's really the other way around. All restaurant. A little bit of groceries and simple and clean. I would go back when I head to Tennessee again. But only after I tried other places to eat first. I like variety.

Yelp
This place is TOP NOTCH!!! Our greeter was Big Frank and our awesome server was the very distinguished Mr Joseph Ok, so hubs and I are Carnivore and we eat MEAT ONLY(high protein) they have this dish called THE WHOLE FARM and let me tell you--that's what it was!! Best suggestion from Big Frank, Brisket, pulled pork, fibs, smoked half chicken, and Joseph suggested we add the sausage, CARNIVORE DREAM!!! Definitely our new spot!! We will be back!!!

Mike E.

Yelp
Very large portions. Meat and 3 is easily 2 meals. Service is good and servers attentive. Will definitely go back when in town.

Samantha W.

Yelp
The staff including our waitress was absolutely lovely. She was incredibly accommodating especially with my gluten-free requests. The store/restaurant is a country vibe with southern charm. The food is to die for. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend Puckett's!

Brandon W.

Yelp
It's such a shame to share this. If you have ANY SORT OF FOOD SENSITIVITY (especially gluten allergies/intolerance), definitely AVOID Nico at all costs. As a longtime Williamson County resident, I was thrilled to finally share Downtown Franklin and famous Puckett's with my family, visiting from Illinois for my little sister's birthday. She has a SEVERE gluten allergy, so chatting with the server is always crucial. We were quickly greeted by Nico, and upon mentioning my sister's allergy, his entire demeanor changed. He quickly became dismissive and shouted "chicken or maybe salmon" as he walked away. Totally taken off-guard, my sweet, quiet sister's face said it all... I knew that scared her. When he returned with the drinks, I did my best to provide Nico with context on the severity of her allergy and suggested speaking with a supervisor to see what options were available. Ignoring the request, he quickly left yet again as I continued to speak. My sister was shaking, eyes swelling. Having driven four hours for the day to celebrate a happy birthday, she was broken. We left immediately, and I can honestly say I won't be back. As someone with years of hospitality experience in all shapes and colors, this level of disregard for such a life-threatening matter is universally unacceptable. Busy Saturday lunch shift or not, please do better, Puckett's... I'm stunned.

Shauna M.

Yelp
Good food and I love the downtown Franklin area. Highly recommend this place and waiter was very friendly and kind.

Anastasia K.

Yelp
Came in on an impulse and was not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious and filling. I had the hot chicken sandwich, sweet berry tea, Mac and cheese, and some fries. Plenty to go around! The staff were prompt and friendly. We were seated fast and the energy in here is lovely and welcoming. I will be coming back here when I visit again! This place is lovely and definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
Once again Puckett's delivers good food, great service and top notch musical entertainment. The talent of these musicians and songwriters are unmatched in my opinion. We have never been disappointed with our experience at the Franklin location. It helps immensely when there is a free parking garage across the street for convenience. That and Franklin is not only a very adorable community but one steeped in civil War history.

Mirko P.

Yelp
So far, we patronized this location several times. It became a routine having a very nice and friendly service. The tables are spacious and it's a very convenient, if having a bigger party, not fighting where to put plates. Ambiance is nice and the noise level is pretty low. At the end of this review is the most important part "Food" so far everything we ate so far was delicious. Fried Southern Fried Chicken is always exceptional and safe item to go with. Last visit I ordered Portabella Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and enjoyed it.

Yelp
We drive the 100 miles to Nashville quite frequently but when we go to Nashville, we are usually racing to get to the airport on time. This trip, we had all the time in the world. Of course I searched on Yelp, where I found Puckett's Grocery and restaurant. It was only rated at 4 stars (I totally disagree!) but it sounded interesting. We took a short, easy 2 mile detour off I-65 towards Franklin and we were not disappointed. Puckett's takes reservations on OpenTable but there weren't any available this day. We were told it was a 30-45 minute wait but we were welcome to sit at the bar if there was space (there wasn't). There was very little room in the entranceway to wait so most people were out on the sidewalk either sitting at the cafe tables or just roaming up and down the block. Though we didn't venture away, we saw other guests coming back with bags from local shops. It was closer to the 45 minutes until we were seated at a high top in the corner. The table was a little weird - the table top hit me at chest level making eating a bit awkward. I'm not particularly tall - more average I guess - this could be a problem for shorter guests. We were almost immediately welcomed by our server. Because we had ample time to peruse the menu while waiting, we ordered immediately. We had our drinks a few minutes later. Our food took a bit longer than I expected but the restaurant was packed. It was definitely worth waiting for though. We ordered the BBQ plate, added smoked sausage and substituted skillet mac 'n cheese for baked beans. The pulled pork was melt in your mouth tender. The brisket was sliced thin and didn't really even need a knife to cut. The sausage was a little tougher to cut - real casings maybe, I'm not sure. The mac was creamy and cheesy and baked just right. I absolutely loved it. The sweet potato fries on the other hand were kind of meh. I definitely wouldn't pay the upcharge for them. The slaw was good but really, unremarkable. Neither of us cared for the corn cakes. Reading back through this, I can see how you may wonder why I rated this restaurant 5 stars. Let me tell you, the BBQ and mac were outright amazing. We split the plate and, between the two of us, didn't finish. We're not huge eaters and next time we would forgo the sausage. I'd also make sure to sub out the fries instead of the beans. I noticed everyone around us had fried chicken - definitely on my list to try next time. The dessert offerings looked delicious but there was no way another bite of anything would fit. In fact, this might be a common occurrence, I didn't see anyone with dessert. With tip, (we did order just water), our check was well under $30. Service was great and the restaurant was clean. There is free parking in a garage across the street and paid parking behind the restaurant. My next three trips to Nashville will be setting the autopilot straight toward the airport. One sunny day , we'll just have to drive up to explore Franklin and, of course, eat at Puckett's.

Anna S.

Yelp
Nice vibe, good but not great food. Our waiter was not attentive and carried food to our table haphazardly.

Damon P.

Yelp
Service was friendly and fast. The night I went they had a live band but I ate outside since the restaurant was packed. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a salad and was quite tasty. Would recommend, wanted to try the brisket.. maybe next time.

Erin L.

Yelp
Local vibe that doesn't disappoint. Wonderful staff, love the decor and enjoyed their breakfast selection. Cinnamon roll is sweet, but not too heavy and enjoyed the breakfast platter with a great cup of coffee.

Cissy W.

Yelp
Puckett's remains consistently good. Returned recently for breakfast which is classic. Biscuit with bacon and egg. Great way to start the day. Keeping the 5 stars!

Pretty O.

Yelp
I was visiting from out of town. Cute place. I came here in the morning for breakfast. Service was good. I ordered bacon, eggs, home fries, and a biscuit. I was disappointed that the bacon was not thick. The home fries were nothing special. But the biscuit really was delicious. The next night my husband and I went there for dinner. The hostess was not friendly and seemed annoyed. They were busy. The female hostess said there would be a 30 minute wait and that she would text us when the table was ready. After we were seated, the female waitress took our order. I remember her name but won't put it in the review. She brought our food, and that was it - she never came to our table again. She was busy making drinks behind the bar. I just don't understand how a server can neglect their table. People were pouring into the place and there was one party of 24 people who came in. It was chaotic. My husband ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich and there was hardly any mushroom in it. The brisket in my sandwich was tough and thick. I started to get annoyed at the lack of service and went outside. My husband had to go find the waitress and ask for the check. If you own a restaurant, you have to have good service and food.

Yelp
8 yrs ago was my first visit to Puckett's , once we moved here we brought every out of town guest to Puckett's ... even during covid shut downs we still ordered & picked up from Puckett's ... last night we ordered food was packaged well we live 6 mins from Puckett's but the only food that was truly hot was the chicken ... the rest was luke warm ... I'm not sure why but in the middle of the night both of us got terribly ill like we ate something bad ... the food was ready within 20 min we were there to pick up in 10 & waited we didn't let out food get cold so we can't figure out why we got so ill ! We are not sure we could ever eat there again... which is too bad bc the music is always good & service is usually great ! Hopefully this was an isolated incident in the meantime we both missed work today which is not ideal!

Yelp
So we were on a road trip today driving across Southern Tennessee and on our way back to Nashville we decided to cruise through the quaint Town of Franklin, Tennessee. After walking through the Town and checking out all of the Civil War history and main historical monuments, we started getting a little hungry so we cracked out our trusty Yelp app and found our way over to Puckett's and boy we were glad we did. Turns out we arrived on Live music night and we caught "Rooted in Grace" which are the most talented groups of kids that entertained us tremendously singing all sorts of Christian and country songs that were awesome. This complicated things a bit as reservations weee all taken up but the staff were awesome and fit us in at the bar which was great as we talked up a storm and made a few friends as well. Once we settled in at the bar with our server / bartender Donny, we proceeded to order some drinks which were really good. I ordered an Old Fashioned and a little wine for my wife and we were good to go. For appetizers we orders the Fried Pimento Cheese bites with Pepper Jelly which were really good as well. For our main courses we had the Puckett's BBQ Platter and the Shrimp and Grits and as you can imagine they were both excellent. Now I will say that we did not have dessert on this occasion but I did spy a pretty big Apple Cobbler with Vanilla ice cream that looked amazing. Overall, we had a really great day today and closing out with a great diner at Puckett's was just icing on the cake. If you find yourselves in Franklin, TN with a case of the hangries, well now you know. Wishing you all a great evening and enjoy the great food Y'all!

Mike R.

Yelp
Wy wife and I ate here at the Franklin location today. It was a 30 minute wait on a Sunday at 11:15 a.m. or you could sit at the bar. Guess what? We sat at the bar. We bith got the bbq platter. The ambiance is good. The bartender was nice and attentive. The Brisket was ok and the pulled pork was very good. Homemade slaw was very good. Bbq beans were very good and a tasty corn cake. Moderately priced. Its worth a visit. You have to try the Mac & Cheese.

Bret B.

Yelp
Southern meat and side restaurant like I grew up going to. Enjoyed the fried chicken, green beans, collards and mashed potatoes with gravy. All good and very filling. Service at bar was friendly and pretty attentive. Vibe is Cracker Barrel like with a lot of old stuff on walls and grocery and other goods available. I will return as I love this kind of food. Nothing fancy or special until you haven't had it in a while.

Bunny M.

Yelp
Went there on the way to a show at the Theatre and we both enjoyed a huge hamburger with fries. Cooked to perfection. They were setting up a local band but we had to get to the Theatre or we would have stayed. Kimmy working the bar was amazing to watch. We will be back

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Brought our 3 month old with us, and they were amazing. Did not have to wait long to be seated, even though they were very busy. I got the ribeye and it was so so good. I loved the tables, and the stage they had

Christine L.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great music. We will definitely come again. This was the perfect place for our family's first night in Franklin

Camille A.

Yelp
The food was so delicious!!! & the lady working was so nice & super duper attentive!! I loved it!

Sonia M.

Yelp
Delicious comfort food! Get there early always a long wait but definitely worth it. Get the smoked meatloaf and the country friend chicken.

Derrick C.

Yelp
If you want the driest bbq ever served to humans, then this is the place for you. The service was good and the prices seemed decent until you get that plate of smoked sawdust. The best part about this place, is how close it is to Whitney's cookies.

Savannah L.

Yelp
This place is a Franklin staple! Whether you want to eat in or eat out it's a great place to go! The only reason they lost a star is because the wait times are usually pretty long the several times I've been there but it's a classic! A southern homie ambiance, and you must get their fruit tea!

Jeffrey E.

Yelp
Stopped by Puckett's on a Saturday about 1 pm. Had about a 30 min wait but the free parking across the street in the deck was nice! It's a cute interior that appears to be an old general store. Ordered the nacho's with pulled pork and they were incredible. Pork was delicious and toppings were generous. For entree got the 3 sliders with one each of the meats. Highly recommend! Enjoy this find in a beautiful town!

Savannah C.

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant downtown. It had an old grocery store vibe. Food was delicious. Service was great. If you are visiting Franklin or live there I would highly recommend eating here. I got the Music City Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was amazing. It's definitely spicy! But so so good. My friend got the bbq Mac and cheese and also said it was one of the best things she's ever eaten.

Hyoun K.

Yelp
I found myself in downtown Franklin and I decided to revisit Puckett's. It's been a couple years since I've dined with them and my first for Franklin. Not to say the food isn't good, it is very good. The issue is I ended up moving to the armpit of Middle Tennessee and Puckett's isn't convenient for me anymore. The closest one is downtown and us long-tenured residents usually avoid downtown except for special occasions. I arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday and there was already a 1 hour wait. Luckily I found a seat at the bar after waiting about 30 minutes. I ended up choosing the Chicken Fried Chicken dinner, which includes a Cajun corn cake, mashed potatoes, and Southern green beans. While I was waiting for the food, the live music entertainment started playing. He was really good and I enjoyed his songs. If you're wanting good food and live entertainment, Puckett's doesn't disappoint. The best part of my meal was the chicken fried chicken. The Southern green beans were ok. It had a ton of bacon in it, which I liked but it needed a good shake of the salt shaker to make it taste better. The Cajun corn cake was slightly spicy but sweet cornbread. I love sweet cornbread and this hit the spot (but it was so tiny). The mashed potatoes were under the chicken fried chicken. By itself, it was kind of bland but the point is to eat the chicken fried chicken with the gravy and the mashed potatoes all at once. I got two thin fried chicken breasts stacked on top of each other and smothered with a heaping serving or white gravy. I typically don't care for fried chicken breasts (because of the dry factor) but these were hands down, THE BEST fried chicken breasts I've ever eaten. Seasoned perfectly and incredibly juicy. It was difficult for me not to inhale the chicken. The country gravy was creamy and brought the entire entree together. I'll definitely be coming back to try this and other entrees again!

Yelp
My wife and I visited this location on a weekday morning (more like brunch time - around 10am), so my review is based on breakfast items. Overall, I'd say this place is decent and worthwhile to visit as a breakfast option but it is far from being a standout dining option. (We've dined at both this Franklin location and the Nashville location - which is why we visited the Franklin location) First, the atmosphere is your typical no frills rustic southern charm, which is fine by me. That's why I'm in Franklin, TN! Next, our waitress was super friendly and personable, with a great personality - and she provided great service too! Last, but certainly not least, the food was for the most part 'meh.' The only standout part of our meal was the cast iron cinnamon roll appetizer that my wife and I shared (and is pictured here). Big kudos on that dish! The main course however was just 'ok.' I had fried chicken, eggs, potatoes and toast. My wife had pancakes, eggs, and sausage. The chicken was pretty dry/boring and aside from the proverbial salt and pepper flavor that accompanies breakfast foods like eggs and potatoes, the flavor was just unremarkable. In contrast, The Row, in Nashville, TN, will provide a breakfast option that will knock your socks off! So again, the service and decent quality of food make this a viable breakfast option, but temper your expectations on the flavor scale.

Puckett's Grocery: A Culinary Ode to Southern Comfort In the heart of Franklin, Tennessee, lies a culinary gem that exudes the warmth and charm of Southern hospitality. Yelp
Love Puckett's. Second time here and no let down. Food, service, and entertainment were spot on. Had the half a rack of ribs. Really good and a lot of food. Not fall-off-the-bone tender but charred to perfection and still very good.

Besides having to wait an hour it was a great experience. Excellent food. Pretty good service.

Yelp
Went for brunch on a Saturday. Was seated immediately which was nice. The waitstaff was kind. We ordered Pancakes and the Southern Breakfast. The fried chicken and apple jacks pancakes were soooooo good!!! However, the food was really cold when it got to us. In addition, I ordered my eggs over medium - when they got to the table they were ice cold and the whites were runny which usually is an over easy egg. Potatoes were bland. Biscuits were good. Overall I think the fact that the food was super cold when we got it was a major bummer and makes me not want to go back again. Also, the bathrooms were in the kitchen which weirded out some of the people in my group.

Yelp
The wait was long but they were very accommodating. Our waitress Sally was very nice and attentive. Food was pretty good, I split a burger with daughter and a side of mac n cheese, very yummy. Atmosphere was great, it was a Saturday, live music was nice, they do have a cover charge if you stay to listen $12 pp.

Yelp
If you want to enjoy an amazing breakfast when visiting Franklin, Tennessee, this is the place! I had the Brisket Hash with grits on the side (gotta get grits when you're in The South!) and MAN OH MAN that was seriously delish! The venue looks like a general store along the walls, with shelves of commercial-sized products. There's even a full bar for later on in the day, but they do offer brunch-y libations for brekkie. Our server was excellent as well! Can't wait to get back here again!

Yelp
Fantastic food! Service was excellent. Serving size was on point. Left with my stomach doing the happy dance. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Franklin.

Yelp
I enjoyed the chicken club and hubby had the chicken dinner, both were delicious. The restaurant was very busy and the service was excellent. With the full dining room and the tables full it was still a fun atmosphere. The cans of food stacked on the wall of shelves and the cold storage of the market gave a fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Great live music and bbq plates. Food is very delicious, including their house salad. The portions are huge so it's easy to share one item by two people.
