Everything was fresh. The food was excellent. I had an omelet. They bought nachos, they were friendly, even the manager came and checked on me. Please come here. They said the steak is good also

Simply amazing! I was very intrigued by the ambiance and the atmosphere and it delivered. Fun place to indulge and get a sense of what Mexican culture has to offer. Friendly service and amazing food! Great food and excellent service! The interior was beautifully decorated, with a small fountain, traditional Mexican pottery, and with gorgeous leather chairs that were reminiscent of something you'd find in a study in a Mexican ranch in the late 1890s. Super clean and spotless! Very authentic in decor and flavor! The service was just absolute amazing! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 We're from out of town, and it was our first time there. The waiter actually came by to let us know that the kitchen was a bit behind schedule, and updated us on when the food would be coming out. He did this without us even complaining or asking (we were all having a great time catching up with an old family friend for his birthday), we'd honestly lost track of time in conversation. We all appreciated the waiter's transparency with the food delay. But it doesn't stop there: our waiter, once he heard that it was our friend's birthday, he sent the table a round of shots, and overall, just went completely above and beyond to make sure that we felt welcome and that we had a great time! We live over an hour and a half away, but I'm planning on making the drive again, later this summer with my family! We love you guys! Highly recommend this place!

I absolutely love this place. The food was amazing and so fresh. Yummy drinks a little bit on the pricey side but worth it. It's definitely really clean and I love how they decorated everything. A real gem.

The service was impeccable, we were offered complimentary margarita shots and tamales before we even ordered our lunch! The food was very authentic, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Will definitely be returning!

New management and Changing daily menu, it's a friendly staff and atmosphere, I liked the original menu better but this changing menu is more cost efficient I got the Caldo Maricos (Shrimp and Fish) soup. They are definitely worth a try, just a few things they need to work on. They will return

Went in on lunch a few days ago. Service was fast and friendly. Food was not great. Ordered the empanadas de camarón and the breading tasted like it wasn't cooked all the way. Inside there was WAY too much onion and hardly any shrimp. My friend ordered the ceviche de camarón. It tasted fine, although I've had better, but when I removed a chip from on top of the plate there was a hair!!!! I let the waitress know and she did take it off of our bill which was nice. Needless to say I will not be returning. The taste of the food wasn't great and for the price, there are better marisco restaurants in Joliet.

Place is fire. I recommend them to everyone that likes delicious food. I got the Chili's relleno and the sauce is amazing

My boyfriend and I discovered this restaurant a couple months back, we LOVE it so much!! The food is sooo good delicious, reminds me of my childhood. The servers are always super nice and welcoming. Its 45minutes from my home but its worth the drive!!!

I like it here. Honestly every place is different and everyone is different too. If you know what you want order it! If you've never ordered it and want to try it try it. What I like here is the shrimp cucarachas...they are spicy but that good spicy the kind that makes you want to eat more... and so I usually get a garlic bread to cool down the spice...and I like drinking micheladas and here they are tasty. So get one. I tried tacos de tripa(chitlins) I like mine between crispy and soggy...but here they throw in a lot of fatty ones so it was a no go for me...it's chill,loud when it's busy...overall I like it here. Came in here again because it satisfies my seafood crave. Had mussels this time. And yummy yummy in my tummy. Give this place a try! It does get packed and seats are limited. Don't get mad if no seats are available...come back again or wait. They have a music jukebox pay and play music you want to hear. Gets loud so be loud or else the person you're with won't hear you.

Best skirt steak tacos with corn tortillas EVER. I ordered them traditional style with cilantro and onion only. The dinner came with the typical sides of Mexican rice and refried beans, they too were outstanding. Complimentary chips and salsa, excellent. That's it. Need I say more. THE BEST. My server Elvira was very nice and did a great job taking of me.

Very authentic Mexican food. Staff is extremely friendly, food is delicious. Try the shrimp tacos, you won't be disappointed.

Tasty but dry food with terrible service. I came in with my mother for a quick Sunday lunch. We started our order off with two margaritas. Since my mother only wanted one taco with rice and beans and I wanted two tacos; we decided to get the taco dinner ( 3 tacos with rice and beans). My mother ordered her SINGLE taco; cilantro and onion. I got two tacos with cheese and sour cream only. We repeated the order a few times to the waitress as we knew it would be a bit confusing. When we go the order, it was wrong. We tried to motion for the waitress to come back over but it seemed as if she did everything in her power to avoid us. She never even came back to make sure everything was ok. We then had to wave someone over to assist us and all she did was get our waitress. After waiting a good 15 minutes before getting her attention, we were a bit irritable but we still remained calm as we expressed the discrepancy in our order. The waitress then told me that we never asked for the tacos that way. And I asked her what she meant and she told us "what it was that we ordered" which was completely wrong. She argued with us for about 2 minutes about what we ordered when I finally asked to see her meal slip which had our order on it. She didn't want to give it to us so she then decided to just have the tacos remade. When I got them back, they literally had about 6 pieces of shredded cheese on each taco and a mountain of sour cream. Smh. We quietly ate the food, paid our bill, with no tip and left with no intent on ever returning.

Terrible service!!! If your not Mexican they don't pay you any attention! I sat at the bar and it took them legit 10mins to give me a menu. Another 10mins to come and ask what I wanted to order. Whenever you dine in they give you salsa, well guess what? No one came and gave me salsa. The kind gentleman next to me, let me get a few of his chips. I've been here before and they messed up my order but that happens so I didn't mind. However now after this experience I won't be back. Which is probably what they wanted in the first place. Almost forgot this was a random Tuesday! They were not busy

This is by far one of my favorite sea food restaurants in Joliet the service is great, the plates come in a very full portions the price was fear everything taste so fresh of course I loved my michelada first time I drink one I am a wine pink moscato type of girl anyways everything was great. I love the name of the restaurant since my mom is from Puerto Escondido Oaxaca I love the atmosphere too. My husband couldn't even finish his plate it has a lot of sea food. Definitely coming back.

Have been waiting patiently for this place to open as I always passed by but seemed like it took a while to be available for business. The menu items were half mariscos and half regular Mexican grub. The biggest turnoff was the loud music that was constantly played as me and my buddy had a hard time communicating with the waitress. Another unfortunate thing was that some of the menu options offered weren't available. I wanted a horchata and my friend wanted goat soup and a steak gordita but weren't available since the restaurant is brand new and was apparently going through a settling period. I enjoyed my fried garlic catfish, which for $13, you got a whole fish, sans head, with rice and salad. Prices for everything else were cheap. Service was kinda slow but I think it was because there were only 2 waitresses, while one of them was playing barmaid, which was a factor. Still pretty new as I don't think they've been open a month as they've still working out a few kinks. Food was very good, wouldn't recommend taking someone for a conversation friendly, romantic encounter.

I loved it here. Was recommended by husbands coworker and I was very pleased. The shrimp ceviche was delicious and the shrimp tacos were amazing. Definitely will be going back.

The food is wonderfully authentic. You get huge portions. Service is amazing and the price is more than reasonable. I found my new regular spot for good Mexican food.

I've been going for basically every Thursday!! I love this place with like my whole heart:)!! I love love love their tacos and salsa options :)) great varieties of food!!!! And the surroundings and paintings are so gorgeous and neat!! Staff is beyond nice and welcoming!!

Service was fast and friendly by a sweet lady named Elvira. The food was served hot, fresh and scrumptious! Everything from the chips and salsa to the beverages were prepared fresh and tasted DELICIOUS! The prices are very reasonable and affordable. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends and family!

Pepe is the owner and the best cook in the house ! The nachos locos are my favorite. Yes there is a waitress at the bar that hasn't moved since she gave us our menu. But the other waitress, Doña Elvira is a sweetheart and very attentive. Great atmosphere and not too busy so there's always a table ready.

The food is very fresh, great flavors, great pricing. However the staff needs to improve in overall quality of service. Everything from speed to friendliness. Have at times waited more than 40 minutes to even get offered a drink. It again comes back to the staff. Often staff members are eating at the bar while customers are not being properly catered to. A bit disorganized. Drinks are not usually available due to the lack of knowledge from the bartenders. Great food to order for pick up. Eating there not recommended due to the above stated reasons.

Amazing food!!! Absolutely fabulous!!! I ordered the shrimp ceviche and it was so delicious. it was presented so well. Oranges, cucumbers, and avocadoes all around the plate. I ordered "La Playa" skirt steak and shrimp, came with beans, rice, a salad and garlic bread. The flavors were amazing and outta this world!!! The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was so tasty. Not the fanciest decor, it's down right corny but nevermind that, this is my favorite dish now!! I will be going back at least once a week.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is so fresh and wonderful! The bacon wrapped shrimp were huge with a slice of jalapeño for wonderful flavor. The ceviche was by far the best I've ever had. Guacamole is made fresh per order This place is a must try and I recommend it to all! Affordable and reasonable prices! My son had chicken nuggets and fries which were amazing too! Something for everyone! Staff was so friendly and great! I will be back ALOT!!! My new favorite restaurant!

Great stuff here....You know its gonna be good when the chips and salsa are fresh and three types of salsa are served.....looks to be a local place for others in the place....Service was good and everyone in are party enjoyed there meal...Good stuff...

Food is awesome. But service is horrible. The waitress ignored us as we asked for napkins, refreshments, and bill. After 45 minutes of waiting I finally got up and just asked for the bill. 15 minutes later the waitress gave the our bill to costumer and had it brought over. Angie was our so called waitress.

I have to agree with Chris F., although they have been open for quite sometime....We also had the experience of several items on the menu not being available. When the music was on it was very loud and service was slow. The Bartender was busy chatting with customers at the bar while the server was trying her best to perform both jobs. But, if you want authentic and delicious food, I highly reccomend this place. If you are looking to eat, drink and have conversation for any length of time...I would not reccomend this place. The food is a 5 but the service is lacking. Overall, I will go back to pick up my food or eat and drink a delicious Margarita and leave.
