Puerto Nuevo Coffee

Was told by a friend to check out Puerto Nuevo Coffee as they have good smoothies and to go items. After finding them, which is a little difficult, as they are tucked in a strip mall and the best way to park and walk in is through the back. I was warmly greeted and asked for a menu as this was my first time there. I flipped through the menu and decided to order their detox smoothie in a large that came with strawberry, pineapple, kale, spinach and apple juice. The smoothie was thick, but oh so refreshing with a little hint of sweetness from the mix of fruits. Next time I am coming back for a bigger breakfast as the plates that went by looked fabulous!

Since that first bite of those delicious chilaquiles con milanesa de pollo, my girlfriend and I barely miss any weekends coming here! It's been almost 6 months!!! The food is consistently amazing - even with their takeout. I've yet to have an order come back tasting different than the last. The portions are abundant yet we hardly leave any morsels because of how enjoyable the food is. Our favorite is the chilaquiles, as mentioned, but we've also had a few other plates, like the taquitos, the chorizo plate and skillet, and the enchiladas toluquenas. Overall, I love the authentic homestyle cooking. So much so that this even competes with my mom's cooking... SSHHH!!! The chips and salsa they bring out is tasty. We also love their rice! Also, if you can handle some heat, their spicy red salsa is fantastic! Plenty of heat without losing any of the bold flavor. The staff and restaurant are wonderful! They recently remodeled so the interior is more up-to-date. I do miss the separate individual booths, but they get so busy that the new seating makes more sense. I'm super glad they are constantly busy, and they still get the food out in a timely manner! I hardly write reviews, but I couldn't go without stating how this is one of my favorite restaurants. I am hoping I can make it out this weekend!

The food is ALWAYS amazing! Consistently fresh and the Mexican food specifically is top notch. We love coming here for breakfast/brunch and the prices are so reasonable. Top favorite is the Chilaquiles con Milanesa de pollo and the chorizo and egg alambre. We are trying to take all our friends here eventually lol. Must try!

I ordered off of Uber Eats and let me tell you if the catfish breakfast is that good on delivery I definitely got to come on site and get it whennits at its peak of freshness. Fish was cooked to perfection! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 they know what they doing with the fried catfish.

We recently moved to the area and this is already our favorite spot! They have delicious pancakes, homemade chicken sausage and fresh smoothies. Definitely a hidden gem in the local community.

Been coming here for years and they have done nothing but get better with time. Enrique was extremely attentive and courteous. All of the staff here seem to enjoy what they are doing and it shows.

I placed a takeout order of my usual meal, which always comes with rice and beans in separate containers and a generous portion. When I checked the bag before leaving, I noticed that the rice and beans were combined in one small container and looked like barely half of what I normally receive. I politely asked the woman at the counter about it, and she told me "that's how it normally comes." Her tone made it clear she didn't care to even check and walked off ( not even offering if I wanted to pay for more rice ) When I got home and opened it up, it was obvious the portion was ridiculously small -- mashed into the container . I called the restaurant to speak with a manager hoping maybe they could make it right , but it was the same woman I spoke with earlier ... and apparently also the owner's daughter, Barbara. Instead of listening or trying to make it right, she argued with me for over seven minutes -- raising her voice, talking over me, and repeating that she's "the owner's daughter" as if that justified her attitude. You'd think being the owner's daughter would mean showing more care for the business, but instead it felt like she was using it as a shield to be rude and justify her answers She said they "have plenty of rice and beans in the kitchen" -- so why not just fix the issue instead of yelling at a loyal customer? Really disappointing, especially from someone representing her family's restaurant. It's also odd she felt the need to tell me her father owns the business ... she repeated it almost as if that made her right but , I was shocked that she could have such close ties as her dad owning the spot shouldn't she be the best employee there ... If you're reading this, please train Barbara on basic customer service -- If anyone should be setting an example and making things right, it's the owner's daughter -- Barbara took away one of our favorite places to eat !

Had the wet burrito with red sauce. The taste was okay--the red sauce was good, the meat was decent, and the beans and rice were solid. But the burrito didn't quite give me that fresh, classic "wet burrito" taste I was hoping for. Here's how I wish it would've tasted: * Thicker, wetter steak--more of a chopped style meat. * The beans and rice were great, no complaints there. * The tortilla was fine. * The red sauce was solid. * The cheese, though--I'd switch it up. The flavor and quality of the cheese didn't quite scream "wet burrito" to me. I wanted something meltier and more flavorful--give me Monterey Jack, asadero, or a good Mexican blend. I also realized it was the sliced meat (instead of chopped) that threw me off. Price was about $13.

Amazing service! Placed a phone order for pick up, had the wet asada burrito and a caldo de res. Once I got there, they have ample parking in back and some street parking in the front. I saw they have fresh juices so ordered the green juice as well. Inside of restaurant very nice staff was super friendly. When I got home my food was well packed and everything was delisious. Thank you for wonderful service highly recommend this restaurant!

Today, I had my second breakfast from Puerto Nuevo. The first time, a few weeks ago, I had the fried catfish breakfast, and it was a good meal. Today, I had the fried chicken and eggs breakfast, with a side of grits. The portions were decent, but the chicken was 100% bland. I did not taste a single bit of seasoning, nor did I detect any salt or pepper. I struggled to finish the meal because of the tasteless fried chicken. My breakfast cost me $30.00. The meal was not worth $30.00. I left the restaurant feeling very disappointed and like I had wasted my money.

I feel like they have one of the best breakfast burritos. Their turkey sausage is sooo good. Lots of fresh juice options as well. I always get take out but they have a good amount of seating and I usually see lots of people dining in. Parking in front, but more in the back.

Decided to get one of their juices today, I tried the anti-inflammatory one and it was absolutely delicious. Service is very good and the ambiance is nice.

I am so excited to write this review! I've been coming here for 25 years, but I don't get to enjoy but about once a year now because I live a bit far. I LOVE the complimentary nachos, which can be ordered in a larger size. Today, I got a green juice (the #3) and a taco dorado and enchilada verde combo. Juice was refreshing and perfectly green and sweet. My food was exceptionally flavorful! My brother got a grilled chicken wet burrito with red and green sauce. The chicken was flavorful!! Excellent service! I saw one familiar face from back in the day, but the newbies I saw were still so nice and attentive. I can't wait to go back.

finally got around to trying one of their breakfast burrito.... i got the machacca con huevos burrito.... it was great. good size. lots of meat and other yummy items. this will be my go to breakfast burrito when i'm in the area :)

This place is fantastic! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! We had the French toast which were crispy and soft and buttery. Breakfast burritos full of flavor and the green salsa that comes with it is perfect. Also had the cafe de holla and horchatas late. This place didn't miss, everything was good.

This is such a nice family-owned business. The service is always great and the food is delicious! I came in to get breakfast burritos& a juice for me and my kids and couldn't leave without their nachitos. I love the new mural inside and all the small additions they've been adding to decorate.

I ordered a breakfast burrito and Chilaquiles for pick up and it took over 40 minutes for them to make the order. I understand that you're busy but these simple items should not take nearly that long to make. If your kitchen can't handle that many orders than you should Not take those orders. Very disappointed and unhappy customer and I've ordered from here several times before.

Can I just say your homemade turkey sausages are simply delicious you never disappoint with this breakfast. The food is always fresh and delicious the brand of sourdough you use is so delicious as well. I love sourdough toast and yours is by far my favorite. Thank you for a delicious Sunday morning breakfast while watching the Olympics!

Service was good and so was the food. I had a Carnitas Torta and the small plate of chips with beans, cheese & salsa that the give you when your seated is so good. It's a must try

Popped in to Puerto Nuevo as I was in the area and craving some solid breakfast. I was not disappointed! Pros: - Friendly service: Service was friendly! They greeted me promptly, and were eager and able to communicate easily in English or Spanish. - Delicious food: The food was great! I had a veggie omelette, and it came full of delicious vegetables, and was of decent size, prepared well, with some yummy buttered toast, as well. - Good selection: The selection on the menu was varied, and offered Mexican and American staples, as well as several delicious looking juices. The options and prices were all clearly stated, and it was easy to read and order from. - Complimentary nachos: I really enjoyed the complimentary nachos that came out almost immediately. They were such a good way to hold over my appetite, though I did not have to wait long at all for my food-- this restaurant was very efficient. - Reasonable prices: Super reasonable prices, overall! I got a very filling breakfast here for under $20, and it was healthy as well. I was very happy with my experience dining here, and will be back :) No cons at all, I would recommend this spot!

If you're looking for delicious coffee, an amazing omelette, tasty chicken sausage, fresh juice, great hospitality and a covered patio seating, then Puerto Nuevo Coffee is the place to be. The service here is wonderful. Dine indoors or outdoors, in a cozy ambiance. There is plenty of parking in the rear of the restaurant. The menu has something great for all.

The name is deceptive - this is a sit-down, hacienda-style Mexican restaurant. Good food, great ambiance, plenty of parking. Quite an expansive menu - we went for brunch. The service was quite slow, both for ordering and food coming out. Will definitely go back, though!

Bacon, scrambled eggs hash browns + coffee de olla excellent costumer service! It was very delicious! The environment + eating outside was nice!.

I ordered takeout from here so I can't comment on the ambiance because I used a delivery app. Pictures online look nice though. The menu had a lot of great options. I was craving a breakfast burrito so that was never a question. I added avocado and grilled onions, which made it even more delicious. All the ingredients were fresh and well-cooked, with all the veggies perfectly ripe. The burrito was good-sized and well-priced. The perfect way to start the morning. Very hearty, filling, and warming. I stayed full until well into the afternoon! I'd swing by the restaurant to check out more - a great meal!

Great Mexican/ Spanish style breakfast, from machaca with eggs to chilaquiles, everything taste delicious. Their staff is very nice and accommodating. The manager often says hello to my friends and I on our visits. Bonus is the fresh squeezed juices and real fruit smoothies.

The Best Mexican breakfast in Los Angeles! It never disappoints. From the complimentary small plate of nachos, impeccable service, and oh such great food. Fried plantains with all their sweetness... to my favorite, chorizo and eggs scrambled or Huevos Rancheros, every thing my family and I have eaten is great! Add Cafe de Olla to top off your meal.

Wow! Woke up craving soup and the caldo de pollo hit the spot! The broth is so flavorful and the chicken falls off the bone. We also tried the steak breakfast burrito, I would say this is one of the better breakfast burritos in town. It was proportioned well, not overly heavy but also filling. Can't wait to come back and try more items from here!

This place is a hidden gem !!! Amazing food amazing service at a very affordable price. Parking and food is on point in mornin, noon and early afternoon! Its a must if you're in LA off Slauson.

This is a small busy Mexican American restaurant (not cafe! no guest wifi) near a K line train station. After I chose a spot and sat down, the waitress "Mei" greeted me soon and nicely explained how things worked to me. I ended up getting a Chorizo (Mexican sausage) skillet and a glass of iced caramel latte. The skillet came with chips and tortillas. All of them were good! Mei also came by my table several times to make sure things were ok. It was super busy and packed on the Sunday late morning/noon I went. People were waiting at the entrance to be seated. Since it was so busy and people were waiting, a waiter kindly asked me to leave after I had paid. I still had some coffee when he told me that. So if you don't want to have the same disturbing experience as mine, you probably don't want to come here during a busy weekend. I'd give 5 stars if I had not been asked to leave before finishing my coffee.

Great food and customer service. My go to are the vegetarian breakfast burritos and the Spanish coffee. Try it out, you wont be disappointed

Very good flavors. Overpriced but very tasty. One of the best Mexican breakfasts in town. Wide menu choices. Service a bit slow. Was on way to airport and make schedule tight.

Came here on a whim and it was such a pleasant surprise! The breakfast fare is fairly standard but still well done. What I really loved was their fried catfish, which was super light, crispy and perfectly seasoned. The service was very friendly, quick and attentive. And the menu is long and extensive but full of lots of enticing and fairly priced options. I'll have to come back to try several other dishes that my stomach couldn't handle in just one sitting.

I'm not used to writing reviews, but oh wow, their food and customer service are amazing! I don't know the older gentleman's name, but he is always phenomenal. Ever since my first visit, he recognizes me and the kids every time we go in! The ambiance is great; it feels like I'm dining in the back patio of my grandma's house!

Bleh is best word to describe this place. Put my order in about 30 minutes before arriving. Got there and was told to wait even though app showed my order was ready. Eventually someone else asked what was I waiting for and lo and behold my order was sitting there the entire time. Terrible customer service. They gave me two tiny salsas for my breakfast burrito. Asked for 3 more and was told it would be .35 each. Talk about nickel and diming but ok. Here's a buck 50 more on this over priced burrito. Keep the change. Burrito was average at best. Tons of tortilla wrapped around maybe 2 eggs, some bacon, and a few potatoes. I probably should have just ordered a tortilla and salsa with a side of bacon. Would have amounted to same thing they charged me like $15 for. Terrible service. Below average food. And anyone who charges for condiments will never get my business again. Best of luck to this establishment. They have gone further down hill since my last time here several years ago.

Ever since this (Slauson & Overhill) location separated from the La Brea location, the quality and service has tanked. DO NOT EAT HERE. Instead go to the OG location: 1220 N La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90302

The omelette was made fresh with perfectly cooked veggies. The beans and pancakes were also cooked to perfection. We ordered the vampire juice and #2 juice which was also delicious. We'll definitely order again.

Puerto Nuevo is a coffee house but may be better known for its amazing food! They offer everything from traditional mexican dishes to delicous burgers. They offer fresh, healthy fruit and vegetable juices made to order and they are sooo good! Here is the best part: They have a full separate breakfast menu from their ghost kitchen business "Yolked," which is the same restaurant but offers a larger variety of breakfast items. Their breakfast burritos are my favorite in all of LA. I usually order potato, egg whites, chicken sausage (or turkey), cheese, and avacado... WOW!!! Puerto Nuevo has another location in Inglewood off of La Brea and Fairway, which offers the same delicious menu. The staff is friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. If you are on the west side of LA and in need of a great breakfast, walk in and order a burrito. You're welcome.

Puerto Nuevo Coffee has been a great place to come enjoy some tasty breakfast for a while now. They are typically busy on weekends, so come prepared to wait for a bit. The service is always quick and efficient, but I knocked down a star because the quality of some of their foods went down. Before I get into my food a little more, I'd like to say that I love love love the "appetizer" nachos they give you while you order/ wait for your food. I also really enjoy their freshly squeezed juices, which is why I continue to come here. Okay, now onto the food I ordered. The torta de milanesa was a whopping 5.5/10 it lacked flavor and was very bland- nothing like I remembered back then. The fries were also very dissatisfying. While they were crunchy they really tasted like oil and not much seasoning to it all. Not even pepper and more salt saved it. The churros were meh-nothing too exciting. I think if they chose better ingredients or brands for their food it could really make a difference and quality would be spot on again.

I had just finished a long run with a group meeting outside Hilltop Cafe. Some of the other runners were raving about the juice at Puerto Nuevo. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it myself. I ordered a large Vampire which is made up of carrot, beet, orange, ginger, celery, parsley and green apple. I was a little concerned that the ginger flavor would be too overwhelming but I was wrong. The combination was delicious. Perfect rehydration after my 8 mile run. I have my eye on a couple other drinks so best believe I shall return.

This place is always on point! They have been very consistent with the food and taste is good. The staff is really friendly and have always a sense of urgency.

Perfectly fried catfish. Huge, crispy piece. Was not over cooked. I got it to go and it was still amazing when I got home. The home fries were very well seasoned.

Did a to go order for 2 sausage burritos. The inside of the place was very clean, tons of people eating there, GOOD SIGN. Parking is a lot in the back but it's a small walk to get to. Burritos ($8 per burrito) were good ( nice size) it's just the consistency was SOOOOOO off. It's suppose to be potatoes, sausage, cheese and eggs. But there literally was like 80 percent potatoes and then 20 percent of the rest TOGETHER. Now the potatoes had some seasoning on them so they weren't bad BUT dang can I get some other ingredients!!!! The salsa it came with I liked. So overall it was just okay.

10/10 I highly recommend this place for some quality breakfast and nice service. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it gets the job done. The breakfast sandwich is also pretty good.

I love this place ! VERY good food and excellent customer service ! for dine in, take out, and delivery ! Andrea has assisted me on multiple occasions and I am satisfied every single time ! and yes, Turkey burger from a "Mexican restaurant" . one of the best Turkey burgers I've ever had that wasn't homemade !

Stop in for breakfast this morning, as I have on many occasions. But this morning I was totally looked over by my waitress. She choose to direct her attention and good service,to the other customers. I had clearly been there before and was the last to have my order taken. With No offer of an appetizer, Which is complementary. I waited to see if it was coming as I watched her hand the other their's. It never did. I don't like to play the race card, but not sure what else could've been. As I was the only black man in the place. I picked up my items and told the manager to cancel my order I was unhappy with the service. And went on my way. Hopefully she was just having a bad day but the vibe in there seemed Un welcoming.

My go to is the turkey sausage breakfast burrito. It's so fire and they always give you chips and salsa to go with it. Usually top it with Tapatio or Cholula. Good flavor and size burrito.
