From the outside there isn't much going on. A plain entrance claiming the name 'Puffy Muffin' in what might as well be Times New Roman font. However, upon walking in the building the inside gives a much different ambience. I was floored by the liveliness of the dining area and aroma spilling from the bakery. Immediately, I was reminded of 'Cafe du Monde'. We were seated after a short wait and the service was similar to that of a NASCAR pit crew. Our waitress (stickers on her notepad) was fixing issues before they even arose. At one point I even believe the owner, or possibly another customer dressed in Sunday attire, offered to refill my colleagues Coke.
The menu had everything and more, which I felt could have been reduced. During our brunch we ate pancakes, spinach dip, steak, eggs and chicken tenders. A wild combo. The girls loved the ginger tea, a specialty to the restaurant (I would recommend removing the recipe from the wall). By the end of the meal, I was five pounds heavier. As if that wasn't enough, y'all tempted me with those snickerdoodle's as I was walking out the door. Hot guys eat snickerdoodle's.
In review, I would recommend improving your outdoor patio area to sit customers. The name also was a throw off to an "out-of-towner" such as myself, however, I understand y'all are a staple for the Brentwood community. I could envision this being in a stand alone building. For the love of everything good, PLEASE reopen the high top seating for customers. Finally, I would love to share with you my mimosa recipe.....
