After Washington Vibrio Scare, Is It Safe to Eat Oregon Oysters? | Eater Portland

"I observed that Washington oyster habitats like Puget Sound tend to be deeper and less frequently flushed by tides compared with places like Netarts, conditions that allow vibrio to grow and multiply more readily in warm water." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

My family and I used to go boating and did a little bit of fishing at Puget sound from 2000-2001. It was beautiful seeing the animals of the sea.

Gorgeous view on the Washington State Ferry I was enjoying my destination to Seattle on the Washington State ferry from Bainbridge Island ferry. I haven’t taken the ferry since the pandemic so it was a real treat. Unfortunately the cafe is closed and there is limited beverages to get in the vending machines. But the view is worth it I hope in the future that the cafe will reopen. They normally serve great tatter tots and sandwiches on the ferry Other than that, I love the artifacts they have here on the vessel

Ok Yes I was on Puget Sound, but nowhere near Seattle. I was fishing on Admiralty Inlet on the West side of Whidbey island up to Port Townsend. It was a stellar day even though we only caught one salmon. It was great day on the water. Pic is of my son holding his catch And of Port Townsend in the distance.

Puget Sound in Washington is a nice place to see the water. Lots of beaches to walk on around puget sound. Sometimes you can see Orca Whales in the puget sound.

Its Puget Sound which Seattle sits smack dab in the middle. Did you know the first white settlers of Seattle first named their settlement New New York? One New York was enough, two New Yorks was too much, but three New Yorks would have Judge Judy saying, “That’s outrageous!” In fact the only city with the most millionaires & billionaires within our USA is NYC, Seattle is #2. The Beattles first played in NYC, but they held fishing poles from their Seattle hotel suite window to catch salmon right there in Puget Sound. NYC has the most towering buildings in Manhatten than anywhere else, but from Seattle mountains tower over the city directly from Puget Sound & just go up as high as 14,000 feet! Thats like 10 Empire State buildings stacked on top of each other.

Don't come here. It's dark and scary, it rains almost every day. You won't see the sun for months. In the Winter the sun hardly rises and you feel like it's constantly twilight. The waters of the sound are so frigid they never warm even on a hot 80 degree day in the peak of summer. The beaches are covered in barnacle crusted rocks and jagged broken sea shells. Trust me...

I lived on Puget Sound in DuPont for a few years, and it was amazing. The sneaker waves were especially fun.
