Pukalani Superette - Review - Pukalani - Maui - The Infatuation

"Open for more than 60 years in upcountry Maui, the small grocery is the place to pick up Maui-made snacks like venison and fishcake dip, along with desserts featuring kalo or ‘ulu. But if you skip the hot food, you’re making a mistake. Their bentos are prepared throughout the day, and our go-to is the fried chili chicken, which remains crispy underneath a slightly sweet glaze, paired with chow fun. There’s no other place like the Puk Sup in all of Maui, serving the community with age-old recipes while also incubating scrappy newer local businesses and farmers, so make sure to stop by if you’re coming back from hiking in Haleakalā or heading up the summit." - Martha Cheng

The Pukalani Superette is a Maui treasure, not far from the Haleakala Highway. Not only does it carry a plethora of groceries, it also carries fresh, locally-made foods and hot, takeout foods. (Legend has it the fried rice will cure a hangover.) Additionally, I’ve found them to be the most reasonably priced store that carries Maui-made items you may want to gift family and friends. I paid nearly double the price for Maui Fruit Jewels items at Foodland. Come here first for your gifting needs! And to top it off, all of the staff are so helpful and friendly. Love this place.

Fantastic supermarket. They have a bunch of local items including poke, hot items, and baked goods. They have fresh fruit. The people there are super nice.

Google
One of the best stores on island! Has local produce, good selection of organic stuff, hot food prepared daily with a local flavour! Cakes and pies are so good, and a great selection of different alcohol! Local meats and great vibe! Always makes me sing the song from the radio when i go 🙂 🎵"pukalani superette, welcome to upcountry. Welcome to your easy does it store" 🎶🎵

Google
Getting there was easy and locals said it was a great place to go...and it was! People helped find the things we needed. Loved that they had a small washing detergent (great for a week stay there) and reasonably priced! Also, get their hot noodle dishes! Whatever is under the heat lamps that they make in the kitchen is AMAZING! We got a pad thai of sorts and it was sooo good and such a large serving we used the left over in our breakfast eggs! They had quite the variety of stuff there to get, so even though Google can't say if it has everything you want, I'd go and check because well enough they will have it or tell you where to go and get it. Very helpful people. Mahalo Superette 🙏

Lots of premade food options. Also have marinated meat for grilling. Friendly stuff.

Google
I love to support this place! They carry a truly great selection of items, the store is always clean and well organized, and the prices are lower or equal to all the big box mega conglomerations. Friendly staff and ample parking. Shop here first!

Google
Nice mom and pop type grocery store. We don’t shop here often as we live in town. We like their ham, stuffing, chili and baked chicken, potato mac salad, ready to cook kalbi ribs, tako poke and cut flower selection. Workers are pleasant and efficient. Catering dept is friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Pukalani Superette is a great local grocery store. They have amazing desserts. Available single serve sizes or whole pies.

Yelp
One of my favourite Groceries stores on the Island. Hot food is delicious - Chili Chicken as the others have mentioned is really super ono and was still crunchy even when we picked it up at 3pm in the afternoon. Great selection of Maui treats and some of the produce can match costco at their prices. I was so happy with purchases and can't wait to shop here more!
google avatar

Yelp
A little taste of old school Maui. Lots of ready made bentos that range from $5-$8. Great selection of deserts. They also have ready made coffee. Great find if you've never heard of them before. Such a gem!

Yelp
Really great food to go! Bentos, fried chicken, sushi, namasu, pies...! At the urging of my wife, and since we were Upcountry, we stopped by there even after having our breakfast (at Kula Lodge), then breakfast #2 (at Komoda Store & Bakery), then some wine & food (at Mauiwine)! Really glad I did! Chili fried chicken is a recommendation by the locals - and it does not disappoint. Almost like the Zippy's Korean Chicken - fried really crispy with a lot of sweet chili sauce. A perfect item for bento, or going to the beach, or eating outside at the park. Had the fried rice and that was really tasty too - lots of eggs and bacon. Maybe this combo isn't the most heart friendly - but heck, once in a while is okay I think! Got sushis, namasu, many other types of bentos and takeout - a lot to choose from! I didn't try the baked pies & things - will definitely save that for the next time I'm there!

Yelp
My most favorite place to shop is Puk Sup! The hot foods is worthy of many stories. I loved the spanish beans with rice, and pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. Be sure to pick up the mac salad and pickled cucumbers in the fridge section. The pies nearby are ONO -- we had the mixed berry pie and it was divine! Look no further than the aisle of Maui-made items, like freeze-dried candy (OMG, the ling hi skittles and ube rice krispies), stickers, and coffee. BTW, the coffee here is cheaper than WalMart.

Yelp
Great local Kine Supermarket that has a great variety of local grinds. Fresh poke & fish! Ice, snacks and everything in between! Friendly staff full of Aloha!

Yelp
Inexpensive comfort foods eat, I grabbed lunch before making my trek up to the Haleakalā National Park. We tried the chili chicken which was delightfully crispy, sweet with a little touch of spice. The charsu with rice plate had a touch too much fat for me. The chow function noodles were a bit oily. For a hole in the wall market, not bad!

Yelp
I absolutely adore luncheon Bento boxes, especially when it's Turkey/gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a little side of corn! Pick up some sides like Macaroni salad, cucumber salad and you are ready for a picnic. They also sell local produce that are very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Definitely my go-to spot when I'm on Maui. You can't beat the prices and quality bentos. If it's your first time, prepared to be overwhelmed with the wide selection of good food and know that their bentos move quicker than you can blink your eyes, so grab what interests you and fast! Although they constantly restock, the food seems to fly off the shelves. Ask for utensils during checkout. There's parking in the front, but they also have parking lots on both sides of the Superette.

Yelp
Came here to grab some bentos to picnic at rice park. There was a wide selection of food to pick from, and I got the chili chicken and a side of mashed potatoes. I think they were around $4-$6 each, which isn't bad. The chicken wasn't crispy unfortunately but the flavor made up for it. The mashed t potatoes were my favorite, super buttery and creamy, so don't miss out on those if you see them!

Yelp
If I lived on Maui, I would definitely be a regular here at Pukalani Superette. I love the old school feel and their selection of bentos and pastries. Since this was just our first stop of the day, we just got two pieces of fried chicken - wowzers! It was delicious - super moist and the skin was still crisp. I also bought a cinnamon roll from Home Maid bakery and it was still delicious when I ate it the day after I bought it. If you're looking for places where the true locals shop, this should be added to your list.

Yelp
I do like this little store! It's always full of people and I understand why! A good place to stop to grab a quick hot meal, a dessert, something you forgot from the grocery store... cute store!

Yelp
"Puk Sup" has been around for over 60 years. They carry pretty much everything you need and is a one stop shop if you don't want to go anywhere else. We usually go to Puk Sup for their hot food, poke, namasu and drinks when we are Upcountry. I don't think I've had any food from there that I didn't like but my favorites include their laulau, char siu pork bento and chili chicken. They have weekly specials and they also cater. Customer service is always great. Their employees work very hard and always seem happy. Make sure you follow them on Facebook, Instagram and visit their website too www.pukalanisuperette.com Check them out! :)

Yelp
Cooke store for bentos. Picked up a couple of "Puk-Sup" hats too. Worth checking out for sure!

Yelp
Best place to pick up a bento upcountry. Ono chow fun and dry mein, excellent desserts (must try the lilikoi bars from Patticake's), wide array of side dishes you might need like rice/mac salad/poke/poi/lomi salmon, etc., great chili chicken and breaded pork teriyaki, grocery items and much more. You can even grab a little taste of Thanksgiving every day with their turkey and mashed potato bento with stuffing and corn. Only complaint so far - The chicken hekka is a little on the sweet side (I prefer Lau Hee or TJ's downtown), but that's just a matter of personal taste. Overall, Pukalani superette is a great place for an affordable breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, or dessert. They also do excellent catering. Don't pass them up if you're headed upcountry. I'm sure you'll walk out with something to enjoy.

Yelp
One of my favorite places on Maui to grab food. They serve so many options from bentos, sushi, poke, cut fruit, pastries and way more! My boyfriend's must have is their chili chicken while my favorite is their chicken cutlet. Their food is always made fresh and tastes so good. Although their bentos/food containers are in a heated cart, the food never gets dry! Great place to grab food and its affordable too. Their staff are the greatest, always greeting their customers with aloha. They limit a certain amount of customers that go into the store to allow people to practice social distancing. They also enforce customers to wear a mask. I feel safe whenever I shop here because of their COVID protocols.
google avatar

Tracy C.

Yelp
Stopped by this cult superette for a late lunch en famille after hiking in the area and were lucky to find a parking spot in the car park straight away. They are taking Covid safety precautions seriously, counting people into the shop, supervising social distancing, ensuring masks are worn, etc, MANY thanks to them for providing a safe space for the community to shop in, it is appreciated :) The superette is basically a medium sized extremely well stocked grocery store with a popular hot food section providing cooked ready meals, along with donuts, ice cream, drinks etc for people visiting the area to grab a quick meal. We found all the food tasty and competitively priced: Chilli chicken, a generous serving of rice and chicken - delicious Breaded Prawns - nice sized prawns with a chilli dipping sauce - ditto Baked potato - the cheese and bacon topping was a hit with us Potato and macaroni salad - an island staple and it did not disappoint Tuna rissoles - this was the only one we weren't that sold on but we still ate them...hahahaha. They had the kitchen sink thrown in them and had an odd rubbery texture inside. But they were hot and filling so kept us happy after our hike. The place is friendly, clean, and very popular so don't hesitate to stop and grab some supplies if you are in the area. Pretty great view if you park at the end of the parking lot too ;)

Yelp
Definitely off the tourist beaten path since it is upcountry and not near the beach but worth the trek. This little store has the feel of a rural town market. There are parking spots designated on 3 sides of the wooden building but parking can be tough if you go around the noon hour because those in the know are going there for the same thing...lunch! Every time I have made it there I see all kinds of locals coming and going. Entering gets my pulse rate up because I'm never sure what the hot bento lunch offerings are going to be. There are a couple of warming light tables with multiple pre-made bento boxes. You can expect to find things like Char Siu and Rice, Chow Fun style noodles, Mein style noodles, Fried Chicken and rice, etc. Spend some time looking around and you will find things like fresh Lomi Lomi Salmon, Kim Chee or Ahi Poke' in the cold case and on the room temperature display racks, look for Coconut Mochi and the like. All of it is good, affordable, and surrounded by other staples that small supermarket will have for the local residents. Since I don't live here, making the drive to get lunch here rewards me with a glimpse of local life on Maui and gets me in to an establishment that really feels like vintage Hawaiiana culture. The prices aren't bad either so for a visitor that gets tired of gettin gouged for lunch in the more touristy beach areas, grabbing a meal for under $10 is really appreciated. Definitely on my list of places to hit up shortly after landing when I'm hungry, in the mood for something local, and not looking to break the bank!

Yelp
How can you not love Pukalani Superette? Every time we come back home to visit Maui and stay with my parents Upcountry; we come here a few times. Their bentos and hot items (roast beef, chilli chicken) are reasonably priced and pretty tasty. My husband loves their namasu and I love their lomi salmon, pickled items, etc. Their grocery prices are similar to Foodland; but, when Puk Sup have sales, their prices are very reasonable. My family orders a lot of half/full pan items (chop steak, chicken, teri beef, etc). I notice their prices are pretty pricey for their catered items though. All I have to say is #supportlocal.

Yelp
Old school plantation food FTW! First, thank you Jo Y for the recommendation. Essentially a small town grocery store established in 1955 that happens to serve up some tasty premade plantation dishes. We're talking shoyu chicken, lau lau, chili pepper chicken, meatloaf loaded with fillers and topped with sweetened ketchup. The limited number of hot dish choices are quickly snapped up (go during lunch for the freshest). Some premade bentos, most sold in family size portions by weight. Inexpensive and tasty. Important note: Local food in Maui taste very different from Oahu. A lot of shoyu in marinades and a lot of sugar. Salty and very sweet. (Maui's immigrant mix was different from Oahu. Japanese from Fukushima vs Hiroshima, less Filipinos and Chinese, more Portuguese). The end result, boiled shoyu chicken, fall apart tender and moist but twice as sweet, chili pepper chicken, deep fried and still moist on the inside, the skin soaked in copious amounts of soy, cayenne, and sugar making the skin like candy, chicken hekka strong but very sweet. It goes great with rice. The meatloaf, loaded with fillers just like grandma made it and topped with a very sweet ketchup. No seating. Grab and go. Don't forget your napkins and chopsticks. Do check out the locally grown produce (custard apples, mountain apples, mangosteens, lychee, longan). Finally, understand this is NOT a tourist stop. Respect the locals who are doing their shopping. Don't block the narrow aisles taking pics. Good eats, local food, with a different island take. It works.

Yelp
Great little local spot for prepared foods, small kine grocery items, produce bagged in smaller sizes so you can buy one carrot instead of 20 and dey get poke brah, local desserts like the famous cream horn and pies from Maui Pie Co. They even have tofu poke for you vegetarians! (But not always available.) They've got parking on both sides and in the front. Definitely more affordable than Foodland. Old school charm. Awesome employees. Check it out!

Yelp
I have always gone to pukalani superette as a regular grocery store and its been great but we used them for their catering service and it was excellent! I highly recommend using puk sup for your catering needs. Their catering menu is right on their website and we just went with one of their catering packages. We choose menu #1, their "simple menu" which was $8.99 per person. There is a minimum order for 25 people which was absolutely no problem because we were going to order for 60. For menu #1, you can choose a rice (white, brown, or fried rice with a 50 cents pp charge), a salad (mac salad, potato mac salad, or tossed green salad), a noodle dish (chow fun, chicken chow mein, dry mein, or pork chow mein), a chicken dish (baked chicken thighs, chicken hekka, chicken katsu, chili chicken thighs, korean chicken thighs, mochiko chicken thighs, shoyu chicken thighs, or upcountry fried chicken), and a beef/pork dish (beef broccoli, breaded beef teriyaki, pork and peas, pork hekka, pork teriyaki, or roast pork with gravy). If you are ordering the pork teriyaki, it is a 72 hour notice order. Otherwise, you must place your order within 48 hours. Ordering was very easy. I called 5 days in advance and the only times left for delivery (which was free by the way! awesome!!!) was 8 am or 11 am. So if you would like a better time, (10 would be an ideal drop off time for a lunch imo) you would need to call even more in advance just to be sure - especially if your event is on a Friday or weekend day. One of the best things with the catering package is that plates AND utensils are included! Delivery was quick and our delivery person was wearing their mask. Awesome! Would def use them again for an event!

Yelp
I want to add to the other Yelp reviews about the fab hot prepared food at this store! It's got everything else you might need. The selection of prepared foods here is terrific. Now there isn't a deli section per say, so you'll have keep look around. The hot food section is impossible to miss. It's in the middle of the store and there are 2 steam table carts. Do like everyone else, lift each little bento to see what is inside. A small list of what they make include: chili chicken, chicken wings, roast turkey with stuffing, mash and gravy, roast beef, meat loaf, dry mein, stir fried wide rice noodles, plain white rice, broccoli beef, coconut prawns, and more! In the refrigerated section next to the hot foods are prepared salads, pickles, kim chee, and more. So keep and eye out for the cold food choices. The prices are reasonable and terrific for self catering.
google avatar

Madelyn C.

Yelp
Super unassuming front as it is mainly a grocery store, but the market pumps out amazing bites in their hot food section! We got the chili chicken, fried chicken, wings, and the spicy ahi bombs! All super affordable and delicious. If you come later in the day they will slap on some discount stickers ($1-$2 off) which is what we ended up buying! I'd come back again next time I'm in Maui. I can see these little plates being great for lunch or for a beach day! Pro tip: come in the afternoon (3-4pm ish) to get a couple bucks off your orders.

Kathryn K.

Yelp
Best ready made dinners on the island! I've been shopping here for 3 decades. A great place to get what you need when you're too lazy to go to town. A great place to pick up dinner when you're too lazy to cook. I cook all the time, except when I want a break; then I go here. Great selection of ice cream, deserts, and household needs. I wish they had more organic items (they have a few), but its still a wonderful store!
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
A perfect spot to stop as we made our way back from the national park. Spicy poke was the best I've had the whole time here. Coconut shrimp was solid. But stay away from the Shoyu hot dog bento - way too salty, only good thing was the rice. Also bummed their spam masubi was sold out by noon.
google avatar

Yelp
Our go to stop when in Upcountry for lunch. Parking is not too bad but can be tough at times. They are actually a local mom and pop grocery store but they also sell hot food items that are cooked daily. The hot food items range from roast pork, chili chicken, wing dings, laulau, turkey and mashed potatoes, char siu, chop steak, hamburger steak, teriyaki, chow fun, dry noodles just to name a few. Make sure you go early around 10am -11am because they do sell out quickly of the popular items. My fave items are the roast pork bento and chili chicken bento. They are also known for their tako poke and pickled Japanese vegetables. They have fresh poke made daily, today I saw limu poke & spicy tuna. They support local company's as they carry local beef from upcountry maui and many other items. The staff is really helpful and nice. They do have a catering menu for your party needs and do delivery as well! Can't go wrong!

Yelp
We've been here multiple times to grab hot food. We've loved everything we've tried including the chili chicken, loco moco, local mochi, Cha siu, but this time we left with a bitter taste because of the older woman with glasses at the register. My partner kindly asked for an extra napkin and she responded with, "I put in a napkins didn't you see you were standing right there". I felt like that attitude was totally uncalled for and we asked for an EXTRA napkin so her snarky remark didn't even make sense. Not sure how asking for another napkin caused this woman such distress but it's sad to say there's no point going somewhere where our business is greeted with such attitude

Yelp
Puk Sup is the upcountry standard!! This place is so great. Great variety and prices on everything including local products such as veggies and snacks. Staff is AMAZING and always showing that Aloha spirit. I have been going here regularly through the craziness with Covid and their staff has been nothing but welcoming, treating people with respect and kindness and doing everything they can to help make everyone's day a little better. If you go regularly you know what to get...if you don't that's okay, don't be afraid to just try whatever calls out to you. You can't miss. When you see that green building, pull over and grab yourself something to enjoy and meet the great staff that works here!

Yelp
Yummy take out food! I love this store and the people who work here. It's always a pleasure to shop at.

Yelp
"Puk Sup" has been one of my family's go-to markets for decades. They've been around since 1955 and have basic grocery items, fresh local produce, household goods and amazing prepared foods. They also have a great selection of fresh leis available everyday. I think Puk Sup is best-known for their tako (octopus) poke... so flavorful and the best I've ever had! It's not cheap, usually at least $19.99 a pound, but it's so worth it! My favorite prepared food items and regular purchases at Puk Sup are the: -Tako poke -Chow fun -Chili chicken -Wing ding chicken drumettes -Macaroni potato salad Puk Sup also does catering, and they have quite an extensive catering menu. I've gotten pans of so many things over the years, and they've really helped me simplify party planning.

Yelp
I saw an ad on Maui Now that Pukalani Superette was offering pick up grocery shopping so I decided to give it a try because I was running low on some staple items I sent my list to the store and about an hour later someone called me back to go over the list and tell me which items they had in stock which substitutions they had and which items were out of stock. Most of the things I wanted were in stock, and my order was actually ready in about four hours not 48 hours like they said on the website. When I came to pick up my order staff member put it in my car that

Yelp
Yay, I finally made it in! Because I don't live anywhere near this place, I never had a reason to go in, but we were in Pukalani so in I went. THE STORE: There's a few parking stalls fronting the store, with a newly added parking lot on the south side. The store is stocked with the usual grocery store offerings, on a much smaller scale of course. Aside from being a convenient stop, they're also known for their catering services and bento/plate lunch offerings, which is what I went in to try. I saw chow fun, chili fried chicken, and chicken adobo among the numerous selections. FOOD: Roast Pork - For a little of $8, I got a deceiving looking tray (in a good way) of about 8-10 slices of slightly tender, slightly firm pork over rice and smothered in a light brown turkey-like gravy that actually tasted pretty good, with a tiny helping of buttered canned corn. Good sized portion for the price, but not the best I've had. Shoyu Chicken - $7 and change bought my spouse 2 tender pieces of bone-in skin-on thighs, done in a classic Hawaii shoyu sauce which was more savory than sweet, rice, and corn. Good, simple, and cheap. SERVICE: The male cashier check out was fast, though I didn't receive a simple greeting or thank you, just a price announcement. Really, is "Hi" and "Thank you" so hard to say? A female associate was still re-stocking the plate lunches at the 2pm hour. They do sell a lot I'm guessing. OVERALL: Tasty homemade food, great prices & portion sizes. I'd definitely try more if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Locally owned grocery store. Not very big. But for a small store they have quite a variety. Local vegetables, meats, and bakery goods. I go there all the time.
google avatar

Amos L.

Yelp
We always go there. I mean ALWAYS. It is a good place to find a quick bento. The groceries are a little pricy but we love to support local.
google avatar

Yelp
Very friendly cashier thanked us for shopping there, even though we only bought 2 cold drinks from the refrigerator and a marshmallow treat from the bin by checkout. The superette has hot items for sale, ready made items like stuffing with gravy, pork adobo, fried rice, fried chicken or little bentos of chicken with rice and corn, affordably priced to grab and go. They also cater and deliver! Woo hoo!

Yelp
While working in Pukalani yesterday..........I somehow mosey on down next door to a little supermarket in Pukalani, called the - "Pukalani Superette". What a neat little market.........I wanna kinda say it reminds me of the Takamiya Market in Wailuku (Mahalo Bruddah Dave F. for turning on a Bruddah!). As I strolled into the place looking for forage something to eat, sure enough this place sells pre-made hot foods & bentos. As looked around the hot pre-made foods, I come across something called the "Wing Dings" ($3.57). Yes gang..........Wing Dings!!! So in laymen terms.........it's just little Frrrrrried Chicken pieces with da bone! Ummmmmmmmm, and you folks know me and my Frrrrrrried Chicken! Also while looking further in the store, I come across the baked good section, and see this "Home baked Cinnamon Donut" ($2.29). First thing that came to my mind was........."I hope this is not from the Komoda Bakery", and I also thought about my Yelp buddy Nat N., as she is the ULTIMATE fan of Cinnamon Danish/Donut/ Bun.......whatevers. But hey, we all have our vices...........take for instance me...............I cra cra crazy for custard & fried chicken! Lol! Anyways, while I walk up to pay.........my little snack came out to $6.10, which I thought was a wee bit, "small kine expensive" for what I got, but on the other hand, I am helping a local business, so really I shouldn't complain, because Pukalani is in da country, or sticks if you know what I mean! So what can I say about my little snack? Well, for one thing............the Wing Dings made my heart SING! You can give me a Ring-A-Ding-Ding for those Chicken Wings! Ono! Winnah's! Nice flavor, it came out hot and juicy too! I only wished I had more of it.........and as you can see by my pic, I was in such a rush to chance 'em, that I totally "tapped a wing" before I remembered to take my pic! Sorry gang! As for the Home Baked Cinnamon Donut! WOW! Another hit! The donut was not oily at all............it tasted so fresh & light! And the best part about this donut was there was actually raisin loaded in the donut too! (No worry Nat N., I hook you up next time!) Lol! Well, this store not only sells pre-made foods, but they also sell fresh vegetables, liquor, and other grocery stuff. I also noticed by the checkout stand that they sold fresh banana bread, & Kulolo. For you mainlanders who do not know what this is - Kulolo is a Hawaiian dessert made primarily with baked or steamed grated taro corms and either with grated coconut meat or coconut milk. Considered a pudding, kulolo has a solid consistency like fudge and is often served cut into squares. Wikipedia I must say.............what a neat little store! If you're ever in the area holo holoing...............check 'em out gang!

Yelp
Whenever I travel I like to eat where the locals do and this spot was the perfect place to pick up a quick lunch. They had a bunch of hot plates made and ready to go and as we were perusing the choices we saw a ton of other people doing the same thing. The staff was constantly being out fresh food and to me that's a sign that this place was going to rock! My family got mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken, turkey and gravy, pork, poke and chow fun. While we all chose the meals we wanted we shared and I can tell you everything was tasty! My choice was the char siu pork and some poke and both were very delicious. It's my goal to eat poke everyday on my trip and I haven't been disappointed yet. All of the portions were generous too and a great value, you could easily share family style or pick and choose like we did for a meal. Their menu does change from day to day so if you find a favorite it may not be there every time you go. I was hoping to try their volcano musubi and lau lau but they didn't have it when we were there. Other than the prepared food this is a great store with anything you could need to prepare your meals at home. So glad we found this spot!

Yelp
Wanted to grab some food before heading up Haleakala Mtn. and this place did not disappoint. Hot food comes at 9am. Got the charsu and chili fried chicken. We're from Houston where Asian food is abundant so we weren't expecting the absolute best but it was fantastic! The chili chicken is very flavorful!

Yelp
I got 2 bentos and it reminded me of school lunch. I loved turkey mashed potatoes at school lunch. And the roast pork was mean to. All the schools hanalei, kaawa, haleiwa, haiku, makawao, pukalani, Kalama, king kekaulike so many great lunches. Nostalgia in a bento. Great flavor and texture throughout the whole bento. Prime execution and cherry portions for a bento. And the namasu ho bah! Pipukaula they get everyting

Yelp
THIS IS MY FAVORITE place everrrrrr. They always have the best prepared food. When I'm too lazy to cook, this is where I pick up lunch and dinner. The poke is also SUPERRRR FRESH!!!!!!! And they have a selection of gluten free deserts which is amazing because they are so hard to find. Parking is hit or miss but worth it. There are two lots on each side of the market. There is also a bathroom just in case that is super clean.

Yelp
This is my favorite grocery on Maui. I love the name. The food here is good, especially the deli packaged food. I loved the kim chee, the namasu, the macaroni salad and the ocean salad. Everything here is fresh and focuses on local food and products. If you're in the area, go here, stock up your cooler and take it back to your resort to have all week. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Top rating for our favorite upcountry local grocer! Hot bento box, daily made sandwiches, nice produce selection at good cost, slippers, local beef, poke, health food section, decent beer selection, fresh morning pastries, cream cakes, chicken feed, a red box for DVD rentals, fresh flower lei's and arrangement.... they have it all! This is where all the upcountry locals shop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all da kine!

Yelp
Puk Sup is just the best. I live in Haiku so I dont stop for groceries here super often, but I go out of my way to get food from the hot bar. Everything is SO good. It's my go to when I'm craving fried rice or chow fun. Pukalani Superette even catered my wedding in June and it was a huge hit. Plus, all the employees are so sweet and helpful. Mahalo Puk Sup!!!!
