The 12 Best Malaysian Restaurants In NYC

"Around the corner from Taste Good in Elmhurst, Pulau Pinang specializes in Malaysian-style Chinese food, and it’s a good choice for a last-minute group dinner without the logistical migraine. This no-frills spot has plenty of large round tables, and a big parking lot that it shares with a supermarket. The prices are on the lower side, and it gets pretty lively, with people sharing hearty plates of crispy lobak and hokkien mee with a rich soy sauce gravy." - neha talreja, carina finn koeppicus, bryan kim

Pulau Pinang - Review - Elmhurst - New York - The Infatuation

"Pulau Pinang should be on your short list of useful places for a last-minute group dinner without the logistical migraine. The Elmhurst restaurant has plenty of big tables, as well as a parking lot that's shared with a supermarket—and they serve a pretty solid selection of Malaysian-style Chinese and Taiwanese food, with most dishes under $30. Pulau Pinang is a no-frills spot, but it gets lively, with people passing around large platters of crispy lobak, and hokkien mee with a rich soy sauce gravy. Keep Pulau Pinang in mind for your Lunar New Year celebrations too: they serve lo hei, a celebratory raw fish salad, during the festive season." - Neha Talreja

NYC used to have so many good Malaysian restaurant, unfortunately, most of them permanently close especially after Covid. After trying so many different Malaysian restaurant in NYC for my recent trip, I finally able to eat something taste more authentic and tasty. Great service. Sit comfortably with big group. Will return for the next time I visit NYC.

The coconut was the best part today. They gave the best jelly meat in the coconut and it was cold which was best for the hot day. The food was much better than other places I tried. I still love Pappa Rich but this has become my new favorite in queens if I crave Malaysian food. I'll come back and try their food again but will try other options.

Malaysian and Taiwanese Dishes Love to eat here for lunch or dinner. Every time I go here, I always order the roti canai and beef satay appetizer. Sometimes I would order the thai iced tea for a drink. For main dishes, I would get are the shrimp pad thai, the pineapple fried rice, or the beef chow fun. The service is good. free parking, sometimes the parking lot is busy since there are other storefronts and an Asian supermarket.

Google
Thankful to be surrounded by good Malaysian/Southeast Asian food in this neighbourhood. Tried the roti canai, dry wonton noodles, and the seafood wat tan hor.. the wanton noodles had good sauce and soup, the wat tan hor had wok hey (stir fry heat) and the seafood was fresh, and the roti canai was crispy. Also like that they provide hot tea in a pot. Good atmosphere and they can seat large parties in big round tables too.

Google
It was surprisingly good…. I didn’t have too much expectations to begin with because the online photos wasn’t as appropriate but a friend recommended so here we gave it a try. Food was good and the price was fair. This place will be added to my regular dinning menu going forward!

Google
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food at this Malaysian restaurant is nothing short of phenomenal—each dish is bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The highlight of our visit, however, was the exceptional hospitality. PE, the hostess, greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel right at home. Her attentiveness and professionalism set the tone for a memorable meal. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food and outstanding service, look no further. Five stars well deserved!

Yelp
Good option for Malaysian quickness dish or a full meal. Their flavors are great. My favorite are the noodles dishes; portions! Service is good. It always crowded for dinner but they can handle the crowds.

Yelp
4.5 Stars, rounding up to 5 Stars! What a nice surprise! I was hesitant to try this restaurant since it had mixed reviews. But I'm so glad we gave it a try! I had lowered my expectations for this restaurant, given the mixed reviews, but everything we ordered was fantastic! We ordered both Malaysian dishes and Taiwanese dishes, and they all exceeded our expectations! Also, prices are very reasonable; but with a surcharge if paying by credit card. These are the 10 dishes we tried: ~ Stinky Tofu ($12): the tofu was minimally stinky and could have been stinkier (lol) but I actually like it this way. Flavors weren't overpowering. ~ Clams w.Basil ($21): this was a basic dish and was good. ~ Fried Oysters $19): the oysters came with a side of oyster sauce but honestly, you don't need it. Sprinkle a little salt, and they're delish! ~ 3 Cup Chicken ($19): this dish came out Smokin'!! Be carefully not to touch the plate cause you'll get burned! This may be the best 3 Cup Chicken I've ever had! ~ Fly Heads ($18): someone once asked me if this dish was really made of fly heads....of course, this person was lo fan! Hahaha This dish never disappoints. Ask for it extra spicy! Sooooo good! ~ Belacan Special (Veg w.spicy shrimp paste) ($19): Veggies never tasted so good! Very flavorful! ~ Lamb Rendang ($22): I've only ever had Beef Rendang, so was looking forward to try this lamb version. It was delicious! The meat was very tender and tasty. ~ Curry Beef Stew ($22): the curry flavors were too mild for me, and I wish it had more of a curry flavor but this dish was good nonetheless. Another tasty dish! ~ Shredded Beef w.Scallions ($18): the shredded beef was perfections. Good dish! ~ Mee Goreng Noodles ($12): omg this noodle dish was fantastic! Noodles were perfectly al dente, and sooooo flavorful! ~ White Rice ($2/bowl): note that none of the entrees come with rice, so you must order separately. Note that this restaurant has square tables, as well as round tables for larger groups. ***One strike against them is that they do NOT have Lazy Susans for the round tables. Lazy Susans are a MUST for round tables; making it easier for family style shared meals. There are about 3 round tables, which seats up to 9 adults comfortably (10 if you're all on the thin side. lol). They will tell you that this table seats 12, but honestly, you can only seat 12 people if you have kids and/or thin people. (My party of 10 adults sat elbow to elbow). Free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant. This is a shared lot with the other businesses in the strip mall; including a supermarket. Parking can be challenging on a busy day. Customer service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. On this Wednesday evening, this place was packed! Very popular restaurant! I can't wait to come back to try their other dishes!

Yelp
Overall great restaurant and didn't get too busy while we were there for Saturday lunch. My friend who is from Malaysia really likes this restaurant. The beef chow fun was on point. It had soft, smooth, slippery rice noodles that were perfect. The wok hei was on fire. The tot devoured this dish. I really liked the sarang burong. The taro was shell was very crisp and thick. It had a good amount of taro filling. The chicken was very soft and shrimp was fresh. It was a tad sour, but I am not sure if that was part of the flavor profile. The roti canai - the crepe was large (unlike other places where you barely get anything). The curry was not the best I have had. It tasted a little watered down to me, but it was decent. The House Special Seafood tofu dish was quite good. The tofu was very soft and fresh. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the shrimp was also fresh. The salt and pepper pork chop was a miss. The char kweoy teo was quite good. I would get this again. Would definitely return!

Yelp
Was in the area and decided to come here for some Malaysian food to bring home. Service was friendly and my order was ready as promised. Got the crispy squid, salt & pepper pork chops, Hainanese chicken over rice and roti canai. Fyi, there's an additional 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. I had high hopes but unfortunately, everything only tasted fairly mediocre. The chicken was dry, rice had too much ginger with barely any chicken flavor, the curry was very thick & sweet, roti was not crispy, the squid was bland and pork chops tasted weird & also sweet. Even my kids didn't like the food :(

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect from a Taiwanese - Malaysian restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. As someone from Taiwan, I consider a Taiwanese restaurant to be good if the stinky tofu is good . Their stinky tofu was good, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. I also liked their 3 Cups Chicken, and all of the other dishes we ordered. In addition to Taiwanese dishes, we also ordered some dishes with a more Malaysian flavor (for example, a curry beef stew). The Taiwanese and Malaysian flavors complemented each other very well. All of the dishes we had were very good, and it makes me want to try and discover more dishes here :-)

Yelp
So I came here for dinner after my walk and honestly speaking it was a pretty good experience. The menu is quite big with various cuisines. I went with the Lu rou fan which is a Taiwanese braised pork with rice. It came with a tea egg and yellow radish. I can only wish that the portion was bigger haha. Pork was cooked nicely with little chew. The rice soaks in the fat from the pork which gives it an enriched the flavor of each grain. The chicken was cooked nicely tender with an intense flavor from the curry sauce it comes with. Service was fast, quick, and my waitress was very attentive.

Yelp
Decent place that has a mix of asian flavors. We ordered a few dishes, including pork bean curd, snow peas with garlic, hainanese chicken and bak kut teh. Most of the food was decent, but nothing was really exceptional. The meat in the bak kut teh was pretty tough to me, and the hainanese chicken felt a little oily. Service was pretty friendly and the place seemed lively though!

Yelp
1st time here. Glad we went. Service is really good. Server was very bubbly. 3/5 Jasmine oolong tea- (free) Has a nice jasmine aroma & taste. 3/5 homemade roti canai w/ chicken curry ($8)- Roti too crunchy/flaky. Chicken curry was ok. 3/5 mango shrimp ($25) I got mild- it's sweet & spicy. Comes with bell peppers. Wish I'd known beforehand. Wuda gotten w/o bell peppers. They use unripe mango, which is good. If they used ripe mango, it wuda been even sweeter & I wuda been disappointed. 3/5 coconut rice ($2) - somewhat salty for some reason 5/5 Chicken w/ bamboo shoot ($22) BY FAR, THE BEST dish. I'd come back just for this. The bamboo shoots were perfectly crispy/crunchy, smoky & flavorful. Seasoned perfectly, all the flavors are spot on. What a dish, amazing! I think I'm gonna dream abt this tonight. 3/5 basil noodle ($16) This is drunken noodle. There was only like 2 shrimps in this dish. Definitely can use a much more generous serving of shrimp. It was also too spicy for me. 3/5 Mango sticky rice ($10.38) - Since mango isn't in season, the mango obviously wasn't as ripe as it should be. It was like half-ripe. Thus, it's nowhere near as good as the 1 I had in LA. Also, the 1 in LA had coconut ice cream & more coconut sauce on the side.

Yelp
Returned recently for take-out, and dined-in a few days ago. Good portions, for the low prices, in their lunch options (came with soup), and over-rice dishes. We liked the Beef rendang, Nasi lemak (with chicken rendang, wished there were more anchovies), Salted fish/chicken fried rice. Pinang Udang Mee has spicy, light, shrimp-y broth, al dente noodles, shrimp, fish cakes and other toppings. All flavorful dishes without being too salty. Wasn't into the marinade and texture of the fried pork chop. Hainanese chicken was not as tasty as Batik's for me. Since 2 years ago, noticed the decor has changed. On a cool rainy day, it was kind of cold inside (good thing we ordered soup :) ).

Yelp
We enjoyed lunch there and decided to get take out for dinner for my mother. She also liked the food a lot. Everything was delicious. Service was fine too. We will go back if in the area.

Yelp
We came here on a blistering cold day and was welcomed by a very cheery staff all decked in holiday cheer. Special shoutout to PM whose smile and joyful spirit warmed our souls. The food was spectacular and just what our whole family needed. From the roti to the noodles to the soup to all of the sizzling meat available, couldn't have been happier. Definitely a sweet spot for a lowkey family gathering. Saw a few couples, a few young family, and a few extended family gathering here. Believe they just hit a decade (?) on Boxing Day. We wish them many many successful years ahead!

Yelp
after having been to taste good (my fav malay place in the city), I had to see how this place compared! I think each has their own strengths dishes I liked here: satay, hainese chicken, clay pot pork belly, pearl noodles dishes i'd pass on next time: beef rendang (beef not tender), roti (not flaky enough) , clams (very fishy and sandy :(((( ) super yummy and a good price for how much food you can get! def coming back and highly recommend!! call ahead to make a reservation for peace of mind.

Yelp
This place sees me quite often. The menu items tasted incredible. People here avoid forced interactions. All workers exhibit genuine warmth. I'm truly anxious to go back soon.

Yelp
Ordered take out from them a few times and honestly a solid choice for Malaysian/Chinese food! Our favorite go tos have been their: - friend chicken - curry chicken w. rice - Malaysian pork chops

Yelp
Been here probably 10x for their Msia dishes and TW style dishes. Flavor (and spiciness) on point everytime! Host girl very sweet And decent pricing in this economy. *happy tear* Wouldn't recomm BKT, if u had authentic from Asia before. But everything else tastes good!

Yelp
The service was slow, had to wait like 10 minutes for my food and remind them. I ordered shrimp and scallops and vegetables. Only 1 scallop and 4 small shrimps. Not worth the price to order. Was here many years ago service was a little better the food was not that great either. In all the food was not the best. Ambiance not that great either. Will I go back , not really..

Yelp
Love the food and people. Girls night out. Food and service fantastic. must order the curry pancake fir appetizer

Yelp
wasnt impressed by the food at all and felt these dishes taste like something i could get at chinese takeout. from the satay tofu, sarang burong, zesty intestine in hot pot, fly heads, and spinach stir fry we ordered, i only really enjoyed the fried taro part of the sarang burong and the spinach because it had good wok hei and i still wouldnt order them again. the beef rendang was decent but not anything special. they were also out of the vegetable for fly heads (so we substituted with green beans) and watercress (so we got spinach) and it was saturday lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't eaten from here for years. Got takeout last week and was disappointed. We ordered a hainanese chicken rice which was dry and flavorless and chicken ho fun which was bland. Super underwhelming. Back in the days when it was just Penang, it was decent. Not anymore.
google avatar

Yelp
Pulau Pinang is one of the few restaurants in New York that offered "Yu Sheng" which is a super popular sashimi/salad dish in Malaysia and Singapore around Chinese New Year. I called ahead of time and was pleasantly surprised to hear they do offer it so I brought my husband and grandma to experience a taste of Malaysia! Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly host and seated almost immediately. We ordered the Lucky Salad, Sweet n' Sour Red Snapper, Seafood Crispy Noodles, Taiwanese Meatball, Balacan Kang Kung, and Butter Medium Shrimp (salted egg shrimp basically). Loved loved loved the lucky salad!! If it is chinese new year, you must get this for all the prosperity and other wealth that comes along with this!! It was actually my first time trying taiwanese meatball and definitely really liked it as well - a bit sweet yet interesting. Balacan Kang Kung is a little salty but nonetheless good. I could probably do without as much oil. Salted Egg Shrimp and Seafood crispy noodles I think I could've done without because the shrimp was salty, too salty even though it IS salted egg shrimp but it is what it is. Just not something I would order again. Seafood noodles.. bland and not quite what we expected. Overall, great service and would return again but for their other items.

Yelp
It's been a while since I visited! I used to come more when it was still called Penang, prob two management generations ago. In its latest incarnation they still focus on Malaysian food though offer Thai and Taiwanese options as well. Maybe not the most acclaimed of the Malaysian options nearby but they have the most space and large tables to accommodate groups! For my recent order I got: - clay pot pearl noodles: this a dish made of handmade rice noodles that are hand-rolled so the center of the noodle is thicker and ends taper off. If you eat in at the restaurant this comes cooked in a clay bowl but ordering to go you get the plastic take out container like the rest of the noodle soups. These noodles are served in a kinda egg-drop soup type gravy with chicken, tofu, shrimp, fish cake, mushroom and Chinese veg. Pretty hearty and I usually enjoy this since it doesn't feel as heavy as some of the wok-fried noodles. - capitan noodles $12: wok-fried wide rice noodles and thin noodles together with pieces of chicken, fish cake, a Chinese veg (can't recall which one), and crispy shallots. This what a decent wok-hei flavor though I'm tasted like maybe it was cooked with lard and much oilier than I expected. - pinang udan mee $12: yellow noodles with shrimp, fish cake, spinach, bean sprouts and half an egg in a shrimp broth. I enjoyed this, the soup had a strong shrimp flavor and paired well with the noodles and protein/veg. Would order again. 3% surcharge on credit card payments.

Yelp
Tried this place as a replacement to Taste Good bc Taste Good's letter grade went down. Not as authentic tasting. My husband and I were both disappointed. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Consistently great food through the charge of hands. Always clean, great service & absolutely delicious food.

Yelp
I visited my parents before my dad's departure to his motherland and decided to have Malaysian food. We chose this location because of the parking spot and bigger space. When we arrived, we noticed that the counter was moved towards the back. The owner's daughter served us, and it was quick and poppin'. We ordered the roti canai, and the roti was not as crispy as expected. The satays were good, filling, the pork was better than the chicken. The crispy noodles with seafood hit the spot. We will be back for sure because the family loves parking convenience.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Friendly staff and food was prepared in a timely manner. The Hainanese chicken was perfectly cooked- the meat was moist and smooth. The sauces complimented the dish perfectly. Malaysian pork chop - tender pork chops drenched in a sweet and sour sauce. If you like sweet and sour pork (the Cantonese dish), you will enjoy this as well. I got the lunch special and it came with soup. Large portion (great deal!) Roti Telur- It was ok, perhaps a bit too doughy. The curry sauce was solid though.

Yelp
Expertly cooked, fresh, and consistently great. We've been going here and ordering from Pulau for 7 years and it's always our favorite. Prices have gone up, but so has everything - they're clearly keeping the quality top tier. Don't trust every 1 or 2 star review you see - people don't understand what it takes!
google avatar

JiHae L.

Yelp
I went by this area, which has many eateries and a supermarket. There's a parking lot there, too. I was going to get pho with a friend of mine, but I saw this place, and I haven't had Malaysian in a while. We decided to come here and there was a menu outside which helped us decide. The Roti looked appetizing, judging from what the neighboring table got, so we ordered it. For drinks, the waiter asked if we wanted a lychee jelly drink that sounded refreshing, and it was. It paired well with our meal. I got the hainaese chicken with chicken rice. I'm so glad that I ordered both. The waiter recommended the sponge gourd with bean curd, which was just okay. Overall, I thought they had great service and good food.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
I bought a take out and the first thing I noticed was the smaller container on soup. When I usually order noodle soup, it's either in a big quart size or at least 3/4 filled on the quart size and not in a pint size soup. I'm thinking it's fine since my bowl is smaller. When I actually open my noodle container I couldn't help but laugh. The amount of protein is barely there. Two pieces of small shrimps with the digestive tract still intact, two super thing slice of fish cake and inside the soup had two sliver size pork/beef and also half an overcooked boiled egg. I did take out since I didn't feel like cooking but I ended up adding my more eggs and shrimp on my end so I still had to cook. The amount of food you get is pretty bad. I will probably not come back here for this. I'm adding 1 star cause the staff was very friendly and another star I only got to try this one dish. I can't say much on the rest but be aware. #42 Pinang udang mee soup
google avatar

Alvin Z.

Yelp
Reliable Malaysian Chinese spot that's been in Elmhurst forever. Ordered the Spicy Scallion Chicken today which tastes very much like a standard stir fry dish (ex: the chicken in broccoli and chicken) though there's definitely more scallion flavor here in the oil. Good amount of chicken pieces that were cut into thin strips and ample amount of scallions. The spice pretty much only came from the chilis in the dish; it was not spicy throughout. Still, very good deal for only $9! Service is very kind and fast though it can get busy so you may need to wave them down. They've also renovated so it feels a lot more airy, clean, and comfortable.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and mostly good food. Some of the vegetables were not great but they are a busy restaurant but worth the wait.

Chia L.

Yelp
2025 Jan 26: 1) seafood egg Hor fun 2) satay chicken 3) red braised tofu whole fish. Chinese New Year music is playing on the loudspeakers. The fish will take a big space so they moved us from a two seater table to a four seater table. We added two bowls of chicken rice when the fish came. Best fish is the satay. The rice is not fragrant enough.

James O.

Yelp
Tofu with sponge gourd。Great dish! Love it! Penang 61. Pinang Char Kway Teow. Mediocre at best. Not authentic. Not enough eggs. The noodle is too hard too chewy, likely a Thai variety.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Had the curry chicken and nasi lemak lunch special. Both were delicious. The roti canai was alright. The thai tea and iced coffee were great. Their newly renovated interior is beautiful. Friendly staff as well.
google avatar

Jesse Y.

Yelp
Nothing special but your average everyday Malaysian restaurant. Oyster Omelette is super fresh and definitely worth trying however, the rest of my meal was was pretty bland. The two lady servers were very kind but if I'm speaking honestly, there's a couple Malaysian restaurants within a few blocks which is better in taste.
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Food was pretty good though we didn't personally like the fish cakes as much. But the noodles and satay were really good. Food is worth it. The store looks a little dilapidated from the outside as it's a crowded area but the inside looks new and clean. There wasn't that many people when we went. The service was fine, no issues.

Yelp
Amazing ,Malaysian food ,!!! Very nice service ? Need to be there again .feel like I am in Malaysia

Yelp
So rare to find a Malaysian place with vegan options! The menu is a mix of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Malaysian and to be fair most of the vegan friendly dishes were Chinese (ALWAYS ask if the tofu has egg!) - but still, this is the only restaurant in the neighborhood where I've been able to have any Malaysian food at all. Excellent friendly, accommodating service and a nice interior atmosphere to boot. Top choices: vegetable curry, mango tofu, si gua/sponge gourd - again, if vegan, make sure to get regular tofu instead of egg tofu
google avatar

Catherine Y.

Yelp
The food is very good and the service is friendly, but the portions are getting smaller and smaller by the day.
google avatar

Ivan T.

Yelp
I had a chili chicken lunch special it was good and not too spicy for me and it comes with a small soup. For $9 I think it is also a good deal
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
They are available on all of the apps but I like to support local restaurants and not pay exorbitant fees so I phoned them. I called in my order and the lady was so fast she nearly hung up on me after I asked for the first item. I have had their food before but on this occasion I got the following. Hainese Chicken Rice- It's a healthishy option so you don't feel terribly bad about ordering out. Roti Canai- If I am ever in the area I would stop by just to have this as a snack. Light and flakey. Thai Iced Tea I got there in about 10 minutes and just as you would have expected the food was ready.

Yelp
It has been a while haven't been on this neighborhood especially where Pulau Pinang commercial center located. There are so many Asian restaurants within the area but to tonight we were on a Malaysian food trip. My vegan son visited the place multiple times and enjoyed how they served their tofu satay. He recommended for us to try and we were not disappointed . For entree, we tried sautéed Chinese brocolli with salted fish, seafood pan fried noodles and celery/bamboo shoot tofu. Of course we ordered cups of plain rice to go with it. A simple combination but perfectly matched and filled us up happily. The pricing is very reasonable. One good thing of coming to this neighborhood, competitive prices to most of the restaurants and worth staying to any place. Tonight, this Malaysian restaurant is well recommended. May taken back of its presentation but the food taste is amazingly delicious. Tip: if you pay by credit card, additional 4 percent. Paying cash is suggested.

Yelp
Food/Drinks: I absolutely love the portions of everything because family-style meals are my favorite kind of meals. We ordered an array of things from the Roti Canal, Hainanese Chicken, Hokkien Char Mee, and many more. Every dish was truly amazing and full of flavor. There wasn't a single thing I didn't like. The Roti Canal truly tasted like my mother's cooking which is why I liked it so much but that doesn't take away from all the other dishes. No one dish tasted the same which is why I was able to enjoy it so much more. The array of flavors and seasoning from each dish created a wonderful balance in my mouth and left me satisfied for the night. Service: The servers were extremely nice and very prompt. It didn't take long for all the food to come in which I always enjoy. They were also very attentive which always feels great. Ambiance: Again, I absolutely love the family-style meals and the place had a nice round table to seat all of us. I liked how the place was practically in the heart of Queens and it had such a nice vibe to it. It felt cozy and clean.

Yelp
This is one of the areas that I like going to when it comes to Asian restaurants, there are plenty of them here and because of the competition the food prices tend to be very reasonable and fair. The only downside of this being a very good food place is it Is always crowded and there are always a lot of costumers. I was with my wife and son when we went to this area so we have decided to go to this specific place as they have good vegan option according to my son. It has been a while that my wife has not eaten a seafood pan fried noodles so that was what she ordered, I preferred sautéed Chinese broccoli with salted fish and my son ordered tofu satay and bamboo shoot tofu, naturally we matched all of it with plain rice so as to better taste the delicious flavors of all edibles that we ordered. We were never disappointed with their palatable food, service was quick and fast, and I will repeat it again, price is reasonable and fair. We had a very good time eating dinner in this place.

Yelp
The food has been consistently delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The delivery lightning fast as well, but that may depend on where you live. Overall - I've tried an assortment of their dishes and have been utterly satisfied! Hokkien char mee Fried wonton Hainanese chicken Malaysian pork chop Hakka braised pork belly & (A few dishes I can't remember) were all very tasty. They've gained a forever customer.

Yelp
Food was excellent while the rating is an A. I would have given it 5 stars if the ambience was also great. But if you are a foodie like me and my friends you will come here to try it. Frkm Manhattan it was only 2 shirt blocks from the subway station - R train. From the roti and it's dip, to okra, noodles, morning glory, hiananese chicken to coconut shrimp and coconut rice, everything was delicious. Hope you order what we did.

Fayh S.

Yelp
First time here with family for quick lunch. We ordered roti canai, beef satay and pork satay as appetizer. The roti is very crispy and delicious, the satays beef and pork are delicious. Highly recommended it. We have to order extra to go. :). The curry mee are delicious, the Panang shrimp mee it's ok. Hubby order chicken and shrimp noodle and they let us change to noodle which is awesome coz hubby don't like hor fun. The asam laksa mee it's decent also. We all love the kangkung balacan. I was craving for ABC and they said they have it but not in the menu:). So it's like ice kacang. I love it.

Yelp
My friends and I walked to Elmhurst on a late night in search of a restaurant that was open past 10pm. We were glad to find that Pulau Pinang closed at 11pm. Located in the large supermarket parking lot, there were a lot of vacant spots as we came after the supermarket was closed. They have both outdoor and indoor seating at this time. We opted to dine outdoors during this meal since the weather was nice and Ben was feeling nostalgic for eating in these type of awnings on a warm evening LOL. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They took our temperatures before we were seated & sprayed our hands and the soles of our shoes if we wanted to use the bathrooms as well. We ordered the taiwanese stir-fried udon (63), seafood with crispy noodle (65), and hainanese chicken over rice (123). My favorite was definitely the seafood pan-fried noodle dish! I've had better hainanese chicken & not a big fan of sacha sauce (Ben is tho), so I would personally order something else next time I return!

Yelp
It's my first time trying Rendang and Malaysian food in general! This chicken Rendang is delicious 10/10! For someone who doesn't eat beef I'm glad they have a chicken version of this dish. Workers there are friendly and my to go food came out quick! Willy be back and try more food from this restaurant.

Yelp
My wife and I visited this place on Wednesday. This is one of our favorite places to enjoy Malaysian food. Excellent dishes, very polite and friendly owner and staffs, joyous atmosphere makes everything else even better. We had seafood scrambled egg chow fun, cereal shrimp (this is yummy), beef rendang(this is one of the dishes listed on Guinness book), roti, Young Chow fried rice(very tasty), and two Thai iced tea. Rainy is one of the waitresses there and she is very uplifted and possesses positive vibe. Call her name and she will give you a thumbs up with a sweet smile!
