Pulperia Santa Elvira

The food is amazing and incredibly creative. Each dish is thoughtfully designed to combine local ingredients in such impressive ways. I especially loved the seaweed, the rabbit, and the desserts. The service was also very warm and friendly. Our colleagues recommended this as a must-go restaurant, and they were absolutely right. We flew in from New York, and this ended up being better than many Michelin restaurants! Thank you team for the great lunch

I'll write a review I wish I had read. Chilenean cuisine is not a strong one. That's the reason why you don't find chilenean restaurants in global gastronomic centers and why Michelin guide isn't here. With that said, any foodie like me should align their expectations as to what they will find in Santiago. Pulperia is definitely on the highest end of what the city has to offer. The place is authentic, inside a house set with a local style. The staff all speak English, which gives away that their main public are tourists. And the prices as well. It's expensive even compared to top tier european restaurants. That is definitely the deal breaker: the exorbitant price. Clearly it's being invested into the plate deco aiming for award recognition. The food is creative, pops to the eye, but completely unbalances with the lack of flavor that doesn't meet up with all the rest. The portions are so small you'd think you're in a french restaurant. I left half full. If you have a lot of extra money left in you're traveling plans and really want to have an experience of what Chilenean cuisine has to offer, Pulperia is where I'd recommend in Santiago. Not if you're looking for a tasty, satisfying meal.

Contemporary, Gourmet, WOW! An un assuming house,in a working class neighborhood, hides a charming, character filled restaurant of amazing inspiration and gastranmic delight. The flavors are intense and yet finely balanced. Every dish, including the serving dishes are crafted with thoughtfulness and a respect of their natural origins. Seasonal ingredients drive the small but creative menu. Chupe of pumpkin, walnuts and a frthed goat cheese is amazing inspiration of flavors. The fish with a puree of vegetable and seaweed simply delightful. Dessert of orange sherbet buried in a foam of light cream and Chilem mole was light, a delight on the pallet and not overly sweet. Service was attentive and engaging helping you understand the creative ingredients and thought behind the dishes. Pulperia Santa Elvira,a must gastranmic experience in Santiago!

We had an amazing dining experience here! One of the best meals we’ve ever had :) The food was so creative, thoughtful and flavorful. Our waiter, Max, was engaging, friendly, and really made our experience spectacular. Im happy to report there were plenty of vegetarian options as well! What a great introduction to Chilean cuisine. P.s. when we got to the restaurant it appeared closed, just ring the doorbell :)

Lunch and dinner again… Ate at CORA, BORAGó, Yum Cha, La Calma, etc, etc….hands down Pulperia Santa Elvira is the best restaurant in Santiago. Thank you chef for 2 amazing meals 🙏🙏

Excellent food in a really cozy and typical environment. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, absolutely recommended.

I would agree with the generally positive reviews. Super creative plates that are also, you know, good; reasonable prices, cool atmosphere. Definitely worth a reservation and a try. That said I didn't find it to be in the same class as the top/similar restaurants in Lima and Bogota (which is ok, but since many will come here from the Top 50 lists, I want to draw the comparison) -- some of the dishes were a little less coherent/challenging to eat (like had four components without clear suggestions for how to combine). The mushroom ice cream dessert is a stand out.
