It's been 15 years since I stepped foot into a Punch Neopolitan. The experience has even improved a great deal over the years while still maintaining what is the heart of this delicate restaurant. I recently moved back to MN and have raved about this place as no other place; even 800 Wood Fired Pizza in FL couldn't hold a candle to Punch. The staff (I feel as though the term in and of itself isn't as personal as the experience received when dining here) are impeccable in their service and well rounded in their personalities. My excitedness was embraced by these lovely people and to my delight, I was brought a plate of artichoke dip with fired up dough to enjoy on the house as a "welcome back gift." This is again my weekly spot. Not just for the food but the people and the ambience.

Google
Awesome Neapolitan pizza. The toppings are fresh and flavorful and crust is chewy. We loved both the number 6 and number 13. Good amount of salami and spice on them and we ordered pepperoni mushroom to see how it would taste.

Google
Finger-licking Pizza Heaven! 🍕🔥 Tried some amazing Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and OMG — my taste buds are still dancing! 1. Margherita with Mozzarella di Bufala – So fresh, so yummy! The crust was perfectly charred, the sauce was tangy and rich, and that creamy mozzarella just melted in the mouth. Simple but SO satisfying! 2. Cortina (Mushroom, Garlic, Gorgonzola, Sun-Dried Tomato & Oregano) – BEST. PIZZA. EVER. Bold, cheesy, garlicky goodness with a burst of flavor in every bite! That gorgonzola with mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes? Chef’s kiss! 👨‍🍳💋 Every slice was pure joy. Crispy edges, soft center, and that smoky wood-fired flavor took it to the next level. Can’t wait to go back for more! 🍄🧄🧀🔥

Google
Loved the casual pizza joint. The pizzas are reasonably priced and perfect to share or eat on your own. Loved the brick oven and just tasted great. Cant wait to come back. Only thing I wish they had some beef options but understand the perfecting of a smaller option.

Google
Cute place with a lot of character and charm. The pizza is 7.1 out of 10. I found it a bit bland. If the sauce had a bit more flavor, it would make a big difference.

Google
This is one of my favorite patios in northeast Minneapolis. I needed a nice place to stop after a walk on The Heritage Trail. Punch Pizza was the perfect place. There is plenty of indoor seating and adequate outdoor seating. Very nice environment. Delicious pizza. The dietary choices are a little restricted but do-able. I opted for vegan, so I got a crust topped with sauce and veggies and it was exactly what I needed.

Google
Punch Pizza delivers a remarkable dining experience with its flavorful, wood-fired pizzas and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The crispy, thin crust and unique toppings make each slice memorable. The casual atmosphere and friendly service add to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommended for pizza enthusiasts!

Google
Been here 4 times & tried the ancona, puttanesca, cortina & built my own pizza. With the exception of the cortina which I thought was kind of dry the other pizzas were amazing. Service is also very fast given this is a busy location.

Yelp
I love Punch and you should too. NE Punch has a parking lot and the best patio ever. This location is perfect for everyone! We bring visiting relatives here every summer The food will impress all of your foodie people, and satisfy your fussy eaters. Maybe warn your elders about the thinness of the pizza.

Yelp
I have yet to experience a Punch pizza I actually enjoy. I just don't like their style of water center pizzas which seems to be at all locations. As for this location, the pizza was served hot and fresh and the tables were all clean and a good ambiance.
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
First time at this location and loved it as much as the others! The pizzas were delicious, I got my usual Toto, and service was friendly and speedy. The restaurant was super clean as well. We also were excited to find out that they have a super cute patio! It was so nice to be able to eat outside here during the summer. Dedicated parking lot is a plus in this area as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Always a fan of Punch! I took a friend for the first time and we sat outside at this location and it was such a nice patio area. I always get the Napoli with pepperoni and goat cheese with a side of parmesan and olive oil. This location is nice because it has its own parking lot. Even with the construction, it is still pretty easy to get to and plenty of parking even if you have to park on side streets. Service was quick and they came by a few times to check in on us.
google avatar

Ingi E.

Yelp
My favorite pizza style and Punch consistently does it well! This location has a nice layout and a pretty outdoor seating area. Service was great and the Bruno with mushrooms instead of onions is a new top choice for me at Punch!

Yelp
I was CRAVING pizza and had never stopped at Punch Pizza near my apartment. I had walked by several times but always assumed it was just a chain and wouldn't like it. Oh, so wrong! What a great little spot to get wood fire pizza! We have two different kinds. The staff was friendly, and they pushed out pizzas so fast. Both were flavorful with a great crust. Don't shy away from punch like I did; get yourself some Neapolitan pizza!
google avatar

Yelp
Always enjoy Punch Pizza! During meal times, most locations are busy and bustling with orders. I enjoy the consistency at different sites. Although, each site has different photos and art. Always have good service when ordering and receiving my order. My Order Their margarita pizza is always good with a salad. I enjoy the Cesar salad and appreciate the light dressing. Parking I worked remotely nearby and walker over here for lunch. Parking seems to be only street parking. I'm sure during the summer it's an even busier time!

Yelp
I was helping a friend move out of her apartment near by and we needed a quick lunch. We stopped in to get takeout. The line was long and they were busy. The workers were still really friendly and the pizza was done quickly. They are decent sized pizzas. The Maximus had a little spice to it which was nice. Overall, definitely a good pizza place.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Punch Pizza has great pizza and was very quick in making the order. I recommend stopping by if you're looking for a good-sized pizza for yourself or to share with a friend.
google avatar

Ken T.

Yelp
Stumbled onto Punch Pizza as I was exploring Minneapolis. The pizza was good. The Maximus was good and had an unexpected spicy kick. The service was fast and the place pretty clean. On a related note, the pizza boxes were kinda cool.

Yelp
punch pizza is the best pizza i've ever had. the margherita pizza is delicious and the portion size is good. their pizzas range from $9.40 to $16.65. there are a ton of customization options. employees are very kind, attentive and welcoming. i've dined in and taken out, both were great experiences. food is always prepared on time, and i've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in line. highly recommend! overall rating: 10/10
google avatar

Madison H.

Yelp
Great food! Easy parking with the lot outside. Gluten free crust was delicious and tasted pretty authentic compared to the regular neopolitan crusts.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Punch recently lowered the price of the Margherita from $13.95 or so to $9.40?! Hall of fame absolutely GOATED Northeast staple. This literally never happens, but these maniacs did it without sacrificing any quality. Still as good as ever. Absolute kings.

Yelp
Boyfriend and I were in MN for a fun little weekend trip. A friend I go to college with said punch pizza was a MUST TRY. We decided on this for lunch and I was excited. Upon arrival it is very confusing as a first time customer. We told one of the employees we had never been and she welcomed us and kindly directed us to the menu! The menu was a little confusing, but I admit I'm also not the brightest, so I was confused on 1/2 of the ingredients, and what all the Italian (I assume) words were. We looked over the menu then went to order, this time it was another employee, he seemed annoyed and irritated that we were even there, and gave us some attitude when we ordered. When our pizza came out a 3rd employee helped us out, he was very kind and had a smile on his face. We opted to take it to go as we wanted to relax in our Airbnb. Got back to our apartment (and I know all food is best freshly made; so I kept that in mind) pizza was good, and I'm sure fresh it would've been better. However, it was comparable to blaze pizza, so to me, nothing super special. Don't think I will be back, but it was nice to try :)

Yelp
Italy is calling for their pizza back! The pizza they put out is at least as good as in Italy. Simply, just great wood burning oven pizza. A hybrid walk up counter/sit down/serve yourself.
google avatar

C.E. T.

Yelp
Without too much bustle, finally there is a REAL Italian Pizzeria. Even more, la vera Pizza Napolitana. For many reasons. First of all, the brick oven. The Trade Mark. Second, but most important the tomato Passatta o tomato puree sauce and the fine ingredients. Nothing strange or insulting the Italian tradition. And, third, the varity of pizza presentations in the menu. BRAVO! By the way, the Margherita Pizza is delicious. The name comes from the Chef, back during the years of Queen Margherita de Savoia, who, honoring her, with the colors of the Italian Flag, prepared that Pizza for the first time. Count also with the smiles and best service. Will be back!
google avatar

Dan F.

Yelp
They absolutely nail the personal woodfired pizzas, my only complaint is that one isn't quite enough and two is gluttonous
google avatar

Nicholas R.

Yelp
This was such a cool little spot to come across! The brick oven in the restaurant was beautiful and really made for such a nice ambiance. I ordered a 'build your own' margherita pizza and added pepperoni and garlic. The texture was just thin enough and soft enough that the pizza didn't fall apart, but you also didn't feel like you weren't eating much. The brick oven really crisps the crust and the underside of the pizza that you really, just, can't get everywhere.

Yelp
Punch pizza is a hidden gem in Northeast. They offer incredible variety of Neapolitan style pizzas with high-quality ingredients. Where else can you get real pine nuts on a house salad? Not only is their menu bursting with flavor, the prices are very reasonable and offer a great date night on a budget! Whether you prefer to build your own or pick from their preselected list, you can not go wrong!

Joseph W.

Yelp
the pizza my girlfriend ordered made me throw up. I'm pretty sure it was because of the charred taste to it from how it was made. worst pizza I've ever tasted.
google avatar

Temi A.

Yelp
My wife and I loved coming here! You have the option of building your own pizza or picking from the menu. There are other locations in the city, this one specifically had outdoor seating, which was great! It also has indoor seating as well. They make wood fire pizza, which I'm usually skeptical of, but was super satisfied by this!
google avatar

SharI A.

Yelp
Excellent pizza!! We had a half & half and ate the whole thing! The crust was right in the middle of thin & thick - just right. Toppings were good & we added basil & oregano. Definitely coming here again.
google avatar

Cameron B.

Yelp
The only thing keeping this from a 5 star review is how long the pizza took. We sat on their beautiful nook of a patio. It felt European in how quiet and secluded it is. It took about 20 min for our pizzas to be ready, which is a bit longer than I'd hope from a fast casual place like this. I got the craft your own Margherita with sausage. That's my go to order, and it is absolutely fire with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I'll definitely be trying one of the signature pizzas next time. The Toto looked good. Street parking in busy northeast.
google avatar

Sheri S.

Yelp
Pizza is pizza but good customer service is sometimes hard to come by. I mistakenly thought that I ordered half a Greek salad and a half margarita pizza but ordered a whole pizza and a Greek salad instead because they don't do half orders. - silly me! The salad was great the pizza was huge and definitely could not finish it but the salad and pizza complimented each other very well. I explained my mistake and the head guy understood and said he would take care of it. They gave me a to go box for my large pizza and adjusted the bill without hesitation, which was such a kind gesture. Thoughtfulness and good customer service will definitely keep me coming back.

Yelp
Of the cities Neapolitan pizza joints, this is by far my fave. Though the center of the pizza can sometimes get soggy due excess sauce and toppings, it's still all very tasty. While they offer several specialty pizzas (Vesuvio is my fave), you can also build your own. This time I went with the latter; margarita pizza with spiced salami and goat cheese. FYI the salami isn't spicy. I also went to with the small punch salad which comes with bread (the pizza crust) with Rosemary on it. While it is good I wish they would either chop or ground the Rosemary.... a piece got stuck in my throat. Anyway, there's indoor and patio seating and they even have parking along the side of the building. If you haven't yet, give it a shot.

Yelp
It's been a few years and Punch is still some of my fave pizza in the cities for all the reasons. I love Neapolitan-style pizza, and Punch is efficient and skilled at producing it. The pricing is reasonable for the quality too! I still stand by my original review from 2016. Even when lines are long during peak times, they move quickly. And it's worth the wait anyways for their bubbly charred pizza crust and authentic crushed tomatoes in lieu of overly sweet acidic sauce. I love their choice of toppings, and I switch them up often because it's hard to settle on just one combo. Each pie is about $12. But today, I took the wary plunge into trying their gluten-free crust. (Note: they cook it in the same pizza oven so it's not entirely GF if you have Celiac's). And thank the gluten free pizza gods, it was delicious! The crust was thin, crispy on the outside, and soft and toothsome on the inside. One of the best gluten free pizzas I've had! It's made with rice and tapioca flour and tastes/feel pretty true to the real thing. Yay, Punch!

Yelp
Horrible experience at Punch tonight. The 'boss' came to our table, angrily and without apology, telling us we had to move because this wasn't their patio. We had just received our food after waiting 45 minutes in line and 45 minutes for the food (we were told the salad would come first and it didn't come until 15 minutes after the pizza). When I asked whey they couldn't have told us when we first sat down so as not to interrupt our meal he said he had just learned of people sitting here and 'can't we see this are two different restaurants????' He was so rude, horrible customer service, angry and accusatory. It isn't the customer's responsibility to know where to sit! They asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating! The tables next to the building were all full. Why couldn't they have put a sign to let customers know where the Punch seating was, or tell us the patio seating was full? We were not the only Punch customers in the 'wrong' seating area. Unbelievable and ruined our whole meal. And besides, the line was incredibly long, we waited 45 minutes and two parties got to the front only to learn Punch ran out of gluten-free crust and had to leave, having wasted their time. Put up a sign! The service was horrible, the boss was the biggest jerk. Will not visit again and will let people know about how they treat their patrons.

Yelp
It was sooooooooo gooooooooooooood neapolitan pizza. Their oven, I think it uses wood, makes the pizza perfect.

Yelp
After visiting Europe my wife and I had been looking for something similar to pizza in Rome, this was the first we found that was comparable in quality, taste, and price...fast friendly service and tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great family pizza meal here last night. Pies are really light and fresh tasting. Small beer selection still had a real winner in it, and the new cashier n training was patient with us. Sat outdoors under the pergola.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for Neapolitan Pizza!! Always fresh and delicious. The staff is awesome too!! Every time I visit the twin cities, I must come to this Punch location!! They also have a good selection of wines and three beers on tap! There is al fresco sitting too!! Great spot, awesome pizza!!

Yelp
This was stop four on the NE Walking/Eating Tour. Now, I'm strictly a Sicilian pizza girl and never considered punch to be worthy of my time. Well, that changed completely with this visit. The rigor by which the pizza-making process is guided guarantees a delicious pizza each time, and you can taste the difference. The pizza had a nice balance of cheese, sauce and toppings (olives and such were on ours). The salad was a perfect accompaniment to the pizza and deliciously cleansed the palate. The pizza crust was thin and crisp, without any greasiness from the cheese. While I shall forever be a Sicilian pizza girl, I've now got room in my heart for Neapolitan pizza, too.

Yelp
I. LOVE. PUNCH. PIZZA. I've never had this type of pizza until I moved to Minneapolis and man I was missing out. For the past two years, punch has been there when I was happy, when I was sad, and most importantly when I was hungover. It has made me forgive my boyfriend on numerous occasions and has made me remember all that is good in the world. I usually go to the one in NE because it's the closest to my place and it has parking! (However the one in stadium village is like a $1 cheaper.) My go to is a half order of the punch salad and the matozzi with arugula added on after. The rosemary and sea salt focaccia is so good, luckily they only give me a couple otherwise I would eat a whole order. Make sure to dip your crust and focaccia in the olive oil and balsamic. It's the bomb.com. Just go to Punch. It'll be worth it.

Yelp
this is the best pizza that i have ever tasted in my entire life if there is a better pizza then that pizza is fake cuz this is the besttttttttttttttttttttttttt pizza everrrr

Yelp
Fairly priced pizza. Last time I went the pizza came out a little cold but they use quality ingredients and the staff are very kind!

Yelp
I've been to punch pizza for least 50 times in the past 8 years. They're pretty consistent when it comes to taste and service at large. I would've given full 5 stars maybe 4 years ago. They are getting poorer in quality over the years. I know they are boasting the fact that they pay the highest minimum wage to its workers. I even remember seeing the owner being seated right next to the First Lady Obama during the president's state of the Union address for voluntarily increasing the wage for its workers. I went to eat there with my family today and noticed they haven't changed the price. So where are they getting the pay increase? Definitely by cost cutting. Half the pizza was just dough no topping not even sauce, there was a time I used to get full by eating the whole pizza, I wasn't all that hungry, but I was anything but full, why? Because the size has gotten smaller and not much on top of the pizza anymore. It's a cheap trick to pull off. I would've preferred if they kept the quality as it used to be and increased the price if they really needed the extra money. Tricking the customers thinking they didn't change price but changed their size and quality is just wrong. I'm getting consistently disappointed with them these days. Highland park location is just simply better all the time, so I'll check it out soon and will update my review. I have tried pretty much everything on their menu over the years and my favorite is chopped Italian, margherita with 3 of my favorite toppings and hazelnut panini. Speaking of which, their panini tastes worse every time I try it. The new workers are not skilled enough to make it right is my guess as to why.
google avatar

Kara L.

Yelp
What's not to like? Expect wood fired pizza with a little chew to the crust topped with good quailty ingredients. The salad options are fantastic and come with a couple slices of rosemary flatbread. The service is lightning fast and friendly too. It's a simple concept that's well executed and offers a beer/wine selection. The pizzas are big and could be split by two people but I notice most people get their own. The crust is thin so it's not over filling. You can have pizza for lunch and not need an afternoon nap on your desk at work! I'm glad to see new locations popping up around the metro. It's a fast, casual, and flavorful meal without a punch to the wallet or gut.

Yelp
This is my second time to this location. I am now about 4 blocks closer to Punch with a new position at Target, so I am sure I will take more trips across the Mississippi to try out more of what Northeast Minneapolis has to offer. I forgot how amazing this place was. We were on a team offsite at the Minneapolis Central Library (Which is really nice by the way) and for our lunch, we took a walk across the Grain Belt Hennepin Ave. bridge. From the Minneapolis Central Library, it was about a 15 minute walk. I ordered a marinara pizza, which was garlic shavings and herbs with no cheese, plus I added anchovies. (My favorite pizza topping) I also got a soda and the total was under 10 bucks. Nice! Our order came out in about 10 minutes because the place was hopping! There was a line out the frickin' door on a Thursday afternoon. That says a lot about a place! The pizza was amazing! The crust was crispy, yet doughy and I asked for some parm, which they had no problem giving me a side of which seemed like fresh shaved. My boss ordered a regular pizza with sausage and pepperoni and onions. Sometimes when I get my pizzas without cheese and I get a regular one, it is like heaven. This was the case. The flavors were just flowing with that slice of pizza. Great service and the pizza runner that took the pizzas to tables were all awesome. I probably should have gave this place 5 stars on my first review. Love this place!

Dalal D.

Yelp
Probably the best pizza I've had in Minneapolis when I want to have an authentic Italian one. With great options to add on the pizza, fresh ingredients and really friendly staff members makes my experience every time here a pleasant one!
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite pizza places in the TC. The space itself is warm and welcoming (and smells amazing), has a great patio, and even has a few parking spots! Since the pizza is made Neapolitan style, the wait is usually no longer than 10 minutes. To start your meal, I recommend splitting the punch salad. It's delicious, generously sized, and served with seasoned pizza dough slices (sounds weird, but they're delicious too). I haven't tried many of the pizzas (I usually stick with something classic like the Toscano), but it's hard to go wrong here. You could get away with just ordering the salad and one pizza for 2, but the fun is ordering 2 pizzas to try different flavors. I haven't been to other Punch locations, but I can say that I love and recommend this one! Especially on a spring/summer night when you can enjoy the patio.

Yelp
I ate here few times: the taste is authentic wood baking pizza. Nice location, good service. My friends' Kids ask for their Christmas gifts to be from Punch : you get one free if you buy five....

Yelp
Sadly, we haven't been to Punch in two years since going vegan. Prior to going vegan I would give them a five star rating. Always had the Mimi before because I liked the caprese topping. I keep checking the web site to see if they are offering a vegan Mimi.... Seems odd they don't especially since a local company (Herbivorous Butcher) makes a great mozzarella.

Yelp
Why wait two hours at a gourmet pizza restaurant when you can get an equally as delicious personal pie at Punch?? This place was bumping on a Friday night, line out the door! However, we only waited about 15 minutes to to get through and order, and pizza was ready in 8 minutes. Beautifully wood fired with a crisp outer crust and thin, soft interior. This location has a quaint outdoor patio that turns casual pizza night into a romantic date. I ordered the Vesuvio (which I ate before I remembered to take a pic unfortunately), and it was my first time trying salami on a pizza and I may never go back! Boyfriend ordered a custom pizza and we also split a salad. One of my new favorite pizzas places I've tried in the area and will be putting it in my frequent restaurant rotation.

Yelp
I love Punch! Their style of pizza, Neapolitan, is so different and so good. The Nordeast location doesn't disappoint. Recently ran in for weekday takeout, and they had me in & out within 10 minutes. Efficient, friendly, and delicious. Get the Bruni! You won't be disappointed. They even have off street parking, which can be hard to find sometimes.

Yelp
Before I dive into my review, interesting (and applicable, I promise) back story to my first visit at Punch Pizza. Last year, I lost my wallet in NE Minneapolis, and a kind individual (who happened to work for Punch) picked it up from the ground outside the restaurant. They found me on FB, and I ended up going down to Punch to retrieve the lost wallet. Not only was I forever grateful to that person for being honest, and taking my wallet into safe-keeping, but I also remember how AMAZING it smelled inside Punch. Fast forward to today, when I finally got the opportunity to eat the amazing-smelling pizza. And damn. It tastes as good as it smells. I ordered the #5, "Toto", prosciutto, arugula, goat cheese, and garlic. It was a beautiful combination of flavor that I'm sure to dream about in my sleep tonight. The pizza comes out FAST (5 minutes), so it's the perfect lunch spot! Finally, the atmosphere is super cozy, and feels more upscale than you're typical fast eatery. For around $10-$12 per person, it would also make a reasonably priced date night (just add a couple beers?) Recap: Five stars, Two thumbs up, Their employees rock, Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I go here regularly and savor everything about Punch! For having as many locations in MN as they do, they've done a great job in personalizing each location. Oddly for as delicious as all of their pizzas are (especially the NEWER gluten-free crusts...I like them even more than the original crust!), my absolute favorite thing to eat there is the Punch Salad! But if you were to twist my arm and ask what my favorite pizza is, then hands-down, it's the Borgata (eggplant, goat cheese, kalamata olives, & their imported san marzano tomatoes!) Punch MUST be the fastest "slow food" around. Even if there's a long line coming out of the doors, your wait time is still relatively quick (I once arrived just after a bus of soccer boys unloaded into Punch and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my wait time went). The Italian music, artwork, smells, flavors, and ambiance carries the perfect balance to dine at with friends, a date, or a large family.

Yelp
The total package when it comes to pizza. Quality service, ingredients, value, and ambiance. I live in Omaha and come here once a month or more. Too bad they don't serve breakfast. The employees are happy and there's not a lot of turn over; which I like because it means they take care of their people. They eat here too so it's that good. My favorite is the pepperoni and a salad but I've had them all and they are all great. #1 of the 15 or so pizza places I've been to in MSP. Definitely worth a visit. Cheers, Glen Weaver.

Yelp
This is a great Punch location. The Neapolitan pizzas are delicious and rigorously checked for quality. If one comes out less than perfect it is remade! There is usually a pretty short wait for your food and it is brought to your table at this location which is nice. When the weather is good there is a nice courtyard to eat in with tables, umbrellas and plants. There is a parking lot in back which is super convenient (and unusual!) to find in this part of Northeast.

Yelp
Amazing place, people, and pizza. New Minni pizza fav. Service was killer and kind, cozy atmosphere, bomb pizza quality.
