Dusek’s Refreshes With a New Prix Fixe Menu in Pilsen - Eater Chicago

"For folks who don’t have time for a four-course meal, Pfeiffer is also launching a new bar menu that will also be served in the basement bar, Punch Room (as well as the side piano bar Tack Room). Look for mussels, sticky wings, and a smoked trout Caesar. There’s also a classic smash burger with a “completely secret” sauce." - Ashok Selvam

I want to start off by saying that the Punch Room is an acquired taste. Yes, this is the only one in North America and the other would be in London. With that being said, I feel like you need to know what you are getting into. I personally did not exactly enjoy the different punches they offered, but the welcome punch of the evening happened to be my favorite. I personally am more of a whiskey or bourbon neat kinda guy, but figured I should try the punch anyway... Guess that might have been my fault 🤷🏻‍♂️ Now, they do have a very extensive selection of top shelf spirits and are more than willing to make you whatever you want. The ambiance and decor make it a relaxing environment to enjoy a good drink. It's a very low key vibe but you can definitely dress to impress. They do not serve food here at all, but I would say this is a great place for an after dinner drink... Like, when you want to wind down.

I recently attended my cousin’s 40th birthday celebration at The Punch Room at EDITION in Tampa, and the experience was nothing short of stylish and memorable. From the moment we stepped into the space, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between chic and welcoming. The interior was beautifully designed with elegant modern touches—sophisticated lighting, clean lines, and a relaxed yet upscale vibe that made it feel special without being overly formal. The setup for the birthday gathering was perfect for a social event. There was a well-curated selection of drinks and finger foods that felt intentional and thoughtfully presented. The cocktails were creative and expertly crafted, with a nice range of options to suit different tastes. The bartenders were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, taking time to recommend drinks and chat briefly while staying efficient with service. The finger foods were light, flavorful, and beautifully plated—exactly what you’d hope for at a stylish lounge-style celebration. Everything from the savory bites to the more refreshing options had a gourmet feel, with high-quality ingredients and a touch of artistry in presentation. It was clear that care was put into both the menu and the experience. The staff as a whole really elevated the event. They were professional, accommodating, and genuinely friendly. They kept everything flowing smoothly, whether it was clearing used glasses, refreshing food trays, or helping guests feel comfortable. The overall service made it easy to relax and enjoy the occasion. The Punch Room at EDITION is definitely a standout venue for intimate celebrations or upscale social events. It brings together elevated ambiance, great hospitality, and attention to detail in a way that makes any occasion feel just a little more special. I’d absolutely recommend it and would love to return for another event or even just a stylish night out.

Very nice quiet upscale atmosphere. Came here for a friend's birthday. I don't drink but they had a nice selection of mock-tails. Service was a bit slow and had to go up to pay bill but it's definitely a laid back slow paced place.

Beautifully designed location for an intimate drinking experience with your date or friends. While there, some were pre-gaming for the Tampa Bay Lightning game, some on a date, a family reunion during the Christmas week, some who live in the condo that is part of Edition: Tampa. All having a great time. Professional & friendly server. All punches and drinks made fresh at the bar at one of the room. The lighting and colors of the furniture are striking. Quiet area where you’re not rushed and can have a conversation without yelling or hearing another table’s conversation. I’ll definitely go back.

Came with 4 friends and were ready to spend some good money and celebrate. we were sat quickly even without a reservation which was really nice. The complimentary welcome drink was a surprise and really good. However, the man that was serving us was unfriendly and passive aggressive. He was not helpful in giving us recommendations. My friend has dietary restrictions and instead of giving us a different option of the drink he basically told her to get a vodka soda… i understand having a bad day but he was fully taking it out on our table. when we asked for the checks he didn’t bring one of the cards back and when he finally brought it to us there was no apology or any kind of sincerity. would not come again it was just an uncomfortable experience

The punch room is located on the second floor - accessed by a winding staircase. The entrance is not as conspicuous as you may think, and when you enter, it is a dim room with great blue and brown aesthetic which continues to allude to a speakeasy. I thought the service could be better - we were not greeted at the door, the bartender and the waitress weren't as enthusiastic or welcoming when thinking of a "5-star" experience. The waitress didn't care to explain the menu and just told us that the "Tampa" punch was popular. The complimentary punch was nothing special. The Tampa punch was really good and it was worth it - It's $25 per person and you get about 2-3 drinks out of the punch each person. Great aroma and flavor and it was served with a beautiful ice cube with marigolds and a pineapple leaf (i believe). Overall, I would recommend for the punch bowl, shared drink experience but I am not sure if would stay longer than one bowl.

Google
Nice intimate cigar like bar. Furniture was teletubbie green and blue. Other than that, it was a great evening. Great bartender. Would enjoy another event there.

Yelp
Sexy, beautiful spot hidden in the Edison hotel. We loved it. Everything we tried was amazing, and the whole vibe made you want to stay and hang out for hours. Note, no real food options, just bar snacks, so know before you go.

Yelp
I really liked Punch Room. It's a beautiful speakeasy style lounge with comfortable seating, an electric fireplace, beautiful lighting and great service. The drinks are excellent but you're paying NYC or Miami prices, which really isn't acceptable in Tampa. Yes, I am taking a star away for the prices which probably isn't fair. I should have known that going in. But when your cheapest drink is $25 - including your non-alcoholic punch - you really don't understand the city you're in. This was a Friday night in downtown Tampa and the place was empty. Why? Perhaps because there was a country music concert at the arena and that's just not the right crowd for a place like this, but that's also kind of the point. That's Tampa. This was my second attempt at coming here. First time was shortly after they opened and I didn't have a reservation and they were packed. I really feel like that once the new car feel wore off, people just weren't willing to spend $50+ on one round of drinks. I mean, go with your partner or a friend and 2 rounds you've already spent over $100 and that's if you only got the punches and not a flight or one of the other drinks. They sell a scotch there-Ardbeg 25 year-it seeks for around $1000 online. They sold it for $100 for a 1/2 oz, $175 for 1oz. Yes, that's a half shot (or a 1/3 shot depending on where you normally drink) for $100. Sorry, you're in the wrong city. My favorite NYC speakeasy is a place called Death&Co. The drinks are amazing. Bartenders are artists. And yes, you can spend a lot of money there but you can get drinks for under the prices of Punch Room. Okay, enough about the prices. Again, the drinks are superb. I got their principe de ... something. It was a Smokey bourbon punch. I actually found it a bit unbalanced but I still really enjoyed it. My wife's drink was amazing. I don't remember which one, but I think it was the frenchy punch. So, it was a great visit but it's just too pricey for me for Tampa. If you know that going in though, you'll love it.

Yelp
Came here on a 1st date. Definitely was the right space and vibe for one. The menus were a great ice breaker to use as conversational pieces. We received a random welcome shot which is random but cool! After, we ordered two rounds of drinks. The second round I didn't like my drink and got a different one recommended by another server/bartender. My date definitely enjoyed the chickpea complimentary snack. My date mentioned how they didn't add that drink on the bill. We were both shocked . Definitely will be returning with my friends.

Yelp
If you like pretty cocktail lounges you'll love this place. It's small and pretty. Quiet. Nice place for a date or a girls not out. No food options and very small inside. I made a reservation for a Friday night in late July, didn't need them as it was fairly empty.

Yelp
$25 cocktails, $25 cocktails, $25 cocktails, $25 cocktails, $25 cocktails, $25 cocktails, $25 cocktails. I can't stress this enough. It isn't even like you get massively over poured or the drinks are out of this world delicious. Instead it feels like you're being massively ripped off. The decor is very good, but this place really isn't my scene. You can at least cuddle up with a date, but you're better off drinking outside on the street at one of the many outdoor seating spots along Water St. Way over priced. Won't be back. You're better off at Arts room across the hall.

Yelp
You're in for a treat when stopping at the Punch Room for a cocktail. The service is amazing, the mixologist takes the time to learn about what you like and make a recommendation. Alma de Mexico - such a refreshing cocktail with a nice punch. Principe de Gales, Cuba - my favorite! If you enjoy Old Fashioned or Manhattan, you'll love the perfumed smoke. The ambience is like a speakeasy. Highly recommend getting the bowl. Cheers!

Yelp
Love this concept! The staff is knowledgeable and executes their craft well. A welcome punch starts your journey and staff will guide you through this experience. The vibes are very chill and reminiscent of a speakeasy. I recommend the signature milk punch.

Yelp
This place is just cool, interesting and chill. Being a lady of ..an age....I don't often want a busy, loud bar. I didn't know I wanted the Punch Room and it's vibe, but god, I really do. Upscale, quiet, sexy, classy, cozy are the words best used to describe the decor and mood in the Punch Room. I'm pretty sure it's reservation only, and that helps keep the vibe right where they want it. The menu is filled with a variety of punches to drink. You can order a punch for one person, two, three, four, etc. The larger the number of people drinking it, obviously the more punch you're served. We found ordering for two per punch resulted in more servings of punch per glass, if you catch my drift. Ordering two or more also gets you the 'punchbowl' experience, which I loved, with the antique silver bowls. We tried Tampa- very light, refreshing and easy. This one is going to be liked by everyone Venezuela- My favorite! Balanced, fruity and sexy with a salt garnish, this one was the best Sailor's Cup - think 'refreshing coffee' and that's it. Very tasty drink, but not my favorite Royal Trading Co- this one tasted sort of like a Penicillin drink without the ginger kick. Very good! If you've got the $, and you want a chill, upscale vibe for drinks, with terrific craft cocktails, hit up the Punch Room.

Yelp
A beautiful venue. Interesting punches to try. Our visit was ruined by a group of very loud, very drunk 20 somethings dressed way too casually. It was clear they were highly intoxicated and were served anyway. One literally vomited on the floor inside this upscale lounge. Our evening was ruined by this. So disgusting and unbelievable they were allowed in and served in the first place. Prices too high for this nonsense.

Yelp
This is a great spot for a ladies night or an intimate date night. I really love the decor. It reminds be of a speakeasy. Especially with the fire place! Reservations are recommended! I made them a month in advance with my reservation to the rooftop restaurant. You need a reservation to go to anywhere in the edition. I love the concept of the punch room. It is exactly as it sounds. We were greeted with a welcome mini drink and that was a nice preview of what they offered. The punches were $25 pp so we had 7 people we got two punches and everyone paid $25 each. It was plenty to go around. We got the rose punch and the Tampa punch. The rose was on the sweeter side with floral notes and the Tampa had a Smokey mezcal taste. Both were delicious. The only thing I wish they had was dessert. That would be a perfect to go with the punches. Great service!

Yelp
Elegant. Innovative. Intimate. Private. These words all describe Punch Room and it is unlike many things in Tampa. It feels like you've escaped from a growing city and into a real one. The cocktails pay homage to history of Tampa with unique drink selections, all featuring different punches. The menu took months to develop. The service was superb with a friendly server and staff that was exactly what you would expect at a high-end hotel. I loved the decor, the chairs, fireplace, the stunning bar, and everything else about the ambiance in the lounge. The price is $25 per drink (+ gratuity) so this isn't a place you will go and save any money, that's for sure. I thought the drinks were superb, but I also wouldn't be shocked if other people in Tampa disagreed with the price-point and I think it's fair to say that the prices are not approachable to most citizens of Tampa. I am willing to pay for quality and the quality was definitely there at The Punch Room. Hopefully they will maintain that quality along the way. For many The Punch Room at Tampa EDITION may only be for a special occasion, anniversary, or birthday gathering, and that's a little unfortunate from an accessibility point-of-view. I believe locals should also be able to partake in Tampa's future without breaking the bank. There should be a locals night or happy hour that only goes to citizens of Tampa to help them also enjoy the new things in town without being left behind. The reservation system is a little screwy, you have to make a reservation online and they will call to confirm, but I was promptly on time at 7 p.m. for my reservation and the place was completely empty. They'll have to figure out how to solve that problem.

Yelp
Just give this place ALL the stars! The bartenders are amazing, the decor is fabulous, the drinks are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy =) I also learned about what constitutes a 'punch' (not what I would have thought). Everything about this place, including the glorious staircase to it, is worth making a reservation for. Can't recommend it enough. Go, just go...I literally want to go to the other punch rooms across the globe it's that awesome.

Yelp
Intimate and stylish lounge located on the second floor of the Edition Hotel. Like everything in this hotel, the lounge is stunning! Well designed and really makes you forget you are at a hotel bar in Tampa! We tried three different punches and thought they were pretty good ($25 worth, probably not but I know you aren't just paying for the drink). Some of the mixes were certainly interesting and not what we would expect, but overall good! Service was great, prompt, and of course they pay very close attention to detail. Fun to get dressed up, take some pics, and maybe even people watch at this fun new hotel!

Yelp
A nice intimate tucked away lounge on the 2nd floor of the edition. I was a bit underwhelmed with the space, as Instagram made it seem a bit bigger and bolder than what it was. The menu serves a diverse array of punches inspired by the carribean. The only reason I would come back would be to enjoy the sailors cup. It is honestly the best drink I've ever had in my life. I will say each drink is priced at 25 dollars each. Do with that info what you will. No small bites and no single bar seating. Service was attentive and we were very well taken care of.

Yelp
Amazing place for a drink. They do not serve food. Just really good fancy drinks. Pleasant atmosphere and calm environment. Thank you

Yelp
Updated review, original is below as reference. Review has been updated, a few days shy of one month, Punch Room has refunded my money. I did receive a call stating that they were replacing their reservations team due to multiple issues. Now for actual review of Punch Room. Our reservation was for 1130, we arrived earlier, but were easily able to get in. There weren't many other inside, I'd say 5 or 6 other tables. Chill background music and not a lot of loud talking. We were seated at one of the outer tables, then later moved to the couches by the fireplace. The drinks are unique, unexpected and delicious. When we finished here, we went across the hall and hand another drink just before close. Punch Room is not everyone, drinks are expensive, but I think you are paying more for ambiance and experience. Original review: I had a good experience here, but I am rating at one star until someone actually contacts me to rectify the situation. I booked reservation for Saturday April 28. I attended that reservation. When you walk in we sat at the second table on the the right. A super nice girl helped us with our drinks. After the first drink a gentlemen helped us and we moved to the couch by the fireplace. After this we went next door. The next day, Sunday, my card was charged $50. Shortly after this, I received an email from OpenTable stating I was a no show. I went through the OpenTable steps in which it said it would work with the business to make it right. Next day I received an email from OpenTable they updated my reservation as attended. However, there was no commentary about the return of $50. Since then I have called Punch Room every single day and have left multiple message. No one ever answers the phone or returns phone calls. I have tried to do everything I can to reach someone and nothing is working. I really don't want to have to go down there because it won't be good. I do not recall the drink names, but we ordered, Punch Room spin on old fashioned, something like a gin drink with a clear coffee taste. We can pull the credit card charge up if needed. If this situation gets corrected, I'll update the review, until then it remains at one star!

Yelp
Officially one of my favorite spot for cocktails. I visited with a group of lady friends and we had a blast sipping cocktails and enjoying the ambiance. The punch room has beautiful decor, furnishings and friendly staff. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
I had an excellent experience at this venue. It was pleasantly small and quiet, offering a refreshing change of pace from busier places. Both the drinks and the service were outstanding.

Yelp
Me and my wife came here on a Saturday for a pre dinner drink!! The place serves only drinks FYI and has a very cute almost speakeasy vibe. The decor was very nice and a cute place to take a date for a drink. The drinks were very expensive and not that memorable. The punch was very cool from the looks of it and is different enough to give it a shot. The service was great and has an exclusive feel to it. Overall I would recommend it for a date but nothing more.

Yelp
This place is cozy and perfect for an intimate cocktail experience. Josh was the best. He was super informative with the menu options and had great drink suggestions. Each table was greeted with a specialty drink (just a tasting-- not a full cocktail). We were told it changes daily. I would save this spot for a special occasion and make note that there is no food available in the Punch Room.

Yelp
This place was so highly rated, we took the effort to snag a reservation weeks in advance (they book up!), to get dressed up and have a cool $25 cocktail... But unfortunately, I can't come up with a compliment for the drinks or the value... The space is very cool -- blue velvet, gorgeous fireplace, neat green potions bottles behind the bar! -- and the process of checking in is run well, with on time entry. I do think they may have been short staffed: one server and a mixologist. The place was only half full, but they still didn't get drinks out very fast. And I wasn't expecting like drive thru service. We were sat at 11:02pm. We got our drinks at 11:50pm. We ordered 3 different drinks (vs all deciding on one punch), so it did take time to make each, but... The excitement was officially dead 45 min after ordering. On top of that, the drinks were creative... But not tasty. The jerk seasoning one was an interesting study in savory, but also just tasted like watered down dry rub. But with glitter in it? The ancho chili cocktail was fine but not amazing. I actually liked the smokey sage one best but I was the only one who did. The little sample punch to start was ok... SweetTart sweet? I think we just got em on an off night, but I wouldn't recommend it for a visit based on our experience, unfortunately.

Yelp
I had very high expectations for this room inside Tampa's latest Edition hotel. It was very upscale and the decor is amazing. It is very intimate and inviting in this room. Service was great also. The only thing lacking was the actual punch drink itself. I was not a fan. I liked the idea of the punch bowl but I thought the glasses used compared to the bowl itself were lackluster as well as the taste itself of the drink. The flowers inside were a nice touch though.

Yelp
Great vibe and atmosphere. Need a reservation so that keeps it intimate. Fun drinks- good theme- love the green glassware in the bar and the blue velvet seating. Josh was great and made sure the drinks were flowing and the conversation was fun.

Yelp
Honestly the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. Made a reservation here, looking forward to the event. Out of nowhere they cancel my reservation without notice a week out (planned it with a group of friends, so we're now all out), then when I try to call and figure out what happened they send me to some reservation only phone number where nobody picks up the phone. And I mean nobody answers ever. I have called that number 7 times across 5 days at all times of the day and not an answer. When I call the front desk to see if someone can help me, they bring me back to that number where nobody answers. I've been to the other punch room in London. Was fantastic and never would I attribute the same level of customer service to this location. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't bother making a reservation, they'll just cancel without notice and make you jump to the back of the line 4 months out on a Wednesday at 11:30pm. Terrible.

Yelp
Such an amazing atmosphere/the drinks are great and customer service rocks. if you want to experience good vibes/romantic/professional/chill/ this is the place

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews but we were celebrating my husband's birthday and decided to go to Punch Room for a night cap after our dinner. The vibes are completely off. They should choose a different style of music to play in the background that puts you in a good mood to have a good time. This place makes you feel like you're more at a library and not a bar. While the service was great, my espresso martini tasted like liquified cigarettes and my husband got whiskey on the rocks which didn't taste right and that only contains one Ingredient. As a Tampa native, some places are in over their heads charging enormous prices for a lackluster product. I don't care to pay for a drink if it's justified. We have been to many speakeasies across the US and have never had such a weird experience as we did at this place.
