Punchbowl Inn

Great little spot with unbelievable value for money. The food’s simple but really tasty — the chicken schnitzel was my favourite. It’s got a lovely, cosy old cottage feel, good service, and they’re super dog friendly. We liked it so much we went for dinner three nights in a row.

Needed a place to stay overnight to break up my journey to Edinburgh. This was a fabulous find! Punchbowl staff were amazing, very accommodating and helpful, I was running later than expected as had a nightmare with the M6 at Birmingham end. My dinner was amazing, all the food that came out looked so good!! Just everything about this place is great and I definitely want to come back next year and have more time to explore this beautiful area more xx

My second visit here for a few nights on the strength of a brief visit a couple of years ago Beautiful village location near the Lowther river and estate with a cracking pub serving excellent food and drinks Room was very nice only had a minor problem with the hot water and heating which was soon sorted 😁 Staff and service were great friendly people who were very helpful Will definitely be going back

Squeezed us in just before the kitchen closed on a sunday night. Staff were great with kids and dog! Food delicious and good potions especially for the kids menu which when you have pre-teens, isn't usually enough but adult meals are too much!

I live stopping by here for a coffee when visiting Lowther estate or after an open air pool swim. Yet to eat here but the food looks and smells yummy. Great picnic tables outside.
