Avoid this place if you value good service. The manager, Kritika, was extremely rude and dishonest about our order. We placed a large order over 100 dollars that included two lachha parathas and a tandoori roti, but we were given 2 random rotis we didn’t order. When we brought this to her attention, she actually asked for the half-eaten roti back. Even then, she only replaced one of the two breads; the tandoori roti was never provided. She lied and insisted it had been given to us when it clearly hadn't. She said because we had eaten half the wrong roti she would not replace it. Her attitude was poor, rude, cheap, and extremely petty. We had a bad experience and no one enjoyed their food. When asked for her supervisors number she refused to share. Who ever owns this place please note that this person should not face customers in future - dishonest, dismissive, nasty and rude

GARBAGE - FOOD POISNING JOINT We ordered Chat Papdi Chole Bhature Chaap Everything was gross. RICE WAS SPOILED AS YOU CAN SEE FROM PICTURES. Me and my Wife had food poising after eating at this please. NOT SURE HOW VIRGINIA FOOD SAFETY IS ALLOWING FOR SUCH BUSINESSES TO OPERATE IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA. Someone NEEDS TO REPORT THEM!!!!

Food was authentic Punjabi style and very yum. Only one point to mention, it is within a super store so you can miss it easily. After putting some common sense and a lot of searching we got to this restaurant. Ample sitting space and food was exceptional. Must visit to relish the delicious flavours from Punjab and also replenish your grocery list 😅 Highly recommend!

This place isn’t even 10% of what it used to be. Was my go to for North Indian food. We used to love the chole bhature, kathi rolls, paratha, dal makhani, butter chicken. But now it all tastes like days old food that was microwaved or frozen food that’s being warmed up and served. Gave this place a few tries hoping our bad experience was a one off. Unfortunately, we have been burnt too many times now and won’t be returning.

I have to say I was shocked at how good the butter chicken was. Steaming hot. Lots of flavors and great portion. Thank you.

Guys please save your time and money. Food is really not good. We ordered chole batura and chicken biryani. Cholesterol was black and its not at all tasty. Worst chicken biryani I ever tasted in USA. The mixed cooked baskets rise with some gravy and gave it as chicken biryani. Customer service is not good.. I won't suggest this place to anyone.

PLEASE READ THIS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY This has been the singularly WORST dining experience for me, as far back as EVER. This place should be shut down. The food is deplorable, the service is nonexistent and the selling of products under the Punjabi name is a fraud. I went there today with my family after a fun morning, hoping to have a cultural rewind to desi lunches filled with buttery parathas and hot chhole with flavorful tandoori. Masala chai has to start this fantasy lunch right? They said they were “out of masala.” No big deal, we order regular chai but it comes out (after an eternity) in a paper cup, cold, smelling of turned cooking oil. We cannot drink it. Then comes the chhole bhature. There are probably prison dishes which taste better than this. The samosa chat was literally the same chhole smeared on a sorry looking samosa. Did I mention everything was cold? The parathas were cold, thin, soggy, with filling that I couldn’t even recognize (I had asked for an aloo paratha). The chicken tandoori was boiled chicken with a smattering of tandoori masala rubbed on top. This is a particularly difficult thing to do, spoil the taste and texture of meat with such aplomb. The paneer smelled vinegar-y and was consistent with the theme of the lunch-cold and tasteless. We did complain about the chai while waiting for the food and they did bring us a second cup each, which was more palatable but we couldn’t bring ourselves to complain about the food. We really felt that a public safety advisory needs to be posted outside this hopeless kitchen. If they had any shame, they’d call me to apologize to my family and refund us fully. Are there examples of suing a restaurant for emotional trauma? They not only spoilt our entire morning but we had to look for hajmola to get the wretched taste out of our mouths. Got home to devour some oranges to do so finally. I have no doubt that the sanitation in the back kitchen is deplorable, extrapolating from the strong spoilt oil taste we had in everything. This I do not have proof for but if I were a betting man, I would bet my house on it. The pictures uploaded were taken in my kitchen because I could not stand there a minute more than I needed to!! I wouldn’t go there to eat even if I was paid to do so by a cooking show or reality tv. One star is unfortunately the minimum I can click here otherwise it would have been very different. PLEASE AVOID IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Honestly, I don't know why this place has so many mediocre reviews on Google. Every time I've been to this place, the food has been outstanding! For authentic Punjabi food, this is the best place I've been to so far in the US. Especially recommend all their Chaat - golgappe and aloo tikki chat are my favorites. The golgappe (pani puri shells) are semolina based I believe - the only place in the US where I've had these. Of course, you can't leave without having their special chole bhatoore. Again the bhatoore are made fresh, the chana masala is proper dhaba style. First time I've come across whole spices in chana masala and it just warmed my heart. 10/10 and I absolutely recommend this place to everyone visiting the DC area.

Had a nice workday lunch here a feww weeks ago. Food is great, service is friendly. Be prepared to wait a little for them to put your order together. Not a place if you are rushing to get to a meeting at work and need lunch fast (unless you order ahead). One thing, at this location naan is an extra order, and that rice that comes with your order is about 8 oz tub serving. We catered from Punjabi by Nature for a gathering of about 20-24 people. We got a number of dishes and starters. The food was outstanding and everyone loved it. Samosas, chicken tikka and paneer tikka for starters and chicken tikka masala, lamb kadai, Hakka noiseless, garlic gobi, dal makhani and Delhi chole were all great and enjoyed by our friends. Niharika did a great job of helping us with the menu and coordinating the details for pick up.

The best tandoori chicken in the area! And don't forget to get the chai. Located inside Lotte, I usually get my food to go after shopping at Lotte. Food travels well and stays hot.

Worst customer service. Will literally Nickle and dime you over little things. Asked for extra Chole for bhature bc last time There was spillage in the bag from Chole and they wouldn't do it. RIDICULOUS. Typical cheap Indian behavior.

Food is phenomenal. Naan was thin, light and flavorful, not doughy. The Palak Mushroom and Palak Paneer were excellent. One star deducted for a rather rude person at the counter. She tried to tell me that I did not want to order what I wanted, and I heard her arguing with another customer about his order as well. It is a food court, so the price is slightly less than a regular sit-down restaurant. We were staying at a hotel nearby and came back multiple nights for the tasty food.

It's in the Lotte Market. I get takeout there and it's solid. I've enjoyed the samosa's and the naan mostly and cook my own curry chicken and jasmine rice at home.

This place is inside a korean grocery store. Their south indian dishes are Authentic and delicious!

I regularly visit Lotte on the weekend, and regularly choose to get dinner (takeout during COVID) from Punjabi by Nature, which is saying something because there are plenty of fantastic restaurants in this area. On my first visit, I was recommended the chole bhature, and the chole itself had a rich, complex flavor that I can't figure out, even after multiple visits. It's simple unlike any other restaurant chole/chana that I've ever had. The bhature itself was good, if a little rich to make it my regular order. The parathas are soft and flavorful, and since you get two per order, very filling--not the best option when you're just looking for a light snack, I've discovered, but after a few bites, I'm glad I was able to enjoy two. My favorite dish, actually, is the kadai paneer, which is one of the best I've had it in a while. This is definitely a place I will continue to visit, and after this review, I'm trying to make excuses to myself to visit Lotte sooner rather than later, just so I can get some takeout again.

This review is for their non-vegetarian platter specials on weekdays. Took my parents to this restaurant located in the Lotte market and all of us decided on their non-vegetarian platter lunch special. The platter looked promising, complete with rice, naan and a side of daal (lentils). The butter chicken that came with the platter had a good sauce, however the actual peices of chicken were odd tasting. Many peices were under-cooked. We let the front desk manager know and he graciously offered to give us another bowl of curry, but we declined as by then we were pretty much done. All of their vegetarian dishes coming out of the kitchen looked great. Perhaps we will go back just to try that one of these days. I do know that this establishment has a good reputation otherwise. Will give them another shot one of these days.

I'm South Indian and I have lived in the US for long to know good Indian food. I don't know why there are many bad reviews here, probably I have been a loyal customer till 2017, and when I moved back into the area last week, I went to try their food. Whether you are of Indian origin or not, I highly recommend you try their chur chur naan(stuffed naan bread) with a mix of potato and gobi(cauliflower). They serve with amazing chili pickled onions, butter as a side (yes!), Punjabi style dark chickpea curry and yogurt (raita). I highly recommend that you do a sit-in rather than to-go for their breads cos that's when they taste best. There is lovely seating outside or you could shop at Lotte Asian market (cheaper,cleaner than other Lotte markets and more varieties of tropical fruits and vegetables and greens).Or there is a lovely Korean bakery for you to get your cake samples from. I think even if you are Indian, you can go with good expectations and still come back happy. Do try their chef ‍ specials too! 5/5 AMAAAZING!!!

Worst Indian Food Ever in United States and HORRIBLE Customer Service. I had heard a lot about this place. Recently on November 11th 2021, I ordered 1.Paneer kathi Roll 2.Chole Bature 3.Hakka Noodles. Chole Bature- Chole was smelly and Batura was soaked in oil and felt like my mouth is full of spoiled oil.(when asked to owner her words were...hum ji batura aise hi banate hain.) Seriously!!! She was very proud of serving this type of Bhatura from last 13+ years. Paneer kathi roll- Paneer inside the roll was so sour.(when asked to owner... her words were ''Neembu zyada dal gaya hoga'") Hakka Noodles- It was Soy sauce Noodles or my child named it as Black Noodles.(when asked to owner..her words were.. "hum noodles Soy Sauce mein hi banate hain". Does that mean she use only Soy sauce and no other sauce??) TASTELESS BLACK NOODLES - Order it if you want to drink soya sauce. I mean we always think that if one thing is not good may be the other would be better. Thinking that we ordered 3 items and it was a complete waste of $50 and no value for your money. At last we had to order pizza again to fill our tummy. This is the first and the last time I went to this Restaurant and would really warn everyone to NEVER EVER to go there or PICK UP from here.

Ordered Indo-Chinese fried rice from this restaurant. The rice was soaked in oil, tasteless and bland, no flavor. Nowhere the indo Chinese fried rice as claimed. Stay away from this place, not as good as used to be.

I ordered a butter chicken with naan but they don't do naan only rice and you can't even substitute naan instead of rice. They said rice is compliment so they can't substitute. What the hell im gonna do the the compliment rice if my kids don't like rice. I have been to so many Indian restaurants and never heard about you can't choose or substitute. They are just trying to rip you off with extra money charges. Never ordering from this place again.

Boyfriend was hungry while shopping in Lotte so we went to the food court and stopped by Punjabi. We were instantly greeted by the owner as we walked by and decided to get a chicken kadhai. It was piping hot when we got it (just the way we like it) and ate it immediately. The sauce was deliciously flavorful. We got a side of rice to balance it out and it was perfect. The owner made sure everything was alright and didn't make us feel rushed when we ordered and asked questions. Good food and good service!

They do not pack complete order! Ordered Tawa chicken taka tak the rice was missing ! Will not recommend takeout from here !

While in the Chantilly area one weeknight and desiring Pakistani food, I did several searches on review sites to find that most had poor scores and/or reviews, but this one seemed to have some decent, recent reviews, so I drove to it. Imagine my surprise to not find this place inside the plaza, as I expected, rather the address is for a huge international grocery store called Lotte Plaza. Once inside the Lotte Plaza, there were a lot of ethnic restaurants, including various Asian restaurants. This was inside of the area around the perimeter of the store, but inside the store. When I approached, all their menu boards (flat screen TVs were not displays menus and they had a make-shift curtain hanging between the cash register area and kitchen, to block the view of the kitchen. It just seemed odd, but I gave it a try. They do have a nice, interesting and authentic menu, loaded with many delights grilled inside their Tandoor oven. Their naan was really good! It was thin, but flavorful and sufficient. The samosas were quite spicy and tasty. The ground chicken Seekh kabob was really spicy and flavorful. I really enjoyed the green chutney too... it's chutney made right! The dahl was decent; tasted more like chili. Overall, the food was good and served nicely. The place is horrible... it might be better if it was a push cart on the side of the road, than this place. The service was barely mediocre. Price was fair.

We have always liked the food here but our recent experience was unfortunately one of the worst. We ordered a Kadai chicken, which was very bland. The Shahi paneer had a weird taste to it. The garlic Naan wasn't not cooked well and the butter Naan had absolutely no butter on it. All in all, an unexpected bad experience.

Had their food at a friends place . Lamb Biryani . Seriously they need to do a better job . It was just plain rice mixed with lamb curry . The lamb pieces were tiny . Rice was over cooked . I had their Alu paratha at their restaurant inside Lotte plaza . It is delicious .

I paid $14 for this Chicken Biryani it nearly is about 5 bites! I've gone to several other Indian restaurant & have ordered Chicken Biryani and I have plenty left over even to take home for $15! Don't waste your money !! Go across the street where you will be well satisfied for your money!

GROSS UNCOOKED CHICKEN. Chicken was raw and unseasoned and there was a hair in our bread and when we asked for an exchange they said no refunds or exchanges. 30$ down the drain. Nobody was wearing masks or gloves either I saw the guy sitting up front picking his nose. SO GROSS. my brother threw up last time he ate there. DONT GO ‼‼‼‼

The place is the best one for authentic punjabi food. The kabobs such as lamb and chicken are tasty with fresh Naan or roti. My favorite food to get here is the paratha. They have 3 flavors which are potato, cauliflower or daikon. I like the cauliflower the best but I often get two different varieties per order. The paratha comes with achar, homemade butter and raita (yogurt sauce). The tea is also good.

By far the best place to get your cravings satisfied for Indian food in the DMV region. Have tried several in DC and Arlington area and this tops all. This is a hole in the wall, made to order at a freaking grocery store called Lotte. The flavors for all the items we've ordered have always been spot on. The best part? You can get it to go after you've finished getting your groceries!!! Favorites: dal makhani, most paneer dishes, bae enjoys the chicken dishes, naan/stuffed parathas. Chaat is always great too. I have not tried their rolls of any kind. I would not recommend the regular parathas either as they are just roti. Anytime I go visit in the in-laws, and I am craving some solid fatty Indian food, this is our go-to.

PBN has very authentic Indian food. I like their jus tava paratha a lot. Today, they couldn't make it. So, ordered Choley Bhature. The choley were in dark sauce - Punjabi style.

I tried a plate of chole bhatoore before and it tasted good, however when I ordered dinner size chole (chick peas) again it was terrible taste. The person answering the phone is nice but quality isn't consistent.

Sad to give it a one star, this was my favorite place to get butter chicken. But I found a wire in my food. I just can't. And given some of the poor reviews this place has gotten on cleanliness and hygiene... I don't think I could come back here again. $20 just thrown out.

If I died and went to heaven, I would still want my regular dose of Indian food from here. It is as good as it gets!!! Wish I lived close enough to make it a Lunch habit - But maybe it is a GOOD thing it is far away.. the weighing scale is NEVER happy after I visit them! lol WHERE do I start with the food now! Be it the Chicken Taka-tak, the Masala Chicken Kathi roll, the Pao bhaji or the Naan chur chur.. sigh! EVERY item on their menu is yumminess personified! It's like they bribed my mom to come cook for them..! SERIOUSLY! Nothing reminds me of home cooked food, more than this place does. And the best thing, they serve WHITE BUTTER with the Naan Chur Chur! If you are a North Indian who grew up on Punjabi food, you KNOW what I am talking about.. Home made white butter, fresh and delicious.. I am so sure they have my mom hidden in there somewhere within the depths of their kitchen - who else knows HOW MUCH I adore white butter! We got the chur chur naan with Cauliflower and onions - this is basically stuffed bread toasted in a clay oven, served with some Punjabi Chole (which were the only 'meh' part of my experience) and of course the WHITE butter! The Chicken Taka-tak : A heaping plate of spicy, marinated chicken, OMG! The best thing ever!! The Raita they serve is great too, they are not picky about giving you another little tub for free, if you ask for it.The Mint chutneys are to die for! Both the Mango lassi and the Sweet lassi are awesome. Food can take a while coming out, because they make it fresh. The flavors are ALWAYS spot on! I agree they dont have a PhD in Customer Service :p, heck they probably did not even go to 'customer service elementary school' lol- but if you talk to the owner, he is nice! They specialize in providing great yummy fresh food and dont care if they lose out on the customer service department in the process, which is fine with me! :p I cannot say enough about how AMAZING this place is.. except that I plan to raid their kitchen one of these days.. Need to get my mommy back from them!

I've been curious about Punjabi by Nature, ever since it opened up a section in Lotte's food court (they have another location out in Leesburg). The menu is pretty extensive, offering items such as choley bhature, jus egg parantha, chicken tikka, lamb seekh, rolls, wraps, curries, and even vegetarian options. I tried their Butter Chicken, while the hubs had their Chicken Tikka Masala. The Butter Chicken was more tomato-focused, rather than the thick creaminess that I usually prefer. I did like the Chicken Tikka Masala better, as it had a nice bite to it, and it was great dipping in the garlic/buttered naan that we ordered in addition to. You can also request the spiciness level, from mild to hot; we did medium, and it had a subtle spiciness to it, but not anything you can really notice. When you order a platter, it comes with your choice of naan or rice, so keep that in mind. The rice was a little on the stale end, so I highly suggest in going for the breads. I'd like to try out their Chicken Curry, the Kadai Chicken, and their Biryani the next time. The staff were super friendly, and it's a pretty okay place to get your Indian cravings out of the way when you're shopping at Lotte. +Chicken Tikka Masala +Garlic Naan +friendly staff

It has by far the best North Indian flavor in all the dishes we had. We ordered paneer tikka kathi roll, Chole bhature, chur chur naan, grill soya chaap tikka... and i must say I am impressed with the taste. The only place where you can find soya chaap in this country I guess. Loved it!! 10/10

As I entered Lotte Plaza and walked to the restaurant, I felt I was back in India and was ordering from chat places like Haldiram, Bikaner etc. I am from Delhi and talking to the lady at the counter took me back to India. She was talking the way people in Delhi talk. She gave us recommendations on what to order, and I couldnt wait to try all their dishes. We ordered the following: - Chola Bhatura: This is their signature dish. I have eaten Chola (chick peas) at many Indian restaurants, but nothing comes close to the way its prepared in Delhi. This dish was just perfect. I ate Chola Bhature in Delhi this past April, and I cannot believe that this restaurant prepared it just the same way. I LOVED the Chola/Bhatura. - Malai Kofta: This is very rich in butter, hence, its delicious. - Sev Puri: This is served in a plastic container, and is definitely worth ordering. - Bhel: Server in plastic container and delicious. - Daal Makhani: This is just the way I have eaten in Delhi....rich in butter and delicious. - Paav Bhaaji: This was ok....didnt think it was anything special. I have had better paav bhaaji in New York. - Veggie Biryani: Wasnt a fan....it was mediocre compared to other delicacies offered. My husband ordered 'Chicken Makhani' and cleaned his plate. Dont expect much from the ambiance. Its located inside a grocery store, so you can imagine its not very fancy. Also, dont count calories when you eat here. Indian people believe in adding lots of butter to their food, so just enjoy the dishes and spend an extra hour at the gym the next day. This place is awesome. Just go and try it out!!

Whenever I shop in Lotte (which is a lot), I always make sure that I get some food at the Punjabi By Nature that is conveniently located in the store's food court. There are many great restaurants in the area, but Punjabi By Nature is one you should have on your to- eat list. I love to order the aloo pharantas- huge, and well seasoned with yogurt, various spices, and vegetable pickles on the side. Another fan favorite would be the chole bhature. Chole is very flavorful, unlike anything I have ever tasted. Bhature is one of the best in the area, very fluffy and pillowy. Service is great- the owner is very polite and helpful. Good place for a quick snack. So why four stars? The place is a bit dirty- the tables are grimy and sometimes the floor isn't swept the best. However, the food there is delicious, so if you don't mind the conditions, head on over!

Quality has gone down since the main cook left. I have the veg biriyabi and have had no flavor in it. Someone please step in And put the quality back up to what it used to be

This is a local gem for food North Indian food in the area. It's inside the Lotte Plaza grocery store. the guy behind the counter is super friendly and suggested good dishes for us. The items are on the pricey side but worth the quantity. And dishes are on the super oily side too but I guess it makes it more delectable :) Items that we have liked are chole bhature (chickpeas and bread), parathas, butter chicken, chicken taka tak. Definitely worth trying if in the area.

It sucks when you serve Pani Puri with potatoes and just tamarind paste off the shelf. Terrible! Note to management: Save this place!

I was really hoping for some good Indian food, and even fought my husband on spending so much here. Unfortunately, it amounted to us paying almost $90 for raw onions and what seemed like day old reheated naan. The tandoor chicken tikka was good and so was the rice, but everything else was subpar. I was not ready for the amount of raw onions either. We received at least a whole onion raw in a combination of all our dishes. Half the chicken tikka was raw onion, half the vegetable roll was raw onion, and we received a side of raw onion. I like onion, but this was just a lot. Some of the Indian restaurants around here use jalapeño in their food to add spice which to me is absolutely terrible, and I'd prefer this over the food from this restaurant. Was hoping for more. The search continues for quality Indian food.

I took my father-in-law here (he's a major foodie) and he order the goat. He said it was the best Indian food he has had in the DC area and I may have to agree with him. It was delicious and there was a lot of food for what you pay for. I highly recommend this place and I'll be back soon. Located inside Lotte Plaza in the back right corner.

Chicken Tikka Masala - Good but a bit on the expensive side considering this is not a "restaurant". Lunch buffets of equal quality are ubiquitous for the same price.

On the side, inside of the Lotte in a little "food court". I had the paneer tikka masala. Came with a very small salad and I chose the naan to come with it. I think it is slightly overpriced for the setting, however it was very tasty. There was enough food for me to be very full but not for leftovers.

I love that one of my favorite Indian spots is conveniently located in a food court in Lotte. I've been eating here for years, and I love that they're on DoorDash for when I'm at work and need my butter chicken fix.

I am writing this review after great disappointment This used to be one of my favorite places for chole bhature....so we go there and order a plate of Chana bhatura and then I notice water logging in the kitchen wherein the water was draining into the main counter area, and they were still serving food I mean hygiene????? I ask the lady upfront and she was like water line is leaking and I cancelled my order and she looked at me like I was stupid I mean u guys understand working and cooking like this means that u can make people sick through water and food borne illnesses This place needs to be shutdown big disappointment

This 'used' to be a very good place for authentic North Indian food. Gone are those days, the quality of the food here has gone down the drain. Their signature chur chur naan was so bad and tasteless. Prices increased but they also cut down on all the condiments (butter, pickle, lemon, etc). Tea was just as bad. Kachori was a savior, however the chat was mostly boiled bland potato.

This used to be my favorite goto place for Punjabi food. However the new person over the counter is very rude and unpleasant. I do not like to go to place where they tray people as objects. I hope they change the staff who is the face of the restaurant.

Pathetic!! Pest Issues.., Cockroaches running around the dish. I ordered Dal Makhni and when I picked up the utensil, small cockroaches hiding in the brim of utensil started running around on my hand. I reported it to the staff, but they did nothing except saying "Sorry Sorry". Please eat at your own risk, you might be eating pests in your curries.
