Puppets in Portland

so lucky to have this biannual delight in our little city! this past festival in 2024 was especially beautiful and memorable; such a variety of performances and performers. i also was lucky enough to participate in an object theatre workshop. can’t wait for the next one!

As a brand new resident of Maine, I was so delighted to be able to attend the opening community parade at the start of Puppets in Portland! Me and my family will definitely be back next time for the whole festival. It was fun, friendly and inclusive. And we loved the puppets!!

I love Mayo Streets Arts! Puppets in Portland is only one of many unique programs they offer. PIP is a one-of-a-kind series offering puppet workshops, performances, and even a parade, featuring award-winning artists, and there’s nothing like it anywhere else in the region. Puppets for adults, families, children. It’s like nothing you’ve experienced.

Amazing place with a wonderful and varied program. A real gem in the city of Portland. Not to be missed!
