We haven't tried boarding here yet, but we've had nothing but amazing experiences with the "Stay & Play Grooming" Service. Unlike other groomers, your dog is able to run around and play with other dog friends between grooming sessions instead of being held in a crate, and priced around $100 with an added ear cleaning (and including tip), it was well worth the value. It's very clear that keeping a stress-free and safe environment for the pups is top priority to the staff. At our most recent visit for grooming, they took the time to bring me back to the grooming station with my dog (who is a shy rescue dog) to explain what techniques they use to relax the dog during things like nail trims, which have previously been traumatic/stressful for our pup. They emphasize body language and trust-building to make sure your dog is having a positive experience while being groomed. There were plenty of treats and positive affirmations, and a very gentle but effective grooming environment. Since our dog can be a little hesitant (terrified) with nail trims, it was so reassuring to go through the process with the groomer and see that her priority was building trust with our dog not just getting the job done. Other groomers tend to move abruptly and not consider the dog's comfortability, but I reassure you this is not the case here, and her professionalism as a licensed groomer shows. Our dog left feeling very handsome with both a bowtie for his collar and a "business" necktie option, and a bonus snack off of the sales rack for added assurance that grooming doesn't have to be scary. After a big day of playing with friends and pampering, we have a very happy but exhausted pup, and fully intend to come back for all of our grooming needs. I really love this place, the staff is amazing. I've taken my dog here for 5 years now. They are flexible, kind and my dog gets some playtime while getting groomed. I love the online appointment system. They're also so patient with my 12 year old doodle that is more lumpy and bumpy in her old age. She gets some gnarly warts and they are so good with being cautions and careful when they groom her.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Puppy Love in Ferndale, Michigan! My dog absolutely loves it here and has so much fun every single time she goes. My human brought me here, and I've never felt so loved and pampered. Leslie and her team are pawsome! I even had a new fur sibling because we adopted one from here, and we're working on getting another. Double the fun! The groomers at Puppy Love are top dog! I always leave looking and feeling my best. And when my humans go away, I get to stay at their boarding, where they treat me like the king I am. I love Puppy Love so much! The owners and staff take the best care of your dog. They'll help your dog socialize and get better at being with other dogs, and I would so prefer to bring my beautiful dog to puppy love than have her alone all day at home. I can also travel for work and feel completely comfortable that she is loved by others while I am gone. The facility is beautiful, there are plenty of comfy spots for your dogs to rest and play, and it is a pleasure to go in there for drop off and pickup. It's not just a big, overly lit room where the dogs stand around all day. They put a lot of thought into the soothing lights, beds, nooks and crannies, scents, and sounds to keep the dogs as happy and comfortable as possible. There is no other place I would have my dog groomed either, because of the care and love they put into grooming. For me there is no better place to leave my floofy friend!

My dog, Copper, use to be a research facility dog so some of her social behaviours are unique to the typical domestic dog. I have an upcoming trip in the fall so I started to look for places this summer that I could trust with boarding her. When I started to look up places to consider visiting, this place really caught my attention; I noticed ALL the dogs look so happy at this facility online! I had a good feeling that this was the place to try. Luckily these pictures don't lie. The dogs I've met here are all very well-mannered and content, but most importantly the owner and staff are PHENOMENAL! We have had a few daycare trips so far and the team took amazing care of my dog! Copper had an incident her first visit, but everyone who worked here reacted very professionally to help calm her down. Her last two visits have not had any issue and she seems very happy when I come pick her up from daycare. I'm so happy she is starting to make friends with different breeds of dogs (new experience for her). I look forward to more daycare trips here and I am confident that they will take great care of Copper when I board her for a few days this fall.

My husband and I visited all the best rated and most recomended dog day care facilities in the area. We saw alot of things that turned us away from other dog day care facilities. When we walked into puppy love it was a night and day difference in comparison to what we had seen from other places. The first notable thing was the smell. Every other facility we walked into smelled, but not puppy love. The dogs were noticeably happier then in any other place we walked into. You could see everywhere how much more passionate everyone at puppy love was about the dog in comparison to anywhere else we went to. We are so excited to get our puppy enrolled next week. We moved from NYC to Detroit about five years ago, bringing our now oldest pup Bruce, who had lived with us in NYC for roughly 10 years. We brought a range of experiences with us to Detroit: walkers, play groups, groomers, and vets. So, we had our needs and wishes, experiences good and bad, and we know the real deal when we see it. It took us a few false starts with other places for play, stay/boarding and even grooming to find our way to Puppy Love. It's likely the best referral of my life. Leslie, Stacey and the team there are deeply devoted dog lovers with a core base of knowledge, experience, intuition and expertise that they bring to bear. They have established a large, well equipped, cozy, warm, soothing place -- and focus continually on dogs' interactions, play and socialization, while providing options (both stay, play and sleepover) for dogs of all personality types and ages, those who like to be alone, with humans or with the pack. Later, we introduced our new and second dog Cookie to the mix. She also thrived there. Even more later, we worked with Leslie to re-home a third dog, our little Rosalita, who we essentially adopted. Yes, we have three dogs, and we consider Puppy Love family, as they do us. Cookie and Rosalita play there M, W and Friday and all three dogs groom with Puppy Love. We do long-term boarding often. We've introduced probably 6 friends and their dogs to Puppy Love -- 99% have had a great experience. You may hear periodically of folks where it has not been a fit. Something, Leslie is always happy to address through a mutual exchange of feedback. She and her team know all too well what the other options available in the area are like. Puppy Love is a wonderful combination of romping, safe play space, cozy quarters, naturally lit, staffed by people who love, know and understand dogs -- always ready to help and incorporate feedback. We expect to work with them for as long as we have fur babies in our family. Which, well, will be forever.

This is THE place for your dog to be when not with you unlike the other local place which is like a dog pound. These people actually care about dogs and know canine nature. I can't say enough good things about Puppy Love. You'll feel the joy when you walk in the door.

Took my dog here for a simple face and Fanny cut and the staff took it upon themselves to cut all of my dog hair off! Then had the nerve to charge me $70 in fees because they said he was difficult to deal with. I put it in the notes and no one contacted me. The owner KAREN threatened to call the cops on me because I didn't agree with the actions that were taken without permission and the chargers that were acquired. I will never step foot or spend a penny with that evil lady or business. Negative stars and ten thumbs down.

I use to take my dog there until they charged me $90 for a groom w anal glands. I paid $60 the next time. Done there!

What a wonderful fantasy land for dogs. The staff and facility completely exceeded EVERY EXPECTATION! My Gracie had the pleasure of being groomed by Leslie. Gracie got the haircut of her dreams. My girl suffers from anxiety, but Leslie made her comfortable and took her time. Gracie has the most difficult hair because she is a Goldendoodle. Leslie was able to find the perfect balance of getting her in good shape and saving some of her hair so Gracie could still feel sexy. I recommend Puppy Love ten thousand percent. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful haven for my four legged friends!!!!

I LOVE This place And so does my Dog!! Leslie and Stacy are the bee's knees!! They're so sweet & kind and you can tell how much they love dogs lol it's in their spirit. It's really a Family Atmosphere when you come here. The Space is so warm and welcoming and there's more space inside then it looks like. The space is Always Clean! My favorite part of this facility is that it's NOT a Kennel, the dogs are Free to Roam around and Socialize ALL day long! No Cages for these babies! The Staff is always there with the dogs and playing with them, which is great and you can tell how much the dogs love that. They Offer Day Care Services, Boarding, Spa Care/Grooming (Yes I Said Spa lol) and they even offer home visits! You can hire them to come to your home to walk your fur baby! How Awesome is that?! I literally couldn't even tell you what I would do without them lol, they've been SO great to me!! I DEFINITELY recommend bringing your fur baby here and tell your family and Friends about it too! I'll continue to Bring my fur baby to Puppy Love and ONLY Puppy Love for everything lol.

Unbelievable facilities. Extremely friendly staff. Very accommodating. High end build out. No chain link anywhere. Dog rooms are clear glass. Several different rooms. Outside play area has concrete and AstroTurf. Plus they have a large swimming pool, plus a few smaller pools for the dogs. Lots of platforms, hammocks, and other things for dogs to climb and interact with. No smell. Clean facilities. My Doberman loved this place. Someone is there 24/7.

HANDS DOWN..AMAZING ESTABLISHMENT! These women stayed after their normal business hours to accommodate my deaf/senior dog to get her nails trimmed. My sweet 15 1/2 year old rescue is terrified of getting her "talons" ground and there was an amazing group effort to make this happen. Also, my dog was never socialized and semi-aggressive towards other dogs (totally cool with humans n cats) yet the staff had cleared the entire area just for my baby girl. Thank you ladies so much!! Gypsy and I appreciate your service immensely!

Just took my 8 year old cairn terrier here for the first time and she came back looking adorable, smelling fresh, and the turn around time wasn't bad at all (about 2 hours). Price was as expected in the Royal Oak area, but no complaints. Happy customer here! We will be back!

Honestly cannot recommend them enough. I have been taking my 2 golden retrievers here to get groomed and they always look amazing. Went today and the girls were groomed by a diff groomer and there was a misunderstanding on how we groom them. She went above and beyond to make them look their best and I honestly am beyond impressed at the level of customer service. Cannot wait to start bringing my girls for daycare too!!

I love puppy love!! Had my golden retriever groomed and shaved by Paula, she did an amazing job! I highly recommend and will be back!!

I love this place so much, because of the owners and staff who love on these dogs. My dog is a little high strung, and she is always welcome. They love her, and she loves going! When she is groomed, she looks amazing, and she is totally safe and happy when she stays overnight. I take her for daycare approximately twice a week, and I never worry about anything when she's here.

DO NOT take your dogs here to be groomed. Especially if they have longer hair or need anything more than a shampoo! I was recently reminded of how terrible this experience was for me and my dog when I ran into another pet owner on the streets in Ferndale. We started talking about getting our dogs groomed since we both had Pomeranian, and the first thing out of her mouth was "whatever you do do not take her to Puppy Love".... Too late. A while back I took my dog in, she is a 3.5 pound Pomeranian and is almost 12 years old. I should have known when the first thing out of the groomers mouth was "this is the breed we looked up online." I specifically said please whatever you do do not cut her hair. She has had hair and skin issues and we have discovered that her fur doesn't grown back if it is cut. When I came to pick her up I literally had tears in my eyes. She looked like a completely different dog. They claimed that they did not cut her fur, but only brushed it. There were clear cut marks out of her fur. The groomers also went on to tell me how difficult she was to groom and further more said that where he use to work he would have to sometimes put a stocking over the dogs head. I was appalled! Was this a practice they were using here as well? I was also informed that it took 3 workers to "hold her down," may I remind you she is 3.5 pounds!!! At what point do you think you may be hurting her or simply just call and tell me she is ungroomable. Once we got home I started noticing her skins was bright red and very raw. She was so sensitive to my touch and wouldn't allow me to even pet her for almost 2 days! Very unlike her! I also noticed 4 big red marks on her skin. These were easy to spot because her hair was much thinner. Over the next few days the spot started turning black. I took her to my vet after she still want eating or drinking normally and to find out about the spots, which I was told by my vet were burn marks! Within a few days I ended up taking her back to the vet after I noticed 8 spots total, some my vet believe could have also been bruises which is why we didn't see them at first, although my vet told me dogs skin is difficult to bruise. My vet gave me a soothing lotion to put in her skin and was amazed at the condition of my dog after going to a licensed groomers. I tried to contact Puppy Love by sending an email, two phone calls, and a letter in the mail regarding my resent experience and of course I NEVER HEARD BACK. I'm hoping this review keeps some of you from experiencing what I did. Unprofessional, rude and incompetent when it comes to long haired dogs. I have attached pictures showing the damage to my poor dog.

These guys are amazing! I love their flexible hours and their pricing is very fair. I get both of my pups groomed here and they both are able to go through it stress free. I have a senior dog that can get very skittish when in new environments especially with other dogs but what I loved was that they respected her and let her be by herself. Where as my 1 year old puppy is a social butterfly and the setting is so perfect for her to hang out with her friends while at the spa! I've been recommending this place to all of my friends and coworkers. Seriously the BEST puppy place I've been too!

My puppy (shown in the photo here) loves Puppy Love! Actually, that is an understatement. When she goes for daycare, she happily runs towards the front door barking and excited to be there. While there she and her four-legged friends play, nap, and sometimes even sing together. We've been going to Puppy Love for 14 months now and I can't say enough good things about them. The owners and staff are wonderful and care about each individual dog. Their daycare hours are conducive to less conventional work schedules (open until 9 pm on weekdays) and the peace of mind I have from knowing my dog is loved and happy is priceless. And the photos they've taken of her, including this recent one for her birthday, capture how happy and content she is to be there!

I love Puppy Love!!! . When you walk in the atmosphere has a rustic and homey feel. You can see every part of the place from the wash area, grooming area, kennels and open play area. My Pit puppy has come here since they opened early spring. I wanted her to be a well socialized pup and she loves playing with the big dogs and all the puppies her age too. She comes home tired and is ready for bed after a day of play. They also do grooming I have been bringing my 3 yorkies and always look their best after Leslie has them for a spa day. She takes her time with them and gives them breaks because two of them are older. They get full grooms and also go in for regularly for feet, face and fanny trims to prevent matting. My pit pup has some skin issues and she gets special spa baths to help her itchy skin along with their yummy blueberry facials. I love this place and anytime we go out of town my pups will be staying at Puppy Love and getting the treatment!

Been coming here consistently since my puppy was 4 months old. She's now 1.5 yrs and still loves coming in and absolutely ADORES Leslie and her staff. I practically get dragged to the front door when we get out of the car, and if Leslie is there my pup doesn't even seem all that interested in leaving when it's time for pickup! LOL. Recently we went away on a 21 day overseas trip and I entrusted Puppy Love with our pup's care and I'm so glad I did. I was sent regular updates (photos and videos) like I'd asked for and could even see pics of her on their fb page. I could tell from the pictures and videos that our girl was having a great time. When got home and went to pick her up, she looked healthy, happy, and smelled really great because they'd groomed her for us prior to pickup. I just can't say enough good things about this place. The staff really loves and cares about every dog, even the naughty ones! I know this because my girl IS one of the naughty ones lol but she's always welcomed with open arms and Puppy Love truly is her home away from home! I always recommend all my friends to go to Puppy Love for grooming and daycare because it's the only place I've found where the staff is more like family and really get to know their clients and their needs. I feel really fortunate to have found this place and will always be a client as long as I'm living in MI.

First time needing to groom one of our dogs. We were very impressed with Paula and her crew. They took their time with our 1year old Golden, and even gave her a break when the dryer scared her a bit. She looks great! Thanks so much Puppy Love!

I had a delightful experience at puppy love. I had my dog groomed yesterday. Because they are a doggy daycare, they have later appointments available which is nice. They treated my dog very well, and did a nice job grooming her. I will definitely be back.

Leslie and Stacy are seriously the best. They treat my puppy like he is their own. The prices at puppy love are very reasonable and the fact that they are open late is really helpful for my hectic schedule. My puppy, Levi, is always so excited when we arrive. The atmosphere is awesome! You can tell that they put some serious thought into the design. They even have a POOL! They also do amazing when it comes to grooming. I take my dads dog here to get groomed and she always looks amazing. I have been ranting and raving about how great they are and some of my friends have left other Ferndale doggy day cares for Puppy Love. I recommend Puppy Love to everyone and I would NEVER take my dog anywhere else. Thanks guys!

This is the beat daycare I've taken my dogs to. I am sad that today was our last day, as we will be moving out of state. I like the casual set up here. The dogs come and go outside as they please. There is not a schedule where they go out, come in, go to cages and take a break. The place is kept clean. There is no smell or oder other than dog smell. My dogs are always happy and chipper when I pick them up, so I know they are being treated well and have fun. The staff is great, very friendly and polite and always go out of there way to make me feel welcomed. Leslie the owner is awesome. She has accommodated any requests I have had. She has a huge passion for the dogs and expects her staff to as well. She does this out of love for dogs. She is direct, polite, and informative. She wants to share any knowledge she has and that's appreciated as I'm a first time dog owner. If I'm last minute about asking for a bath for my dogs she is clear that she will try to get them done but no promises, yet, each time they have pulled though. I have felt very comfortable leaving my dogs in there care. It's not often I write reviews. But I felt I wanted to here even though I have 3 hours left to finish packing before I have movers here tomorrow. I want to make sure I let others know, this is a great place! Very happy I was able to find them for my dogs.

I was looking for a new place to take my dog for daycare and had seen the good reviews online for Puppy Love Socialization Center. I walked in and started talking to a staff member about daycare in the check-in area when I noticed other members in the play area spraying the dogs with liquid (hopefully just water) to get them to go outside. When I asked the staff member about this, they were very uncomfortable and tried to shrug it off. Using negative reinforcement like this should be disclosed to people so they can make an informed decision whether or not they want to leave their dogs with this business. I'm glad I saw this because it helped me make the decision to take my dog elsewhere.

Great staff and my dog loved this place!! They did really well with his (German Sheperd puppy) grooming!

This has become like a 2nd home for my puppies! I love the staff and my two dogs are excited every time tI pull into the parking lot. The care and love that the staff provide mean so much. When I have to travel, I miss my pups, and know that they are having a wonderful time with the staff and dog friends. I would highly recommend them for daycare, boarding and grooming. I LOVE this place! I was nervous to take my dog anywhere for daycare but when i stumbled upon puppy love i knew i had a winner! The staff truly gets to know your dog and takes care of them as if they were their own, what more can you ask for! My dog gets soooo excited to come here and the price is VERY reasonable! They also make check in super easy, you can do it online plus when you buy days they don't expire super fast! Love love love! TOTALLY RECOMMEND

I just can't tell you how happy I am that I found Puppy Love!!!!first off my initial call to thier business,the very very nice lady (stacy) definitely put me at ease informing me of thier boss...DIESEL THE MINUTURE DOBERMAN PINCHER that rules the block and that they owned him and was very aware on how to cut my very little minuture doberman pitchers nails..BELLA MAFIA....believe me...,I have took her to my vet...they made her bleed..I took her to a local place here in Ferndale and the lady got on top of my dog like she was riding a horse..omg I was traumatized as I'm sure Bella was to!!I..when I entered this business the cleanliness of this place was unreal....No DOG SMELL...and it was clean every doggie I seen looked so happy!!it was funny ...ands long as this business is there it will be my bella's groomer for LIFE, if anyone has anything to say bad about these people then...THIER JUST HAVING A BAD DAY....TRUST ME ...my dog is my baby and I don't have just anyone touching my dog....they are awesome,very kind and very gentle ...she was so relaxed my own doggie surprised me!!...so if you love your doggie like I do then take them here....THEY ARE GREAT!!...OH THIER prices are awesome too!

Puppy Love has to be the best doggie day care and grooming in the area. I have never seen an owner pour her heart and soul into the business like Leslie. She is a special person with a love for animals. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. She treats the dogs like kings and queens! She is always quit with a tip on dog care that really helps out. I am so glad she chose to open up business doing something she loves. A lot of times people can dread going into work. Leslie can not wait to get to work and spend time with the animals. It's hard to find someone these days that puts so much into her work. Thanks for all you do for our dogs Leslie.

The inside of the facility is very clean and there are multiple dogs areas to accommodate different owners parenting styles. Puppy Love was recommended by the staff at my vet when I was looking for a new groomer. If you are looking for grooming or boarding this is the place to go. Leslie and her staff truly care about each and every dog. They are easy going and at the same time aware of everything going on.

I love that I have such a great place to take my baby Onyx. I drive from commerce Michigan just to come to puppy love Lesile and her staff take such good care of him they make him feel so comfortable. Onyx does have separation anxiety and hates being alone at puppy love they keep him with someone at all times I never have to worry about him not getting attention that he needs when I can't be with him

This is the best doggy daycare around, from the owners to the staff. They are courteous, helping and always willing to go the extra mile. My dog is like my child, my boyfriend and I have pulled our dog from many day cares in the area for many different reasons such as her acting weird when coming home, not wanting to go into the daycare, and even no cameras. Leslie and Stacy are always willing to to help in any way possible to reassure you, that your fur-child is being taken care of properly. The rest of the staff are truly dog lovers who always seem to be enjoying their job of babysitting. Over the past 4 years whenever we travel we always feel comfortable leaving her there and couldn't be more confident in their services.

Beautiful facility, experienced staff, extremely reasonable prices. Puppy Love is without a doubt the best 'doggie day care' facility I have ever used. Spend five minutes talking to Leslie and her passion for dogs will be very clear to you. She and her staff go above and beyond for their customers and treat the dogs like one of their own. Not only is this a beautiful facility, but the staff at Puppy Love is exceptional! We have trusted Leslie and the staff at Puppy Love to take care of our dogs countless times throughout the years and have had a positive experience each and every time.

I could not be happier with my dog's stay at puppy love. It was such a warm and inviting atmosphere due to the decor and the staff. I truly can't say enough about the staff and how flexible they were! I felt so comfortable leaving Kaya overnight. When I picked her up, she had just gotten a bath and her nails clipped! The price was MORE than reasonable! I will absolutely be using them from now on for my baby for daycare, boarding, and grooming!!

We love Puppy Love! We take our three year old goldendoodle Winston here for both grooming and puppy sitting. The space is very large, clean, and comfortable. Leslie takes great care in Winston's haircuts and always honors our styling requests. It can be really challenging to find quality puppy sitters. From the day we started bringing Winston to Puppy Love we have never taken him anywhere else, and never will. PL is reliable, friendly, and consistent. Winston loves it, and it is so nice to have peace of mind when we have to be away from him!

What's not to love about Puppy Love? My two dogs love to play there. They come home so tired from playing with the other dogs there and that really helps with their manners at home. I have them groomed by Leslie and she does a great job. My chihuahua has sensitive nails from an injury and Leslie is extra careful and patient with him I wouldn't trust anyone else.

I took my dogs here for the first time yesterday for grooming. I have 3 Bichons. I saw the reviews online and with the location being within a mile of my house we wanted to give them a chance. When I dropped the 3 off I made detailed comments on what I would like and they wrote them down and also verbally confirmed. I also asked if they couldn't do something because they felt they were matted (Which they weren't) and you have to shave them them I would like a call. Oh yes definitely I was told by 2 people (Lady and a man). I won't have to shave them. I dropped them off a little before 10am and called at 4:30 checking on them and 1 was still not done. They were ready around 6pm. When they brought the 3 dogs to me I about fell over. I was like what happened to my dogs? Why did I not get a phone call? Why are they shaved? What did he do? I was about in tears. I was then told that the groomer nicked the A's knee, and she was sorry. She didn't see that until now. I was in sock. I asked about L... Why is he shaved? She didn't have an answer so she went back and asked the man and her response was he couldn't get a 4 through him. So you go from a 4 to a 1????? Why didn't I get a call? I'm not sure. I wasn't here when you dropped them off. The lady behind the desk said yes she did say that. She kept confirming what I had said when I dropped them off. The other lady said next time I will do them. I had to bully sticks I was going to buy and she said oh just have those. I was do upset and I wanted to just get out of there as all 3 of them wanted out way more than me. I was charged $120.00. I was not thinking at all. Then I said did he do L's ears and anal glands. She said no, and the lady behind the desk said no you said not to do those.. I even gave a $15 tip. What was I thinking!!! Now It's today... A - Has 3 hot spots starting and is almost shaved up to his face and his ears are uneven. T - Shaved up to her face. She has spots I have never seen before. She has 2 hot spots starting. (My dogs have never had hot spots) Her butt is shaved to the skin and so red. L - He has been in hiding since we got home - Which tells us they did his ears and anal glands. He won't move for days now and 1 of us will have to end of taking him to the vet. He also is shaved up to his nose. I will not take my dogs to this place, and I'm very disappointed in the owner. I was so hoping this place would work out because of the location. We would have loved supporting a local business.

they have the coolest pool for dogs - who knew Bellie was a swimmer! and, the girls there are great, laid back, friendly and knowledgeable. Bellie is always excited to go to daycare and can't wait to run back to where her friends are waiting for her.
