"Doña Lola is a must-try DFW pupuseria. Polished wood tables and chatting, laughing families fill the well-lit dining with bright orange walls. Try any of the pupusas, filled with cheese, shredded pork, and more delicious stuffings, and pair with Doña Lola’s creamy orange salsa and fresh, crunchy curtido." - W. Trace Miller

My experience at Dona Lola was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the waitstaff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The highlight of our meal was the delicious shrimp dish that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Accompanied by fluffy rice, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes, it created a delightful plate. The accompanying sauce added just the right touch of flavor. Overall, Dona lola exceeded my expectations with its fantastic service and mouthwatering food. I can't wait to return!

Google
These Pupusas are one of the best Pupusas you can find in the DFW area. Big and very stuffed with very flavorful ingredients

Google
Fantastic pupusas and other authentic Salvadoran food. The cheese pull was mouthwatering. The ingredients were fresh and the owner Eduardo was very nice and spent a lot of time checking on us and making sure we were taken care of. Make sure to come check out this local gem!

Google
This was easily the best papusas my husband and I have had!! Very attentive service, fresh papusas and delicious horchata. Will absolutely be coming back and will always recommend to others!

Google
Pupusas are amazing!!! We got our order to go and they were super hot still when we got home. My picky kids loved them and want to eat there more often. Only snapped one pic because we were enjoying our food to much to stop. 10/10

Google
Great food but a bit slow. Really love their food, the pupusas are really big and well filled… i usually have 3 in other places, here i was full at 2 pupusas already. Falvor 10/10! Really good! Overall, all the food and Aguas frescas are really good, same with the service… people is really nice. If anything bad, i would say is that it took a bit longer than other places, but if you are not in a hurry, this place is great.

Google
Visiting from the north east so we don’t get much experience eating pupusas. It was great for variety to order and they were all made fresh for us. The quality was great and we enjoyed the taste. There was a jar of vegetable condiments. (see picture), to go on the Pupusas. It was casual dining and the service was great, although it was not crowded at the time. Although I cannot compare it to other Pupusa places, I recommend it as an excellent dining experience.

Google
I was raised in Carrollton, I know this city like the back of my hand. I used to think Salsa Verse was the best restaurant we had. I’m telling you it does not hold a candle to this place. Delicious fresh perfectly cooked popusas. And every table comes with a fresh jar of sauerkraut as someone who’s had health problems this was greatly appreciated. Food was too good to send a photo but I cleaned my plate 😂

Yelp
I tried both the pork and cheese pupusas as well as the shrimp pupusas at this restaurant. The portion was great! I couldn't eat more than too. I also tried the horchata, and it was sweeter than what I'm used to, so I couldn't finish the drink. The service deserves five stars as the staff checked up on us multiple times, ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. One point to note is that water costs $0.50, and there were no refills. So, if you're planning to stay hydrated, keep that in mind. Despite that, the overall experience was great, and I would definitely recommend trying their delicious pupusas!

Alberto M.

Yelp
Very authentic, customer service was amazing. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, food was phenomenal and very very! Tasty

Aaron X.

Yelp
I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I've only ever had pupusas 3 times in my life. Given my lack of experience, I'm not even going to describe why these were better than the other 2 spots, but to me they were, and let's just say I will have had pupusas a lot more than 3 times before I die. Oh, and prices were cheap

Daniel F.

Yelp
Terrible customer service!!! I sat for an hour and no one even offered to seat me. I would agree if I am there asking for free food but I am a customer there. All waiters kept walking by and completely ignored me. I had to walk out. I recommend that they fix their customer service.

Lizeth D.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE! I love this place, all the popusas are great! Loroco is my personal favorite, and the curtido and sauce are amazing! Takes them a while to make (it's fresh!!) but worth it. Amo este lugar! Todas la popusas son deliciosas. Las de loroco son mis favoritas, el curtido y la salsa me encantan! Les toma un buen rato en cocinar las pero vale la pena porque están recién echas!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Phenomenal service and incredible food! We tried four different kinds of pupusa's and loved all of them.

Karen U.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic food! My Salvadoran mom loved it and didn't complain or compare lol

Andrea A.

Yelp
Been looking for a good pupusa place since I moved to Texas and I finally found my new favorite! We ordered revueltas and they are not stingy with their filling which I love AND the rice and beans are equally as delicious! We went on a Monday around 4pm and it wasn't too busy which was nice although I did notice they had a decent amount of take out orders and I was happy to see business was good for them. My only issue is that it's a little too far from where I live but I totally recommend it and will be back!

Jacqueline R.

Yelp
Almost an hour just to get my food terrible service. The restaurant wasn't even full .

Dinah S.

Yelp
This pace is alright. My family came from CA and one day we were wanting Pupusas we came here, ordered, and waited for 20 minutes. The pork/cheese was alright it smelled so strong to where I didn't want to eat it any more.

Shariece J.

Yelp
Very nice and clean restaurant! I went in and ordered lunch to go, the staff was kind and patient with me as I asked questions about the different papusas. I ordered one cheese, one pork and cheese, and a crazy papusa. They were served hot and fresh! They were sooo good! I also got the desert and it was also great! I can't wait to go back!

Bethany S.

Yelp
From service to the food, this place is not only authentic. But absolutely delicious. Love the environment, good seating, not too loud. The pupusas are the best I've ever had. Great prices, great food, great service. Highly recommend.

Sara S.

Yelp
This was our first time having Salvadoran food, and the pupusas were fantastic! Almost like a soft corn tortilla pancake with fillings inside (meat is chopped up very small, and plenty of cheese), then there is something like a coleslaw at the table to put on them if you wish. The fried (sweet) plantains were also amazing. The service was excellent, head to the register when you are ready to pay, they keep your check up there until you are ready. Would highly recommend!

Sherene A.

Yelp
Yikes. Very poor customer service. Placed an online order around 11am, for delivery at 1:45pm. Placed and paid for the order...and a little while later, I get an email (which thank GOODNESS I checked so that I could search for an alternative, since I was ordering food for my elderly father's lunch...)...saying that the order had been cancelled, with no explanation. No phone call, inquiring about the order and anything I may have done when ordering that would cause them to not be able to fulfill the order. It was disappointing, especially after reading how great the folks who run this ship are.

Linda R.

Yelp
This place has awesome cheese pupusas they're big you get your moneys worth ! They have a variety of food to serve. I will definitely be back for more! Next time I will try something new.

Rebecca G.

Yelp
The Pupusas were amazing!! I had the pork, bean, crazy, and shrimp and all were fantastic. Will definitely be back again!

Yesi Y.

Yelp
No other place I eat pupusas at. I am Salvadorian American and my parents are super picky with where we get our pupusas at as well.... I have been coming here for years, everyone is super friendly and it might not be the glamorous place but the best Salvadorian food is found here. I love ordering the pupusas of bean and cheese and asp loroco with cheese. Tamales de elote are delicious , they sell Salvadorian quesadillas that are the best I've had as well...

Lauren M.

Yelp
There's just something so comforting about Salvadorian cuisine that makes me feel so warm and happy on the inside. I had a comfort food craving for pupusas and drove to the middle-of-nowhere part of Addison, but there is something great in the middle of that "nothing". Walking into the dining room you're sure to see families dining together over the table or one table talking to another. There's a nice sense of Salvadorian community here. I was definitely on the outside of the community but it can be expected since I don't speak the language or look like anyone else. I came here for one thing, pupusas. I knew before entering I wanted revueltas (pork and cheese) pupusas, an elote tamal (sweet corn), and platanos fritos with black beans and crema. It took quite a while for anyone to help me or even speak to me. I stood at the ordering counter for 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. I placed my order and was told it would take 20 minutes, and it did. Yes, that's a long time to wait, but the food was being made fresh. The food finally came out and was piping hot and smelled incredible. Once I got home and enjoyed my feast I couldn't have been happier. The pupusas were really incredible, and the cabbage slaw and sauce were excellent. I loved my tamal - it was huge and sweet. A little dry but I had crema so it helped out. The fried plantains were hypnotizing mixed with the beans and crema. The beans on their own were a bit bland but that's okay. Can't wait to try their food in-house and not to-go next time.

Jasmine C.

Yelp
The pupusa dough has flavor and is thick enough to allow you to enjoy the abundant meat, cheese and beans in a "revuelta" pupusa. Don't forget to order plátanos fritos, with sour cream and beans. The food was exquisite. Clean restaurant and the women serving tonight were nice and attentive.

Victor H.

Yelp
I have been looking for a good pupusa spot since I left New York. I've been here in Texas for 6 years now and all I can say is I am glad I found this spot. My parents were on vacation down here and decided they needed some pupusas. Having given up on the search, I googled a place near my job and found Doña Lola's. And I am glad I did! These pupusas brought back the authentic flavor of the ones I had growing up and I will most definitely be going back! Timely and great service!

Gilian A.

Yelp
Where do I begin?! This little place is magical. Yuca- The pork with it is so delightful. Crispy outside and very flavorful Pupusas- Slight crunch on the outside and gooey center. We had the pork and cheese and bean and cheese. Corn tamale- We went with the fried suggestion with cream. Moist on the inside with pieces of corn throughout. Horchata- I love a good Horchata and there's is definitely in my top 3. Creamy with the perfect balance of cinnamon. The service is exceptional. They gave many suggestions and took the time to answer our questions even though they were packed. I will definitely be back! If your Spanish is a little rusty like mine, no worries, they speak English also.

Yelp
An authentic Salvadorean restaurant in the Dallas area. This was a great find for me! I'm Salvadorean and grew up eating home made pupusas, tamales, fried yuca. I'm also from Boston area where we have a fair amount of Salvadorean restaurants to choose from. I must say that 'Pupusas Doña Lola' is legit, people. Don't waste your time trying to find another place. I tried another place that advertised they were a "pupuseria" but, the folks making the pupusas did a terrible job. The pupusas were falling apart, no meat on my 'revuelta', no salsa and the curtido was weird. Go to Pupusas Doña Lola. You won't regret it.

Emy C.

Yelp
Recently moved to DFW and although I have to drive a while, it's worth the trip. Their pupusas and tamales are really good. I place my order ahead of time and it's ready when I arrive. Give them a try!

Lumarie O.

Yelp
The pupusas, tamales, rice, beans yucca, horchata, Tamarindo and flan were delicious! Big and generous portions! The service was great! Will be back.

Kou L.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday around 1:30pm, busy day with some open seats. This was my first time, as I walked in I was not greeted nor did I know if I was suppose to seat myself. As I saw people behind me seated themselves, that's when I seated myself and then the waitress came and asked if I was going to eat here or take out. I decided to eat inside. Right afterwards they were quick to ask for orders. I got myself a horchata drink and an order of cheese pupusas and a chicken tamale. The horchata drink was good, but I prefer it with extra spice of cinnamon. As for pupusa and chicken tamale, we will wait and see. The chicken tamale is filled with flavors, but I'm not a big fan of the mesa or coat of the tamale. The pupusa on the other hand is delicious and I would highly recommend it. Side notes: parking lot is small so if you want to come by come during hours that are less busy-no exactly sure when that would be.

Steven A.

Yelp
Best pupusas I have had in years!! Quality is their number 1 ingredient. Well done. And great prices!

Hannah K.

Yelp
10/10 the papusas were delicious!!!! The hospitality and family feel this place has is the best part. I will definitely be coming back for my cravings.

Monica R.

Yelp
I was around the area and decided to stop by and try this place out. I ordered pupusas and wow. They were delicious. Customer service was perfect. Definitely my to go place for pupusas. Highly recommend it.

Rosa H.

Yelp
Best Pupusas in Town and they are fresh and very delicious! Get them mixed but for sure call ahead! They are always busy!

Jannat C.

Yelp
Seriously the best find in Carrollton! I got the cheese pupusas and it's so delicious. Besides the taste, the price is great. You can have a filling lunch for a little over $5. The slaw that's at every table is the perfect complement to the pupusas. Definitely took about 3 scoops of that for each pupusas. As a note, this is a small place so finding a table may be difficult. You will have to seat yourself and pay at the front if this will be your first time going over there.

Melanie S.

Yelp
These are the most authentic salvadorean pupusas which make you feel like you are in El Salvador. The staff makes you feel like family. I have never enjoyed rice pupusas in my life but these we ordered extra to go!!! The horchata And all fresh juices are incredible. And you CANNOT leave without having the most amazing QUESEDILLA for dessert even if you have to take with you-Do Not leave without it!

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Bought pupusas for my employees and they were in love. The sauce that comes with it is to die for. Now when I'm at work and craving for pupusas, this is the only lace I want to go. Definetly coming back.

Bruce B.

Yelp
Marvelous food! I cannot speak highly enough. Had the jalapeno and cheese papusa as well as the bean and cheese papusa and both were outstanding. The jalapenos were roasted fresh and made spicy flavorful additions to the papusa... omg so good! The elote (corn) tamal with a cream sauce was freakin excellent. You could call this sweet delectable item dessert lol Also tried a chicken tamal... outstanding! This tiny restaurant is hitting homeruns. I will be back.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Pupusas here are delicious. So the five stars are solely on that. Best I've ever had. Negatives- our waitress forgot to put part of our order, it was noticed and we were told the food would come soon. It didn't. We were forgotten a second time- they apologized and eventually given the rest of our food. I feel we should've been comped for that part of the order, it was only like 5 bucks. Also I would avoid the restrooms if possible. Despite these things... the pupusas are THAT GOOD for a 5 star rating.

Marce ..

Yelp
This restaurant oh my God so good, the food so incredibly good and the service great!!! The place was nice too. I love it!!!!!

laurel g.

Yelp
As always very tasty. If you have questions about a menu item they will explain. They have also remodeled the restaurant

Eduardo J.

Yelp
Pupusas are generously sized. I ordered 3 but all you need is 2 trust me. Good service. You'll get more than your money's worth here.

Jaibin M.

Yelp
Got here 30 minutes to closing, so it was to go only at that point. Small place, feels like a family spot. The workers here are kind, the food is good, and the prices are cheap! 2 pupusas filled me up. After I ordered they said it would take 10 minutes and it did. Excited to come back here again

Andrea B.

Yelp
The best pupusas in DFW. Fairly large and the flavor is always consistent. They offer a good variety, too. You can now order a single order of plátano refrito. They have Mexican Coca-Cola as well as Kolashampan. Service is always quick and friendly.

Ana R.

Yelp
I'm writing this review mainly to recognize the honestly of the owners and staff working at this place. I recently forgot something valuable and they kept it safe until I came to pick it up. This was an act of honesty you truly appreciate these days. Besides the pupusas are amazing!

Oliver D.

Yelp
I came here looking for some good Pupusas and I was not disappointed. Me and my siblings ordered Pupusas Revueltas(Combination of Pork, Beans and Cheese), Cheese Pupusas and Beans and Cheese Pupusas. They come with Curtido(Coleslaw thats topped with the Pupusas) and some other kind of sauce that I did not what it was but it had a neutral taste. The Curtido and sauce were good. Standard I suppose as far as Curtido goes. As for the Pupusas, they were really good. Can't say I was disappointed by their taste. The restaurant serves just about every Salvadorian delicacy that I can think of(not Salvadorian btw). As far as Atmosphere goes, it's a local mom n pop shop so don't expect to much. Prices were fair as far as local restaurants go. You can definitely get your fills worth of food here for under $10. If I had any complaints it would be the wait time for the food. We were there for about 15-20 mins but the order taker did warn us on that. It also isn't fast food so can't really complain about the speed. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some good Latin America food(Salvadorian)

Tae C.

Yelp
Good pupusas would highly recommend. I've tried the pork/cheese(revuelta), shrimp/cheese(Camaron), and the bean/cheese(frijoles) my favorite was the pork/cheese if there's one thing I could say their repollo(pickled cabbage) is very good definitely better than all the other establishments I've been too in Dallas area. Only thing I could say is I personally like my pupusas crispy crispy, so if they cooked them just a tad bit longer, I would guarantee it be the best place for pupusas. Once again highly recommend if you haven't been yet.

Avinash A.

Yelp
By far one of the tastiest pupusas I've had. I got the chicken and cheese one (pollo con queso) and it was flavorful and mouth watering. Will be coming back here frequently. The staff is very nice and friendly also

Peter S.

Yelp
It's pretty hard to F@$# up a pupusa, but I've seen that go down more than once in Dallas, happy to say this place wasn't one of those places. This is a good spot with cheap food, and the horchata ain't too bad, either. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop. Tamales I can do without from their menu, but that's not why I came here... I came here to eat pupusas until I hated myself. Mission accomplished.

Bee N.

Yelp
The best pupusas! Always get the bean and cheese, zucchini and cheese, but the plain cheese is the best. The cabbage slaw and sauce is what makes it even better.

Imara S.

Yelp
Amazing food, real authentic salvadorian pupusas! I absolutely recommend this place. It's pretty small but super with the wait! Our first time and we will definitely come back.

John R.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great food, amazingly nice people. Any review with less than 4 stars are probably written by folks who 1) Didn't understand what they were eating or... 2) Have no idea what good food is. It's a restaurant in a strip mall in Carrollton, you're not going to find a hostess or a sommelier. You will find some of the best pupusas outside of latin america however.

Christian P.

Yelp
Came to eat here the other day and I have to say how disappointed I was on the menu prices. I ordered a plátano Fritos that comes with beans and sour cream and the plate was $8. Wayyy too over priced. Secondly I order a tamal de elote and they bring it out with no sour cream and I was told that it's 1$ extra if I wanted sour cream with it. The food is great just really over priced. They also take forever to bring out your food.

Sergio V.

Yelp
Came in here for a quick snack, and after reading previous reviews I decided to try the yuca with fried pork. What a great choice I made. The fried pork was so tender and juicy, and the yuca had so much flavor to it. The best thing is they have this huge jar of cabbage salad that you put over the top and I'll promise you, you won't regret it.

Liz C.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner...it took forever for our food to come out, probably because some of the cooks were on break. The pupusas are pretty large in size, but hardly any meat in them, especially the shrimp one (they may use dried shrimp). The chicharron con yucca was dry and warm in temperature. I feel that we were overcharged and did not get a receipt.
