Yelp
We ordered the combo, bean & cheese, asada, and al pastor pupusas, plantain empanadas, tamarindo agua Fresca, and cafe con leche.
This is the first place I've seen carne asada and al pastor as an option and they we're definitely a hit. The pupusas itself was flavorful, the curtido was pickled just right, and the sauce was delicious. I ordered 2 pupusas for myself and they were extremely filling, especially the carne asada. The al pastor had a nice, sweet flavor and worked well with the curtido. I've never had anything like the plantain empanadas before and it was a perfect balance of sweet. The filling inside was not overly sweet and worked well with the fried plantain dusted with sugar. The tamarindo agua Fresca was refreshing. The cafe con leche was strong and had a nice dark roast flavor, but I think the leche created some weird film on top that didn't leave a foamy texture, rather it was like left over soggy bread inside the coffee (if you have ever dipped bread in your coffee). The texture was little off putting but the flavor was still excellent.
As far as service, there was only one lady at the front of the house. She was the hostess, waitress, the server, and the busser. There was at least 6 parties inside and it took her a while to take our order and close out our tab. I don't blame her, it was just her by herself and she was excellent and friendly. She definitely needs help though especially during the lunch rush we witnessed! The ambiance was lively, Spanish music playing in the background, parties conversing and enjoying their meals. Would definitely eat here again if we're ever in Denver!
