You will get a nice impression as you enter this restaurant with your loved ones. I like the double door entrance (keeps outside flying critters out) to this nice small pretty French garden cafe style decor. As we arrived the place was empty but it quickly filled half way. It holds around 13 tables which can quickly fill up at meal times during peak meal hours. When they have enough servers the food and service is done in a prompt manner. This restaurant is mainly of Salvadorean Cuisine (El Salvador). They have dishes that other restaurants might not have like Panes con Gallina (authentic chicken with red sauce and cabbage salad on roll), Guanaco Chips (chips with grilled steak, cheese, sauce, pico de gallo, beans, and avocado), mini Pupusa Sampler dish, Pastelitos de Carne o Pollo (beef or chicken deep fried empanadas), Nuegados con Chilate (a deep fried cassava bites with sugar cane syrup dessert), and Budin (delish sweet bread pudding dessert). I love the daring menu with the big selection of food. I would love to see them add a descent steak to the menu like a ribeye (Puyaso). They have the traditional pupusa fillings (Revueltas, Queso, Frijoles con Queso, Chicharron con Queso, y Queso con Lorroco) and about 25 others to your liking. I really do rave about this restaurant on the menu choices, on good prices (as you see from restaurant online menu pic and i included the receipt for 3 people), and great taste. Service might be a little off on busy times. It is a possibility that when Door Dash orders and dine in orders are too many to handle the consistency of the food is not perfect. I acknowledge that this is a minor and understandable thing that most restaurants face. I remind everyone of one thing: there is no perfect restaurant, so don’t hold this against this facility. If you are looking for a taste of Salvadorean food like pupusas, delish corn or chicken Tamales, and a sweet quesadilla or empanada de platano (plantain) with some good coffee this is a great spot in the heart of Rockville, Maryland. Enjoy Pupuseria Mama Emilia!

They have a delicious beef soup (sopa de res) Salvadorian style; I recommend the chilito encurtido; it was too tasty. Pupusas are tasty, it's didn't have a lot of fat, and they offer different options: Traditional and creative favors.

If you want to show your friends what Salvadoran cuisine is like, take them here! It’s a great example of the wonderful taste and food options from 🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻. I personally had a yummy pollo a la crema, thinly cut chicken served in a savory sauce. The rice and veggies were plentiful, and I’d like to mention that my friends, Salvadoran and non-Salvadoran, had a great time with the pupusas! We had a nice man as a waiter too. I put the food as 4 stars for price, as I feel like they could be offer more competitive prices. As I mentioned before, the chicken is thinly cut and I only got 2 pieces, so I feel as though $15 could be a bit much (I understand the area hikes the price though). Overall, a solid 4.5 but I’ll give it 5 as the rest of the experience was flawless.

It’s going to be our new spot for pupusas! They were so good that we had to come back and get some more. We have taken takeout our first two visits. Very impressed with the pupusas and yucca con chicharrón. It’s been challenging lately to find good quality pupusas in MOCO and now we have. The staff is super friendly and professional. Definitely a must try restaurant and next visit we will be dining in because we are excited to try other things on their menu. Check them out and enjoy!

The pupusas really just might be the best in town like they say! The food was so fresh that the even the tomatoes looked perfect. Everything tasted so freshly made that you could taste every ingredient. The agua fresca was a flavorful and not watered down. It’s 5 star quality food and service (best service we’ve had in a long time!) without losing the mom and pop feel that makes it so special. We aren’t in the area often but we’ll be stopping by every chance we get.

Great service pupusas are inexpensive and it just reminds you of what your grandma would make for you very nice and comfy vibes dont forget to get a drink they got tons of options. The only thing that wasnt it was one of the chicken with salad and rice. It was too basic for me

I tried the pupusa platter. It was the first time I ever had pupusa so I don’t have a baseline to measure against. However, some were delicious and others were just kind of plain.
