We chose Pur Noire as our couples' date night/birthday celebration location (two couples, with one person from each couple celebrating a birthday). We had a 4:30 PM Saturday reservation. It was pretty busy when we arrived, with several two-person tables and two groups. It was energetic and loud. The ambiance and decor were nice (I could see them needing a bigger location pretty soon). We paid for the grand tasting and two charcuterie cups. The grand tasting included six wines. The charcuterie was typical, with prosciutto and salami (I think--I didn't eat), grapes, strawberries, chocolates, nuts, crackers, and honey. The charcuterie was good and held us over until dinner at 7:30 PM.
The wines were good, some better than others. Each person in our party found something they liked.
Our wine hostess (I can't remember if this is what they are called or sommelier) was nice and seemed knowledgeable. She explained the wines, the creation of the company, and things to look for in the tastings. She gave us the right amount of time between tastings and was very friendly.
We each wanted a glass of the Merlot and were told it would be cheaper to get a bottle. The bottle was $64. It was good but not worth that price to us. We've had better Merlots for half that price. But it's a matter of opinion--others may disagree. Also, we couldn't quite figure out the wine club, but to be fair, we didn't ask them to explain.
None of us are true connoisseurs, but we each enjoy a good glass of wine and know enough about pairings to get by. We all enjoyed this place and would return/recommend it. It would be nice for a date night or girls' night out.
