Yelp
Chic restaurant on South Beach that we visited for the first time this week. From the get go, I didn't like the structure of how you order your meal. They don't have waiters at the table. You stand in line following their strict rules of separation- kind of reminded me of the soup kitchen on that "Friends"episode that was so funny- You stand on the "mobile order line" or stand at the "eat at the restaurant line." Both long and annoying.
They have these delicious looking croissants that are next to the girl that finally takes your order when you reach your turn in line, that are as accessible as statues in a wax museum. I wanted to just buy one and grab it "to go" but instead had to go back to my table and wait patiently for the part time pretend waiters.
My husband does not like lines and if he would have seen the one I was in- he would have left. But he was seated in the main restaurant which is some distance from the "ordering area". I didn't like having to wait in line as if I was at Mc Donald's especially since we were having breakfast and had just walked 10 blocks to find them. The prices do not match this "stand in line and wait behind 7 people" we spent 70 dollars on avocado toast, orange juice, Oat-milk coffee, egg and cheese croissant, and almond croissant.
The food was fresh and tasty. Especially the egg croissant sandwich, but one does not feel very welcoming with no waiter, no water, and a long line.
The background music that was playing was also a bit loud. Although I did love the fact they played one of my old favorites: Ma Cherie amour and that quickly cheered me up and brought back memories.
The restaurant serves well prepared healthy food, it is clean and very pretty, and seems to be quite popular. I just wish they wouldn't make you stand in line to order and they would do things the old fashioned way! Just my humble opinion..
I truly appreciate the kind and thoughtful response from the manager..I look forward to checking it out again in the near future!
