"While it technically doesn’t close until February 8, 2020, the announcement of Purdy Lounge’s imminent closure sent shockwaves through South Florida this fall. After 20 years in business, the late night party spot’s owners said that it 'was time' for the space to say farewell." - Olee Fowler

"Dubbed a lounge for its large space (there's a main room and a back room) and comfy couches, and inexpensive drinks. Go for reggae on Mondays, a nightcap on any night of the week, or on Sundays for one of the best, sweaty, hip-hop parties in Miami." - Olee Fowler

Purdy lounge, always a great party everyone remembers and a perfect drink made by the bartenders everytime. The music and ambiance is energetic and hip with contemporary, classic, and original music to dance the morning in at sunrise.

Been a favorite spot of mine for YEARS. So sad its closing. Unprententious, locals spot that attracts an eclectic variety. Hip hop Sunday. Reggae Monday. Never a cover ever. Gem of a place.

I had a sweet time here the vibe and energy of this place was amazing.

Great low-attitude, low-price to go dancing! I was in charge of picking a dancing option for a few female friends in their 30s (who simply said “nothing too plastic”), and they LOVED it. Great crowd but not TOO crowded (at least in August).

I give this rating only because of the Reggae dj they had. The venue itself is great and location as well. However, I went there on a Monday night, which is reggae night and the DJ is not from the Caribbean. I think he may just have friends from the Caribbean and he knows some of the songs, because it wasn't mixed well or good selections. If you just want to get out on a Monday night and need a reggae spot that's free, then it's fine.

So I've been here a couple times all together. The crowd is very mixed so that's a plus. The music changes from room to room and day to day. The biggest issue I have with this place is the weed consumption. The hip hop room in the back is literally a weed room. Every time I've been at this place i have a hard time breathing because everyone smokes right next to you. Cigarettes are one thing but to get the weed blown into your face is another. Last time i checked weed is still illegal in Florida and I don't understand how and why people let them smoke weed like it's a living room. That is literally the reason why my friends and I don't go there anymore. It's pretty much a known fact that people are allowed to smoke and also sell it in there. So my question is how this place is still up and running this way. So if you are a pot head I'm sure it's an awesome place for you. But thinking about that we are not it's not a place for us.

Celebrated my sisters bday there. It was fun. DJ was good in the back room. That is where we were most of the time. Very much a young crowd mostly. All in all, we had a good time. Drinks a little pricey but your in Miami...

We had a blast! We got there early after dinner at Prime 112 so we were cool with having the place to ourselves and scoping out the spot before the crowds came. This is definitely a place you can go and just chill or turn up!
