Google
My second time trying food from this restaurant. My 1st experience was the vegan mac & cheese and I think it was very good and pretty close to the real thing. This time we did this order & pick up option which has a variety of restaurant food pickup in one location. I tried a bacon burger and tater tots and my daughter got a wrap like the thing they make at taco bell. My burger was good it was Beyond but, I do not recommend what they called bacon. it was soggy flabby piece of something textured like Spam. It was not crisp, crunchy, or tasty. kinda grossed me out and I had to remove it from my burger plus the put way too much. The crispy fried onions and fresh lettuce were great.

Google
Had the Badu Burger. It had that amazing grilled and juicy flavor as specified on their menu. Mac cheese was also good.

Google
Always really good. Their new cubano sandwich was phenomenal. Chicken sandwiches are good too, especially the hottie. Onion rings are just okay but mac and cheese is great. Make sure you click on pure soul when you go to order, they're part of a group of kitchens all working out of the same building.

Google
I got the club sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich looked nothing like the photo shown on the website, and had no flavor besides from the mayo. I really wanted to like the sandwich, especially since it was $17.50. The garlic fries are really good though!!!

Google
This California Love burrito was EVERYTHING, that thing was loaded up! I got crispy tots, cheese, guac, pico, salsa, and added vegan carnitas which were sooo good! I had never seen vegan carnitas so I had to try. They probably have the most diverse lineup of vegan proteins I’ve ever seen. They got vegan spam, carnitas, barbacoa, BBQ jackfruit, and more. It’s always great to support a small business. They are a woman owned and partially Black owned business! The owners are Erica Montgomery aka “Auntie” and Jamie Cavanaugh. The service was efficient and the person working was nice.

Google
I’ve ordered from this place multiple times and the food is usually tasty, what’s disappointing is sometimes the portions are too poor for what they charge , even though I pay extra for items sometimes they forget to add them or add things we did not order. It’s been more than a couple of occasions where we’ve ordered tots (paying extra charge) and they’ve given us fries also it’s been multiple times that I have been left without utensils even though we asked for them. I understand that their staff might be limited but who is in charge needs to pay more attention to how the food is prepared, specially when paying extra .

Google
Yes please. Vegan with pure soul. This reminded me a bit of Dharma’s Kitchen in Florida. No dine in but there is outdoor seating or take out. You knock at the window when you’re ready to order and one comes out. We ordered the Auntie Soul Plate (1 protein, 2 sides, drink) with the Nashville Hottie, Mac and cheese, potato salad, fresh squeezed lemonade. I ordered the gluten free bird and a side of candies yams. Tenea was the first impression and last, a notable, lasting presentation of the company. Food, marvelous! Parking lot, cashless payment accepted. Downside is for the cost of the platter and what I ordered that’s $50 for an ok portion size.

Google
So grateful to have this amazing vegan restaurant in East Sac. They have a good variety on the menu and I can’t wait to try everything out! I had the bbq jackfruit sandwich and seasoned tator tots. Everything was super delicious. The sandwich was a little on the spicy side and it had a good kick if you like that. The sandwich was huge and I got two meals out of it. The coleslaw and fried onions on top were a nice added touch and so yummy. The online ordering was very easy on their website and it was ready at the time it stated. They also deliver through a couple of delivery apps. They bring everything out to you so you don’t have to go inside when picking up due to the COVID-19 regulations. My only complaint is their hours don’t seem to be super stable. I would advise checking their social media to see if they are open.

Yelp
Wow, so I leave my actual experience to warn customers not to forget to double check their orders cuz there are no changes after the fact and then the business owner replies negatively. Good luck with your business. When I have a bad experience I'm not taking time to read what you have wrote to other customers who also must have left a bad review to see I need to email my experience instead of putting it on a public platform to warn others. Hunny is 2025. Adding something after the fact shouldn't be so hard. If your computer purchase system doesn't allow this then maybe you need to rethink your business plan. The computer won't allow it so we cannot be human and realize people can error and make sure you have a great experience it's one of the lamest thing excuses I've ever heard. We aren't in the dark ages lol. Well maybe your business is. Now that I think of it in the past when I have read your responses to people reviews saying they didn't have a good experience at pure soul you're always defensive and blaming the customer. Why don't you try owning your shit. I've supported y'all I believe now way too long. So let me add one more thing because I'm not rereading my last review. This order was so greasy by the time I opened the bag the grease was leaking thru container and brown bag. Gross.

Yelp
Pure soul was such an amazing vegan food experience! My friends and I went to the Line for lunch (super nice outdoors area with tons of seating and drink/food options). Pure Soul was one of the menus offered. Naturally, I had to try it. We ordered the "animal" fries and hot chicken sandwich, as well as the quesadilla. All three were so good! The fries were definitely better than the ones at in n out. They had some crisp to them even with the sauce and toppings. And I loved the addition of the jalapeños. The sauce was very similar to spread at in n out as well. The chikn sandwich was also so delicious! I loved the texture of the chikn. It was crispy, very well seasoned and had a generous amount of hot sauce coated around it. The quesadilla was also really good. It was very generously loaded with veggies and cheese. The filling was cooked and seasoned super well. Pure soul is definitely the best vegan food I've tried in Sacramento so far. I'm looking forward to coming back to explore the rest of their menu!

Yelp
I've been wanting to go for ages and I finally got the opportunity. Let me tell you, worth the damn wait. Order on the website and then go pick up (save you time and frustrations in the small parking lot) ! Don't drive, then order, and then pickup. There is maybe one or two tables. It's more of a pick up and eat elsewhere. The food, holy moly! So delicious! So flavorful! The chickun or how have spelled on the menu was fire! The tatchos were loaded and heavy in the box. Very much recommend!

Yelp
8/9/2024- Son grabbed the baby got bacon burger- all vegan on a brioche bun.. He also wanted a milkshake- so picked the Willie Wonka shake.. Shake was perfect .. not sure what was in it, but good.. Burger was good.. Glad he wanted me to try this spot.!

Yelp
Great spot to pick up vegan grub! Order online and pickup from The Line. Pure Soul's menu is full of delicious vegan food...burgers, burritos and more! There are 2 tables to eat outside too.

Sanaz M.

Yelp
I really like the food they have to offer, but I'm not a fan of the atmosphere. I wish they would have a brick and mortar with seating one day, but the fact that they take SO long to prepare it made me want to remove stars. The laid back hipster atmosphere and no sense of urgency translates to the food and preparation. I was sitting at the line and NOBODY was here and I'm waiting almost 30 min while watching my husband eat or he waits til his food gets cold.... Stuck with 5 stars because I still respect and support the business and their future endeavors.

Yelp
Pure Soul moved a while ago and I never updated my review. It's located at The Line, a commercial kitchen that multiple restaurants use and it's a hub for delivery or pick up. You can order on their website thelineeats.com

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Sometimes this vegan just craves some fast food! The onion rings are the best ever and that hot chicken sandwich is unbeatable! Thank you!!!

Yelp
Fried "chicken" sandwich was not bad, but it wasn't amazing either. fries were mediocre. I believe my husband ordered a burrito. He did not like i.

Yelp
I've been meaning to check this vegan comfort soul food place out for a long time now and I'm so glad I finally did! We didn't realize that it was located within a joint kitchen with online pickup or delivery only. We arrived at The Line Kitchens, scanned the QR code to view the menu, and ordered in our car. Everything looked so good we had a difficult time deciding what to order and ended up ordering a bit of everything. They have a monitor by the front with a queue of all the orders and estimated pick up time. Our order was prepared quickly and we waited for about 15-20 minutes. We brought our food home to enjoy it in the comfort of our home. There are a couple tables outside for those who like to enjoy their food freshly prepared. We ordered the carnitas and phish tacos, animal house fries, big poppa chick'n sando, motown philly cheesesteak, california love burrito, and sides of both pesto and queso mac n cheese. The carnitas and phish tacos were both very delicious! Our favorite was the carnitas tacos as it was very flavorful. The animal house fries was very good as well but I wished there were more toppings as the fries on the bottom were quite dry. The pesto and queso mac n cheese were rich and creamy and you can't tell it's vegan! The queso one was definitely our favorite as it was more flavorful. We all loved the philly cheesesteak as it was so juicy and well seasoned! The big poppa chick'n sando was ok and was nothing special. I'm glad I added pickles and wished I customized it some more as it was minimal. We added mushrooms and barbosa to the california love burrito but it very dry mainly because of the fries. Would recommend ordering prior to picking up and trying their motown philly cheesesteak! Will definitely be back to try other item on their menu!!

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was mind blowing. The sauce and crispy chicken. So good. I can't believe this is Vegan.

Yelp
This last visit, we ordered thru the website platform for pick up. I was impressed that it was made exactly to order even with the add-ons. Their cupcakes are super moist- props to that! Orders are made to perfection. These days I almost expect my pick up orders to be made incomplete or missing items. And finally, we both ordered chicken burgers. My wife loved hers. For mine, I enjoyed it but the size is pretty massive. I actually cut it in half just to feel like I enjoyed it. Yes, it's comfort style, I get it, but the size could be more reasonable. Prices are pretty on par with vegan items these days. And lastly, vegan queso was good. Used that as a dipping sauce for the fresh garlic fries. Thank you for reading!

Yelp
Left a one star review mentioning specifics about what was wrong and the "owner" replied with a LONG pissy petty message reply. You should just not reply if you are going to do that. No wonder your business is failing and getting bad reviews. I'll never eat there again. You should spend more time learning how to make decent food that tastes good and is hot when served.

Yelp
Hnnnng this place is too delicious. I can hardly handle it. I must go back immediately. It is on the pricy side, but worth it. That is why I give it five stars even if one of the ladies was snippy with me and my friends when we came in last. Since they are pick up only, we opted to order online ahead of time so food would be ready after work on a weekday. The ordering system online works decently well and I didn't have any issues. If things are unavailable it does say so. They have vegan treats you can't find anywhere else in the area. I've had the fried chikn sammie, the vegan mac, the vegan mac with spicy-ish queso, and the crunchwrap. The crunchwrap doesn't make me miss the one from T Bell at all, and their fried chikn doesn't make me miss the real thing at all. Yes indeed this is fantastic food. Rich flavors, fresh produce and buns, yummy vegan condiments, crispy vegan protein, creamy mac, I was just in heaven and will absolutely be back soon. There's a yelp check in for a free drink so be on the lookout for that. Tables and chairs await in the parking lot for enjoying the food, but in the hot hot sun it wouldn't be pleasant. We opted to take our food to the shaded patio of Tupelo coffee across the street, but there is the option to eat outside at Clubhouse next door too. Not sure how the owners feel about that even with drinkies purchase, but it's worth looking into for the future, note to myself. The parking lot is tiny and one way, and Elvas continues to be busy af, but anyone who frequents East Sac knows it's a parking nightmare and I won't fault the business that gives me yummy comfort foods. No bathroom report since they don't offer dine in, and no vegan corner because it's all vegan, baby. Order online here: https://www.puresoulpbeats.com/

Yelp
There is no place to sit so you have to sit in your car but the staff were so nice to let me and my friend sit inside because we were the only ones there and it was dark and cold outside the food was good and it was my first time eating a vegan bacon burger never thought i would eat a one and it was so good

Yelp
I'm so glad I got to try this new place to Came down to pick up my Jackfruit & Diane/Mac & Cheese plus the Barbcoa Taco meal. I'm not Full on Vegan but I was completely blown away by the flavors but my girls who are also extremely Picky Eaters , practically devoured my sandwich! If all vegan/vegetarian food tasted like this I would make the full transition !!
google avatar

Priscilla A.

Yelp
This was a communal ghost kitchen so there was no indoor seating, only one outdoor table. The food was TASTY but not the healthiest of plant based options. All orders have to be made online, so I recommend ordering in advance so you're not waiting for you food outside.

Yelp
. I got two sandwiches and garlic tots for about $40 ($34.75 before delivery doordash fees etc.) For being the most I've ever spent on any chicken sandwich I was extremely disappointed. The texture of the vegan chicken is SPONGEY and really greasy. I feel like no review were transparent with the chicken patty enough. It definitely meets my spicy criteria and it tasted decent but the texture just throws it off completely. I've had better vegan chicken sandwiches. I really wanted to love it but pass I was looking forward to the Jackfruit sandwich the most all weekend and it wasn't too much of a letdown because it was my first. It's definitely really different. Personally, I think it's too sweet, I wish I would've listened to the other reviews. definitely more coleslaw would've evened it out It's not too bad though, definitely better than the chicken sandwich. Wouldn't spend $15 on it again ever. The garlic tots saved me from being completely sad about wasting money. It was actually delicious but it's tater tots you can't really go wrong with it. Overall, to each their own, some people really liked these sandwiches. I am a seasonal vegan I do cleanses every spring and try different vegan spots so I'm not meat biased when it comes to substitutes. They just weren't for me. I am definitely going to try other staples and popular items here, I still have high hopes for this spot. Jackfruit & Diane 7/10 Some Like It Hottie 6.5/10 Garlic Tots 8.5/10 UPDATE: i got home from the gym starving and reheated everything and added lettuce to both sandwiches and I'll admit they were pretty good.

Jazilyn R.

Yelp
You can't order in person or sit down and eat. the it's crunchy was nothing special, you could get it at taco bell. The Mac and cheeses is a 5 star product loved it so much

Yelp
I am NOT a vegan, but I like to try the plant based food out there because I adore veggies and tofu. Pure Soul is based in a small strip mall off of H with parking (total plus). It used to be the old hot dog place the "Weinery". The space inside is pretty small so I've only eaten there via to-go. They don't take reservations so it's strictly walk in. Ive had their jackfruit burger, totchos and Mac and Cheese. All were very good! The tots had loads of veggies and the Mac and cheese was creamy. Even my meat loving husband agreed it didn't taste vegan. It seems their menu has changed in the last year but if you're vegan and are looking for legitimately tasty vegan burgers, tots with toppings or Mac and "cheese" I can't recommend Pure Soul enough.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Tater tots and Mac and cheese were good. I got the BLT after seeing the other pictures of it. The bacon was soggy and chewy, the bun was burnt on one side, and way too much sauce. Pretty inedible.

Yelp
The first thing is that staff was super short with us and very rude. We didn't know the menu and are visiting they welcomed others with open arms but pointed to the window for us to see the menu. They didn't help with any menu questions and seems uninterested in talking. I was super excited for the bbq burger and animal fries and was very disappointed. The food was definitely rushed out of the kitchen- and it felt like no thought or care went into it. The burger honestly just didn't taste good. The animal fries barely had any cheese or sauce on them it looked like they tossed the toppings in one corner and put it in the microwave. It lacked flavor. I'm very disappointed in the food and experience.

Yelp
I'm blown away by the food! I ordered the Big Poppa with the garlic aioli sauce & VCC Kale and greens. Absolutely amazing delicious food. My husband took me on a date and I've been wanting to try this place for a while, but we live about 30 min away so I was excited to try it. I've eaten at a few vegan places through the years and nothing compares to this place. I will be coming back again and again. I tried my husbands food too and everything was incredible. The restaurant set up (from what I can tell) ; you order ahead of time and then pick up at the window once you're notified. They have tables and chairs and a small interior, but it doesn't appear to be a sit and eat place, which is pretty modern. I want to mention the Big Poppa and garlic aioli again, that b is still on my mind and taste buds. Can't wait to come back and try more foods. Keep up the great work, I'll be back.

Yelp
I've become hooked on this place! It's a nice 10 minute drive from work so I pick up my lunch and eat it in the shade somewhere, usually once a week. I'm thrilled I can have a vegan Reuben finally here in Sacramento! I've tried most of the tacos and so far I'd recommend the Beyond meat taco the most, it's very good. There's so much variety on the menu I look forward to trying something different each time. Some things to note: it's a small parking lot and fills up at lunch time. You can park across the street on the side of the pharmacy though. Also, you can order early online and schedule your pickup time, which may cut down on your wait once you arrive to get your food.

Ramon G.

Yelp
The food is absolutely out of this world. Animal style fries, the Phillycheez sandwich is BETTER than any Philly cheese steak I've ever had hands down PERIOD. ONLY thing I could leave as feedback is less sugar in the lemonade. The chickn sandos are phenomenal too.

Yelp
Since this establishment wants to send me rude messages directly and block me from returning them I will post them here. All of your affiliated "Ms. S" messages have been recorded as well. My statements were true. So try me. you're annoying and harassing me. This is all because I disliked your nasty cheese and rude service. Plus your fake support of black peoples. Your threats mean nothing. I'm entitled to my opinion of public business and I will make it public to the public!!!!! Since your obviously not of my culture BIH is a common term. It doesn't meant bitch nor does it mean bruh. So it's slang. Im not changing anything. And wth does that mean " we save all our orders by name" so what!!!! How do you know i came in alone? How do you know I'm the one that paid under my name? YOU DON'T, SO TAKE A SEAT. PS: who is my friend? You keep mentioning my friend? Obviously I'm not the only one who has had a NOW HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE. Just because others don't like your food or service. Doesn't meant we're all friends!!! Your just weird.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for months now! I shared a Nashville Hottie sandwich with my friend since I was trying a ton of new places before I made my way here. The patty was amazing! I don't know what exactly they make this patty out of, but for starters, it's SO CRUNCHY! You can hear yourself ASMR-ing and it's the best. Anyway, my best guess is that it's made of maybe chickpeas? I really don't know....I'll probably update this review once I find out haha. The sandwich also has a generous amount of slaw mixed in with a bit of hot sauce, and also a good amount of cucumber slices. My sandwich was falling apart, but I really liked how the sandwich came with so much. The only thing I wished is that the onion bread was toasted! It was a little surprising to me to bite into a room temp bread, but hot patty and cool slaw. I guess I'm just used to toasted buns for sandwiches/burgers! Besides an onion bun, you can opt for whole wheat and some other choice that I can't remember off the top of my head. With Yelp check-in you can get a drink...your choice between a craft soda or lemonade (regular or strawberry). We opted for the strawberry lemonade. It's got a pretty gradient, and it's tart and yummy! Service was also friendly! The gal helping us let us know it'd be a bit of a wait. I overheard her telling another party it would be 20-25 min, but it ended up being 15 minutes. Not bad! There's also like three 2-seater tables setup just next to the shop outside. Parking lot can get pretty packed, especially since it's small and several parking spaces are taken up by outdoor dining at another nearby establishment. Would love to come back soon!

Yelp
Pure Soul is at the back left corner of the retail parking lot. We circled twice in the evening but was able to find it. I'm not a fan of plant based food and very picky about the few restaurants and entrees that I surprisingly do like but always willing to try something new. The "My Chick'n Bad" (Fried Chick'n Sandwich) is a Pure Chick'n topped with tomato, lettuce, pickle, & bacon mayo. I was almost confused when I ate it because it tasted very close to a chicken patty. The lack of cheese equivalent topping was noticeable and sorely missed. This was my favorite out of the bunch because of the unique taste and bacon mayo. I also tried several "Something to Taco Bout" with different types of non-meat including Barbacoa (a spicy jackfruit style Mexican dish) and Carnitas (a shredded chicken style jackfruit based dish). Both types of non-meat had interesting textures and tried to imitate real meat. The sauce was really the winner of the dish and I think it could make almost any non-meat taste great! Lastly I had the "Animal House Fries" with crispy seasoned fries topped with melted cheese, caramelized onions, and house soul sauce. This is close to high quality fast food animal fries. I think non-meat replacements are best when they're not imitating stand alone real meat. The service is personable and friendly once you talk with someone - but I was out in the rain waiting to get someone's attention. Probably best to leave the door open if they can't see a line through the windows.

Yelp
Pure Souls is purely good! Absolutely vegan food MVP. They have burgers, burritos, fried chick'n, mac n' cheeze, quesadillas, hot dogs, nachos, fries, tots, wraps, sandwiches, bowls, salads, cookies, cakes, and ice cream milk shakes! My favorite item is definitely the California Burrito with Barcacoa (Jackfruit). It is stuffed with veggies, potato tots, guacamole, cheeze, salsa, choice of protein, and magical sauce. I highly recommend you order two to save one for later! Also tip to warm them up in the oven for extra melty cheeze! My favorite appetizer is their fried mac n' cheeze balls. Just how they make this amazes me. Get it with the pesto dip sauce, you won't regret it. My favorite drink is their house made Chai Latte. When you need a pick-me-up or just have a sweet tooth, this cold and creamy tea made with oatly milk will do it. My favorite shake (so far) is the Oreo shake. This is made with Eclipse non-dairy ice cream. And it is heavenly! You can not go wrong with any items on their menu. (Except if you are not fond of cheeze, then I do not recommend the quesadillas.) The food is amazing, the portions are huge, and the service is friendly. Definitely give this this place a try, vegan or not.

Yelp
I ran into this place through yelp when I was searching for Vegan places. I always wanted to try it for awhile but never gotten to until now and oh man! Best Vegan soul food I have ever had! I'm not Vegan but I brought a few friends who are and they would agree! All there items are amazing! I also had their shakes but I forgot to take a pic of but they were good as well. Altas Monroe big poppa is really good, California love is good, all there macs are amazing! And there are some other ones I have tried and my friends have tried but I can't seem to remember lol. Also love love Auntie!! She's the sweetest person ever! She gave us the run down of all the items on the menu when I was new and occasionally check ins if we enjoyed our food which is always a yes! Lol

Yelp
I love this place, don't get me wrong, but I'm going to second guess myself every time I want to come back though. I usually order one of the chick'n sandwiches (they're amazing) but last night I was PMS craving a veggie burger BAD. So I'm checking out the menu, and low and behold a photograph of a BEAUTIFUL veggie burger that toted a house made veggie patty, I could see pieces of veggies and everything it looked so good!!!! Sent my partner to order and pick up so we could eat after work and thinking about this veggie patty all day. Nobody makes a veggie patty anymore I can't wait! Get the burger. It's got a Beyond patty. Couldn't even eat it. Wasted $14 for a shitty ass beyond patty. Apparently I didn't read the ordering page hard enough, only the menu description. Apparently the "house made veggie patty" means Impossible or Beyond meat alternatives. Clearly nobody truely makes a veggie patty anymore. SUPER disappointing. Take the veggie burger off your menu. It's a lie. Ain't nuthin but a veggie thang - really isn't. A house made veggie patty would be cheaper to make the buying fake meat. Gross.

Yelp
My favorite Sacramento vegan food stop. The customer service and food is always amazing. I love the Chai Tea and their pesto Mac and Cheese. I've tried their California burrito and burgers with amazing flavor and full serving size.

Yelp
If someone says the words "vegan food" to you and images of boring salad and bland tofu enter your mind, you absolutely must check out Pure Soul immediately. It will alter what you know of meatless cuisine and wake your taste buds up. I've been here several times, including when they first launched, and throughout their journey with COVID-19. From the first bite of their now infamous Atlas Monroe chick'n sandwich, I knew they were bringing something different to the scene. The food is flavorful and doesn't disappoint. It's pricey, but splurge-worthy for both your wallet and your waist. You're not coming here for kale anyway so sink your teeth into some of that fried chick'n and just enjoy. This unassuming, tiny spot in an East Sac strip mall is women-owned and operated (yay!) and frying up the best fried chick'n in Northern California. I had previously never heard of Atlas Monroe Fried Chick'n so I was eager to try it. Brace yourself vegans, it's better than Butcher's Son in Berkeley. I'm not kidding. What they're doing to chick'n sandwiches here is a terrific example of the evolution of plant-based comfort food. And that mac and cheese? Some of the best I've EVER had. Recently I had their Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge entry: the Wild Wild Western chick'n sandwich. It was absolute perfection and I really hope they put it on the permanent menu. I'm looking forward to dining indoors here someday and seeing what else they come up with (hopefully a killer brunch). The hype is real with this place (and their chick'n) and I hope they're here for many years to come!

Yelp
Headed to Tahoe for the weekend and after our flight, picking up the rental car and before heading on the road for two hours, we wanted to eat! We headed to Yelp to check out some places. Chipotle popped up and even Plant Power. Since we could get both of those back home in San Diego, we looked for another spot. We saw Pure Soul Plant and scanned the menu. Almost instantly my husband made up his mind. We ordered: -Garlic Tots -"Bacon" Mac and Cheese -Animal Style Fries -Crunch Wrap -My Chick'n Bad- Pure Chick'n Fried and really, we enjoyed the hell out of all of it. The Garlic Tots were probably my favorite. They used real/raw garlic and it reminded me of the garlic fries at AT&T park but BETTER. My Crunch wrap was super packed and super flavorful but it was a little messy. We would absolutely visit again if we were in the area.

Yelp
I was really excited to find this vegan restaurant. So many things sounded good and lots of great reviews. I ordered the nachos and mac n cheese. The nachos were great, fresh and good flavors all around. The restaurant photos show fresh jalapeños so I was a little disappointed when it had canned jalapeños instead. The Mac n cheese sauce was really bland which I didn't expect based off the raving reviews. The pasta itself was also extremely well done, like mushy. I would definitely try them again, this first visit wasn't the best but could've just been an off day and their menu looks promising.

Yelp
Very good plant based meals! My husband (who eats lots of meat) says his chicken sandwich was delicious. I got two kinds of tacos. Both were good, the beyond meat one was better than the veggie one. I'm not a huge fan of beyond meat but the avocado cole slaw on top was a good addition.

Yelp
Purely amazing, this was so delicious! And it's not beef, what? This BBQ burger was honestly, the best I ever had. Great flavor and texture, comes on a soft bun that's perfectly grilled with crunchy edges. Filled with a delicate balance of condiments, for a completely satisfying meal. Due to covid precautions, they encourage online orders but you can still place orders at the door. The wait time wasn't bad at all. They were gracious enough to bring your order to your car. P.S. the garlic fries are bomb too!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for vegan soul food and I really wanted to love this place, but after multiple visits...it's just meh. Let's start off with the clear winners. The mac and cheese, the queso mac and cheese and most importantly---the pesto mac and cheese! SHEESH! So good, so creamy so yummy. Don't get the small, get the large or you'll regret not having more, especially if you have to share with thieving macaroni munchers. The pesto style is so comforting. This is where food additions start. The barbacoa tacos are amazing as well. The jackfruit has a great texture and have a hint of smoke. The salsa, onions and cilantro make me feel like I'm eating at a real taco truck. All I would need are some homemade tortillas (flour please) and I'm imaginatively, I'm there! Now for the bad. The pulled jackfruit sandwich (Jackfruit & Diane) was way too sweet and nothing else. Do not recommend. The Point Steak sandwich was 80% hard crusty bread, and 20% dried hockey pucks of 'meat' and plastic yellow cheese. Do not recommend. And lastly, the worst. The cauliflower wings. I've ordered them twice and they were raw on the inside both times! (check out the pics) They use way too much batter! So much so that they never have a change to get crispy/crunchy so they just end up being gooey and doughy. Add the hot sauce and you can kiss any semblance of crisp good bye. I tried to stick them in my air fryer and even that didn't work. I peeled off the batter and was appalled. The amount of batter to actual cauliflower is laughable- and for $9.00 at that! Do not recommend.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! How did I not know of your existence?! Just ate the Baby Got Bacon with a side of queso Mac and I'm in HEAVEN. I can't wait to try every single other item on the menu, but I can't right now because I'm stuffed and in the sweetest little food coma ever. I scarfed my food too quick to even take a picture! Thank you!!

Yelp
Vegan Food +++ I've quit eating meat for about 6-7 months now and it feels great! I was in the city so I decided to grab a brunch before heading back to SJ. The service is A+! I came right in when the store opened at 12pm. Took about 10 minutes to create my fresh food! She even came out to find me to give it! So sweet I got : - Pure Soul Burger : YUM. Taste just like a normal burger. (except it's vegan!). It also has Vegan Cheese on it. I'm personally not a fan of vegan cheese but it wasn't too bad. 4/5 Stars $11 I definitely would come back if I were to ever be in Sacramento! ** Five Stars because : - super friendly service - fast service - crispy as heck tots

Yelp
What a surprising restaurant! We had a birthday party for a vegan friend and had BBQ, shrimp, potato salad, cheesecake, all vegan. Delicious! I'm not vegan but the food was both tasty and entertaining!

Yelp
This place is simply incredible! I stopped by for their saturday brunch and I devoured the vegan scrambler bowl which had scrambled tofu, beyond sausage, potatoes, bell peppers, spinach, and salsa. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. ~ Flavorful, filling, and overall spectacular! ~ I can't wait to try their vegan lunch items such as their famous nashville hottie sandwich, fried mac n cheese balls, gluten free baja bowl, and their housemade bbq sauce soul burgers. There is something here for everyone and I can't wait to try them all. I have to agree with their motto; 100% vegan, 100% delicious, it's just good food! Make sure you call in or order online! Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
I have visited Pure Soul a couple more times since my last review. I had the pleasure of picking up takeout during brunch on a Sunday. I had the strawberry croissant French toast! It was so delicious and pretty I got pretty full after a few bites. I took pictures, but, they have gotten deleted by mistake to post them. Tonight, I had the My Chik'n Bad sandwich. You can choose of 3 options for the chik'n (Nashville Hottie, grilled, or regular chik'n). I went with the Nashville Hottie with Louisiana hot sauce! Yum!! This sandwich did not lack in flavor and pretty good to enjoy on its own. I also had the seasoned tots (a must have every time I order) and the iced chai tea (my absolute favorite drink). Pure Soul has never lacked in food quality, great customer service (the staff is always so kind and gracious when I arrive), and making vegan eating fun and delicious. I will be coming back!

Yelp
Pure Soul is definitely talented at asking vegan food fast good. They have a very extensive menu which is almost a drawback because it's difficult to decide what you want to order. I really like the jackfruit tacos (Barbacoa is slightly better than carnitas but they're both good). The jackfruit has good texture and even better flavor. Their chicken sandwiches are pretty popular and worth trying if you don't know what to get. I was also really impressed by the fried Mac and Cheese balls. Many vegan restaurants attempt Mac and Cheese but it's mediocre at best. Pure Soil actually succeeds at making it both creamy and flavorful. The fried balls are a fun way to order too. The portions are pretty good for the prices as well. The only thing I think they can work on is the service. They are still not allowing anyone inside the restaurant and you order from a line at the front door. Unfortunately, there's a single line for ordering and pickup which slows things down. We did not get any napkins or utensils with our to go order, which I assumed would be standard, and the tacos were somewhat greasy. These are minor things that I think they should be able to fix to improve the experience. Again, the food is good and definitely worth trying.

Yelp
Their jackfruit burger is amazing!!! Animal fries is freakin amazing!! Nonvegan people should try this place because it's really delicious and they should try it and maybe they maybe will opened their mind about veganism. Just saying. Also, They just relocated in different place now.

Yelp
The location is good. It's nestled in a corner of East Sac near Sac State. Transit options like the bus and scooters are available. The parking lot here is atrocious. There are too many businesses in this little shopping center that all have to share collectively maybe 20 parking spots. It's also one way? So if you couldn't find any parking spots in your first driving lane you have to leave the shopping center, take a right at the next street, hit a U turn, and go back to the parking lot to try the other lane?? Very backwards, not intuitive, and a waste of time. You are greeted with nice smells on the outside and friendly staff. It's kind of strange you can't open the front door. They are essentially take out only but you can eat at one of the four tables they have outside. The serving sizes are decently large. The burgers were pretty big and full of ingredients. I wish they came standard with fries instead of having to buy a separate side of them. You do get a whole box of fries which is nice. The flavor of my 'chicken' sandwich was okay. It tasted like peas, mushrooms, and curry. I was rather fond of the burger though. It was cooked just right and had the right amount of seasoning. The fries were really good *chefs kiss* The prices are criminal ($$$$$). I know it's a plant based restaurant so you almost expect it to be expensive but good golly gosh. You break the piggy bank when you come to eat here. I'd say the average price for an item is around $16. You are not walking out of here under $40 for a meal for two. The 'burgers' are damn near $20 a piece. The flavor almost makes up for the price but it just needed a little more love to be a 5star review from me. Bottom Line/TLDR: EXPENSIVE But tasty vegan food

Yelp
My favorite go too! Always good food and never had a bad experience! Flavorful! Little pricey but it's great
