Wow. When I arrived for the first time, I saw how quiet this coffee spot was and off the beaten path, and I almost didn't go inside. I was looking for a different vibe to write, but went in anyway. Yesterday was my first time here, and I will definitely be returning. I sat in quietude for about an hour and a half and wrote.
The food was actually pretty good. So was the tea, and I'm not the biggest tea fan. I had a turkey and avocado "grilled cheese" sandwich. Other than a little too much arugula that I took off, it was surprisingly yum. I'm a pretty hard judge of food. Most coffee shop food is not good, decent and edible at best. But this sandwich was warm, not overly toasted or crumbly, and flavorful. With it, I also enjoyed ginger turmeric tea. I'm trying to reduce my coffee intake. I was skeptical, but oh boy! The tea was not just water from a tea bag; it was a little thick, somewhat creamy in consistency and sweet. SCORE! I couldn't stop thinking about that tea, and the heavenly ginger turmeric flavor was in my head the rest of the day.
I could definitely see myself stopping by here sometimes just to pick up a tasty drink while running errands on that side of the South Bay, which is what I noticed other customers doing.
Finally, David must be the owner, and he is so nice, humble, and attentive. They've definitely got a new fan in me.
