If you know me, you know I have ridiculously high standards for coffee. The coffee here is "pretty good" -- interesting beans brewed on solid kit by skilled baristas who take the time they need. The flat white was exceptional, with ideal texture and textbook contrast of flavor between the espresso and the milk. The Kenyan espresso could have been tuned better, to my light-roast taste, and I felt the pourover could have had more contact time. Pursue is a great neighborhood spot. They get to know you, and they care about making a great experience, including food and coffee and service. They contribute to their neighborhood and the coffee is only part of what makes this place great.

Google
Had an absolutely stunning 'tall black' (think short Americano.. essentially a double shot of espresso poured into 150g of hot water) here. The fellow behind the bar suggested the signature blend when I was leaning single origin, and boy it did not disappoint. Ended up with the SO too. These folks are artists. He also spent the time to share his recipe. The blueberry scone I got was also delicious .. but that signature tall black is just... *chef's kiss* Coffee should only ever be this good.

Found this little treasure a year ago. I have been back over and over. The service is amazing and the coffee is delicious and always so pretty! The parking is small, but you can easily find parking across the street. Trust me the treat is worth it! 🥰

Google
Staff was super nice and friendly! Building looks rough on the outside but is cute inside, just really small. Our lattes were only filled like an inch from the top which was too bad and the milk was frothed too foamy with no latte art which is why this isn’t 5 stars. It is a decent specialty coffee option but could find better. The flavor was great though and they make their own vanilla bean syrup

Google
Pursue Coffee is the essence of a neighborhood shop; warm, inviting, and serving exceptionally delicious coffee & breakfast. The atmosphere is this shop is fostered by their owner David, who really cares about people and coffee. Their water kettle is perpetually set at the exact temperature needed for pour overs, and these cups end up tasting better than what the roasters could have hoped for. They also do all their baking in house and the food delicious. This is obviously extremely rare, and another example of just how different this shop is. If you want a great, local experience, go to Pursue Coffee!

Google
The best mocha in all of LA is found at pursue coffee. And that’s just the start. The owner pays such attention to every detail and it really shows. From the perfectly poured pour overs to the delicious matcha latte, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. The food is also incredible. I don’t even like egg salad toast, but theirs is to die for. And their avocado toast, the eggs are perfectly cooked and the avocado perfectly ripe. It takes every ounce of my self control to not one bite the entire thing. Highly recommend trying this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
My favorite drip coffee in the South Bay. Has a great charm to it and is a quiet relaxing place to enjoy a high quality coffee. Homemade baked goods are delicious as well.

Google
Great, truly great pourovers. I had the “Big City” and my wife had an Ethiopian, and both were excellent. Parking is tough. We went around 8am on a Saturday morning so we got the last parking spot. I bet locals just walk there but we were coming from the airport.

Yelp
I've been a Pursue regular for about 3 years now. I first discovered this hidden gem when I was studying for a grad school exam and needed some quality caffeine. Needless to say, Pursue did not disappoint, and has only gotten better over the past few years. Pursue's success largely exists because everyone at Pursue knows coffee. And I don't mean "know" as in they know different coffee drinks and can recommend a drink. I mean "know" as in understands the chemistry of extracting flavor from quality coffee beans. Every cup, whether it be espresso-based, small batch drip, or pour over, is brewed with years of knowledge and genuine pride in producing the best product possible. Beyond coffee, Pursue offers an exceptional selection of pastries, toasts, teas, and desserts, all crafted with the same pride as their coffee is. It's truly a one-stop shop for a great way to improve your day: every single menu item is a slam dunk. In summary, Pursue is not your average small coffee shop. Rather, it is a community of passionate, kind, and talented people absolutely dedicated to providing the best possible experience. In a world where quality is being systematically deemphasized, Pursue serves repeatable perfection. To the fine folks at Pursue, thank you for all you do. You've earned a lifelong customer and friend.

Yelp
A small family owned business that bestows a cozy, welcoming space to settle into. The genuine, kind smiles and hospitable voices upon greeting are humbling and heart felt. And with every sip of one's drink, you can tell they carefully craft it with care. The quality is utterly outstanding.

Yelp
Was in the area for work and knew I was about to spend an hour + commuting back to the Valley. Decided to come here because of their Homemade Chai. And so happy I did! I ended up getting the Chai, Vanilla Latte, and a butter biscuit. Everything was delicious! The Chai was intentionally prepared. It has the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. The biscuit was such a yummy treat while stuck in traffic. Crumbly, buttery, & sooo satisfying. Service is friendly. If I'm not mistaken its seems to be a husband and wife duo, and they are so sweet! Feels good to support a family own and ran business. The space is perfect if you have to do some computer work, or catch up with a friend. A very easy laidback vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Whenever I'm on this side of town, I make an effort to go to Pursue Coffee. On this day, I wanted to have coffee and a treat, and get some work done. There were a few spots available when I went in. I love their huge wooden table that looks like it was sliced from a log. As usual, I asked the server what their favorite thing to eat is and they recommended the blueberry scone so I went for it - it did not disappoint. I am always a little bit nervous with scones because sometimes they can feel super heavy. This one has a great proportion of berries to scone and was delicious. The flat white was beautiful, and I made it to my table without spilling it. Their drinks are served perfectly temperature and perfect flavor! The drink is smooth which I like compared to some coffee shops where the bitter coffee bites. I can't wait till my next visit and to try something new!

Yelp
This is the best coffee shop in Redondo Beach and one of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. I love to see friendly familiar faces each time I visit. The drinks are specially handcrafted when you order. They have the best chai tea lattes ever! I also love that they make fresh baked goods every morning, the blueberry muffins and the scones are my favorite. I am a regular here.

Yelp
I stopped by one Tuesday morning after hearing so many good things about this place! It's a small, cozy and inviting Korean-owned cafe. I got their hot vanilla latte with oat milk. They use real vanilla beans in their vanilla latte and you can taste the difference! I normally don't love lattes but this one was amazing! I loved how light and perfectly balanced it was--not too sweet and not too milky with beautiful latte art on top. This is my new favorite vanilla latte in the South Bay! They also had some fresh pastries in their display that I didn't get but would love to try next time. Service was awesome too. The owner was super friendly and warm! I will definitely be back! Parking: free in small lot in front.

Yelp
This coffee shop is such a precious find. It's small and cozy, and seems to be run by a family. They have quality coffee, probably one of the best coffees I've had in South Bay. If I lived closer, I would probably go all the time. Can't wait to be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee shop and my all time #1 Service: friendly, quick and efficient Setting: clean, quiet, unique and welcoming Food: fantastic with decent prices Drink: 11 out of 10 Can't wait to go back.... next week

Yelp
So happy I got to try this coffee shop! It's adorable!!! It has inside seating where you can enjoy your coffee or use your laptop. David was very sweet and helpful while ordering. His suggestions were helpful. It was a much-needed impromptu coffee stop after the gym. Ordered vanilla latte with the almond butter banana toast. Everything was excellent! Can't wait to come back! Thanks, David!

Mabel O.

Yelp
The best coffee, pastries and service in the South Bay! Their scones are amazing as is everything else.

Yelp
That cheese sandwich bommmmb Delicious coffee too. Very kind staff. Great place to visit post bike ride.

Yelp
Cozy coffee cafe with artisan beans and housemade pastries. Many spaces to work or share conversations over coffee. My iced dirty matcha latte that was recommended by the smiley employee was rich and flavorful!

Labdhi P.

Yelp
We discovered this cute coffee place a few years ago and absolutely had fallen in love with vibe, the owners who were kind and friendly and the exceptional coffee and unfortunately forgot the name of the place. So happy to have found this place again.

Brianna T.

Yelp
The service is always so nice here. The ambience is nice too. Very limited parking, like 4-5 spaces. The matcha is not good. It looks perfectly green but it tasted like milk. I got it without sweetener it tasted chalky and grimey and it kept clumping up in the drink showing it wasn't mixed well enough. The flavor of it was dull and the taste itself just tasted like cheap/bad matcha. I love matcha and drink it often and this place is close by so it's unfortunate that I can't get matcha here again. The vanilla bean iced coffee is good but the flavor itself is mild and it doesn't taste a bit on the milkier side.

Cammie H.

Yelp
Family of coffee perfectionists: This place is THE BEST for espresso/coffee/matcha. Not just SouthBay but California. Excellent beans, made properly. To make it all the more worth your stop the owners are knowledgeable and friendly!

Yelp
Local Starbucks has closed (RIP), so gave this spot a try. The vanilla bean latte was absolutely fantastic. Strong AF and tasty!

Yelp
Coffee Crawl Today! After having a classic Italian experience earlier, we decided to try Pursue seeing that they serve Four Barrel Coffee. The test for any shop is how well they can pull espresso shots. Anyone can use bad roasted beans and bad extractions and make lattes as the espresso gets lost in all that milk. Service is a bit on the slower side, but we are willing to wait for a correctly pulled shot. The single origin espresso was pulled well offering a juicy, sweet espresso with no bitter or burnt aftertaste. The vibe and ambiance is nice a chill as this seems to be a neighborhood shop catering to those living around here. We felt comfortable sitting and sipping our espresso in this quaint little shop and so will you!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Pursue Coffee for a while, especially having passed by it on my way to work. Finally stopped by and got the signature vanilla latte (with oat milk). The barista (owner?) was really nice and courteous and I could tell he takes the time to make each customer's drink with precision and care. My vanilla latte had a lovely scent and full-bodied flavor, but I admit, the oat milk watered down the overall taste (not the fault of the barista, but rather of my milk choice). Overall, decent little cafe for a solid cup of coffee: definitely support this local business!
google avatar

Yelp
Really great little coffee shop. Everything is made with care and attention to detail. The scone was amazing. I love the vanilla bean latte and their cold coffee. My daughter loves their hot chocolate. We will definitely return every time we are in the area.

Yelp
$14 for the worst coffee we've ever had. Couldn't drink either and had to throw away. Employees were nice but save your money. -Chai latte tasted like straight milk -vanilla latte sweetener sucked and espresso tasted burnt
google avatar

Jas B.

Yelp
The coffee was excellent. I'm generally quite a coffee snob and appreciate quality espresso and a barista who knows what they're doing and cares equally about the quality of the coffee they serve. It's clear the folks here care about the quality of their coffee. A great little find while visiting the neighbourhood! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Quaint cafe to stop by where you can study, read and relax with baked goods and hot tea/coffee or iced as well. The owners are so polite and desire to make your time there pleasant. They have been around for 6 years and I hope we can keep this gem around. I had their London Fog and as mentioned, it was "good". Baked banana bread warmed up had a wonderful, home made taste. The location is off the street, if it gets busy, someone will leave soon enough for you to park.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
The mocha was delicious. Usually I order 1/2 sweet, but they use real dark chocolate and I had their regular style. Creamy and tasty.
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
First time coming here and was greeted by the friendly gentleman (I think he is the owner?), I didn't get his name but I ordered the chai latte...he made it so perfectly! It was so delicious and I love how they use eco-friendly material. I did take a look at their yummy pastries...my mind and heart were telling me yesss but my waist line was telling me noooo... But don't be like my waist line, go for it! I will be back to try more of their beverages though! The cafe has some small tables inside and a few outside. There's parking available as well, but plenty of street parking, so don't get discouraged if all the spots are full.
google avatar

Janae R.

Yelp
I don't post much but when I do... I had their matcha latte twice in the past three days and I must say it was made to perfection. I'm tempted to try their vanilla bean latte but their matcha, unsweetened, with almond milk . What an honor.

Yelp
Wow. When I arrived for the first time, I saw how quiet this coffee spot was and off the beaten path, and I almost didn't go inside. I was looking for a different vibe to write, but went in anyway. Yesterday was my first time here, and I will definitely be returning. I sat in quietude for about an hour and a half and wrote. The food was actually pretty good. So was the tea, and I'm not the biggest tea fan. I had a turkey and avocado "grilled cheese" sandwich. Other than a little too much arugula that I took off, it was surprisingly yum. I'm a pretty hard judge of food. Most coffee shop food is not good, decent and edible at best. But this sandwich was warm, not overly toasted or crumbly, and flavorful. With it, I also enjoyed ginger turmeric tea. I'm trying to reduce my coffee intake. I was skeptical, but oh boy! The tea was not just water from a tea bag; it was a little thick, somewhat creamy in consistency and sweet. SCORE! I couldn't stop thinking about that tea, and the heavenly ginger turmeric flavor was in my head the rest of the day. I could definitely see myself stopping by here sometimes just to pick up a tasty drink while running errands on that side of the South Bay, which is what I noticed other customers doing. Finally, David must be the owner, and he is so nice, humble, and attentive. They've definitely got a new fan in me.

Yelp
Came in for a midday coffee break with my coworkers and the staff greeted us right away when we walked in. They seemed really busy with orders but were still very welcoming. There were many different drink and pastry options that we had a hard time choosing. I ended up getting an iced matcha latte - regular unsweetened. I appreciated that they had sweetness level and different dairy options! The casual space is super cute for catch ups over coffee, or even a space to do work. It isn't super loud here and there's a small parking lot in front.

Veronica G.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop! Not only is the coffee amazing but my favorite is the turmeric latte. I have always felt welcomed and everyone is kind and attentive. Sometimes I bring a book to read and sit at their table because the atmosphere is so relaxing.

Michael G.

Yelp
Nice local place. Walking distance from home. Nice coffee. Nice people. Drinks only come in one size. Tiny. That's a deal breaker for me. Very disappointing.

Adriana G.

Yelp
Absolutely love their matcha latte!! And their egg toast is the best I've ever had. We recently came back from Japan where we ate so many egg sandos and the egg toast from here not only satisfied my cravings but it also made me gasp from how GOOD it was. I savored each bite, closing my eyes, wishing I had an unlimited amount. I have to go back and try the banana bread & cheese cake. The owners are super sweet too!! And love the decor.
google avatar

Jasmin A.

Yelp
Pursue is easily my favorite coffee shop in the South Bay, dare I say LA? The menu is small which makes ordering simple & the staff is so incredibly kind. The iced vanilla latte is crafted to perfection and the iced matcha is legit ceremonial matcha from Japan so the flavor is unmatched. I've been here twice since landing in LA and will certainly make one more stop before heading back to DC. Wish I could bring this spot back to the east coast with me

Mika G.

Yelp
One of the best matcha lattes I've had in a long time! The staff is so sweet and a really nice ambience inside the shop. Would definitely come back to try their espresso and pastries.

Yelp
I recently had a chance to stop by this coffee shop with a solid 5-star average Yelp rating. At first I want to keep my expectations low, but I was amazed by how good the drink I actually had. [Parking]: Small and tight parking spots, but they are free. [Atmosphere]: The atmosphere of the café felt more homey than cute and the barista behind the counter was pretty efficient. [Menu]: The menu is pretty straightforward, focusing on espresso-based drinks, drip art, tea, and tea lattes. Their specialty lattes include vanilla bean latte, heirloom mocha, house chai latte, matcha latte, London fog, and affogato. In addition, they offer a selection of baked goods such as homemade banana bread, croissants, and cheesecake. *** Vanilla Bean Latte (house vanilla flavor made with A-grade Tahitian vanilla beans & unrefined organic cane sugar + signature espresso - $6.50): There's something special about a drink that has the perfect balance of sweetness and just let the aroma speaks for itself. This cup of latte was absolutely amazing - just slightly sweet and the aroma and smoothness hit all the right notes. *** That was one darn good cup of vanilla bean latte and I find myself possibly revisit this place more frequently whenever I happen to be in this part of town.

Yelp
Who loves coffee!? I do! Pursue Coffee is a cute little cafe located in Redondo Beach. Hubby and I randomly dropped in after dropping our daughter at school. They offer coffee, tea, eats, and bags of coffee. Hubby and I got iced vanilla lattes and an egg toast. The lattes were pretty good and the egg toast wasn't bad. The aesthetic of the cafe is very aesthetic and minimalistic. Which is nice and sometimes less is more. The staff was very friendly and inviting. My only issue was seating. They offer inside seating but it looked like they closed off one side of the cafe for storage. So seating was kinda cramped and tight. Parking can also be a bit tight as well. I didn't see much street parking available at the time I went so just be mindful of that.
google avatar

Yelp
Great tasting authentic coffee. None of those artificial syrups. Very nice staff. Quick service. 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
The owners were friendly, courteous and make a damn good cappuccino. We visited after lunch so much of the pastries were already eaten but still the selection left was superb. You either like coffee or you're a communist.

Yelp
Today was one of those days where I needed a midday coffee to get me through the day. I tried an Iced Vanilla Latte which was refreshing and very much needed. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a beautiful atmosphere and kind barista. After ordering, I received my drink in a timely manner. There were some people studying and making the most of the environment which was pleasant to see. Made me wish I knew about this coffee place when I was in school. Anyway, I recommend it to locals and all who are passing by. The latte gave me the extra boost I needed to accomplish the rest of my work day and meeting!
google avatar

Yelp
Me and my brother Ramón absolutely LOOOOOOVE this place. Best coffee in town. The workers and owners are amazing. Super nice people. The place is small not that much parking but worth it. Definitely don't go if ur in a hurry because it does take a while but again worth it. The vanilla latte w oatmilk and the matcha full sweet with oatmilk are my to go to. Definitely one of my favorite places in Hermosa.
google avatar

Yelp
Its wonderful to be remembered. I love this cute coffee spot because they take the time to get to know you and treat you very well. They know what my favorite coffee is. Grace Customer for Life

Yelp
I stumbled on this place quite by accident as my other go to place was closed. Uhm... am I the only one who didn't know about this place and now I can't un-know it? I had the egg toast and matcha latte. I'm doing some light work inside while eating, and it's really nice here! Come support your local coffee shop!
google avatar

DJ T.

Yelp
Glad I stumbled upon this coffee shop. The aesthetic is clean and minimalistic. There were lots of customers when I went in so I thought it must be good and it was. I had the iced vanilla latte. I'm not a latte expert but it tasted great to me.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
I CRAVE this egg salad toast (2nd time now ordering it!) and today I got avocado added. Everyone should go in and try this toast! It's incredible! I love Pursue because their food and drinks are very tasty and their customer service is great! Getting into the lot isn't the easiest if you're coming from the beach off Aviation but once you're parked you'll be happy I told ya! Cheers

El Guide L.

Yelp
Nicest couple ever to run a coffee shop. David and Sue really care about our coffee and food experience. Serving up Friendly with passion for qualith

Yelp
The Cliffsnotes--Believe the hype! This review is long over due. I have been visiting this coffee shop since 2020. In 2020 I came here almost every day. Everything here is prepared with attention to detail and yes, Love! David and Soojin are absolutely THE best and their care for what they serve comes through every time. My review is specifically for the Vanilla Bean Latte--WOW!! This is simply the best latte I have ever had. The vanilla does not taste artificial like those other places and it's also light and creamy and just perfection each time. Everything that is prepared in the kitchen is exceptional--from the pastries to the sandwiches. Also, their selection of baked goods from the local bakery is fantastic! There is a small parking lot for the shop and also plenty of street parking on Aviation or surrounding streets. Some Seating inside and outside for a short visit. Tip--do not come here in a rush. They take their time putting together your delicious order; come ready to wait a bit, especially on a busy Saturday morning. Conclusion, WORTH IT!

Nicole E.

Yelp
This is the best cup of coffee in the South Bay. If you are looking for a no frills latte where you can really taste the espresso, this is it. Although it's a bit out of my way, I find myself here frequently because the coffee is really a grade above anywhere else in the area. The couple that owns it are incredibly nice and are always hard at work. The shop has ample seating and is comfortable to work in or meet up with friends. The pastries are delicious. They are a bit on the expensive side, but all seem to be homemade with high quality ingredients. My only qualm is that they are closed on Sundays, but I respect it! Just often find myself wanting to spend a Sunday morning here, only to remember it's not open.

Anna H.

Yelp
Really great tasting coffee. You get what you pay for. A well made latte! Espresso is on point. The ratio of milk and ice was also perfect. Wasn't watered down. Will definitely be returning
google avatar

Ali L.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, nice vibe. They craft a top notch traditional cappuccino. Homemade scones and avocado toast super high-quality. Will definitely add this to my rotation of local coffee stops.

Yelp
Quality flavor cappuccino. Only had compostable packaging, lacked ceramic cups. Decently good interior
