10 Non-Brewery Hangouts in Charlotte, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Test your short game and enjoy beer, wine, drink specials, and food favorites like charcuterie, ceviche, Sriracha wings, and filet sliders at this adults-only, modern mini-golf, drink, and dining spot. Digital scorecards and three courses ($15 each or unlimited play for $22) ensure groups keep it moving (drink orders can be placed as you play), and it’s said each course is different across the many other locations, including Miami, New York, and Houston." - Shindy Chen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ |The Puttery, Fun Vibes, Just Skip the Bar The Puttery is a standout when it comes to having a good time. Whether you’re rolling deep with your team or just spending quality time with your person, the vibe is on point. The setup is modern, fun, and the atmosphere keeps the energy high without feeling too busy or overwhelming. The mini golf courses are creative and interactive, making the whole experience feel fresh every time. Now, the only downside and it’s a noticeable one was the bar. The drinks that night were honestly lackluster, and the bartenders missed the mark both in quality and attitude. A smile goes a long way, and unfortunately, that was missing along with any real finesse in the cocktails. That said, if you go for the games and the vibe, you’ll still have a great time. Just maybe grab a drink before you get there.

Arrived here late around 11 pm so we were only allowed to play 9 holes at this point since they closed at 1 am. Got a yummy refreshing cocktail and played the ‘library’ course that was fun and relaxing. Nice for a friend group date or a date night. Did not get the full effect to try the foods and sit at one of the tables that lined the hall beside the courses (Conservatory or library). Course was just challenging enough. Would go again maybe on a rainy or too hot day.

This was my second time coming and I loved my experience even more than the first! The atmosphere, drinks and service are a 10/10. The food was a bit of a miss for me. We got the chopped Italian sandwich, chicken caesar wrap and pepperoni + sausage pizza.

The Puttery is a hole-in-one for fun, vibes, and unforgettable memories! I discovered this hidden gem on a low key Saturday night while looking for a nice place with a relaxed vibe. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a next-level experience. A friendly host greeted me and instantly knew the vibe I was looking for. He led me to a cozy corner with perfect lighting and plush loveseats (total ambiance goals). And the service? Even better. Our waiter had a great personality, was very attentive, and knew the menu well. Since it was getting late, I was craving something light. He recommended a few tapas that hit the spot perfectly, especially the crab cake (flawlessly cooked) and the wings, which were just as impressive. After enjoying my delicious Tapas, I was ready to take a swing at the Library Room course! This course was so beautifully decorated. The attention to detail was phenomenal. This was a fun course to play and a great place for pics! If you’re looking for a night out that’s above par in the best way, The Puttery delivers! This is the perfect place for a Happy Hour, girl’s night out, date night/anything else that you can think of. From the first swing to the last sip, The Puttery scores big on style and entertainment! It isn’t just a game, it’s a whole experience, and it’s a total hole-in-one!

Puttery is the perfect blend of upscale lounge vibes, delicious food, creative drinks, and a super fun golf experience all in one spot. The ambience is fantastic—stylish, lively, and just the right energy for a night out. I highly recommend checking it out, but be sure to arrive early to make the most of the experience! Tell them Karaoke Food Tours sent you & they might hook you up 😉

This was such a fun and unique date experience for me and my husband! Loved the atmosphere of the bar and lounge area, delicious cocktails, and vibes of the put put courses. One of our favorite places we've been to in the city 😊

Google
Such an elegant and fun time for date night. Took my wife here and we had a blast! Even though my life cheated it was fun having a drink and playing all 18 holes and the food matched the energy. Now I wouldn’t recommend to reserve a table because they make you get more food than you need and they charge you regardless of it. But other than that it’s a great a time

Google
This was truly one of the worse places I have been in a long time. For them to promote a Valentines Day Special and not make that top priority was a true joke. $60 per person for us to not have true priority seating, waited 45 minutes just to get our order taken, waited another 30 minutes for a weak appetizer of wings that were smaller than the size of my pinky, and the AUDACITY they had to give us that unseasoned, uncooked pasta was the cherry on top. Then when we get to the front to let them know we will NOT be paying for that service, the owner offered us SHOTS at the bar….SHOTS. You can tell this establishment was not ready for what they were actually providing and it sucks because this was me and my lady first Valentines Day together and it just ruined our entire night. NEVER and I mean NEVER spend your money here.

Yelp
Had a reservation. Table was set and hostess walked us over upon entering. Ordered drinks, but we were delayed getting started to play the course. Waiter told us he'd be back to show us, but he serviced a few tables before acknowledging my wave back to our table. Finally, he tells us we can start and begins to escort us, only to go all the in the back without telling us which course. Ready to start, we lined up to start on one course, only to be told to start on the other. Because I've been to Puttshack in Atlanta a couple of times, I was thinking the courses would be similar. They are not. Puttshack has really unique holes, like a giant Connect Four and extra large Solo cups situated like beer pong. The Puttery is a basic course without unique hole:design. Not as much fun as I had imagined it would be.

Yelp
Fun evening with a group of 20. We had appetizers and pizzas for dinner. The aps were excellent. The shrimp lettuce wraps were delicious! Wings were very good as well. Service was prompt and the main server helping us was really hustling. He checked in often and had a schedule for the food and putt putt. Everything ran on time and smoothly.

Yelp
Great date night! We decided to do one course nine holes. It's $15 a person for one course or $30 a person for unlimited. It's small inside and can get crowded fast. We had our drinks and headed back to play. They went over the rules and we had a blast. Parking is crazy so car pool or take an uber. I would come back because the vibes were vibing.

Yelp
Great spot for a rainy day to meet up with friends. I wish the mini golf was a little better. But we all had fun. Maybe we were spoiled with pop stroke where the bar tenders come in the course and get your drink orders. Some of the holes were easy and others were pretty difficult. Not sure if they can reconfigure the courses to bring them up to date. We took a break in between the two courses and had drinks and apps. The spinach artichoke dip was good. Just wish there was more dip for the chips they gave us. The fries were amazing! Service was great at the bar. The sit down service was a little slow.

Yelp
Restaurant is to be avoided. Waitress took 15 to arrive to our table then served us tiny glasses without coming back for a refill for another 20. Luckily the bartender was very attentive, and refilled for us. Food arrived and she left without asking anything, so I had to hunt her down to request the basics (silverware, napkins, etc). Food portion per price was embarrassing. Putting was fun albeit quick and crowded so added a star there.

Yelp
The mini golf was great! It gets busy on weekends, and we got behind a large group that held up others. You're supposed to stop on 6 tries, and some folks were hitting the ball until they got it in the hole. Score is kept on tablets mounted on poles at each hole, and automatically advance to the next hole for you. Atmosphere was great, and the decor was different from any other mini golf we had done before. The air could have been cooler, as several people were starting to sweat on the course, but overall, was a great time. Will definitely go back again, in cooler clothing.

Yelp
Booked an event for our team and didn't know what to expect, but we all had a blast! We had our own private area and munched on chicken sliders, bruschetta, and chips and dip. We also ordered cocktails and they arrived very quickly. We were even able to order drinks while playing miniature golf which was nice. Our group of 24 played and there is a bit of a wait between each hole. It would've been nice if they had different colored balls so it doesn't get confusing on whose ball was whose. They also ran out of clubs at one point for our party. However, we had a great time, though I wish we could've collected our team scores somehow at the end.

Yelp
Had a great time here. The staff were nice and friendly and the vibes were immaculate. It's a bit dark inside though. They had unlimited games until 5pm on a Saturday for only $15 so that was nice to have. The holes aren't too challenging but they're good enough to make you think a bit. We had a nice time here.

Yelp
Puttery was fun! We were able to play golf on both sides and the theme was very adventurous. Our sever was pretty nice she was very helpful and the food was great. Our drinks were my favorite. This is a great date night spot or outing with friends.

Yelp
Service was very slow and not friendly. From the time I walked in til I left, it was NOT like how it used to be here. The only staff that were friendly were Unique and the bartender in the Library bar. I changed my mind getting food because of the attitudes of the staff.

Yelp
Great option for drinks and appetizers! This place has entertainment, fun atmosphere, perfect for a night out with friends or happy hour with co workers. Service was great.

Yelp
Great atmosphere & fun; enjoy with the kids during the day & adults in the evening! Both courses are fun.

Abbie P.

Yelp
Your experience will include 15 minutes of mini golf and frustration. Drinks were good, but they were necessary to not lose your mind over the lack of personal space on the nine holes.

Yelp
I came in here with a buddy one fine Saturday afternoon looking to kill sometime. There's not a ton of mini golf options in the area, and I've been here for an after work cocktail event before so I figured I'd come in and work on my short game again. As a place to play some mini golf I think it's great. They have two 9 hole courses and you can either choose one or pay for unlimited to play both. There were some challenging holes and the theme and decor were well thought out . I would certainly return to play golf. I don't think I would return to eat however. I grabbed a seat at the bar and the bartender was very pleasant and the service was good. I found the food to be overpriced for what was offered. I went with the chicken sandwich and while it wasn't terrible or anything, it was just a little bland. There are a lot of food options all around so I think going forward I would choose to eat before or after somewhere else and then come play.

Yelp
Had such a great experience here with my boyfriend, such a fun time and a great way to have a good time but still save money for date nights (with reduced prices before 5pm).

Yelp
Very cool indoor putt putt course concept. Staff was friendly, courses were short and compact. Not a lot of room for the continous flow of patrons. Needs a bit more AC cooling too. The digital score keeping was awesome, A+ design. The 2 selfie stations on each course were very cool, should add 1-2 more per course with cool backgrounds. Will return again on a week day, hopefully less busy. PS bar delivery service to course would be nice or a bar inside course.

Yelp
The site does not work, calling in has them tell you that all bookings are made on the site and that they cant take card over the phone. They suggest you should walk in and, having tried this twice, they will tell you that you should have booked and then turn you away. The site does not work, ive tried two different emails, resetting my password, my phone and both of my laptops. I've been there at 2PM on a Friday and another time over the weekend and both times been turned away. I tried booking every time I went and every time, the site says "Something went wrong. Reservation could not be completed. This last time I am trying so hard to get a booking or get some help so I dont go again and get turned away again. Nope, cant take card over the phone and they cant help you with the site either. Dont bother trying to go, plenty of other things to do in Charlotte. Enjoy those that you can reach, book at or can help you when you call them...

Yelp
Such a fun experience!! Definitely got crazy busy for an 8:45PM reservation on a Saturday night. The course was very fun and creative, but some holes were more difficult than others so there was a back-up with a line at a few places. The bartenders were very nice. I do wish the drinks were cleaned up at the stations throughout the course. There was no room to place drinks while putting if it wasn't cleared.

Yelp
Always a great time from food, drinks, and entertainment! It's clean and music is always on point. Take pictures using their gif camera! Adds to the fun!

Yelp
Chef Shantal, the host, and the servers were perfection for the NYE Caribbean 5 course dinner with 5 paired cocktails. Dinner was served in the elegant and beautiful patio bar room. The mini golf is always the best in fun themed courses designed like the Clue game mansion rooms with a delicious full menu and fabulous cocktails. Wonderful place for family, couples, friends and corporate team building.

Yelp
This place was pretty fun, I haven't played put put golf in a long time. This place is definitely for adults as it's a bar in each section so you can drink and play golf. The only downside in my opinion it was very hot inside maybe due to the amount of people inside. Other than that it was nice, I'll try it out again.

Yelp
The service was amazing the food was good. The serving size was decent but the food wasn't really noteworthy the service was tho Breonte was attentive honest and made great suggestions for us will definitely return! The gold was fun without being too difficult

Yelp
Good was great! Drinks were delicious! Great atmosphere and fun time! Went for bachelorette party and would def go again! The courses were fun and interactive!

Yelp
It's fine for what it is which is some standard bar food where you can also play some putt-putt to kill the time. The food was decent but I wouldn't go out of the way just to eat there. It's the combo of the food, drink and comradery with friends/coworkers, etc. that makes it a worthwhile spot. On the food side I will say the slice of pizza I tried was above average while the rest of the things were good but again, not destination worthy. Service was OK but not top shelf and that's fine. It's an indoor putting place with food and drink, not the Ritz. The golf was fun although some of the holes we tried were just stupid in terms of the difficulty level. Some tricks are cute, some are dumb if they lead to your entire group of 15 having to take the max score on one hole. End of the day, I'd recommend Puttery as a fun destination for groups looking to do something different.

Jacob L.

Yelp
Went for the Father's Day special which was advertised as adults only and a no wait golf experience with a tee time. The food was horrible at 40$ a plate came unseasoned, and not even hot room temp is being generous. The golf courses were absolutely atrocious waited 30+ minutes to play the first hole and waited 15+ mins to play every hole after. Was flooded with kids just wacking the shit out of everything and was most definitely not worth the 300$
google avatar

Nikka L.

Yelp
super fun and cool concept. staff really friendly and informative also. courses are small but are themed in interesting ways. a lot of the holes are actually designed pretty difficult! definitely a fun place to drink with a small group of friends or a date.

Yelp
I had the best time at puttery with my girlfriends. The atmosphere was fun and we loved the vibe. The DJ brought good music after they dimmed the lights. Our server, Deonte was amazing! He took very good care of us and we loved him! I had the potato flatuas and the honey hot pizza and both were really good. I would definitely come back. Be prepared to wait for the mini golf. Everyone gets 6 chances at a hole so you're waiting your turn at the hole when the group in front of you finishes theirs. Overall, great time and great atmosphere!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing space! We hosted a 40-person event here and the team was very responsive. The dips were good, mocktails were really good. Games were a fun, immersive experience. It was just really loud in the event space so some had a hard time hearing each other. It was also mentioned several times in our event reviews. Other than that, everything was great!

Yelp
Went here last night and had a fun time. I'll start with the good things about it. It's very beautiful, the colors and ambiance and the comfy chairs all feel like a luxury experience. The mini golf is a lot of fun and I love the electronic scoring. It's very easy to put your score in. They had a fun little picture taking thing where you could make a boomerang, gif, or take a picture and that was very fun. The drinks are pretty good as well. Overall it was a fun experience. Also you are able to walk in and play mini golf without a reservation which is what we did. The not so good things, we were waiting on family when we arrived and thought it would be nice to grab a seat and have a drink. Well in the chairs we sat at there was no waiter that came over to help us. I guess it's certain chairs where the waiter will help you. Which is really confusing. But I decided to walk up to the bar and get a drink. Well it took about 20 minutes to get a drink there. There were only two bartenders for such a busy Saturday night. Idk if the bartenders are slow or it's just that they were so busy. But the fact that it took so long did not start the night off great. The mini golf course is also very small and basic compared to other ones I've been to in other cities. Overall despite the terrible service, I would consider coming back here again and playing the other course. But there are a few cooler places with a similar vibe in other parts of NC that are not too far away.

Sherri G.

Yelp
This has got to be the coolest spot. We got there after the kitchen closed but they were still able to get us a round and the drinks were great. That was the coolest set up, great spot for a first date or a night out with friends.

Yelp
Spent an afternoon over the holiday season here and had a great time! The puttery has two different courses, each with a distinct theme. We did the all day pass which meant we could golf as much as we wanted and do both courses which I would recommend--especially when it only cost $21 per person compared to $18 for one round. We were going to start off with some drinks and then go golf, but since we arrived just as they opened for the day and there was only one bartender working, the wait was a bit longer than I wanted. So instead we just went ahead and jumped into a round first and got drinks in between rounds. The courses are cute and a lot of fun. They are very short and fast courses, though, so you won't actually spend TOO much time at a single one. Some of the holes are set up almost TOO difficultly to where almost no one gets it before 6, but overall still good. Drinks were expensive, but good and a nice part of the experience. We enjoyed ours in the vast creative seating areas they have and loved it. We loved our time there and hope a Puttery will be opened in the metro Atlanta area soon so we can go again.
google avatar

Elissa D.

Yelp
Super cute mini golf place. 2 different courses to choose from and electronic score cards make it easy to calculate who wins at the end. Great for groups or even a date night. I didn't get food or drinks so cannot comment personally on that but my friends seemed to enjoy their craft cocktails. Would definitely come back and visit if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Had a freaking blast! Came here in November. Enjoyed the heck out of this place! We do not drink so we didn't order drinks. This was adult putt putt without the kids! Sydney was super sweet and kind, we enjoyed talking to her. She gave us great recommendations on food to try around the city. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
What a great little gem in Southend and perfect for a work event. We planned a group event for a Wednesday which was perfect as we had an area to ourselves and a nice buffet of snacks and drinks later out for us. The team had a ball playing the courses which were super fun and unique. But the most memorable part of the evening was how Terry took care of the group. He was so attentive and informative. Thanks Terry and Megan for helping me plan this event. My team loved it!
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
Came for put put and helps ourselves to some drinks and small bites before we played. I ordered 2 margaritas and they were amazing, highly recommend. Other people in our party ordered a watermelon margarita, Augusta sunset, and Old Fashioned. Everyone was pleased by their drinks from Adam! His service was amazing. For food, we got wings, the lamb burgers, and birria fries. No one had a bad thing to say about the food and we were pleasantly surprised with the wings. I don't think you could go wrong with their food menu. It's a great overall vibe and the putt putt really just is the perfect addition. You could come here for a get together for drinks and food or a fun day out during the weekend.
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
First of all, location wise, this is located in southend. Parking is HORRIBLE. They do have a combined parking lot with a taco place next door but very limited parking spaces. You either have to park on the street if you find any available to go to a paid parking lot, which I believe are about 2 in the area that are the closest. I avoid places like these at ALL times bc of their parking, but since it was for a work event, of course, I had to come. The location itself is nice. As soon as you walk in, there is a grand bar with seating options. You can order any kind of cocktails or drinks, and they also have a food menu. Our group was hosted in the "Library," which consisted of about 9 rounds of golf in a library type setting. They also do have a bar within that room, so as you're playing, you can just walk up and grab more drinks instead of having to go all the way in the front. I heard they have other types of themed rooms but was not able to get a peek at those. Overall, it's def a cool concept. Employees were all super nice and efficient. Maybe I will be back to try other rooms if I feel like going through the hassle of finding parking.
google avatar

Ashlee J.

Yelp
The staff were great! The restaurant with a bar is located right at the entrance. You can grab a bite and schedule your play time. It was a little packed as there was a birthday party and a corporate party but that added to the vibes of the crowd, everyone was having fun! They cap you at 6 swings per hole so you don't take all night swinging! It keeps the traffic flowing through the holes. Now the drinks, these bartenders know what they're doing! I don't even think a Moscow mule or rum punch were on the menu, thank you bartenders! There are little tables to place your drinks on as you play. For $22 per person for unlimited golf is a pretty good deal. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
We went on a double date here Saturday afternoon, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Duff was our first point of contact when we entered the establishment and she was a ray of sunshine. I sincerely appreciated her pushing our reservation back a bit as we waited for our friends to arrive. Bu made my first drink, and it was delicious. Adam put in our second round and other food-- he also brought it to us in the lounge area which was nice. Duff also came to check on us when we were lounging and I appreciated her presence and service. The food was good as well, I had the lamb sliders (not pictured I was very hungry) and my husband had the margarita pizza. He is from ny so wasn't super impressed but I thought it was fine (someone that also doesn't really eat pizza). We did the conservatory course which was challenging and fun, I would absolutely return for the library course.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Went to golf on a hot day, $15pp for 9 holes. Didn't need to reserve a slot ahead of time just did walk in. Definitely would not go here if you just wanted to mini golf. We did the Conservatory side (there is also the Library). Not sure who designed the course but they must have never been mini golfing before. The last hole took all 4 people in our group the max 6 attempts to try and get it up the poorly designed hill with it bouncing out of the course 50% of the time. Two of the holes are built up on hills and many of the holes have decor items that make it difficult to putt. The golf part of this golf bar stinks. Would not return here to mini golf but the bar area did look very nice to get a drink and hang out
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
Had so much fun at the Puttery! However docking it 2 stars because of the drinks and service. We made a reservation and still had to wait about 30-45 min...what's the point of a reservation? My husband got a Moscow mule and it was watered down and so bad that he didn't even finish it (and it was pricey...). We'd recommend this place for the putt putt but I'd go somewhere else for food and drinks.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
The food, drinks and vibes were excellent! Best of all was the staff! We had the pleasure of having Semaj as our server for our event for a family gathering and to celebrate my husbands birthday and he was so fun and went above and beyond to make sure that not only everything went well but that we had a great time! He was so fun and and energetic!

Kristina N.

Yelp
The putting courses are fun. Food is good, but not as good as the price reflects. Neither are the drinks. The staff was all friendly, but why is the guy running food to tables shirtless? Every time he walked by our table we got wafted with body odor. I'd probably go back for the putting, but I'll pass on the meal next time.
google avatar

Yelp
I waffled between a 2 and 3 here for review. For sure not enough staff. Empty glasses everywhere. Really slow bar service. Group ahead of us had 8 people and took so long - they just played and didn't keep score. But it made the room move slow.
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Love not having to carry a score card! Your ball is automatically tracking your score as you play through the course. Great place for food and drinks with an incredible atmosphere. Service is top notch. 21 and older only.
google avatar

Joshua T.

Yelp
Definitely a fun change of pace for a weekend night out! There are two courses to choose from - The Library and The Conservatory. We chose The Conservatory which was fun and posed quite a challenge! The holes are very unique in nature. The course was backed up and a bit crowded in regards to navigating through each hole. They have a DJ who played good music it was just too loud to try and hear or converse with one another. The drinks were mediocre, nothing crazy here but not terrible either. We did not try the food so I cannot comment on that. Overall, fun to check out but we did not stay and hang out at the bar or get food after we played.
google avatar

Cathy A.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Charlotte! The most surprising thing about it was how upscale and fresh the food was! Our server was awesome and really friendly. Despite the fact that they were short-staffed, we didn't have to wait long for our food. I wish they had more than 2 courses and this place was a bit larger, but overall, I absolutely loved it and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
This is a great place for chilling by yourself, meeting up with friends or having date night. Good food, great energy, very spacious, plenty of parking, good prices and fun for ALL! Come check it out for yourself.

Great time! I would recommend getting the unlimited golf pass so if you are waiting with a group, you can play at anytime. It was crowded but fun. Staff was great!!
