PX Tacos (Formerly Pintxo's Tacos)

The food is delicious. We tried birria, steak nachos, and elote. It was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sauce and toppings on the nachos were so fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was clean and upbeat. There is a few seats inside and a large patio in the front and back. This reminded me of the birria I had in Mexico City. My favorite taco shop thus far in NW DC.

I went here after work as I heard good things about it. The cashier was helpful and explaining the menu and gave me recommendations with no issues. Those tacos hit the spot! I definitely didn't expect all of the extra toppings but I have no complaints. Would definitely go back!

We have the highest praise of PX tacos. The Al pastor tacos were the best I’ve had in DC. Devoured so quickly I didn’t get a picture. Really generous with the portion of meat. The hot sauces were all homemade, delicious and had great heat. Steak burrito was super flavorful as well. We finished with the tres leches cake which was so delicious. The best part was also the owners/staff who gave us an extra dessert on the house before we left. 10 out of 10 recommend and will be back to try their birria!

I recently visited the new PX Tacos, a family-owned taco shop with a friend who’s a regular, and I can see why he raves about it! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel like part of the family. The service was attentive but not overwhelming, giving us the perfect balance of relaxation and friendliness. We started with the queso, and let me just say—it was delicious! Creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned, it set the tone for what was to be an incredible meal. But the real star of the show was the corn. I’ve had my fair share of Mexican street corn, but this was next-level. Sweet, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of cheese and spices, it was truly to die for. The tacos themselves were packed with flavor, with fresh, quality ingredients that clearly reflected the love and care this family pours into their food. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer like me, this spot has a way of making you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. I can’t wait for my next visit! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food in a warm, friendly setting.

i love having this lil Mexican spot around the corner! everything i have tried is wonderful. can’t get enough! i plan to order one of their big platters for a lil party and im sure my friends will love it too

My first time here and I'm impressed. The Birria was amazing i'd say top 3 I've had in NW as far as flavor and portion go. Only complain is that it didn't come with Consomé and that the Tres leches was overpriced in my opinion for how small the slice was but I'll be back to try something else on the menu.

Beautiful Beer Garden in the back. Just walk thru the store, past the grill and it’s a quiet, beautifully decorated sitting area under a large shade tree. The tacos 🌮 are small but the burritos 🌯 are big and cooked perfectly. We’re vegetarian and found the perfectly cooked vegetables to be better than the chain stores. They have a good selection of canned/bottled beers 🍺 too! Prices are reasonable! Enjoy!!

This place is legitimately amazing! It has a cute authentic look but that is just because it's completely authentic! Not fronting at all! I'd like to think that I am somewhat of a taco connoisseur but honestly that's irrelevant. The birria tacos are hands down one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten and I don't mean just for tacos. I mean one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten in my entire life. Sadly I live far away from this oasis of joy and yummyness but if I have to come back to this horrible town at least I will have this to look forward to. Those tacos almost make DC worth the visit. The two women behind the counter could not have been kinder and more helpful. This lovely place will go down in my list of legendary eatery's!

The images are from two different days... maybe one week from each other. Y'all I think I found the BEST tacos in DC. The food is SOO good that I had to come back a few days later and bring my sister. The restaurant is small but there is seating for about 8 people. The customer service was really good both times I went. The staff was pretty helpful when recommending options and very patient and kind. I would always come back here. The Carne Asada (steak) tacos and the El pastor is AMAZING! The burritos are BIG and so good as well. My friend has the fish tacos and she loved them. 20/10 I do recommend!

Pintxo's was such a delightful discovery! I was hanging at my friend's house with a few others when she thought it would be a good idea to order some food. She mentioned there was a great taco spot just down the street that got the best Yelp reviews so I was immediately intrigued. Since we were ordering for a group, we mostly ordered items easy to share - tacos, nachos and a quesadilla. I wasn't too hungry, but once I realized that the food looked really good (and the order pretty plentiful) I went ahead and tried a fish taco which was absolutely delicious! It's hard to eat, socialize and pay close attention while posting Jenga but it was the flavorful droppings, and delicious fried fish that really did it for me. The nachos were not really my thing but the order had to be modified in a way to serve the group in ways that would not be my ideal order. But even still, everything was really good and I heard no complaints from a fairly particular group. Also, the women working that night were so sweet and warm which is always another good sign. I look forward to ordering from here again in the future!

Absolutely fantastic taquería. The place, kitchen and atmosphere reminded me of all the taquerías I used to go in Mexico City. The seasoning is incredible and they do actually add pineapple to the tacos al Pastor. Big kudos also for the Tinga and steak tacos. Also their Tres Leches is highly recommended for a very sweet dessert. Long live PX Tacos.

I was told to try the birria tacos here by a few HU students. The staff were kind and friendly. The restaurant was clean inside and outside. But the chicken birria tacos were underwhelming. EVERYTHING lacked flavor. I was literally just eating wet tasteless tacos. I will be returning to give them another try to see if they were just having a bad day.

It's good, simple and plain. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The color scheme is welcoming and vibrant. The staff is friendly and helpful. This place is deceptively spacious. I didn't realize there was an entire backyard patio and it took me three visits to pay attention to the fact that there's also a front patio that I bypass while being laser focused on hot fresh tacos. I'm adding this place to my neighborhood hangout spots with friends. I'm an avid people watcher so I'll be taking full advantage of these spaces this autumn as it seems the weather will never get cold again. Back to the food--I'm a simple guy; the el pastor and carné asada tacos are my favorite: simple yet delicious.

The el pastor tacos were my favorite! I recommend getting this for sure and the green chile sauce.

This place was really delicious. A bit chaotic but worth the chaos. I went on a Friday night and ordered the family platter (order of 6 tacos, chips and salsa, churros) and ordered the corn. The tacos came out first, the churros next, then the chips and salsa, and finally the corn. The order of the food could've been better. Despite that, I will definitely be frequenting this restaurant

I just moved around here like a day or two ago and I've already been here three times. This shit is fire and authentic as hell and they will not see the last of me. Honored that this is a neighborhood shop for me & I will be happy to order through their app. They have been single-handedly bringing me through this move in process & I'm planning to be a regular. Staff is super sweet and attentive.

Odered birria quesadilla & the assorted birria meal. both quesadillas were very greasy and soggy and not even remotely crispy. Also they forgot to include the churros. Wont be ordering from them ever again. Tasted nasty.

This taco shop is such a great addition to the neighborhood! Chips are perfectly crispy and salty, guacamole tastes so fresh, and the birria tacos were so tasty and filling. Plus they've got a cute back patio (limited indoor seating though).

Great new taco spot in Petworth! Great family-owned-service, with some of the best tacos I've had in DC. Hat tip the shredded pork, and carne asada. Definitely worth your try.

I've had trouble finding a great taco spot in the area. I had high hopes when this opened. I thought the tacos were average for the city. The people who work there are very kind and hard-working.

Simple great tacos. Nothing more, nothing less. Tucked away and not really noticed easily but great food. Might be a little overpriced, but quality is great.

Ordered via uber eats. I got the carne asada burrito bowl and chips with salsa. The salsa had a taste like vinegar. I'm not sure if it was supposed to taste like that or if it was old. After the taste test, I decided not to eat more of it. The chips were bland. My burrito bowl was just ok. Overall, I was underwhelmed and threw most of everything away.

Delicious Al pastor tacos, good bowls, breakfast tacos are great, cheap breakfast bagels and sandwiches--good outdoor seating and friendly staff. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.

I haven't been here often, so this isn't a complete review. The lamb barbacoa tacos are amazing. Breakfast burrito, chips, and guacamole were great too. I'm not sure what prices are like elsewhere in town, so $5 per taco may be pricey. But it's worth it from my experience so far.

This place is simply the best!! I come in multiple times a week and am always greeted with warmth and friendliness. The food is excellent and always fresh. I have had everything from the chicken burrito, to the carne asada tacos to the Birria and would highly recommend all of it.

A great new place in the neighbourhood! I've had both the shrimp and the al pastor tacos, and both were outstanding. They also have delicious and reasonably priced breakfast bagels (try the chorizo and egg one for just $7).

Been here a few times now. Owners and staff alike have been friendly each time. Food has been great, haven't really had a disappointment yet. Have had tinga, asada, and fish tacos. Tried a pintxo - good but prefer the tortillas. The lamb barbacoa quesadilla was incredible.

food is so good. Outside back patio is sooo cute. breakfast tacos, carne asadas tacos, pupusas everything is delicious and the staff is so kind and nice.

Staff were super friendly and included a couple of free items with our meal. Would love to give 5 stars but unfortunately, the tacos did not hit the mark. Pork tasted old and really weird. Unfortunately ended up throwing away

This place is awesome! Pumped to have it in the neighborhood. First time I went, had a huge order for 6 people - they churned it out quick and it was very tasty. Nice outdoor seating options too in front and back. Will definitely be back!
