Tucson’s Best Restaurants and Bars: Where to Eat in the Old Pueblo | Eater Phoenix

"One of Tucson’s lesser-known treasures, PY Steakhouse is located at the southwestern edge of town at Casino Del Sol. While steak is in the name, the restaurant truly stands out with its sophisticated use of seasonal local ingredients with components such as their own beef garum and Whiskey Del Bac barrel-aged white balsamic." - Jackie Tran

First off, I highly recommend making a reservation. We made one weeks in advance and had no wait when we arrived. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are absolutely divine. We had the 40oz porterhouse, which was cooked to perfection. For sides, I HIGHLY recommend the deep fried brussles and mashed potatoes. Our server recommended them, and I am glad I took his advice. Our server was Steven. He was absolutely amazing. We were there celebrating our anniversary and he actually took the time to ask us what we feel makes a marriage last. He was so very kind, professional, caring, and informative about the menu. We wanted for nothing in his care. Overall, this place was an incredible experience.

Google
The absolute best service by Jenih and Steve.. the food is over the top and it was my birthday and we could not have picked a better place. Who would have thought that a steakhouse in a casino one of the best if not the best restaurants in Tucson. Have you ever seen somebody just bring out a dessert menu for your birthday as a freebie with a variety of desserts that you would never see any restaurant.

Wonderful experience. Originally we were going to dine at Fiesta Buffet. Once they quoted over $80 for two people with a military discount we opted to go elsewhere (it was seafood buffet). We decided on steak so went to PY Steakhouse. Though we had no reservations, after answering several questions; name, phone number, possible allergies, we wondered if we should brace ourselves for bloodwork or a credit check. We were then shown to our table. From then on it was pampering and sometimes a little show. We had no less than five people bring our main course out. Before that, someone brought a sprig of rosemary, lit it on fire then doused in butter (delicious). A waiter brought a fancy box of steak knives. I choose one with a pearl handle. Although our 43rd anniversary was last week, our waiter allowed/comped us a dessert of our choosing. We went with triple sorbet (two apple-cider and one pomegranate) with chocolate on the plate wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The steaks were extremely tender and flavorful. Despite trying to be cheapskates with the buffet, PY Steakhouse was so attentive and delicious it was well worth the cost. We’ve decided to celebrate our future anniversaries at PY. Thank you so very much!

Google
Absolutely amazing experience. From the palate cleanser (whipped goat cheese with a chutney), to the clarified butter with rosemary leaves and the salt from the Sea of Cortez, this is a top choice for steakhouses. We were floored, honestly, to find such a great place in a casino resort in Tucson. The filet was cooked perfectly and adding the clarified butter and salt on top just took it up to another level. The diver scallops were melt in your mouth and the sticky butter toffee dessert had a hint of gingerbread mixed with the light toffee crunch. We have never had such a great meal and we travel all over the country. We also had the pleasure of meeting with chef Eliana Hernandez. We highly recommend visiting PY Steakhouse. (As a bonus, the hotel grounds of Casino Del Sol are very nice including the Sky hotel rooms). PS- the casino is nonsmoking with designated smoking areas - thank you!

4.5 Scott was amazing! Helped make us feel special for our 5th Anniversary! We were open to trying anything and let him help put together a dinner that suited us both. I need small portions so he recommended sharing dishes. What a great idea! Thank you for everything! We will be back!

Google
We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and made a reservation for dinner. Wonderful atmosphere, staff, and service. They made us feel very special. The food from beginning to end was delicious. Mouthwatering, ans savory. They served our dessert on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" on it along with a card signed by the staff. We will definitely return.

Google
As an anniversary celebration, we couldn't have been more pleased. The service was unparalleled. Amanda, Katrina and Steven were the best. They were there when we needed them and they didn't hover. The food, starting with the appetizer....all the way through the dessert, was unbelievably delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Google
First of all the service was great! Victor and Angel made us feel good! The steaks were a “B”. The Calamari was good with a good presentation! The leafy vegetable side dish should be deleted from the menu! (Unacceptable presentation and did not pair with anything)The asparagus was okay! The whipped potatoes were good! The bone presentation was useless, unless you let us simmer in Augus and a dark gravy with onions to dip the meat in. The food was elevated to 4 stars because of the service! Oh yea, the bread was very good!

Yelp
We were at the casino for our second annual coin show and we all agreed that we need to try PY Steakhouse. An elegant dining style restaurant that treats you the same no matter if you are dressed to the nines or wearing a t-shirt and shorts. The 14 ounce ribeye with Canadian rub was cooked to a perfect medium rare and melted like butter. Kudos to a steak house that has steak knives that, get this, actually cut steak. The side were mac and cheese, a nice cheesy dish, candied Brussels sprouts, and Arizona mushrooms all complimented the steak nicely. The only downside, cost. There are just as nice and less expensive restaurants closer to town than having to drive across the world to get a good steak. With that said, if you are in or near the Casino Del Sol and have the means, I would definitely give PY Steakhouse a go.

Yelp
We've dined at PY Steakhouse several times over the years and have always considered it a special place for memorable evenings. Naturally, when it came time to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, we didn't hesitate to make a reservation here. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special and joyful evening turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience that left us feeling incredibly let down. We arrived on time for our 6:30 PM reservation and were promptly seated. The evening started on the right foot--our server was friendly, the atmosphere was elegant as always, and our appetizer came out quickly and was enjoyable. We were optimistic and excited to celebrate. However, everything went downhill after the appetizer. We waited well over an hour--nearly 70 minutes--without receiving our entrées, with no communication or updates from our server or any staff. During that time, our drinks were never refilled, and no one came to check on us or offer so much as a glass of water. For a fine-dining restaurant that prides itself on attentive service, this was completely unacceptable. When the entrées finally arrived, the disappointment deepened. I ordered the chicken, which came out visibly overcooked on the outside yet still bloody in the center. Not only was this off-putting, it was unsafe. My husband ordered the braised short rib, which has been a favorite of his in the past, but what arrived was dry, bland, and tough--completely lacking in flavor or texture. It was as if the dish had been sitting too long and had lost any of the rich, slow-cooked quality it's supposed to have. We expected some acknowledgment or response from the staff, but no one asked how our food was, no manager came by, and not a single attempt was made to apologize or make things right. At no point did anyone seem aware--or care--that this was an anniversary dinner or that we were clearly dissatisfied. What makes this all the more disappointing is that PY is not a cheap restaurant. The pricing reflects what should be a premium experience--high-quality food, attentive service, and professionalism. On this visit, we received none of that. The service was inattentive, the wait time was unreasonable, and the food quality was shockingly poor. The value just did not match the price. We left feeling not just disappointed, but actually hurt. We had chosen PY Steakhouse because we trusted it to help us create another beautiful memory. Instead, we spent our anniversary waiting, ignored, and served undercooked and poorly prepared meals. We've had positive experiences here in the past, and we truly hope this was an anomaly. But it's hard to ignore how completely the ball was dropped on what should have been a wonderful evening. It takes a lot for us to leave a one-star review, but this experience unfortunately earned it.

Yelp
Warm beef tallow oil and fresh herbs syringed herbs at table side to release flavors then immersed into the tallow oil is just one of the many attention to detail, impeccable service, and flavor experienced at dinner. Between the appetizers, fried calamari & shishitos and braised pork belly, the calamari was my favorite- but I would order both again. The calamari portion size could be a meal on its own. The ribeye was cooked as ordered and tender. The potato and celeriac pave was amazing and the leftovers taste just as good the next day. Excellent cocktail, spirits and wine selections. Service was attentive, friendly and focused of providing a great experience. Cozy and elegant ambiance. It is located inside a casino. Complimentary valet parking and a parking garage is available. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Service was AMAZING! Brayson was phenomenal. I would give him 10 stars if I could! However.... I have worked in restaurants for years and the chicken looked undercooked. After this was brought to attention the manager they said it was the brining. However the manager never even came by to talk to us about it. I even sent the pictures to chefs I have worked with and they agreed it was undercooked. They offered an anniversary dessert but it never came and we waited 20 minutes. The hosts and the server and server assistant were amazing though!

Yelp
We decided to come here for Christmas Eve dinner, wanting to dress up and enjoy a meal in a beautiful setting. Cocktails: Tyme Well Spent and The Last Word were excellent first drinks; I enjoyed them both, though Tyme Well Spent was slightly sweeter. PY Paloma was smoky, and he liked it. Whoopsie Daisy was balanced--not too sweet or overpowering--and pretty good. Pisco Sour was overly sweet, with too much pineapple. Honey Pot was just okay--also sweet, but not as cloying as the Pisco Sour. Food: The amuse-bouche was a good start. The oysters were fantastic--fresh with no bad aftertaste. I loved the cute and fun ghost pepper, habanero, and raspberry mignonette droppers, which weren't overly spicy. Even the ghost pepper was manageable (said my dinner companion). The beef tartare was good, though parts of it were inedible due to too much tendon. The Filet Mignon was ordered medium rare but came out medium well and was soggy, as if it had been sitting in water. The texture and flavor were awful. The duck had an incredible sauce, but the meat itself had an odd aftertaste. The lobster mashed potatoes were good, as was the side of beets. While the setting was beautiful and a few dishes stood out, the overall experience was mixed, especially with the inconsistencies in the main courses.

Yelp
We had excellent service. The mushroom pasta was very good and our drinks were awesome. The ambience was calming amidst the lights and sounds of the casino. I highly recommend this for a nice dinner at the casino that is worth the cost.

Yelp
This is a fantastic upscale restaurant! The staff really take care of you, and they go the extra mile to make sure that you have an enjoyable and memorable experience. I even got a little history on the meaning of the restaurant name. The PY stands for Pascua Yaqui for the Native American tribe. I was told that "Pascua" is Spanish for Easter, so they call themselves the "Easter people." Fun little tid bit! But the waiters come around with freshly sliced limes and cucumbers to add to your water. They start you off with rolls of warm sourdough bread with a honey butter spread and a small shot-sized amount of amuse bouche. The amuse bouche was light and creamy with a cucumber-like freshness. I had the wagyu beef tartare as a starter and the jumbo diver scallops for my main course. Before my food was brought out, the waiter brought over some melted clarified butter and torched some fresh rosemary that he cut into the butter, for use as a light topping to the seafood dish. I'd never seen that before! The scallops were great, and it's definitely a meal I would order again. I finished off with the vanilla bean crème brûlée, which I had no complaints about. This was a lovely restaurant with lovely service and food!

Yelp
Great food! Great service! It's nestled inside casino del sol, and a great dinner spot! They have a sommelier that has always given us fantastic wine recommendations, we always take his reccs and save them to buy when we get home. The food is not only good, but also an experience. They offer this rosemary oil that is infused by burning the rosemary in the table . They have had great specials , as well. If there is a wait or you can't get in, you can order their menu from the bar, fyi. And if you are a gambler at the casino and have a players card, you can use your comps/points there. It is not cheap, the sides are ala carte, but it's fair for the quality and service.

I love the upscale ambience that they provide. It's really a special place in Tucson, arizona

Yelp
While staying at Casino Del Sol for a conference, we tried PY Steakhouse for dinner. Despite being near a loud area, the restaurant isn't very noisy. The ambiance is very nice - low lights, linen tablecloths, and comfy booths. We were greeted promptly and offered a choice of drink. Then came fresh bread and gruyère breadsticks. The bread had a crusty outside and soft inside that you could slather with butter and salt. The breadsticks had a nice crisp to them and the cheese flavor was definitely noticeable. We were given an amuse bouche of raw tuna on a crisp cracker. I'm not a huge raw tuna fan, but tried a bite and the flavor was mild and fresh. We selected the NY strip, ribeye special, with brussel sprouts and splitting a baked potato. Shortly before our meal arrived, someone came to char a sprig of rosemary and snip little bits into a melted ramekin of butter and beef tallow. Our steaks arrived cooked correctly with a nice sear. We both enjoyed the flavor of the beef and tried some of the infused butter. The staff sliced the potato in half serving each of us one half in a dish with our own plate of toppings - that was very nice of them. I love a good baked potato and this one was cooked nicely and made better with butter and sour cream. The sprouts were roasted beautifully and had no bitterness. They were served with chunks of Tasso ham, roasted pecans in a not overly sweet glaze. It was definitely a hit. We were brought a small caramel truffle each and it was a delicious piece of candy. The chocolate had a nice snap and the caramel was thin and had the right balance of sweet and salt. I would have bought an entire box. We were stuffed but ordered a chocolate lava cake to go. It was packed up along with our leftovers and our server brought over a small coffee cake as an extra treat for the next morning. The ambiance was lovely, the food was tasty and as expected from a nice steakhouse, but the service was just wonderful. All of the staff were friendly, efficient, and wanted to make sure we had a fabulous meal.

Yelp
I love this restaurant, is intimate and so romantic inside . Is located inside casino del sol . Is a perfect restaurant for date night and any celebration. All the hostesses and waiters are super professional and attentive . I have been to this place a couple times already , and it never disappoints . This time we got their special cut of steak I can't remember the name but it was the best steak I've had in a while . And we got some potatoes and brussel sprouts to go with it and both sides were 10/10 . I also tried one of their mocktails which was so delicious.

Yelp
What a special experience!!!! We stayed at the Casino for 2 nights last week, and was so glad to discover this top notch establishment. It was so great, that we wound up eating here both nights that we were there. The adjoining bar is also wonderful. They make craft cocktails and the service is second to none. We had 9:30 reservations both nights, and although we were the last people in the restaurant, they never made us feel rushed in any way at all. We had the same two servers, and their warm attention to detail made them feel more like friends than staff. Every item we enjoyed was decadent. Even the bread and butter was created with love and attention. The prime rib our first night was perfect (and rare) which is not common at the end of the evening. The second night we enjoyed a Bone in Ribeye that was "off the charts" along with a baked potato (they gave us two). But one of the highlights was the way that they prepare drawn butter with rosemary charred at the table. Best of all... was the over the top service. I will be eternally grateful to the team at PY for making the first night unforgettable, and somehow surpassing it on our second. THANK YOU!!! Now...I am on a diet for the next month!!!!!!!

Yelp
Our server and the chef were INCREDIBLE! Two of our party of 8 are vegan. You'd have never known as we had even "special somethings" made just for us. Our server was very attentive and kind, and the food (per even the non-vegans) was spectacular! I will return!

Yelp
Service was excellent. Beyond excellent- I have no complaints. The dining room for 11 was fine; I appreciate that it was off the main dining room and quiet. Star of the night: Steak tartare- exceptional. Second place: espresso martini and the French 75. Honorable mention: cabbage with gochujang and Mac n cheese. Both deserve recognition and if I came back, would order again. Oh and the garlic butter was amazing. The sad parts: Calamari was awful. Chewy and flavorless. The shishito peppers would have been better served alone. Crab cakes. Not nearly enough aioli (or whatever the small swirl of sauce was) and zero acid for balance. The crab cake itself was well prepared but had nothing to complement it. I have never seen calamari or crab cakes served without a lemon wedge. The steak lacked salt or any type of good sear/crust which was disappointing. It was prepared at the right temp and tender so points for that. Diver scallop plate lacked focus and the pork belly was unremarkable. I don't understand the pomegranate seeds either- not sure they added to the plate with the vegetable. For 1290, I was completely underwhelmed. I'm positive I would never come back. I think if you're looking for a good steak go to Sullivan's and if you're looking for fine dining, go to Bata. Just not quite fine dining honestly.

Yelp
If there was a 4.5 option I'd pick that for my experience here. First time coming here for a family birthday dinner and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised how much me and my boyfriend enjoyed this place! We only really had very minimal concerns with our experiences but not bad enough to make me have a negative impression. The location actually feels a little small on the inside, which really gives a nice intimate feeling and very elegant inside. For sure a nicer place that it feels appropriate to dress nicer to. The bread/breadsticks were amazing. It came with a palate cleanser bite of goat cheese that was great. Our family love oysters so 3 of us got an order and they were great! They had a cautious approach to a habanero sauce they make in house that was very nice added to the oysters. Appetizers were so yummy, and our entrees where a great size. I ordered duck and my boyfriend got steak. This place, like other high end steakhouses don't often come with sides with the steak order so consider a side order. Now up until now, we had a great experience. We all ordered dessert and my boyfriend got the chocolate lava cake, and sadly, as nice and light as the cake was, after two attempted orders of the cake, the lava drip never happened. We had the initial order, then they re-made it. We even had our waitress watch as we tried to cut the second cake and even she was surprised. We are unsure why this never panned out but overall, the cake was very good on its own. Our waitress was very nice but sometimes it felt she wasn't really hearing what we told her or maybe her attention was in multiple places but I had to re-say orders to clarify to her. She also didn't come back to our tables often between service and I had to flag others down to clear plates and empty drinks. We will come back. But we won't order the lava cake again. We both agree you are better off with the chilis one if you have the craving!

Yelp
So my friends and I come every year for a friends birthday and every single time it's been a great experience and food has been fantastic. This time was the most mediocre experience I've ever had for a $300+ bill. Our server was not the best, he announced the specials soups of the day and then left. Upon coming back with drinks I asked if he had taken starter or appetizer orders, he said yes but had only asked one end of the table and not the rest. After getting everyone's starters and appetizers out to the table our food took over an hour to come to the table. Our reservation was set for 8PM and we did not leave till 10:40. The steak I ordered had so much of fat on it and I had to cut it all off, the sea salt crusted potato I ordered came out just plain. They then brought out "the works" for the potato 15 minutes later. The butter was cold and as was the potato at this point. Cheese or butter didn't melt at all so that was disappointing as well. After coming here for years and telling everyone I know that this is my favorite steak house I was throughly disappointed with the service and the food quality I got.

Yelp
The servers were confused on the menu with terrible communication on every detail unless they were trying to upsell on the back end. .. The dirty martini was bad and took 20 min,it was a vermouth martini and pre stuffed crappy old olives they couldn't even stuff their own olives. The water tasted like a sewer, now I see why they bring lemon, it almost helped. Prime rib my ass! I ordered MR it was raw and grainy with extra chew involved, nothing prime about it. 2 stars for not screwing up the wedge salad for my GF and the booth was spacious.

Yelp
Was not sure what to expect, but what we got was a truly 5 star experience at a 3 star cost. The Casino Del Sol Resort happens to be quite close to my home, but I had never eaten there before. Ambiance/cleanliness- Upon entering the PY Steakhouse bar area from the casino, one is struck by a breathtaking scene, classy and all hospitality...clean and elevated. The dining room is well lit, warm and inviting. 5 stars Service-We were assisted by Amanda and Reyna. Amanda greeted us and asked if we had any special requests or food preferences, starting with a choice of 4 types of water. Reyna shared some small bits of touching personal information. Anything we needed for our meal was taken care of professionally and without intrusion on the experience. 5 stars Food-an amuse bouche of raspberry lassi was brought out that was light, tasty and refreshing. cheese grissini and some excellent rolls with seasoned butter next. We ordered the Fried Calamari + Shishitos which included pickled peppers, gochujang aioli, herbs and sweet chiltepin vinaigrette. Very crisp, cooked perfectly, balanced flavors. Decided to do the 5 course "Trust Me" Chef's Tasting. 1st course, Jumbo shrimp with spicy cocktail sauce, oyster and morsel of king crab, each in own sauce. BIG, bold flavors, perfect size, perfect flavor. Next, a seared sea scallop in a risotto, topped with crispy, house cured pork belly...all tastes were in harmony, absolutely stellar sear on the scallop. Third course was a sliced peach and torn plum salad with endive and black volcana salted burrata that was hearty without being heavy and just a flavor explosion. The main was a rubbed 14 oz ribeye that was MASTERFULLY prepared with a small amount of whipped Yukon gold potatoes. Last was a chocolate souffle, just stellar. Chef de Cuisine Eliana Hernandez visited with us at the end of the meal and I was delighted to shake her hand and share my joy with the meal. Have eaten at some of the most renowned restaurants in the world and have never had a better experience than on Thursday night, 8/3/2023 with the top quality, delicious food produced at the hands of Chef Eliana...5 stars

Yelp
AMAZING!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Our servers Amanda and Steven went above and beyond and provided us with excellent customer service. Compliments to the chef for all of the amazing dishes. Definitely worth it!

Yelp
Best food experience Ever! Taste, service was amazing. Lost our reservation and they tripped all over us to make it up. It was so unnecessary but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Manager Bill is the nicest guy ever and they roast rosemary at your table, I'm so stealing this idea! We can't wait to return and try other entrees. Thank you for making my Birthday memorable and fun, the cake and card was beautiful! Thank you!

Yelp
Incredible and attentive service. Waiters and all staff were knowledgeable about the menu, kind, and professional. The food was delicious, I enjoyed everything I ordered. The extra touches like the open in sample of crouton with goat cheese and jam, as well as the house bread, and the coconut truffle at the end were such special touches and absolutely delicious. The price for what they give you is incredibly reasonable. I felt completely spoiled by the experience.

Yelp
A Saturday night dinner for two. First off the service was top notch Scott and Kevin both awesome to have help us. Bread and water service all good. Wagyu beef tartare appetizer was made table side we enjoyed the start. The Braised Beef Shank not as pleasing as we hoped, cooked to falling apart great yet the flavor of over powering rendered beef fat left us not enjoying it. The 8oz filet was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned and tasty. The add on Large Scallops were not to par tonight they carried that taste of ammonia not noticed until on the second one. I'd give PY a second chance but unfortunately last night missed all the boxes. I did tell service about the scallops and they said they would have the chef look into it, 20% off ticket due to that issue.

Yelp
Falling in love with Casino Del Sol resort casino! The rooms are great! The Resort pool area is very Vegas like. Quiet, peaceful , comfy chairs, shhh....the round cabanas are for any guest. All the food is great! The Sol brew barista are amazing, English muffin sandwich is big, the food at the Oasis pool bar is delicious! We have had the focaccia pepperoni flat bread pizza, light crisp crust and yummy! We also have had the BLT sandwich. The thin crinkle cut fries were fantastic. They have pool side service which is a nice amenity. PY Steak house, well, all I can say is go!!! The truffled prime rib eye is a nice portion and probably one of my all time favorite apps anywhere! The bread and specialty butter was a nice start. We got the rib eye. Cooked perfect . Selena was very attentive and knowledgeable! The amuse changes nightly.

Yelp

Yelp
It's been a while since we've been back. The service was just ok. My steak was supposed to be medium and the last 5 bites were medium well. Overall the steak and potato were really good. My wife said her crab leg and potato were delicious. Only 4 stars because of my steak being a little over done on part and the service just ok. It seemed that maybe they were a little shorthanded, possibly because of Covid? Again everybody's friendly and we will definitely go back.

Yelp
Had steak tar-tar and it was amazing. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. It was my birthday and I had my first and last Mescal Mule (think that's how you spell it in a copper cup?) I didn't like it. Small portions and to expensive but it was my choice because it was my birthday.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
We didn't have reservations but we were offered seats near the bar. Service here is way better than inside the dining room. We had summer salad, ribeye, and calamari. The food tasted great this time. No hiccups except the bone marrow on the side didn't have salt.
google avatar

Brena E.

Yelp
I had dinner at the bar but really didn't like my food. I generally love corn chowder, but this did not taste good at all to me. I thought maybe it had beans in it, but I think maybe that was actually the corn. The bartenders brought me bread service which was nice. They made a drink for someone else that was wrong so they split it up between a few people at the other end of the bar. That was a little awkward when it was only for a few. I would be willing to give it a try again for the steak.

Jen L.

Yelp
Ate here on 2/16/24 to celebrate my birthday. The service and ambiance were great, but for the price, the quality of the food left a lot to be desired My husband ordered the truffled prime ribeye to start and I got the calamari. These were great and the portions were plentiful. We both ordered the 14 oz. ribeye, mine medium, his medium rare. When they brought it out, my hubby asked "are you sure this is the medium rare steak" and they said yes. Well, that was not true and by the time we realized it, we were already into them. This was a lesser problem than the quality of both steaks. Both were super fatty and grisel-y. We know fat is flavor and expected some, but half of both steaks were inedible. My husband ordered the potato pave gratin as his side and that was incredibly good. I got the loaded baked potato which was meh. The butter was so hard it never melted and the skin was too tough to eat. I left most of it. The bill was $180 before tip and included a soft drink and two non-alcoholic beers. It was disappointing. The hunt for another steakhouse is on.

Yelp
My husband and I frequent steakhouses all over the world and came to this one on a chill weds night dressed one step above pajamas. We were greeted by a very professional hostess, who asked questions about dietary preferences and allergies, At first, this annoyed me a little bit as I just wanted another steak dinner at what I thought was going to be a run of the mill casino restaurant. I later realized that this place is top notch and they take great care in everything they do!! As the time progressed, we were impressed at how well the servers appreciated both the flavors and atmosphere that go into fine dining. Everything from the freshly baked sourdough rolls, to the lavender and honey butter, to the smoked Rosemary tallowed, clairified butter was superb. They offer an incredible deal on prime rib with vegetables and mash Wednesday nights, the portion was generous, the au jus was flavorful, and it came with both fresh and creamy horseradish. Dessert didn't disappoint either - the lavender crème brûlée was served with a thick burnt sugar crust that contrasted beautifully with the lightness of the crème brûlée we also lived that the lavender essence was not overpowering. Loved this place, will definitely return!!

Yelp
First visit and I would say there are a few wow factor things that set them above others. Loved the rosemary butter presentation. The sides served in cast iron so your second tasting was as hot as the first. The experience and service are what you would expect and they execute it well. The steak was cooked to perfection and side were shareable and delicious. The win here above all else is the outstanding service and attention to detail accomplished by great food. Well worth a second visit to see it replicated.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was so delicious and the presentation was beautiful. As soon as you enter the restaurant you know that it will be an extraordinary dining experience. The ambiance is both welcoming and pleasant. You deserve it to yourself to dine here and be spoiled.

Yelp
PY restaurant has the best service, the best food, and the best atmosphere for a casino restaurant. Five stars in our book. Celebrate each occasion at PY restaurant.

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience. Before you even enter the restaurant, you can sense that it will be a very special experience. We made a reservation and were warmly greeted and seated right on time. The ambiance is just lovely and the wait staff is very attentive. Our dinner selections arrived with a pleasing presentation. The food was prepared to perfection. Just so delicious. I look forward to my next visit again soon. You deserve to treat yourself to dinner at PY Steakhouse.

Yelp
Amazing dinner to celebrate starting college. Drinks were to die for, salad was fresh and crisp. Steak cooked to perfection, amazing salt selection -- crab legs with melted drawn butter. To die for. Melt in your mouth. Au gratin and hoar cheese macaroni was the best we've had. Desserts speak for themselves. Bonus. Bone marrow was provided and it was the best we've ever had. Can not recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Great service! We went to the spa, then walked over to PY for dinner. Small intimate restaurant with good food. I had thee 7oz filet mignon and it came with the bone marrow on the sIde. I had the Brussel sprouts and they were delicious and cooked in butter scotch. My friend was doing the keto diet and the fish special came on a bed of rice. No problem! They changed it out for Sautéd kale. I had the acc and cheese and it was cheesy and delicious. It had some kind of steak meat inside.

Yelp
outstanding food and service. Had the prime rib special recommended by Amanda the server and it was outstanding. Her service was also outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
This was the single best meal I've ever had. The hostess, busser (black hair gentleman) were especially amazing. Dinner was prime rib, mashed potatoes and clarified butter. Will be back again!

Yelp
We were told this was one of the better restaurants in Tucson, so we were looking forward to a good meal. We eat out quite a bit and definitely like nice steak restaurants. When you walk up it looks nice enough, but then things start to unravel. From the start I was apprehensive when the host came over and had LONG LONG LONG nails. I mean like 3 inches long. It was totally off putting. Usually when you go to nicer restaurants they are sticklers about details. Having this as their first impression was concerning. We were quickly seated in a nice booth. I will say I enjoyed the decor and restaurant itself. Our server assistant came over to give us water and returned with bread, which was tasty, and an amuse-bouche that amounts to a shot of a banana liquid. It was very ho-hum. It seemed like they were REALLY TRYING to be upscale, but also too trendy. Our server came to ask about drinks. I quickly ordered a martini, but boyfriend was still looking, so she asked I'd she could get mine. This was great, but she didn't clarify if I wanted vodka or gin, so she brought gin. Since I felt bad for not clarifying myself I drank it, but felt like that was a missed detail, since I know it's a common mistake. Boyfriend got some specialty drink. We ordered dinner once we finally got drinks. I do want to say that their bar is slow and it wasn't that busy. I ordered a salad then we ordered entrees. We both got steaks. Salad was fine but a little lacking in any toppings so I kinda just had a big piece of iceberg. I will also point out that they put their salads in a very large, high sided bowl. I'm sure they're trying to look trendy, but it's a nightmare as a diner. I kept having to fish my silverware out of the bowl since it kept sliding off the edge. Not really comfortable when you're trying to have a nice meal. And once again, the girl who ran my salad had long, overly decorated nails. It was very off putting. We got our steaks and I was happy to see a nice bone marrow on our plates. That was a nice touch. We also ordered Brussels Sprouts, which were honestly too sweet. The steaks weren't bad, but they weren't seasoned. The chef was clearly just depending on the fact that they were nice cuts. A little salt and pepper would have been a nice touch, but we liked them. It was all just ok, though. I know we ordered dessert and something with matcha, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was if that tells you anything. We settled up and headed home. As we were walking to the car we both commented that it was ok, but probably no reason to drive all the way down there again. I have to say our server was very nice and so was the server assistant. We weren't mad, but we did both think him addressing us both as Mr and Mrs with boyfriend's last name was awkward. They should probably be a little careful with things like that. So there you have it. It's ok. If you want proper steps of service, probably not gonna get it here. It wasn't bad, but we probably won't go back

Yelp
We made reservations for this steakhouse for a Friday evening. The ambiance is very upscale, servers treat you like royalty. We ordered the beef tartare as our appetizer- it was delicious! I'm very picky about tartare, and I was hesitant to order- but very glad I did. My husband and I shared the 14oz Ribeye, cooked medium rare, and a baked potato. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the flavor was out of this world. Very upscale and pricey, but we expected it to be. Portions are huge so if you aren't a big eater you can probably share. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
first time here and it was just okay. my boo took me for any early birthday celebration. we had a wonderful bottle of wine, and then it took an unusual amount of time to get our food. the fries were cold and meh, but the beef was great. our waiter was pretty slow with us and didn't take multiple hints that we were celebrating a birthday. when he asked if we saved room for dessert, I said I was allergic to almonds. he then brought us a dish that had almonds, which was then replaced with the trio sorbet which was not touched because the flavors were terrible. no birthday celebration with dessert.

Yelp
We made reservations for my Mom's birthday dinner. Arrived a little early and was seated straight away. Our waiter Luciano and Kaylee were fantastic! If he wasn't checking on us, she was there to make sure we were OK and filling our drinks. Mom wanted shrimp scampi, but it is only offered as an add-on to a steak so he suggested the shrimp pasta. We ordered steaks. Mom said the shrimp pasta was delicious and was happy he suggested it. Our steaks cut like butter and sides were very good with no complaints whatsoever. When we were done, Kaylee was quick to clear the table and Luciano brought dessert menus telling us that since it was her birthday she received one for free. So we ended up sharing because we were all too full for our own dessert. The chocolate praline was so yummy!! It's quite a drive from the East side of town but well worth it for the dinner!

Yelp
We came to PY for The first time and did not expect to have such a incredible dining experience. The staff was friendly and the food was incredible! From the beginning, the staff was on point, water (cucumber or citrus), drinks etc! We ordered a ribeye steak that rivaled some of the best steakhouses we have been to. Also, the sides and deserts were fabulous! Kudos to the management, hosts, wait staff and chefs... solid performance!

Yelp
We recently visited PY Steakhouse this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary and found it to be a great way to cap our celebration for the evening. The steakhouse is located inside Casino del Sol and it is a much more upscale and inviting environment than I anticipated it would be, given the ambiance of some other local casino restaurants. The restaurant doesn't seat too many people and offers a private dining area, as well. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they have limited seating and have made an effort to space out the tables. This actually makes the dining experience feel more intimate since you don't have to listen to loud conversations only 2 feet away. The service was outstanding and PY employs the tag-team service method, so if you have a concern or need to order another drink, you regularly have someone coming by to check on you. The actual food itself was plated beautifully, the portions were generous, and the offerings were seasonably appropriate. PY puts in a lot of effort in offering more locally sourced ingredients and preparing them in a way that feels more true to Tucson. We ended up ordering squash toast, a NY strip, the filet mignon, 3 sides (baby carrots, mac and cheese, and truffle fries), and the chai creme brulee. My husband also ordered foie gras with his steak and instead of it being the more traditional pate, it was a grilled slice of the liver. It was interesting, but blended quite well with the rest of the meal. The only negative aspect of the meal was the chai creme brulee was a little bitter, but that's certainly not the worst thing that could've happened with an extravagant meal. Overall, I would return to PY and I think it is best enjoyed with loved ones and close friends. Enjoy.

Yelp
First of all The food was very delicious. The wait staff very efficient, friendly and attentive, 5 star service.Potatoe Leek Soup was over the top, best we've ever tasted. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly tasted great. One piece had a lot of gristle and blood veins, not to mention that both pieces were 1/4 fat. Who eates all that fat, for the price of the fat it should be edible! The problem is: The chefs DO NOT practice safe and hygienic cooking behavior. I informed the Manager one of the cooks wore his mask under his chin. Sneezing, wiping his nose, hair and face over and over without ever washing his hands!!! In fact. The manager saw this going on. Nothing was enforced, even tho the Manager was standing in front of this cook over and over.. WTF. This restaurant is a dangerous place to be if you don't want to get Covid.
