Pyramid Lake

really amazing place to visit, unfortunately the access to the the pyramid and the stone mother are currently temporarily closed to the public as of 2/2026 because some idiotic morons decided to vandalize the ancient petroglyphs, and thus ruined it for everyone else to enjoy, so unfortunately you won't be able to get close enough for good photos unless you have telescopic lenses...

One of my favorite lakes in the world. The stark contrast between deep blue water and dry tan desert mountains that fully surround the entire lake. Remember to buy your beach/camp/boat ramp access in advance since there are limited passes allocated per day. One of the reasons I really enjoy this lake. It’s clean and you can spend all day on the water without seeing anyone else. Pay attention to the winds. The last time we went waterskiing, the winds picked up and we were on the other end of the lake. The waves were up to 3 feet high. It’s a lake that commands respect.

One of my fav lakes of all time! Very peaceful and a great place to camp, fish or just spend sometime with nature. If you go west coming in from Reno be prepared. About 12 miles in the road turns into dirt. Would recommend SUV or truck at that point. Lake is huge with 360 views. Some activities require a permit. But enjoy, be responsible and keep it clean!

If you look, you'll find "your" peace. I've been coming to this spot for over 40 years. For me, it's my spiritual release. There's something that draws me here(maybe it's the fish lol) but I always feel good when I'm here. Maybe it's just me, but I've found my spot. Lucky me

My wife and her sister decided to go on a road trip, destination Pyramid Lake, we had never been there and wanted to see what it had to offer. First off, the lake is beautiful and huge. The Lake is located east of Reno/Sparks, Nevada on the Paiute Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation. There is primitive camping all along the lake shore and an RV park at the end of the paved road. I would advise that if you're going to camp or fish or any outdoor activities, to talk to the Tribal Police to find out what the fees and regulations are.

Lake is beautiful this time of year especially with all the rain. There is camping, boating, fishing, and hiking. Great place to bring the family for the day or camping for the weekend. Be sure you get your permits from the reservation.lots of placed to pull over and look.

Great beach ⛱🥰❤ beautiful water coloring and lots of space for everyone to spread out. Spent some time in the water and took our dog out for the first time and she had lots of fun as well. Even though it was memorial day, it wasn't too busy.

Amazing High Desert Lake...Incredibly beautiful and wild scenery...Gorgeous water for swimming and boating...Great boat ramps and beaches...Easy going locals who are friendly...Fantastic getaway! A shimmering gem!
