I recently visited a Korean BBQ spot near North Point Mall, having previously enjoyed Q Steakhouse in Cumming. Since I loved the atmosphere and food there, I decided to give this place a try.
Walking in, I noticed that the ambiance here is quieter and more modern compared to the Cumming location. However, the air was noticeably smokier, likely due to the exhaust system not running at full capacity. After a while, it got a bit heavy and gave me a headache, which was a downside. That said, the service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and familiar, as I recognized some staff members from the other location.
When it came to the food, there were a few differences between this spot and the Cumming steakhouse. The marinated Q steak and spicy shrimp were fantastic here, but I preferred the filet mignon, Hawaiian bulgogi, and dumplings from the other location. The yum yum sauce at Cumming was also slightly better—this one leaned a bit too much toward a mayo-heavy flavor.
A standout feature at this location is the sushi, which sets it apart. The sushi was fresh and clean-tasting—definitely a step above what you'd find at a Chinese buffet. If you've ever compared sushi from a Japanese steakhouse to a buffet, you know the difference in quality. I liked the rotating conveyor system, which lets you grab a few pieces at a time, preventing overordering and waste.
We also tried the corn cheese and a vanilla cream dish, but those didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Everything else, however, was spot-on, making for a great meal overall.
I’d say the Cumming location feels more like an authentic Korean BBQ experience, while this spot leans toward a more mainstream, trendy vibe. That’s not a bad thing at all—I’ll definitely be coming back—but I do wish for a few tweaks. If you’re looking for a good spot for a date or a family gathering, this place is a great choice. The two-hour time limit is more than enough to enjoy your meal, and the staff keeps up well with drink and meat orders. The conveyor belt delivery system for the meat is a fun touch.
One final plus: Unlike in Cumming, the K-pop music here wasn’t blasting at full volume, making for a more relaxed dining experience.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just be prepared for the smoky air and a slightly different vibe from the Cumming location.
