One of the best restaurants we've been to in Portland! Right down the street from the police station so super safe! Nice and calm atmosphere. Everything we ordered just tasted AMAZING and our bartender/waitress was super friendly. 10/10!

Google
We had an amazing dining expirence. Every bite was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. This was an indulgence and and extravagance but we'll worth while. The staff was tentative and helpful. The drinks were spot on. If you have the chance you don't want to miss this place.

Google
The Bacon wrapped dates are the best I've ever eaten. The smoky bacon makes it pop in your mouth!! Everything we ate was really good. Fridays only they have there special chocolate souffle! It's a must try. Delicious!!! Wonderful service, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with soft, warm lighting and comfortable seating, nicely casual. I will ho back when I'm in Portland again.

Google
Absolutely stunning experience. Lovely atmosphere, attentive and enthusiastic staff that really knew the menu, creative bartender who could create delightful cocktails with very vague suggestions of what we might like, all coupled with some of the most delicious food I've had in Portland. The wild mushroom bruschetta was an almost religious experience that I'd have noted as the star of the show for the night... until I tasted the duck. Seriously... don't miss the duck. I can't wait to come back and see what they have next time. 10/10 recommend!

Google
Solid 4 star restaurant in the heart of downtown PDX. Reservations are a must during busy hours as this place really picks up. I’d skip the apps as they were lack luster, and stick to the main course and dessert. The banana pudding was seriously the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. So much flaky, rich, creamy goodness. Service was very typical Portland ~ indifferent. It’s a quaint, cozy spot with killer street views from the corner locale. Skip the drip coffee if you’re needing an evening pick me up to make it to all the shows and theaters nearby, way too weak, but the presentation is stellar.

Google
Absolutely delicious food and incredible staff. We did a tasting menu and everyone was so knowledgeable about the food being served. The pork chop was insanely good.

Google
The food here was fantastic! We started with the bacon wrapped dates - conveniently 3 to a stick. We were upsold to add one more. There was an off menu Pozole we split as another appetizer. It had tons of flavor. I ordered the pork chop, and my wife ordered the osso bucco. Both were fantastic. Hers was a deep flavor, and mine was a bit lighter & sweeter. The sauce on the pork chop was fantastic! Our server was, honestly, annoying. Maybe her personality didn't jive with us. A boisterous family of 7 was seated beside us and she seemed to get along much better with them. The problem was she spent so much time chatting with them when we were waiting for refills, and our check. They were so loud. The food was worth it. Recommended for that alone.

Google
Delicious dinner with excellent service. Great atmosphere for dinner, felt so relaxed and taken care of. The duck breast and thigh special was incredible, crispy skin and tender. Perfectly prepared. Will be going again!

Yelp
Q is a fantastic place for upscale cuisine in a refined yet comfortable setting. I had the chance to eat here twice on my visit to Portland, and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. This is the kind of place where the servers know the menu intimately enough to make informed suggestions on wine pairings, which I really appreciated. If you're dining alone, the chef's counter is a perfect spot to enjoy your meal and watch it be prepared! I've never seen such an organized kitchen, and it was a treat to watch the head chef call out orders, like a stage manager calling a show. It was fascinating! The combination of flavors here is very unique and inventive-- pairing fish with cucumbers, apples, coconut rice, and candied cashews-- and the ingredients are absolutely top notch. Don't miss a meal at Q whether you're local or visiting Portland!

Yelp
Overall a good dinner visiting Q but nothing that made the meal "great" from my perspective. The atmosphere is lively but old fashioned. Lots of rich woods and light sconces that definitely give it a warm vibe but something more what you'd expect to take your parents to. Layout is interesting with a dining area in the back, and overall can be a bit noisy just as something to consider. Food was decent but not mind blowing. Would up having the white bean soup, empanada, French onion soup, and the Osso bucco. The Osso was probably my favorite dish of the night but the appetizers definitely weren't huge standouts and lacked in flavor and some textures. It all tasted decent don't get me wrong but for the price I might have expected something a bit more elevated. Service was good and attentive with waters being refilled consistently and generally fast seating. There's also a coat check which is appreciated. Was happy overall. All in all it's a good meal if you need to go somewhere in the area (which we did for a show) but not a place I'd rush back to or make a specific trip for.

Yelp
The food was good I suppose. Prices were high as to be expected. For me, a restaurant worth trying once but no reason to go again. That's a good summary of my whole review if u don't want to read more, but i will talk about the dishes we ordered. - Wild Mushroom Bruschetta ($18): piled high w/ a delicious variety of mushrooms & the pine nuts added great flavor as well as texture. What stood out to me about this was it was 2 larger and softer pieces of bread it was served on instead of smaller crispier pieces but very good and worth the $. - Seafood Stew ($38): tasted good but not worth paying for I think. Nothing stood out about it except fresh parsley was good. - Venison special ($65ish): if you don't ask the price they won't tell you just fyi haha we found out at the end. Very expensive but also a ton of delicious, perfectly cooked, juicy venison steak. If ur a steak person I would highly recommend. Easily shared for 2. What i think made this dish great tho was the succotash (i believe that's the word) of mashed taters or something and a bunch of veggies like caramelized beets and like 5 to 7 other delicious things in there I have no idea what they were.

Yelp
Came here for the bar and was pleasantly surprised with how friendly the bartenders were. We are visiting from another state and they were so kind to give us suggestions of things to do around the city. It is a more high end restaurant so it was pretty classy inside. We ordered some drinks and thought it was alright and pretty unique.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Friday. We had a reservation so I am not sure how long the wait time usually is, but it did get pretty packed as the lunch hour went on. Our server (I forgot his name) was really nice and attentive. Food came out fairly quickly despite the lunch rush. Food was also pretty good. Everything was good, no complaints.
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed a lunch with girlfriends. The place is always busy but service is always great. I ordered the Moroccan Lamb Meatballs. A simply dish with great flavors.

Yelp
Portland business lunch venues have been limited ever since I moved here decades ago. The VQ stood out as one of the best, and now does Q. The house made Gnocchi, one of their marquee items, was excellent. The soft potato pillows are larger than what you might be accustomed to, and this makes a difference regarding its texture. The tender pork ragu makes an excellent complimment. Eying the different entrees around the table, everything looked scrumptious (especially the kabab.) The hyped strawberry non-alcoholic concoction underwhelmed, but maybe just not my thing. Service was pleasant and fast. A great Downtown spot.

Robin Q.

Yelp
Service was very good. Osso buco was rich. Came to have the Veritable Quandry chocolate souffle...but NO COCOLATE SOUFFLE EXCEPT FRIDAYS. Big disappointment. Nothing I saw on website suggested that limitation... Or the fact that you could pre-order it when making a reservation, which we would have if we'd known...hard to overcome.

Yelp
Just updating my comment. I had a better experience this time . The Osso Bucco was really good and desserts was pretty good except too small. The only thing that was ok was the Duck crackling boa. Are server August was great and place nothing change so still cozy.

Ross A.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for dinner and it did not disappoint. Duck confit egg roll was really good but a touch soggy on the bottom. I had the Venison special which was outstanding. One of the top two Venison dishes i have had in a restaurant period. My wife had the seafood fettuccine and it was excellent as well. Shared a crazy good banana based dessert to finish it off. Service was attentive throughout and made the experience enjoyable. As mentioned in other posts they are busy and it gets a little loud inside.

Yelp
I like Q,  no real complaints, but it's like one of the only mildly nice places in its immediate vicinity (look I love luclac but for a more work oriented lunch Q is more accessible, reservable, and up scale for a work setting). Because it's one of the only work-appropriate places in its immediate vicinity it's incredibly packed during lunch. I wouldn't mind that but it can be hard to hear the conversation at your own table. Their non-alcoholic drink menu is so fun though, I have so far gotten the shrub, orchards of the caribbean, and the matcha mocktail. All fantastic and if your work is paying I would highly recommend. Not pictured here, their bacon wrapped dates are of course to die for. I've had their burger and it was honestly mid, their lunch special can be hit or miss but it's mildly annoying to basically have to pay extra to get a protein added. The roasted vege pasta a few weeks back was fine but not overly flavorful. In contrast, the ravioli with a more tomatoey sauce recently was very good. Overall a good place to eat, however at this point I may have been a few times too many. Randomly, the main issue I have with Q is that the fries are below average at best. I come for crunchy and salty and your fries are soggy and bland.

Yelp
I reserved this place the day of for the 4th of July, and we arrived a little early, but they were able to seat us. First, seating is common as it is in many Portland restaurants, where there is booth and tables sitting side-by-side. Smallish and quaint I would call Q. Second, the food. I'm a vegetarian so I ordered the asparagus and pistachio salad, which was wonderful. I also had the wild mushroom crepe. The salad was earthy and light, which complemented well with the savory crepe (I used the leftover cheese from the salad to add to the crepe which hit the spot). Overall, a great experience that I would recommend. Well worth the hype, at a very reasonable price ($70 for two people), especially when sharing the entrees between two people.

Yelp
Loved this farm to table restaurant!! We got the bacon wrapped dates, osso bucco, and soufflé (which is only served on Fridays). The food was incredible. Our server was also very good and attentive. We loved the vibe and it was hoppin' so I highly recommend reservations.
google avatar

Yelp
The $32.00 prix fixe was unbelievably delicious. Beyond being tasty, both the salad and the entre were beautiful with a variety of color and textures. The walu fish, that I had not seen on a menu outside of Hawaii was perfect. Go soon before too many people realize how good and reasonable this place it. The bar area is comfortable and service good.

Yelp
A good friend of mine absolutely love this place. She took me here for a birthday dinner treat and my first impression was absolutely amazing. From the ambiance to the food was just incredible. The ambiance was warm, cozy and intimate. Great spot for a date night. We started off with some appetizers: -bacon wrapped dates super delicious (10/10) well balanced flavors n textured between savory, sweetness and crunch -moroccan spiced lamb meatballs was so good as well (9/10) it was soft, tender, moist and flavorful with all the sauces -pumpkin dumplings were really tasty and unique (10/10) for entrees we got: -osso bucco i've never had shank before but it was delicious, very tender and easily pulled apart, the sauce came with it was rich and flavorful. (9/10) it was more more of a heavy side dish for me -farfalle with scallops & dungeons crab was by far my favorite dish of the night! Incredibly flavors, texture, good portion of meat, at the same time light. (11/10) we finished off with warm ginger apple and pear crisps and it was warm, tart, fruity and delightful. (8/10) Everything we had was delicious with great portion! Service was also good and in a timely manner. Their drink was also enjoyable, I got seasonal crush and my friend got pina mule. Not too strong nor light, I believe seasonal crush went well with that we ordered. Definitely would come back and the Q restaurant will be my newly favorite Pdx dining restaurant.

Yelp
Great local spot serving local farm to table food. Great place for unique cocktails. My tip is to make reservations and arrive early!

Yelp
Amazing meal, prompt and friendly service! Super accommodating, and a great vibe! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We dined at Q recently and were VERY satisfied with the dining experience from end to end. Everything we tried from their menu that evening was obviously prepared with care and very nicely presented; the dishes were creative, thoughtful, and satisfying with some intriguing combinations of flavors and textures. Everything we tried was wonderful, but the two dishes that stand out in my mind are the warm baguette (sometimes simple is best) and the Wild Mushroom Arancini (roasted garlic cream, crispy sage, aged balsamic); our cocktails were refreshing and wonderfully well-crafted. Service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming :-) The ambiance is warm and bright, with a very nice bar that features big windows all along its whole length. Prices weren't cheap, but totally justified by the quality of the food and service. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
I stopped by here for an early dinner (around 4-5 pm) and had an amazing time. The interior of the restaurant is a bit small in Downtown Portland, but they definitely make use of their space well. When you dine, you won't feel cramped or too close to other customers and their decor makes for a nice ambiance as you are enjoying your food. My partner and I ordered duck breast, a salad, and a warm baguette. Everything was amazing. The bread was so soft and warm when it came out and both entrees were a great. The duck was so tender and cooked to perfection, while the salad was light and exactly what I wanted. I would love to come here again for a proper dinner and try some of their other highly recommended dishes (mainly the osso bucco haha).
google avatar

Mariko K.

Yelp
Service was excellent, our waitress was very pleasant. Ambiance is fine, but it gets super loud (I felt like I was yelling at my husband). Food was pretty good, bread was fresh, osso buco was tender, veggies in the veggie crepe special were fresh and flavorful, and the tirimisu and my cocktail weren't too sweet (a great thing). We were able to get street parking very close by on a weeknight and we didn't need reservations.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant serving food that is not only inventive and made with fresh farm-to-table ingredients, but which is also both conceived and executed with care and attention to detail. The mixture and balance of ingredients is consistently excellent and the attention to textures is outstanding. We had osso bucco, pork-belly lettuce wraps, another dish which I can't quite remember, a dessert of ice cream and berries on a waffle. We had excellent cocktails, including their bossa nova with cachaca. Everything was perfect. The ambience and decor are very nice, the place being narrow with a bar and one row of tables along the large window. Service is excellent, attentive, and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh boy, this was a good choice. Lovely and unpretentious but amazingly delicious food with terrific service. Went with a large group so got to taste many things and all top notch. The pork chop entree was other worldly.
google avatar

Miki H.

Yelp
We sat at the working station table and we enjoyed watching their live cooking Chef Martines was amazing. Of coursethe foods were amazing. Italian, Mexican-Latin fusion foods.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
This is a family owned restaurant that does an amazing job with food quality and service. We also loved the craft cocktails. The Osso Bucco was my favorite. It's a braised veal shank that was prepared perfectly with a light touch of rosemary, garlic and wine.

Laun C.

Yelp
Osso Buco was top tier and my wife loved her fish dish with Asian salad. Service was great on top of that. We came in with no reservation and the host was able to fit us in. Great food and experience!

Larry W.

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant as the food, ambience and service are exceptional and I highly recommend Q restaurant!
google avatar

Erina K.

Yelp
We celebrated my sisters Birthday here and it was my first time trying this restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was delicious, I got the fettuccine and also tried the steak with corn. I would recommend both! Im not sure if the gentleman was the manager or owner but he went above and beyond and gave our whole table (14 woman) some ice cream of different flavors to try. The ambiance in the restaurant itself is lovely I would definitely come back again!
google avatar

Olie B.

Yelp
One of my all time favorites! The food is always amazing quality. Service is fantastic! We always look forward to coming back.

Yelp
This place is lovely. The service was excellent and I highly recommend the pumpkin ravioli.

Yelp
Q Restaurant is always an excellent dining experience. Their food and staff are incredible and it's so challenging to pick what to eat because everything is delicious! The restaurant is a great location and environment for dining before a show or for any special occasion.

Yelp
Food was amazing, specially the mushroom crepes. Service was ok, a little slow but food was worth it

Yelp
We had an excellent dining experience last night at Q. What made it so great? 1. Friendly staff upon arrival. Seated at a fun table near the Chefs table immediately upon arrival. 2. Lovely wait staff with a particular shout out to Jordan our knowledgeable and classy wait person. 3. Extraordinary choices of dinner selections. I chose the special of grilled pork chops in a sweet and sour coleslaw. Yum! Friend choose a tagliatelle- freshly made pasta and a skirt steak with a great cut of beef. Our salad was a sugar kiss melon with pancetta, basil and candied walnuts. I am attempting to duplicate this at home if I can find the sugarless melons locally. 4. Did I mention the cocktails. Devine! Got out in time to catch the show. Coming here each time I am in Portland. Highly recommend. You need reservations.

Kim O.

Yelp
Q Restaurant turned a bad situation into a great night by taking on a last-minute party of 13. Brianna was fantastic to work with, and the food, service, ambiance...literally everything was perfect and fun. We will be back!

Yelp
We came here for a nice family dinner with our 2 kids, 7 and 9 year old. The food was very European and bland for my taste. I ordered the risotto hoping that it would be full of flavor but to my disappointment it had a more sour taste to the dish, which I was not expecting. My husband ordered a pasta dish which was very bland. When we first arrived they brought over a pack of colored pencils without our asking but I didn't think much of it since some restaurants do this considering because we had the kids with us. However, not until later that I noticed that there was a charge on our receipt for $1.50 for the colored pencils. I was dumbfounded and asked one of the waitresses. She nodded and said that they use the money to donate to a charity. Ugh... we didn't ask for the colored pencils! It's very passive aggressive, considering they stated on their yelp that the restaurant welcomes families. Not true at all in our case. The nice ambiance isn't enough for us to want to come back for another visit.

Yelp
Q Restaurant & Bar provides outstanding food and service. I ordered bacon wrapped dates for my appetizer, Osso Buco for my entree, and piña colada tres leches cake for dessert. Each portion of my meal was exceptional. The Osso Buco the best I've ever had, and the tresleches dessert was unique and very flavorful. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, and my server was amazing, she was timely and attentive to all my dining needs. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will return the next time I'm in Portland.

Yelp
WOW... What an amazing culinary experience stopping in here for lunch was!!! I had heard that the chef here was amazing and found out one day when I came for lunch. I sat at the bar since I didn't make reservations and they were busy. It was tough choosing form the amazing menu, but I opted for the Walu sandwich. They offered Ono for a fish option too, but I chose the Walu, since I'd never had it before. I started with a bean soup, which was outstanding! The fish sandwich was incredible! The slaw really tied it all together and made this Hawaiian sandwich really snap! I saved room for dessert when I learned that they had warm marcona almond cake and I'm thankful I did, as it was outstanding! Overall - I highly suggest this amazing restaurant... it was easily the best I experienced on my trip to Portland!
google avatar

Yelp
Yes yes yes. Our server was amazing what a great spot in Portland. Wonderful menu and chef!

Yelp
It was a beautiful Portland evening so we ate al fresco. Q quickly added another table for our family of three. The food selections, preparation and preparation was on point. The cocktails were fabulous and the service attentive. If you have a chance to dine at Q, GO!
google avatar

Kathleen I.

Yelp
Had a lovely relaxing dinner here on a Saturday evening. The adults enjoyed the seafood stew and gnocchi. Fortunately they also had a burger that was easily modified into a simple cheeseburger to satisfy the teenager. Employees were attentive and considerate.
google avatar

Schelly Y.

Yelp
We had counter seating to watch the magic of the chefs and enjoyed chatting with them. They also gave us a couple random samples of dishes we didn't order that were so good! The octopus was so tender! A little wonderful gem in Portland and worth a visit!
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
While I miss the old VQ, this is still a little oasis in the city for a good drink, delish snacks and friendly service.

Cassandra L.

Yelp
Visited from out of town early last week and wanted to try out this place. Service was not bad but could be elevated. In depth rundown of most of the menu at first but not could be more personal. Food was disappointing. The mixed mushroom crepe was the special of the day and similar mushroom was used on the seared duck entree. Mushroom was way overcooked as in burnt in some. They were dry and a couple pieces of shiitake were even hard. The duck confit dish was just dark overall aesthetically with just a couple of frisée on the top as the ricotta was overly browned. Highlight was the seared duck which was moist and flavorful!
google avatar

Darcey H.

Yelp
Four of us came for a work lunch. It was a real treat! The two of us got their lunch pre fixe menu was a a Chile relleno with a salad and a dessert. One of us got a Hawaiian fish skewer with coconut rice and the other the Bahn mi sandwich. Everyone was so impressed with their meals. Cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The service was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our server. We had a gorgeous bottle of wine and lingered afterwards to finish it. The atmosphere was sophisticated enough to feel like it was something special without being stuffy or intimidating. Truly a gem if you want to do a special meal. And I so appreciated that they were open for lunch.

Yelp
My husband took me here for a date night and it was soooo delicious! We loved every single thing we ordered. Our waitress, Emily, was so kind and knowledgeable about all the food. Ambiance was nice and cozy. Would definitely bring friends or family back here for a special occasion.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I was told to come here for one of the best meals in Portland and it did not disappoint. The staff was incredibly helpful and the food was delightful. Absolutely start with the baguette and trust the bartender with the daily special. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
The best anywhere. If I had one last meal, it would be Q for the Osso Bucco. Every part of every meal is outstanding. The service is amazing. We were met by one of the owners and Chef Anne brought a take home gift to the table. We have gone to Q for our anniversary every year for the last 25 years and we will continue. Thank you
google avatar

Yelp
This place is still a great place for either a business or casual lunch. The service is top-notch and attentive. My friend and I split the Reuben and the turkey avocado & bacon sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious, but I think the turkey one won this time. If you want a little more kick to the meal, make sure to ask for their in-house hot sauce. It's a must try. Overall, this is a great place downtown to visit.

michelle p.

Yelp
Osso Buco and Crispy Chicken Confit were out of this world. Savory, rich, decedent. So glad we landed here for dinner. Would absolutely come back for this food.
google avatar

Craig S.

Yelp
WOW!!! The osso buco was really delicious. So tender it melts in your mouth, really great flavors with an amazing risotto and sauce. I highly recommend it and when you get to the end, the bone marrow is delicious. Enjoy!!!
