Q Restaurant Review - Chinatown - Boston - The Infatuation

"There are a lot of things happening at Q - a full sushi bar, steamer baskets filled with dim sum, and the kitchen also makes a variety of noodle soups. All of those options are fine, but we normally come here for the hot pot. There are a number of broths to choose from - 14 to be exact - but we’re partial to the classic mala and signature Szechuan chili. They’re both spicy and flavorful at the same time. Be sure to order a few plates of the handmade noodles to go along with your choice of sliced meats." - Joel Ang

We weren’t expecting much because of the location but WOW this is one of our new favorite spots! Such great food, cocktails, service, and ambience. They did a great job with decor. Highly recommend the pork shank & the drunken noodles. Amazing old fashioneds but we tried a few different cocktails and loved them all (the Oliver Twist comes on fire & the anise isn’t too strong). Great mixology. Can’t wait to be back! Hopefully there’s a spot since they don’t take reservations.

Google
Q restaurant review***** Excellent service at the bar, great cocktails, and entertaining employees. The pork belly is a definite appetizer order. The Thai chicken with garlic delicious, spicy basil with pork was a big hit with us. The pork fried rice was amazing! Delicate pork with a hint of sweetness. Order the love me martini and you'll thank me 🍜🇻🇳

Google
Amazing martinis! We had a really cute and quaint dinner with awesome service from the bartender and staff and truly some of the best martinis I’ve had. With about 20 martini options on the menu, I will definitely be back to try them all!

Google
What a great addition to Lemont! We have been meaning to come here for a while, and now that we finally have we will be making it a point to come more often! The Qlamari were a delicious starter - very fresh and tender, with two delicious sauces. One was creamy green sauce, tasted like a spicy jalapeno coconut curry, the other was a sweet chili sauce. The entree's were a nice spin on traditional dishes. They had a good depth of flavor and had the traditional flavor while tasting elevated. I have never tried the fried rice noodles , I loved the crunch they added to the Lad Nar. The Pepper steak was delicious too. We are excited to try some more of our traditional thai favorites like drunken noodles, pad woon sen, etc the next time and see what kind of delicious spin they put on them! Also - at first I was surprised that they chose the strip mall on State as their location, but the interior is actually beautiful, cozy, and delightfully understated. I also appreciate that I didn't have to search for parking and I could easily order takeout here as well. Make this your next meal out - you won't be disappointed!!

Google
Went their last night with my family. What a great experience. Staff was very attentive and food was as excellent. Place was also hopping. Will definitely be back. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Lemont!

Google
Saw on TV. Checkplease. Great food and martinis! Lychee martini was the best. You should really like green tea if you try the green tea martini. I was just curious about it and should've gone with a safer bet. The pork shank was awesome. GF got seabass in a sweet spicy curry sauce and that was AMAZING. Avocado appetizers was really good too. And dessert was great.

Google
We walked in and had high expectation. They welcomed us on the front door and had us seated. The interior of the needs a lot of work to feel more confortable and warm. It feels like sitting in an unfinished restaurant. The tables are good. The menu has diversified Asian food. We waited for our order for 20 minutes which is ok. The food tasted fine and was just an average. Just fine but the prices are high for the food quality. The service was great though. 20% service charge was forced to the check. $94 for only fried rices, chicken and noodles.

Google
We had a great experience. The service was excellent and the food was also really tasty. I got the 5 spice pork shank. I do wish it had MORE 5 spice but it was still cooked really well. My wife had the drunken noodle with seafood which was really flavorful! Also got the mayonnaise Egg rolls. I don’t think the name is great but it was delicious!

Yelp
The food was so delicious from Seafood Rolls, Wonton soup, fried rice, and the duck. Great portions all items. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
First time here. First impressions: not the best location (strip mall) but we all said "Wow!" when we came in... Stylish, modern, cool light fixtures, cool art, cool bar in the back. They made great use of the small space. The customer service was awesome and genuine. Shout out to our server, Ellie. She even offered to take a picture of our family! The food was all flavorful and plentiful. Yes, the dishes are costly but I think you get what you pay for. We ordered pork belly and tuna for appetizers. There were 5 of us and we shared. Both excellent. The pork belly was nicely cooked, not chewy. For entrees we ordered: Pork Shank, Honey Chicken, Sesame Duck, and Seafood Lovers. We all had food to take home. No complaints... Other than not having room for dessert (next time). Would definitely recommend for date night or a special occasion.

Yelp
Food was excellent! A hidden gem worth the drive from Chicago. Very extensive menu with so many options i didn't have room in my stomach to try. I will be back!

Yelp
Yall. Don't sleep on this place. The food is not only beautifully presented -- it's outstanding. Service is top-notch and the drinks are unique. We recently moved into the area and will be back.

Yelp
I visited the new Q Restaurant in Lemont with my wife and 8-year-old son and we were all very impressed by the experience. The appetizer menu is huge and we ended up with the Shrimp Rolls which were really great. My wife had the Mojito which had both mint and cucumber and was very refreshing. I went to the Martini menu and tried the Gentlemen's Night which was really solid. For dinner, I went with the Seafood Lover which had scallops, shrimp, crab meat, calamari, and mushrooms in a spicy brandy curry sauce. The presentation was amazing and when you add in the rice, it was enough food for 2 meals. Very highly recommended! My wife had the Drunken Noodle with chicken which was another very large meal that was very tasty. My 8-year-old is very picky and the waitress recommended the Sesame Chicken which he loved! It was a ton of small pieces of tempura chicken in a unique sweet and sour sauce with stir-fried veggies. He really enjoyed it and I snuck some off of his plate and liked it as well. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by this new hidden gem in Lemont. Looking forward to going back soon to explore more of the expansive menu!

Yelp
I had the appetizer of ribs, the meat was super tender but i thought the flavor was lacking. It was 5 ribs , not quite a half rack.(full rack is 13 ribs) Same with the duck dish, duck was fall off the fork tender but i thought was on the boring side. The noodles were crunchy covered in a thin gravy. those two items with hot tea and a 20% tip was 68 dollars. really not cheap at all!

Chris M.

Yelp
Called for a reservation . Response from person who answered: "We no hold table for two!" Click. Wow. If you're rude before I get there, why would I want to give you our business? I read other poor reviews, and Owner's petulant and defensive response to criticism is interesting. No thanks. Plenty of other options in Lemont.

Yelp
Food was good. Drinks were way way over priced Split the pepper steak and that was good for $20. $28 for two mix drinks was over the top Just have a soft drink, eat then move on. Nice addition to Lemont

Yelp
I went here the first week they opened and sat by myself to eat and took food home for my sickly family. The place is small but doesn't feel small when you're in there. The food is fantastic as well as the service. At first i thought it to be a bit too pricey, but the portions they give you are seemingly more than what you're paying for. I plan on going back here for a local date night very soon!

Yelp
I think I have a new favorite restaurant. The space is gorgeous, the owner is wonderful & always positive and involved, and more importantly the food is incredible! So many dishes were to-die-for, and especially the more Vietnamese ones! I can't even suggest one thing to try, because I know anything you try here is going to be packed with flavor from a chef who obviously knows how to cook and season food to perfection. Go. Go and order adventurously and you are sure to love it.

Yelp
My husband and I have been customers of Q for years. Tonight we came with our friends. Appetizers and drinks were good. I ordered catfish curry and I was told it would be deep fried and spicy. I was okay with that. However, I was served charred bites of catfish. Totally inedible. I told the owner. Her response was that I should order the sea bass next time. Not deep fried. I told her that my food was not edible. No response from her. Not concerned. No offer to take my meal off the bill. Really? We will not be coming back. So disappointed in you and your lack of professionalism.

Lynn M.

Yelp
Always delicious food! Excellent service. Charming interior. Great bar and wine choices. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The owner seated me & I asked her for a glass with ice so I could pour my probiotic health drink that I have for dinner and she immediately said you cannot have your own drink brought into the restaurant. She was not apologetic. She was very abrupt and her attitude was such that she didn't give a hoot about whether I wanted to stay or not so I didn't get to experience the food because of the rudeness of the owner. I picked up my health drink and I walked out so for customer service I give her a F failing grade.

Yelp
Everything about this place screams great vibes. Food - exceptional, drinks - world class, service - second to none. If you haven't been, go.

Yelp
BEST mojitos i've ever had! they are super refreshing and the attention to detail is everything. the food is also amazing, you can tell they put quality ingredients into everything they serve. this place is on the smaller side, but the service is top-tier. it may be a bit pricey for some, but it's well worth the price tag for this experience!

Jill Z.

Yelp
The owners are the perfect example of how a family cares and runs a restaurant with genuine respect and integrity. Food is delicious !! Drinks are amazing and the Tai tea is the best I've ever had!! So happy they are in Lemont !! We are lucky to have them here !!

Ed P.

Yelp
Excellent Experience with one exception: Very Pricey, $300+ for (4) people. Delicious food including appetizers, soups, noodle dishes and dessert. Friendly, efficient service Creative cocktails Very small restaurant, but ambiance was nice. Good choice for background music.

Debra K.

Yelp
No place better in the south suburbs with Asian Fusion. Their food is the freshest and the team works together unbelievably. Wish them the best.

Yelp
Is a small restaurant with great decor inside . We went there with my wife Saturday night and were attended right way and given the drinks menus. We ordered a bottle of wine even though the martinis looked appetizing. We ordered the Vietnamese appetizer fish cakes appetizer, my wife had the sea bass and I had the Sesame Duck marinated with cognac sauce. They both were delicious and not too spicy. The service was excellent and answered any questions we had. I plan to return with friends as is not a place you would think you would find in a small town like Lemont.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Excellent Asian food. Recently moved from River North and this met all of the things I'd expect from a quality restaurant. Quality ingredients, prepared with care. Have gone multiple times since we moved into town. I told my wife it deserves a minimum a Bib Gormand from Michelin.

James D.

Yelp
One - the food does not taste good, very bland, lacks taste. The egg rolls were bitter and inedible. Two - there are no prices online. Ordered 3 dishes and egg roll and rice sides. The bill was over $150 for food that would normally cost about $60 at other Thai restaurants in the area. We do not recommend this restaurant - do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Amazing variety of Asian cuisine. Well worth trying, We had our first experience and we we return to try something different.

Michele A.

Yelp
The food is so flavorful and the service is top notch!! This was my second time and it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend!

Joe K.

Yelp
Well my wife and I have been to this restaurant 4 times now and we can't say enough about these two hard working sisters taking advantage of the American Dream! They are very passionate and hard working. We love the food and drinks! After reading all the negative one star reviews, I have come to the conclusion that they are snobbish Democrats that don't have a clue about how much blood sweat and tears go into running a restaurant. IT's sad to read all the bashing. I guess you guys with a low scores just want another free meal. I suggest you just stay home and cook for yourself! However, your probably to lazy to do that.

Giles S.

Yelp
Family owned. Asian fusion. Excellent cuisine. A true treasure of the SW side of Chicago. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Yelp
Wow, Such a disappointing moment! My husband, and daughter who has a disability and has a service dog that helps navigate her through life were looking to celebrate her graduating college walked into Q and were immediately denied service by the wait staff. We waited a moment to talk with the manager only to state she has the right to deny service because the customers may not like the service dog. What?? My daughter stated the ADA code/law and offered to show her, the dogs license only to get shut down and asked to leave. Funny she was there, excited to celebrate and unfortunately left crying. Shame on you Q, they need 0's in the ratings! Thank you Bone Fish for knowing the law along with great service and food

Marija V.

Yelp
The owner greeted us at the door. So pleasant snd helpful. This location is smaller than the Orland location but has a far more comfortable feeling. The recommendations given for dinner were right on. We had a great dinner. Definitely worth checking out!!!!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Definitely have a martini and make sure you order a seafood entrée. They're absolutely incredible.

Yelp
We have loved Q Restaurant for many years. We were SO excited to learn that they had moved to Lemont at the same time we did. I can't even tell you which dish is my favorite because every dish is special. You absolutely cannot go wrong here.

Yelp
Update to my review: regarding "N.R." Nosheen Rathmore's review...my review is real. We had the unfortunate experience of sitting next to you, a table between us, against the windows. We had the 4 top of two adult couples. My friend I was seated with wrote the other review, another non-fake account. You and your wife were facing us, 2 young daughter with their backs to us were well behaved. Your 2 year old was seated on the end of your table for 2 seconds until she was let go down to walk around. She was still whining, even though released from the shackles of a chair. I watched your wife attempting to keep her quiet the entire time, only to fail, while you were talking to her like nothing was going on. Never once did you do anything to control your daughter. We were there, trust me. Just because you love your kids doesn't mean everyone else does. In this instance, no one like'd or appreciated your 2 year old, and her behavior, except you. I was so happy and relieved when you packed up and left, I said to my friends, good! Now we can enjoy our dinner! As soon as your family left, the place was at peace. Other than the giant mess of food around your table I watched the bus boy clean up. Yes, that happened too. Just do everyone a favor and go to an actual "family" restaurant next time or get a sitter for the 2 year old. In case you don't know what that is, it's a restaurant that will offer a kids menus. Q does not. That would be a giant clue. When you go out, you are not at your kitchen table where anything goes and the volume can be at 10. You are in public disturbing others. Please think about all of this next time you go out to eat.

Foodie J.

Yelp
Probably the best asian restaurants in the area and a welcome enhancement to Lemont! Very addictive flavors and worth the price. Fantastic service and very friendly!

Judy O.

Yelp
I absolutely love the pad siew with chicken. Service is wonderful, cocktails are delicious.

Joe S.

Yelp

Yelp
This is the first review I've ever written but I feel it's well deserved. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food, drinks and service have ALWAYS been to the highest standard. My only regret is not posting this sooner. Iggy V

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants ... I just wished I lived closer so I could go here more often!

Yelp
We love this place! AMAZING food quality & cocktails. Lots of authentic options. The pad Thai & seabass are the best we've ever had. We're now regulars :)

N O.

Yelp
Ate at "Q" for the first time. We all ordered different stuff to share and taste. The food was SO SOOOO good. We shared the seafood rolls, shrimp eggrolls, cashew lambchops, orange chicken, filet, pork. Not one dish disappointed. Give it a try for something different in ORLAND PARK.

Renatta L.

Yelp
What a hidden jem! Food was delicious, very authentic. My frienf had the pad thai. It was not cloying sweet and had just the right amount of tamarind. Noodles were light and airy, not heavy and clumped together. Service was excellent as well, very attentive.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
Great drinks , nice quiet atmosphere, modestly sized dining room. Clean and beautiful bar area. We got the fish cakes and some other apps and cocktails to start all delicious. We hadn't been here in years but remembered the French steak was great so we shared that and the sea bass in the pineapple curry, both were outstanding! We got a dessert to go and we're so happy with the service. They charge enough to keep the doors open but also to keep the dining experience intimate, definitely not your typical Asian fare for this area. Stands out and above. I think we've been here only 3 or so times but each time has been very memorable. No pictures this time, we dug right in !
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
We came here last night for dinner. Ordered the lamb, an appetizer, honey chicken , pad thai noodles and pad sew noodles. The food was ok. Nothing special. Our bill was almost $150 for a dinner for 4 people. That's absolutely insane for what you get. Next time I'll go somewhere else where I can get more food for the money.
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
I rarely drink maybe 2 times a year and this place had me ordering some creative fancy drinks. Delicious. I am vegan my husband is Omni so I ordered the curry it was amazing! He had frog legs and lamb chops which he definitely recommends!! If you are vegan make sure you let them know. Place was extremely clean. Service was 100%. Very artistic and zen designs yet so modest. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Always fresh. Always tasty. I wish it was busier. These folks need more business. Our go to is the Basil Chicken Fried Rice. Amazing flavor and cooked to perfection. We also always start with the Qlamari. Calamari fried in tempura batter. We've also had a variety of noodle dishes and rice dishes. I don't think there is a bad item on the menu.
google avatar

Monique F.

Yelp
This was our first time eating there. I was blown away the food was delicious, the service was excellent. We enjoyed our dinner. This place is definitely a date night place

Yelp
We have been coming to this restaurant pretty much since the day they open their doors. It is owned and run by two sisters. The food is absolutely fantastic! I wish I could recommend one thing in particular but we have pretty much tried everything on the menu and everything is amazing. They have the most extensive martini list I have ever seen. Lychee is a crowd fav. If you don't see a martini you would like Ellie well ask you a few questions and come up with a concoction I'm sure will please you! Highly recommend!!!

Mike S.

Yelp
Stopped in while working in area around 3pm right when they opened, about a year ago. Been meaning to write a review. The lady at the front was very nice, even though I didn't have a reservation and probably wasn't appropriate dressed, she said it's ok you can sit down and eat. Waitress very nice and accommodating as well! Had chicken fried rice and garlic chicken, both were excellent! I've been wanting to go back since I tried Q, just haven't been area lately. But I just may have to make a pickup order and make the trip, it's worth it! Great job ladies!

J K.

Yelp
Fun place. Tasty food. Nice owners. Great drinks. Nice ambiance. Well worth a visit.

Spoiled L.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday evening and the place was empty; staff was rude service, especially the two sisters that work here.

L M.

Yelp
This restaurant is an amazing destination . The owners/sisters are extraordinary, their food is like no other, the service is spot on and the martini menu an absolutely delight. Q has become a special occasion restaurant for both my husband and me. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Q is a high end restaurant in both service and quality. That being said, I was also trapped by Nosheen and his children- screaming, phone flash lights and rice thrown everywhere. Their presence almost ruined our dinner then fortunately, they left . In addition , he spoke rudely to one of the owners in public. It was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Nosheen, your kids are too young and poorly behaved to be at such an elegant restaurant. I strongly recommend a pizza place until the children are better controlled. Try to remember that adults go out to unwind after a long week and enjoy their companions on a Friday night. No one wants to hear children scream. Lastly, try the Pho. It's like no other.
