Qahwah House Coffee - Astoria Queens

It has become my favorite place to go for coffee in Astoria. My go-to coffee is Jubani - medium, light roast coffee, and coffee husks with cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon. I usually get it with honey instead of sugar. I typically like spiced flavor teas and coffee; thus, I end up loving the taste of Jubani too. If you don’t like the taste of coffee husks and are looking for something stronger, then you can try Sana’ani. The best part is that neither Jubani nor Sana’ani comes with milk; making it perfect for people like us who are lactose intolerant. There are other coffees without milk or cream but I didn’t try them yet. Another three must-try items from the menu are Khaliat Alnahl, Pistachio Milk Cake, and Feta Spinach. All three of them are delectable, particularly the Pistachio Milk Cake. (Took Lactaid Supplements before having them 😋). The Feta Spinach was flaky, light, and delicious. It perfectly pairs with a small pot of Jubani. I had also tried the Basbousa but was slightly disappointed with the taste as it wasn’t moist and flavorful like a typical Basbousa that I had tried before in other places.

Place was packed and pretty loud for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Interior is very well designed. Adani chai was recommended by the person at the register and it was OK Refresher was way better than the Dunkin and Starbux. Honey comb bread was good. Careful with the tea it is served piping hot

Lovely coffee shop with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere! I had a chocolate croissant and an Iced Adeni Chai. The barista asked me if I wanted sugar and I said “a little,” and while it was delicious enough regardless, I should’ve gone with the standard amount of sugar haha! They know what they’re doing. It was definitely my favorite chai though, and the croissant was amazing too!

I ordered the Yemeni iced latte, but I think the taste is something that people might have different opinions about. To me, it felt quite weak. If you enjoy a richer, stronger coffee, this might not be very satisfying. With the latte, I could barely taste the coffee itself. For dessert, I tried the saffron cake, which was very delicious. It took about 10 minutes for the coffee to be ready after I ordered.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I paid the same price as always for Khaliat Almahl, but this time they gave me a much smaller portion (see photo). When I pointed it out, they tried to convince me that the smaller one is what I’m “supposed to get.” I’ve been coming here for a years and ordering the same thing every time. Don’t tell a loyal customer they’re wrong instead of admitting you reduced the portion! Charging the same money for less food and refusing to take responsibility on time. Won’t be coming back.

Tea was amazing. We had the yemeni tea and Moroccan mint. Also had a honeycomb pastry which was fabulous. Service and staff were awesome and very friendly and warm. Will be back!

Amazing energy here. Good coffee shop that’s open late 👍👌🙏. Love hanging out at coffee shops having deep dive confo’s with the caffeine I just ingested and this place is not boring. Amazing coffee, love the double expresso pot (Mufowar).

Beautiful space and a very cozy, upscale vibe. I loved the concept and was excited to try Yemeni chai since I usually get mine from Indian spots. Unfortunately, the experience at the counter wasn’t great. When my brother asked for chai, the cashier responded in a rushed and annoyed tone, repeatedly saying “brother” instead of calmly explaining the options. It made him feel uncomfortable and rushed into ordering. The place has a lot of potential, but better customer service would really improve the experience.

This charming Astoria spot has quietly become one of favorite coffee destination. And thats coming from a onve in a blue coffee drinker. My personal fave here is Juban. A gentle and aromatic blend of medium, light roast coffee, coffee husks, and a warming spice medley of cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon. I prefer it sweetened with honey rather than sugar, and soy milk. As someone naturally drawn to spiced teas and coffees, I found its flavor profile to be both complex and comforting. Perfect for the cold weather. For those seeking a more robust brew without the distinctive note of coffee husks, I would highly recommend the Sana'ani. A notable plus is that neither Jubani nor Sana'ani is prepared with milk, making them ideal for anyone with lactose intolerance, myself included. But they do have soy, almond, and oat milk for anyone with said issues. Beyond the coffee, there are three essential menu items not to be missed: Khaliat Alnahl, the Pistachio Milk Cake, and the Feta Spinach pastry. Each was utterly delectable, though the Pistachio Milk Cake was a standout. (I did take a Lactaid beforehand, a worthwhile precaution!) The Feta Spinach pastry was wonderfully flaky, light, and savory, and it made for the perfect pairing with a small pot of Jubani. A truly delightful discovery. I look forward to being back for their cold offerings in the spring/summer.

Awesome coffee and the place has such a cool vibe! If you've never tried the Adeni Chai, then go ahead and order it quick! It's the best chai ever! I've been to many of their other locations, and they're all always very crowded.

Possibly my favorite discovery in Astoria so far. I'm a big pistachio latte fan--so much so that I usually make one at home every morning and reserve café versions for weekend treats. Today, after a spontaneous Target run, I stumbled upon this hidden gem just a few steps away, and I'm so glad I did. From the outside, it's pretty unassuming, but stepping in felt like being transported somewhere--bright, spacious, cozy, and with such a welcoming vibe. Saed, who greeted me with warmth, shared that their pistachio latte is the best-seller. Naturally, I was intrigued. When I asked about the ingredients and calories, he kindly offered to make it less sweet. I truly appreciated the gesture. Initially, I wasn't planning to stay--I was set on a quick to go cup. But when Saed offered to serve it in a beautiful mug with latte art, I figured, why not? It was a hot day, the space was cool and relaxing, and I wasn't in a rush. When my drink was ready, it looked just as lovely as it tasted--familiar, comforting, and well-balanced. The latte art was a thoughtful touch, and the coconut hibiscus cake was a wonderful surprise. Delicious. But what made the biggest impression wasn't just the coffee or the cake--it was the hospitality. Saed even encouraged feedback and said he'd be happy to tweak it if needed. We've become so used to rushed, transactional service that a moment like this--a genuine, kind, and thoughtful customer experience--feels rare and incredibly refreshing. I'm a loyal Starbucks person (and yes, there's one right across the street), but I think I just found my new favorite spot. Kudos to Saed and the team for a standout first impression. Please keep it up. I'll definitely be back.

Place was packed at night! We shared the Adani chai, kunefe cheesecake, and the cheese honeycomb bread. We asked for no sugar in the chai and it was delicious! The cheese honeycomb bread is interesting, tastes like sweet bagel bites with cream cheese. Glad I tried it but would not get again. Def would come back to try their iced matcha lattes / coffees!

Let me first say, this has been my go-to spot since I tried their hot chocolate that amazed me (yes, it's that good). HOWEVER, Qahwah house is known for their coffee so for my 4th visit we tried a simple cappuccino + mocha and of course, it did not disappoint. Coffee is their expertise and you can taste it in the quality - it's so rich and they take their time to prepare each drink and any place that takes coffee serious and to another level will forever be good in my book. I also want to give another nod to the service. Firstly, their reaction to just ordering hot chocolate is hilarious since it causes a bit of confusion - they're so known for their coffee and prefer customers not to wait just for hot chocolate BUT they don't understand that it's worth the wait. The service is always A1 and everyone is nice and cares about your experience - I really do appreciate that. You can tell they LOVE coffee and the way they approach and prepare coffee is DIFFERENT compared to a lot of coffee shops I've been to. Will be back to try more options - future review pending ...

My friend highly recommended this busy spot in Astoria for their Yemen coffee. The decor is modern and the vibe is so chill in the cafe. The place is popular and occupied with people all the time. It is a bit loud but you can feel people are happy with their drink and food. I would recommend all the items we got. The cream in Hazelnut Dream is so light and not that sweet. The honeycomb bread is good size to share given it is quite filling with the bread outside. It is so satisfactory with the warm honey dressing.

This is the worst cappuccino I've ever had. It tasted burnt, bitter, and sour. I ended up not drinking it and i have never, ever done that. I couldn't even bear a second sip.

Adeni chai is a must get! You can choose how sweet you want your chai to be. The chai was so aromatic and warm. The Khaliat al nahl (honeycomb bread) is a nice snack to enjoy while you're trying to finish up some work. I honestly love this place due to its spacious interior and relaxing ambiance. They have a lot of table space and wifi if you ever want to get some work done. At night, this place turns into a popular hangout spot to grab some coffee or treats after dinner.

My friend and I had dinner in the neighborhood and were in the mood for dessert and my friend said she had been curious about trying this place. I am so glad she suggested it - we tried the khaliat al nahl (honeybread), which was soooo delicious. Every bite was so good and I have already recommended my other friends try this place when they have the opportunity. If we had a bigger appetite and it wasn't so late, I definitely would have wanted to try other treats or some of their drinks. This place seems like such a cute place to catch up with someone over a drink / treat and/or study, and the vibes were so good when we came by. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - definitely check it out and at least get the khaliat al nahl. The staff was also kind and friendly. Great place on so many levels.

I wish I drank coffee at places like this one. You can tell the coffee is pure quality. This Yemen coffee cafe is great (and open late, thank God). We stumbled in after an event and it was the perfect nightcap. I got the Yemeni chai and it was very tasty. We all shared desserts. I got the triple chocolate cake but my friend got this pistachio-esque pastry and it was so yummy I almost stole it from him. Great spot for a local meetup or a chat with a friend as there is ample amount of seating. Will definitely be back.

This location is much larger than their Williamsburg location with plenty of seating inside and even an outside patio in the back. The Mofawar came recommended by one of the workers who said it was his favorite, and I can see why. The Yemeni coffee is strong and slightly bitter but the cardamom and cream balance it out so nicely. The Small Pot was easily shared among 3 people and could probably feed up to 4. The Sabaya & Khaliat Alnahl weren't as fresh and would've been much better if they were warmer which would make it easier to cut through. Between the two, I definitely preferred the Khaliat Alnahl; the sweet cheese and honey combo is so satisfying and paired well with the coffee. Great spot to work from, catch up with friends, or enjoy a Yemeni coffee!

I love this café. They have so many yummy items to choose from + the outdoor seating in the back is lovely. Moroccan Mint tea was awesome. I had the Pistachio milk cake and it was delicious. Service is always friendly & on point. The ambiance is casual. They have a world map showing the influence of Arabian coffee with a bunch of tables and seats. It's always spotless & clean whenever I go. The staff works very hard to serve everyone.

Qahwah House is good don't get me wrong but the vibes here are just off. The servers/employees at this location just exude bad vibes and need to be a bit less...how do I put it...too friendly to the point where it's inappropriate? Which is unfortunate because the tea and food here is great. I'll opt for takeout or dine in at a different location next time.

Qahwah House is such a great late night hang out spot. Stopped by with a few Elites after an event and everyone left satisfied. I tried their Dragonfruit Lemonade because I was craving something cool, crisp, and refreshing at the moment. Loved it! Not too sweet. Also tried the Triple Chocolate Jabal Saber--also delicious and not too sweet! It was indulgent and creamy but not heavy at all. The staff was super patient with our group. Whatever questions we threw at them (as first time visitors), they answered with a smile. Created a great atmosphere for the crew.

This chain is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. Not only because it's halal, they have excellent Yemeni coffee and tea's. I was in an event close by, and my friends were dying for really good coffee and tea. So, of course, I brought them here. I tried the cold brew, and I think it must have been not quite regular, as it was thinner/watered down, not the signature flavor of Yemeni coffee. The staff ended up trading my drink in for the Chai because they had run out of so many different things (it was getting pretty late). I was fantastic. My friends enjoyed their Yemeni lattes, refreshing fruit drinks, and their tea service with decadent desserts. I'm sure i've made new customers out of all of my friends

Huge place with a lot of seating but it does get quite busy. The teas and coffees are pretty good and I really enjoyed the steamed ginger milk I got this time.

Came here for the Pistachio ice latte. Delicious and will come back to try the baked goods. Nice spacious place and great atmosphere to read a good book or meet up with friends and family for coffee.

Absolutely couldn't have had a better experience. As soon as you walk inside the space is bright and welcoming. I tried the amazing Mofawar medium roast coffee served with cardamom and cream. It was simply delightful. I also tried the two featured pastries on the menu. The Khaliat Alnahl was incredibly delicious. A pull apart buttery cheese filled roll drizzled with honey . Yummy and so fresh. Enough for 2. The Sabaya was also really tasty freshly baked soft sheets of flaky layers of pastry. Another hearty and delicious pastry. When you approach the counter, you're actually greeted with such a nice way and a smile. I will definitely be returning here to try other delights that they offer and different types of coffees.

Popped in on Thursday night after 10pm and place was still busy and fully staffed. All 3 gentlemen were very attentive and kind. I had to pick up and item and ended up with a pistachio latte decafe and it was flavorful with the robust coffee taste and pistachio flavor. What a great spot that has inspired many others! Happy this chain business is doing well.

Qawah house just doesn't miss fr. If you've never tried adeni chai before you need to change that and this is the best chain in nyc for it. This location has ample seating including a backyard with many tables. Strawberry lemonade refresher is yummy and my own drink that I've came up with that I got my fam hooked on is the iced mocha with Yemeni spices!

Spacious cute coffee/tea house with plenty of seating, cute boys working and abundant menu of coffees, teas and light snacks! It is very much a social gathering scene in the evening curious to see if this would be a good spot for working during the day. The honey butter pastry was so delicious!

Drinking coffee late at night? Don't worry about it. A very chill place that does have a lot of Muslims here that welcomes everyone. I got apparently, a whole pot of coffee. There's a lot of desserts here and we shared some pistachio type of dessert and a caramel chocolate cake. It's a little hard to share since there's a hard outer chocolate shell that's tough to cut with plastic cutlery. It goes well with the coffee. Probably next time, I'll try an ice coffee. The coffee is very smooth and easy to drink. Not sure how much sugar they added, but they said it is usually more bitter so they recommended it with some sugar. The decor in here is pretty cool with maps and whatnot.

I came here to get some work done while in queens. My friend insisted I try their coffee. I was not disappointed. The place is really big, with nice art on the walls - lots to offer. I had a latte with vanilla and my guest enjoyed a latte with white mocha. Both delicious and hot! Honeycomb pastry as a dish was a must! Although most of the staff did not speak English they were friendly. I will definitely be back.

Service was friendly and quick. Pumpkin spice matter was amazingly smooth. Plenty of seating in a clean, modern space.

TLDR, great place, I just wish they'd fix their wifi. Lots of interesting drinks, friendly staff. In mornings it's not crowded and you can spread out in the spacious area. I find their desserts small (but that' shrinkflation everywhere nowadays) It has a nice dark cozy vibe. Then at late evenings it becomes lively because families seem to visit this place. Sometimes you might like enjoy the arabic music being played, and sometimes you don't. I guess the randomness is part of the appeal of this place for me. The downside its not a good workspot, because wifi is very spotty.

Beautiful store and very nice baristas. Loved the Jubani! Yemeni coffee is always super good. It's close to the subway so I look forward to stopping by on my way to work.

Great coffee as always from Qahwah. This place is always buzzing until closing. There is a lot of seating. They have a variety of pastries too to go with the tea or coffee. Service was great too and the staff always gave out the orders with a smile. I am not a coffee drinker but I tried the jubani without sugar and the flavor profile was something unique.

Qahwah House, a small chain, is the second Yemeni cafe to try their luck in Astoria. While the teas and desserts are delicious, as is the decor, we found language barriers, with certain staff members unable to speak and understand English clearly. This hampered our ability to make an accurate order. As for the food and coffee, they were very good. I ordered an exotic tea, which was a little spicy, but all in all, it was a good day at this establishment

I prefer this location over the Williamsburg one, way more seating. Drinks are amazing, you can't go wrong with any of the espresso based drinks. But I wouldn't suggest getting any of the food items.

This place is a ship without a captain. For the most part it doesn't get too crazy but the wait is obscenely long for espresso drinks and food. They give you a buzzer which is helpful, I guess? Because management is absent, tables are not cleaned and the bathrooms are gross and disgusting! I don't understand how when you buy a franchise like this, you just leave a couple of inexperienced baristas to run your business? mind-boggling... At least at Paris Baguette across the street there's a couple of (middle eastern) managers who are really keeping things in check. You have been warned....

Amazing tea and coffee, good pastries, great atmosphere. This place has become a regular spot for me to meet up with friends since being introduced to it recently. The adeni chai is so good--I recommend you try it.

Savory pastries were good. Would return to try to the Sambosas. The clientele seems great here, a mix of groups and solo people. They have a long way to go with organization, service, timing, and upkeep. On a relatively slow day (perhaps a third of the cafe full, 2-3 orders made in a span of 20 mins), waited 15 minutes for items ready in the pastry case by the register to be warmed up. Most of the staff appeared to be new to food service, and did not appear to pleased with being there. They didn't seem to have any system for the many employees to follow as a team. There was trash around on the floor, although people should also pick up after themselves. I hope they bring on board floor managers experienced in food service, to direct the employees better in all aspects. The lighting is quite harsh, with old track lighting. Not overly bright, but harsh and uncomfortable for the eyes. Glad that the clientele and social ambiance is strong--for that reason I hope they smooth things out as time goes on.

Delicious tea! Yes, pricey but actually worth it. Not to mention the Ambiance is totally my cup of tea..get it

Everything I've tried here is so tasty. I love the space in West Village, and even more at the Astoria location. Everyone's been so nice!

Fantastic all around Coffee delicious and lovingly made. Pastries are to die for. Service do friendly and open. Bustling atmosphere. What a lovely edition to Astoria. I highly recommend

The only downside is that there are only 3 outlets to charge your computer. Other than that everything is amazing: the ambiance is inviting, the service is friendly, the food is terrific, the coffee is spectacular. And let not forget the unusual hours: 7am to midnight. Who does that? This place is the best.

The guys who work there are really welcoming and hardworking. The environment is relaxing, and my coffee tasted great.

DELICIOUS. The smell of the coffee beans when you walk in is unbelievable, best coffee house around there's really nothing better than their product, you can never go back to regular coffee again

The inside is very spacious as there is also a spacious backyard area which I like since it's not awkwardly placed in front of the store in public view. WiFi is good it just sucks in the outside area. Coffee is amazing too.
