I visited Qamaria Coffee Co. for the first time today after seeing on Yelp that they were pet-friendly. I brought my dog, and my two friends came along one with a beagle and the other with her one-year-old baby. We stood inside the establishment for over 15 minutes, placed our orders, interacted with the staff, and waited for our drinks. Not once did anyone mention that pets weren't allowed.
After all that time, the owner suddenly approached us and said that dogs were not allowed inside. It was incredibly frustrating, especially since no one said anything earlier. If there's a strict no-pet policy, it should've been communicated clearly and immediately not after we'd already ordered and were waiting.
To make matters worse, there was zero effort to accommodate us, even with a baby in our group and the cold weather outside. The two larger seating areas inside were taken up one by the owner and his friends, the other a paying customer and it felt like we were treated more like a nuisance than paying customers. When I expressed that I felt uncomfortable and that people were now staring at us, the owner dismissively said, "Who's staring at you?"
I asked for a refund and didn't receive one. The staff offered the drinks complimentary, which my friends accepted, but I still didn't receive the refund.
SUCH A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE FOR A FIRST TIME.
This is more of a heads-up for anyone looking to visit with pets: this place is not pet-friendly, regardless of what their Yelp listing says. I left feeling embarrassed and extremely disappointed, and I won't be coming back.
