Loved the cinnamon roll here, so decandent and they were generous with the frosting! Service was good but they changed my breakfast sandwich bread because they'd run out of that bread without informing me.

Having gone to this place twice already, this store has me already questioning the existence of why it was even there to begin with in the first place. It’s really hard to find parking, and even if you’re lucky, this trip may not even be worth taking public transit or driving to at all. The interior of the shop looks modern, chic, and well organized. However, one can only imagine the environment and its tables — when I arrived and took a seat, some of the seats were dirty, and some of the tables were not even sanitized. The atmosphere of the shop seemed dead, because despite people studying, the music was too loud, and I could barely hear myself speaking, even while ordering my drinks. I ordered a Passion Me cold brew, and to be honest with you, I tossed that as soon as I walked out the door. They have the weirdest drink options, and honestly passionfruit with cold brew does not sound fitting. The drink had too much passionfruit purée, and there was too less cold brew to even begin with. In addition, their drinks are insanely expensive, which one can expect because it’s right next to the UC Berkeley campus. After this experience, I don’t think I will be coming back to this establishment again. Their service is really poor, and the person that runs the cashier and register and coffee machine just sits there waiting for our guests to come by.

Google
the line was lowk long, they only had two workers, who were nice but it took a while for them to take our orders and give the food. even when we got to the front, they were mostly out of options and so i resorted to ordering a blueberry muffin. overall it was a good muffin.

Google
I ordered two lattes, one hot and one iced. They made the hot latte an iced one by mistake, and when I tried explaining it, it took them a long while to, understand, acknowledge it and offer a replacement. Then, they decided to put the replacement latte behind all other orders to the very last, and served 3 groups of people their coffee before starting to make the hot latte. What terrible service for a mistake on their end. Not to mention, there was an extremely loud individual sitting right at their entrance on the phone who kept raising his voice, which made the entire experience in this cafe super unpleasant.

Nice and bright coffee shop with various options of delicious drinks. You can order from a self service kiosk. However it is better to check if the item has sold out before adding to cart, because it might happen that they don't have the item you already bought from the kiosk. The staff is helpful and kind if you have a problem.

Adam Toner

Google
I selected “no ice” on the kiosk. The printed label clearly says “NO ICE.” I got lots of ice. I didn’t bother having them fix it since I already had to wait several minutes for my drink. And then the server told me I needed to stir my own drink.

Google
They didn't have any of my items on post mates but didn't want to cancel my order or update on their storefront that they had sold out, so I had to take hours of my night on finals week in order to get a refund through post mates. Also took a long time to tell me this so now I can't order from other places which have now closed. This place sucks.

I ordered the passion me cold brew and it is the worst drink I’ve ever had. I only had a sip and nicely asked if I could have a simple coffee drink instead - they told me to just buy another drink. The policy was a bit insensitive. Update: I went in a second time to say that it was to no one’s fault but the drink was genuinely bad and I was just there to buy a drink to enjoy. They doubled down and said that if I want another drink I just have to buy it. They said they could give me a 20% discount. I responded asking if we could come to a compromise. In the end, they asked if I’m in a situation where I can’t afford to buy another drink - with that they gave me a simple cold brew. There was no need to make me feel humiliated for getting a bad drink. Try to be more empathetic!!

Yelp
Got a honey matcha boba tea with soy milk! Pretty good! Service was fast on a Saturday morning. Very good at answering my questions about non dairy milk options (on a laminated print out for "create your own beverage").

Yelp
Location and decoration make me give it 2 stars instead of one. I ordered a berry smoothie that looked nothing like the picture (it was purple instead of blue, they didn't put whipped creme on top, and not jam/syrup on bottom). When they called my name I mentioned it to them and they told me that they were out of whipped creme. I told them then why did you ask my daughter if she wanted whipped creme on her drink (she had declined). He just they ran out after I ordered. I told him, even without the whipped creme it looks nothing like it. He said that's how they make it. He ended up remaking it for me, which he added way to much syrup so it wasn't good at all as the overly sugary syrup and too much amount of it made it unpleasant. My daughter says her dei k wasn't that good either

Yelp
I came in on a whim after buying a red bean bun in the bakery across the street. Long ago, I was a customer at the Noah's that preceded this coffee shop. In fact, I've been around so long that I remember vaguely the clothing shop that was here before Noah's! While the neighborhood is not super-attractive, I was happy enough to revisit this stretch of Telegraph after a fairly long absence. Even before I crossed Telegraph with my bun, I had been interested in Qargo called because it's a new coffee shop in the area and belongs to a reputable chain with locations in DC, Florida, Texas and so on. The inside is weirdly lit but could well be an attractive study space for students. The essential setup is classic: Italian beans (presumably imported in vacuum-sealed cans) and a formidable-looking espresso machine. My drink was on the high end of espresso shots near or on the campus. (There's lots of good coffee in Berkeley, though there's plenty of bad coffee as well.) The price that I paid for my macchiato ($4, including a tiny tip) is slightly below average in the category of campus-area double macchiatos. A detail worthy of mention is that the barista served my drink as a double espresso without the milk foam that's required for a macchiato. He realized this on his own, walked over to my table and took the drink back to add its foam topping. He seemed eager to fill the order correctly and apparently took extra care to pull a good shot. My summary description of Qargo Coffee is that it made me a solid espresso drink and has reasonable prices. On the other hand, the ambiance is slightly weird and the neighborhood remains deeply sketchy. I think that the positives outweigh the negatives and recommend that you check out this cafe when you're around Southside or Sproul Plaza.

Yelp
I can tell this cafe is about to be the new it place on Telegraph! The interior is aesthetic, and they have a huge menu with Italian specials. They're not technically open yet, but they're holding a promotional event, so I highly recommend checking it out. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk, and the espresso was incredibly smooth. Service is Starbucks-style.

Yelp
Honestly I try different places to see how there matcha is and honestly this time I've had a new experience and it was a strawberry match and honestly it was one of the best matcha I've had and tasted on a long time. Would recommend trying the Strawberry matcha and also there pastries were looking good also tried the chocolate all butter croissant and was delicious. Service was also great and very helpful employees while ordering. Would recommend anyone who's in Berkeley to try!

Yelp
Nice decor, but the service and the cleaniness could be improved. Went in for a tea and a chai, $9.50! Ridiculous I felt for basically hot water and milk. I did not leave a tip, if it was less, I might have, except that I asked the guy behind the counter how his day was and... crickets. Maybe because I had made an attempt to hurry along the guy in front of me who despite having been in line took his sweet time, still, come on dude you're in customer service pucker up. OK, so that's that, on top of that the restroom was pretty pretty pretty dirty, even the walls. that always makes me wonder if you can't keep a simple restroom clean. What about a complicated kitchen? Safe to say I shan't go back.

Yelp
Qargo beep beep (lol) The qoffie was inquedible. Had a qargolicious (like fergalicious hehe) encounter with the bartender. Its SO BRIGHT in here like a doctor's office but safe. There are some items strewn about to make you feel extra safe. BUT they're missing some 9Volts on the backsplash but they make for it in high qolity products. Getting me the qargo qombo on the next visit. other clever wordplays I didn't know how to fit in: Esqargo, pasta qarbonara ha ha

Yelp
The space seats about 50 people - the ordering station is at the front door entrance. It is crowding and will cause confusion. Some seating is crowded by the ordering station. The ordering theme is: EMPOWERING THE CREATOR. Be prepared to sit and talk with others. The drinks are hand-made and will take time!
google avatar

Kai M.

Yelp
pros: coffee is okay, they use lavazza. Service is pretty average. it's got a futuristic interior and plenty of seating. cons: this place has no ventilation, it feels like you're suffocating. They also did this soft opening event where in exchange for a five star review you'd get a free drink. This is not an ethical business practice at all. if your coffee is good the reviews will speak for themselves.

Yelp
I paid $17 for a 16oz. Choco Coco Nitro Cold Brew and a cannoli . The cannoli was really good, but the nitro coffee was so-so. Very overpriced -- I think I qualify for a student/academic discount but I forgot to mention it and the cashiers did not ask me "are you a student?" like a lot of the businesses around here do to help you out in catching the discount. Upscale cutesy ambiance is both a pro and a con depending on who you are.

Yelp
The cafe itself is so pretty and a nice environment! I ordered an Iced Lavender Mocha, I thought it came with whip cream on top since that's what was in the picture. Turns out you have to pay extra for it + they didn't even fill my drink up all the way. The drink itself was okay, I wouldn't get it again. As for food, I ordered a Bacon and Mozzarella Everything Bagel. The bacon and mozzarella itself were good. But what got me was the bread. It was super stale and hard. I had to bite down so hard to eat it that I got a cut on the roof of my mouth. I ended up not being able to eat even half of it. Overall, I payed $15 for both items and it was not worth it.
google avatar

Fada G.

Yelp
Paid $15 for a croissant sandwich and a matcha latte. Sandwich came out burnt and overall flavor was pretty gross. Matchas are hard to get wrong so the drink was fine. Probably never getting food from here again. Service sucks but at least the inside is nice.

Yelp
Came here with friends as a place to study for a few hours. $10 for a slice of cake that was really small and dry. It didn't really taste right and felt like it had been out for days. Their coffee might be a little better but I don't think I'm going to come back.
google avatar

Allie K.

Yelp
I got a large chai latte. 20oz was over $7. I took one sip and almost gagged. It was the worst chai I have ever had in my life. The interior was okay. Service was below average and it took 10 minutes for them to make this abomination. Waste of time, money, and hope.
google avatar

Yelp
The cafe itself is really pretty but the drinks don't taste as good :/ the refresher tastes super water down and bland. I've also seen pretty bad reviews on their coffee. If you want the aesthetic and free wifi, come here, but for the drinks, I wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely not a good coffee place. Takes forever to get a coffee and two pastries, no working restroom, coffee is mediocre, no working AC.

Kahoriz P.

Yelp
The place is fantastic and comfortable, offering a wide range of options to choose from and a helpful guide to assist you in making your selection. They have breakfast sandwiches and dessert, but it is a little bit pricey I ordered the Italian chocolate frappe. It's perfectly chocolatey, which I love, and it's not overpowering, which I also appreciate

Yelp
It seems like a lovely place but really, the drink is pretty bad. I wanted to come back for cakes until i got a sip of americano. Cakes do seem overpriced, being $9 for a small slice, but i probably wont be back until the reviews get better

Ed I.

Yelp
Best place for coffee and treats in Berkeley! ==================================== I am a dedicated coffee-nik who knows every single coffee shop in Berkeley like the back of my hand (for the past forty years, in fact). SO glad this place has opened up. Excellent Lavazza coffee; wonderful treats & eats; excellent service and courteous staff; very clean & classy place; also, open until late!

Yelp
The cashier was extremely rude and kept rolling her eyes. Whatever her problem is, she should leave it at the door. Beautiful place, too bad her attitude ruined my experience and will never be coming back.

Yelp
Just not great: dirty tables even in the early morning, the pastries look stale, the cappuccino is 3 stars at best. During the day it can be stuffy when it's warm. Saw they got good rating from a student promo that offered a free drink for a 5-star review. No thanks.
google avatar

Barbara H.

Yelp
Surprisingly good coffee! Almost 8$ for large 20 oz soy cappuccino but it was worth it. Although skeptical to try it out at first, as I usually get it from So Do I coffee shop, i could definitely say I'd give it a try again.

Reece L.

Yelp
Came across this place when running errands on Telegraph. Came in, staff were very friendly. Got a 24oz brewed coffee. Coffee was fresh and not too sweet, compared to chains like Starbucks. Place was clean and wait times were faster than chains like Starbucks and Peet's for example

Andy K.

Yelp
WARNING: Their 400+ reviews are illegitimate as part of a 5 Star = Free Coffee promo. Do not purchase anything here, their coffee tastes like actual dirt. I ordered a drink and it genuinely tasted horrible, like bitter cough syrup/dirt. Despite trying to like it, it was seriously bad. I told them this, and all they responded with was "that's too bad, you can buy another drink". I thought that was just really insensitive, and they could have either apologized, remade it, or given a regular coffee in return. I asked if they could remake it or something, but they just responded asking " Can you not afford it?", making me feel even worse, what rude staff. It was absolutely horrible and the company policy does not even try to listen to my genuine customer complaint, something new businesses should be actively open to. TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE. Expensive coffee actually tastes like dirt. Extremely insensitive staff.

Yelp
Americano is decent but the matcha is a little bit bland. The ambience is pretty hyper, the lights of the neon sign creates a colorful scene. Overall, the food can be improved.

Jane P.

Yelp
This small latte was $8.10 (yes it was oat milk) and the white chocolate syrup was NOT mixed in. It tasted nasty. For 8 bucks not worth. It was definitely 8oz of total drink without the ice:(

Mike S.

Yelp
Excellent espresso drink and a slice of ocean view! Seats could be a bit comfier but the interior design is tres chic. A few people were camped out doing work when I visited.

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Although I've only been there once, it's definitely going to be my new designated caffeine joint from now on first of all SO CUTE INSIDE unlike the other coffee places around, second they delivered a solid vanilla iced latte that was not too milk and relatively sweet so if ur not into that, maybe get a stronger fix. Also they offer a 24oz...THATS RIGHT so if ur ever having a rough day you know where to hit up. That's about it, enjoyable drink and definitely worth my money (was also not that pricey, around 6 bucks for a 16oz) !! ;) Highly Recommend

Austin B.

Yelp
Not sure how they have 5 stars on google, those reviews do not reflect my experience in the slightest. Service was fine the staff isn't the issue. It's bright and overwhelming, with laptops and tech bros taking over almost all the seats. The coffee tasted bad. Both cold brew and hot coffee were poor quality.

Shea H.

Yelp
Service was really warm and welcoming in the morning and it gave me a good start to my day. It is also a well lit and comfy place to study!

Neil S.

Yelp
Very very very bad service. Extremely rude cashier. Would give zero stars if I could!

Quantum L.

Yelp
They had an advertisement on free first cup of coffee but when you actually get there asking about that the staff first pretend not to know. And then reluctantly give it to you. They were adamant about me showing my email newsletter about the offer which I did, and then they didn't want to give one to my friend, which is not how you do business considering I brought another potential customer. Furthermore this free promo thing was plastered on their instagram which makes no sense that I needed to show them the email. The manager then gave me attitude calling me 'rude' and that was the worst experience I had ever encountered as a customer. Needless to say, considering the poor service and lousy tasting coffee I will not be willing to spend a cent at this nasty place.

Samuel J.

Yelp
It was like $9 for a Frappuccino, and the restaurant was super hot and had flies everywhere on their opening day. I do kind of like the interior decoration. The wait time was over 15 minutes after ordering at the register. Frappecino was very mid. Never again!

BigT R.

Yelp
Hi guys I recently had a very bad experience, but only with a piece of shit manager. Everyone but the manager GAMAL, is very nice and good at their work. Gamal made dirty looks at me and he has a very bad attitude. How is he even a manger? But oh well, I don't suggest going here if he is there, because he will ruin your day! The other associates of the establishment however are pretty nice :) The drinks and pastries are pretty good tho!

Maryam J.

Yelp
Customer service was awful. I ordered on the tablet as there was no one at the cash register, and I accidentally ordered my drink hot instead of iced. Upon apologizing and politely asking if my drink could be remade (explicitly saying take your time/no pressure), I was met with rude attitude and told that it's my fault, I should've known their menu better, they did nothing wrong, and there's nothing they can do about it. I've never experienced such attitude before especially given I was very polite and apologized profusely. Not only that, but when I didn't go to pick up my drink within 20 seconds, I was yelled at from across the shop. As a former barista, I understand the job can be stressful, but I was always happy to remake drinks as that is my job and the point is to satisfy customers. Safe to say I will never come back here after being disrespected, not to mention the coffee was $8 and mediocre.
