"As the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Hosn is one of the city's most significant landmarks. Built at the end of the 18th century, the building's watchtower was the city's first permanent structure, presiding over trade routes. But following an 11-year renovation, it opened in a new iteration, as a cultural center, in 2018. Rotating exhibitions take place in two buildings: the Inner Fort and the newer Outer Palace, which have formerly housed ruling families, the government, and the national archive." - Jenna Scatena

A palace transformed into museum which is located inside the city. A well maintained oldest structure and some part renovated to modern style. Welcoming staffs. Showing the detailed, time-lapse views of fast growing of the country as well as encompassing a wide range of Arab cultures, traditions, histories and heritages. The fort's architecture is nice looking. Nestled with some buildings like House of Artisans, Bait al Gahva, Children's Library and a Huge hall of contemporary design presentations. We can see The National Consultative Council building in the entrance. Which stands as a symbol of the federalization & unity of the UAE in the earlys. A traditionally brewed Gahwa will be served as part of their culture. Underground free parkings are available. An apt place for UAE history seekers.

I recommend this place, it has very beautiful places, very well distributed. From the moment we walked in, the receptionist was very friendly and attentive, the security people were also very friendly. What I liked most was that they had an option in case we didn't have the right outfit. They do not charge for this service. Entrance : 65 AED per person

The fort is a must-visit for those who love culture and want to know about the country's history. The exhibitions are of high quality and the space is impeccable. I visited at night and the contrast between Abu Dahbi's oldest tower and the skyscrapers is impressive. There is another cultural centre nearby and its possible to visit together.

A Journey Through Time at Qasr Al Hosn Fort Review: My visit to Qasr Al Hosn fort in Abu Dhabi yesterday was truly captivating. This historical landmark offers a unique glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region. The Cultural Foundation Exhibition featured an impressive collection of art and artifacts that showcase the UAE's artistic history. I particularly enjoyed admiring the beautiful paintings on display, which gave me a deeper appreciation for the country's artistic talents. The children's library is a wonderful resource for young minds, promoting literacy and learning in a fun, interactive environment. My visit to the House of Artisans was fascinating, as I got to learn about traditional crafts and techniques. The highlight of my experience was the House of Ghawa, where I participated in an engaging workshop and learned how to make Arabic coffee. Exploring the Qasr Al Hosn fort itself was a remarkable experience. The fort has been beautifully preserved, allowing visitors to explore the rich history of Abu Dhabi and gain insight into the lives of the ruling family. Overall, my visit to Qasr Al Hosn fort was an enriching and memorable experience that I highly recommend to anyone interested in history, culture, and art.

An interesting place to visit if you wish to know about Abu Dhabi in the 1930s. You get a good understanding about how life was and the story, the struggles and the triumph over adversity. A must visit place in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi has a fascinating history that dates back several centuries. Few people are aware of the nation's capital, yet many are aware of the rulers of Dubai. Al Hosn is a major figure in the culture. The Great Leader Sheikh Zayed's memories are housed here. A serene historical location in Abu Dhabi.

The oldest building in Abu Dhabi, containing the watchtower, the city's first permanent structure. Originally built to overlook the costal trade routes, evolved to home to the ruling family, seat of government, a consultative council, a national archive and since 2018 a museum of Abu Dhabi's history. Entrance fee: 25-35 AED. You can tour the whole site within 1.0-1,5 hour. Best time: Winter and afternoon, so you can see in both daylight and lighted up.

Very friendly and warm welcome by security staff, telling about upcoming sessions, e.g. Coffee ceremony which we attended and was marvellous. The Qasr al Hosn is just a most important historical location about Abu Dhabi since 1793 to 1966. A lovely museum with interesting items on display. Next is the Artisan House with informative displays, an Hommage to arabic women and their handicraft. The ticket price for Qasr Al Hosn is reasonable and recommended for all visitors to Abu Dhabi. Around the corner with one bus stop line No 40 to the Soukh. Also worthwhile a visit.
