Does St-Viateur Street Have Too Many Takeout Counters? | Eater Montreal

"Identified as an upscale burger joint and one of the chain entrants to the street’s expanding roster of restaurants." - Christopher DeWolf

QDC is quite famous in Montreal, but the fame doesn't always follow the taste, at least for me. It's a good and decent patty, but overall it's just that, good and decent. Fancy location, though. The place itself is rather small, you won't feel like staying. The manager (or maybe the owner, I don't know) is a rather loud person with both customers and employees.

A Burger Lover’s Dream in Montreal! 🍔 On our family trip to Montreal, we found QDC Burger, and it was a total hit! The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their was even the bone that stood-out , and the flat iron steak was delicious—just what you want from a Montreal classic. A big thank you to the staff, friendly, and the casual vibe made it perfect for our Italian family. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the city!

After walking around old Montreal, stopped by to experience probably the best burger I have ever had, the Rico Opera burger. Such high quality beef with delicious toppings and a lightly toasted brioche bun. So many layers of flavors, it was like a fine dining experience. Fries were also just about the best ever too, and I know my chips. Also had the French dip sandwich, and it too was an explosion of flavor and deliciousness. Patio was excellent for ambiance and comfort, this was our best meal during our stay in Montreal, hands down.

Was just wandering around Old Montreal and found this gem of a place - glad we decided to eat here. BEST BURGER EVER! Try their Steakhouse burger and Lefty’s burger. 🤌🏼

A gourmet burger to have a glass of wine with. Good flavours. Fries seemed like they were fried yesterday in bulk, then reheated to serve? That's one way I guess. Personally, I like my fries freshly fried ... and PEI potatoes not the QC sweet type, but that's just personal taste. Belle Province fries reheated in a toaster oven are also pretty good, and that's what these were like. The punchy music and owner's faintly insincere host-with-the-most schtick ... some will love, and others find a bit much. Then with tax and tip, it's nearly $60 for one person, which is a lot. As others have noted, Five Guys is minutes away, less herbs and wine admittedly, but much better fries (IMHO), and great burgers, for 30% less. QDC Burger is worth trying once for sure, if you can afford it. You may love it! It's definitely distinctive and not for everyone. I'll probably go back when I can. Write your review here and the owner will review your review for free. Enjoy!

Incredible food. We stopped here randomly, and it delivered and delighted. The burgers were fantastic. Patties made to order, served on a slightly toasted soft brioche bun. We got the Lefty which was cooked perfectly, juicy, and made me smile. The poutine was ridiculous, gave me a tear in the eye. Get me a bowl and a cot to take a nap after. The attention to detail on execution of each dish was like a fine dining establishment but grounded. But don’t dare come here if you like your burgers cooked well done and drowned in ketchup, this is not for you!

Reply to owner Peter Morentzos DO NOT GO EAT THERE THEY CHARGE $ for bottle of water scammer !! And food is 🤮PLEASE GO TO FIVE GUYS next door in old port way better Peter Morentzos as a local guide of Montreal, this garbage burger joint is not worth a dime. $140$ for salty fries and mediocre burgers? Robbery in broaday light .My kids is well behaved and busting no ball, unlike whatever chaos your own kids create and was raised dont compare. No high chair, no kids menu, charging for water, ignoring ketchup that’s your incompetence, not ours. It’s easy to talk behind a phone ! We I’m more than happy to show up at your restaurant and let’s see if you are actually a real professional restaurant owner Until then, everyone reading this: don’t waste your time here. Original review Went there late at night with my wife and two kids. The waitress looked super tired and not motivated to work. First of all, beware — they don’t give cups of water, you have to buy bottled water, they force you to. Second, the burger prices are outrageous, $24.99 for the cheapest one. To be honest, I’ve never tasted fries this salty before. Here’s a picture for you guys. The bill ended up costing $140 including tip for two burgers, a macaroni, and two bottles of water. I’m never going back and I suggest no one else does either. There’s a Five Guys just a few steps away that’s way better. Don’t waste your time here. The service was not good at all. The waitress never checked on us, and even when I asked for ketchup, I never got it. I felt like giving no tip, but since I’m respectful, I still gave her 15%. Overall, I’m really disappointed. Salty fries, expensive burgers, and terrible service.

Absolutely loved this place! The burger was juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked perfectly. Fresh ingredients, crispy onion rings and fast, friendly service made it even better. If you’re craving a killer burger, look no further!
