San Diego Restaurants Serving the Best Chinese Food | Eater San Diego

"Branching out from Los Angeles, this fast-casual noodle joint focuses on regional dishes not commonly found in many Chinese restaurants. Housemade noodles are found in the cold liangpi noodles and hot spicy wonton noodle soups; the Guilin noodle soup is a favorite with generous portions of tender beef shank, pickled vegetables, and lily flowers." - Helen I. Where to Eat Near UC San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Named one of San Diego’s 23 Essential Chinese Restaurants, this fast-casual chain from Los Angeles serves dishes from provinces in China that are not commonly found on menus in the U.S. including liang pi, cold noodles dressed in chili oil, cucumbers, and peanuts made in limited quantities daily, and roujiamo, a flatbread stuffed with pork or beef, hail from the Shanxi province. The Guilin soup from Southern China with beef shank, lily flowers, and sour bean rice noodles is another top-seller, as well as spicy won ton soup, mapo tofu, and Mongolian beef."

Haidilao and Qin West Noodle Delay Arrival at Westfield UTC | Eater San Diego

"Slotting in between Eureka and Veggie Grill at Westfield UTC, Qin West Noodle is a popular eatery with existing outposts in Los Angeles, Arcadia, and Irvine whose menu centers on dishes from Shanxi (like liang pi, or cold noodles, and lamb paomo, a lamb-based bread porridge) and Guangxi (notably luosifen, a strongly flavored rice noodle soup made with a snail and pork broth); the restaurant plans to introduce two exclusive dishes at this location — a red beef noodle soup and fenzheng rou, five-spiced pork steamed with rice powder — but its opening has been pushed from summer to the fall." - Candice Woo

LA-Based Qin West Noodle Expanding to Westfield UTC | Eater San Diego

"Bringing more representation for Asian cuisine to Westfield UTC, it joins the incoming HaiDiLao hot pot; Qin West Noodle is moving into a spot near Macy’s at the south end of the mall and is currently slated for a Summer 2021 opening. Founded in Los Angeles in 2012 and a longstanding tenant of Chinatown’s Far East Plaza, the fast-casual noodle shop now operates several branches near Southern California college campuses including UCLA, USC, and UC Irvine. The menu draws from traditional dishes across Chinese provinces — from Shanxi’s liang pi (cold noodles topped with chili oil) and lamb paomo (a porridge-like dish of bread soaked in broth) to Guangxi’s pungent rice noodle soups luosifen and guilin mifen — alongside comfort staples like fried rice, mapo tofu, and beef chow mein." - Candice Woo

Food is pretty decent and pricing is reasonable. Flavors are good but noodles seem like typical dry noodles you can buy from the Asian grocery markets. Portion sizes are pretty big. Good for shopping mall food but if you really want some good Chinese style noodles, the Convoy area is much better.

I saw this place on a weekend so I filed it away in my memory bank for a weekday. Came here on a Tuesday, they have QR codes to self-order for to-go or for dine in. They automatically charge a % for credit card fee, but that's pretty common nowadays. The food. My goodness. The braised pork rice was so plentiful and had that good authentic braise flavor. I think I'll just buy it from them instead of making it myself when I'm feeling lazy. The Zhajiangmein didn't look like a lot compared to the braised pork rice but heck, I had to force myself to finish it. And, the drink choice is a no-brainer: Thai tea all the way, baby! It was so good. The cucumbers could have marinated a bit longer and I felt it was environmentally unfriendly that they packed the cucumbers in plastic containers with lids even if you were dining in. The rest is almost self serve. They have a water/ice machine with cups and you help yourself. The table has disinfectant wipes for you to clean your own table. I joked that if tw table isn't clean, it's because you didn't do a good enough job. 😂 If you finish all your food, there is a dropoff window at the back of the store to leave your tray and any trash. If you don't finish, you can ask for a lid at the window. The chopsticks and napkins are all available on the table. I found it amusing how self serve the business model is, but it works! Ordered more to bring home for dinner. Would totally be back for more!

I did the lunch bundle and it did not disappoint! The Taiwanese pork was so flavorful and the addition of the Thai tea and cucumber salad was perfect! I wou

While roaming around UTC and waiting for my friend, I finally got to try Qin West Noodle, though it was my first time visiting their UTC location. I ordered the Guilin Soup, while my friend had the Stir-Fried Chicken. Funny enough, I actually liked my friend’s meal more! Haha! At least I got to try mine, but if I go back, I’ll definitely try something else. The place is small but conveniently located near the parking and Macy’s. You just pick up your food at the front desk. The portions are big, so I had leftovers

Decent noodles. Tasted authentic and I tried the Lanzhou one. Didn’t realize that it does not come with meat! But still good spice and the noodles were soft. The beans were awkward and not for me but added a different flavor. Cucumbers were a bit bland and dry. Large quantities for it though. Next time I would try the beef soup. It’s a very informal order sit and eat/leave type of place. You bus your own tray into a big trash bin.

We came here for dinner. We ordered Beef Noodle Soup, Dry Mixed Noodles, Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings and Sesame balls. The beef noodle soup has good flavor and the meat was tender and tasty. The wide flat noodles were chewy which I liked. But the broth was salty. The chicken wins were very salty as well. The dry mixed noodles were ok. The tofu skin that came with it was undercooked. The sesame balls would be the best out of all the items we ordered. We placed another order but we waited for a long time to get it because they forgot about our order! They have indoor and outdoor dining options. You can order at the counter or scan QR code to order.

Ordered 2 noodles and 1 chicken for lunch. Portion size for all the items were good. The lunch deal included a drink and a cucumber salad. Everything was served in paper bowls. Very happy coming here for casual meal.

Delicious noodles as Qin West Noodle! We ordered the gullin soup, saozi noodle, Chinese MO pork, and the sweet sour baby back ribs. Everything tasted great. We ordered online and waited for about 15 minutes. There’s a dog friendly patio. Very friendly service. Recommend!

Yelp
My preferred outpost of the small but growing Southern Californian fast casual chain, due to its comfy indoor seating options in addition to the usual outdoor ones! The tables could be cleaned more often and more promptly given the rapid turnover of patrons, though. I pretty much like everything on the menu, but the Dry Mix Noodle (beef shank, pickled Chinese cabbage, lily flowers, peanuts, sour bean, pot stewed egg) has been my recent go-to. The Sesame Red Bean Balls (crispy sesame-coated balls filled with sweet red bean paste) are delicious too!

Yelp
Food here was as expected -- good, though nothing outstanding. We stopped by for quick eat-and-go Chinese food. - Liuzhou soup has a nice pickled flavor. Comfort Asian food. - Saozi noodle is a dry noodle with minced pork. Good flavors. In the end, we combined both dishes and that was pretty tasty. Qin West is not my first pick when it comes to Chinese food, but it's an easy spot and conveniently located in UTC mall. Food was solid.

Yelp
Qin West Noodles stands out for its affordability, though I was less impressed by the flavors, service, and cleanliness. Given how busy it can get, a wait of around thirty minutes is to be expected. The staff works hard to keep up with orders, but the dining area could be better maintained since the trash cans are often overfilled and messy. *Zhajiang Noodles: the noodles were thick and chewy, which I enjoyed. However, the tomato and pork sauce lacked flavor. The tomatoes were not well seasoned and tasted watery, while the grounded pork missed the richness that could have complemented the sauce. The cucumber and bean sprouts were also plain, which made the dish even more bland. *Liang Pi: these noodles had a nice texture as well, but the overall flavor was similarly mild. The taste relied mostly on the chili oil, which had an earthy, nutty quality but could use more depth and seasoning. *Spicy Wonton Soup: appeared very spicy but was milder than expected. This leaned more toward a numbing sensation than a flavorful heat. The wontons were small with a plain filling and the broth could have used a stronger flavor to tie everything together. While this spot offers generous portions at a reasonable price, the food itself was underwhelming and lacked distinct flavor. Combined with the cleanliness issues, I would probably choose to eat elsewhere at UTC.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant in the mall! The portions are decently generous, especially the liang pi and pig ear (which took me 3 days to finish). The flavors lack some of the complexity you'd find in dedicated restaurants, but overall this is a solid choice if you're craving some authentic chinese noodles. At peak times seating can be tough so be prepared to wait.
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
Wow this has gone downhill. I was looking forward to coming back here, but seriously doubt I will ever eat here again. The "liang pi" is listed as a favorite but it was so salty it was completely inedible. Even the cucumber side dish was heart-stoppingly salty! I had to wash my cucumbers off at home 3 times to even be edible. The noodles I washed once and added 1 cup of beansprouts and another cup of cold veggies to make them edible. The salt content was mind-numbingly ridiculous. Hard pass

Yelp
Was shopping at utc and passed by this sign for the lunch combo! Such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. I ordered saozi noodle and asked for mild flavor. It was great! I also saw another customer ask for more vinegar/spicy and they were able to grab some extra for her to adjust to her liking. The lunch combo can't be beat at the price!! So much value and bang for your buck, got thai tea as well as a side dish of refreshing cucumbers in this spicy chili oil sauce! Yum yum! In this economy this meal was priced insanely well lol I got the saozi noodles and the noodles were great loved the texture and flavor, one critique is wish it had more meat pieces but it was still quite good! Thai tea was alright but went well w the spicy cucumbers and noodles! Would come again for lunch combo!! It did get busier later on during lunch business rush. Located next to Marugame udon shop and order at the cash register, they will call out your number when ready. Was pretty fast took about 15 mins for my order

Yelp
Weekday lunch specials from 11a-2p (?) Offer a good choice of entrees that come with a side of marinated cucumbers and either a thai tea or lemonade for only $12.99! I got the Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly Rice bowl which is served with bok choy and I was happy Happy with my choice! So tasty and filling! The tables have cans of antibacterial wipes you can use to clean the table, seat, your phone, etc. I loved this! Def check out Qin!

Yelp
Saw this place on Youtube. The reviewer, Gareth definitely needs to reevaluate his reviews. The only positive, free parking. Negatives, where do I start. It's really a low grade fast food. It's close to impossible to understand counter folk are saying and figure out dingy menu. Service exceptionally slow, tables very few and not clean and the food, oh my. I was looking forward to beef noodles. Noodles really average at best (a 35 cent top ramen is better) and the beef, was it? The taste was so odd. My husband who is a "meat and potato" man wouldn't eat the meat either. Just nasty. My husbands sweet and sour ribs were not ribs but rather the "knuckle". Mostly bone no meat. Nasty twice. Our friend had fried rice, you guessed it, nasty 3 times. None of us could eat this food. In the bin! Oh, the price is expensive. A food reviewer needs to be honest not say things are good just because he is with a friend. Don't spend and lose your hard earned money in this place.

Yelp
Ordered in and tried Qin West Noodle and it was good not the best but still tasty. We had the beef noodle soup (I like the normal straight noodles), spicy wontons, and fried chicken. Everything was good but I prefer these items in SGV instead.

Yelp
All of the lunch specials were conveniently marked as "sold out" when ordering online at noon. I had come here because a friend had recommended the discounted lunch specials. It turns out there's a small sign at the top of the wall that says lunch specials need to be ordered at the register. I was confused by the layout and thought I needed to order online to dine in because there was no one at the window and the sign above the counter said pick up only. When you order online there's a 2.3% fee applied automatically. As for the food it's just okay. Nothing special, but on the oily and salty side. Definitely not worth the wait. Wait time for the food was pretty long (45 minutes to get one dish) and it turns out the rest of my food was sitting at the counter for 30 minutes after the first dish came out. They didn't call my number and I had to go up to the counter multiple times to actually get it. As for the service, it is next to none. The man behind the counter ignored me when I asked if the rest of my food was waiting and after asking him repeatedly he pointed at my food on the counter. He didn't apologize or explain why my number wasn't called. I got the Mapo Tofu, Gold Soup Beef Noodle(Spicy), Shrimp Chow Mein, and KungPao Beef. Everything was fairly oily and the mapo tofu and kung pao beef were super salty even after selecting the less salt option

Yelp
I was excited to try their Lunch Combos which is $12.99 + tax - includes entree, small cucumber salad, and your choice of lemonade or Thai tea. I opted for the Thai Style Minced Pork Rice - I was disappointed after my first bite as it was nothing like the entrees in Bangkok. The portion itself is big but it's because of the insane amount of rice they serve. The minced pork was on the salty side; the cucumber salad was soggy and oily; the lemonade tasted more like water with a hint of lemon. Sadly although the amount of food is great for the price, the quality isn't there. I wasted my stomach on this but I've always wanted to try this place. Like many, it's better to try and find out yourself because we all have different taste. I wish I could talent all back but hey, you live and learn. While some comments complained about the wait time, I saw only one cook. My order did take a bit long considering I was the only person in line but it wasn't long enough to complain.
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
Decent Chinese style noodle shop at UTC. Beware of the really long wait times. Usually takes about 20-30 min to order. We went during a weekday lunch and a weekday dinner and both times there were annoyed people standing around waiting for their order. They have well priced lunch specials and a prime location next to the ever popular Marugame udon

Yelp
This place had a weird vibe right when you walk in the door. There's menus only the wall to the left when you walk-in, which is fine, but what was on that wall said something about online ordering being closed so we were confused on how to order our food because the counter said pick up only. Our party of 3 were not the only people confused and someone eating told us they ordered online and the sign was wrong....after we ordered our food, it look a while for us to get it. There were plenty of tables open and it took about 15 minutes to get our food. It was very difficult to understand the person announcing the number on the receipt and you have to grab your own utensils too. The beef noodle didn't have any flavor and whatever the cucumbers were soaked in actually upset all of our stomachs :/ you also have to gather your dishes and trash and put them away. Overall it was a very bad experience and I will not go to any of the restaurant locations
google avatar

Karissa L.

Yelp
First time at this location but I usually go to the one in Arcadia. Food was good but the wait for the food was ridiculously long. It took them 30 minutes to get food out at 4 pm when there were only two parties in the restaurant. We had to keep asking for the food and it turns out they had all of our noodle soups sitting out while making the pan fried dumplings last. By the time we received our food my soup was cold.

Yelp
Last update (Moved from 3 star to 2 star to 1 star): They got my order wrong -_-. The workers there don't really speak english so I guess this was bound to happen. Update: came back again and it's really mid. The super long wait times (30 minutes and yes the restaurant isn't even full) doesn't rationalize it. I guess if you have time to burn at the mall, order and the come back when your shopping is done. Not sure if they're still experiencing growing pangs, or if lunchtime is just a very popular time, but the restaurant itself is maybe half full and the wait time is over 25+ minutes. Budget time accordingly. The food is good, but not GREAT to warrant "a 10 star" reviews. For the same amount of time and slightly cheaper, I could go to the Shan Xi Magic Kitchen in the convoy ranch 99 plaza and get my lian

Yelp
I saw this video on YouTube and it looked good and I made my hubby go try it for dinner the amount was good.  We got 3 bowls to try out. We had to clean our own tables, on the table was disinfect wipes.  1. BEEF NOODLE SOUP-just basic noodles with beef in it. The taste its like Vietnamese bun bo hue. This one I rather stick to my mom version of this it ways more better. It's nothing special.  2. GUILIN SOUP-my hubby had this one. The soup was average, not much flavor, portion was large,  3. LIANG PI-this one we ordered to go The dry noodles was good and the sauce had a nice spicy taste to it. In hindsight I wish I order meat with it, overall enjoyable

Yelp
The food is tasty but it's absolutely not worth going here if they're busy. TL;DR - We waited 1 hr 10 min for our food, didn't get all the food we ordered, & didn't get any sort of apology. My group went on a Saturday & ordered separately via the QR code at 7:15pm. By ~7:45pm, only 3/5 of our group got their food. My friend asked about the status of ours & the cashier said it's next in queue. Multiple parties that arrived after us received their food before us. ~8:10pm we still hadn't received our food, so we asked again & it seemed they moved our order ticket, meaning they hadn't started making it. At 8:25pm, my friend was going to ask for a refund then they gave us our food. Some sort of compensation would've been appreciated, but they didn't even apologize. When I opened my bowl, I saw only 1 piece of bok choy even though I ordered extra vegetables. At that point I didn't think they'd care if I told them, so I didn't. I'm so disappointed because I used to enjoy going here, & now I don't plan to return.

Yelp
Decided to stop in and try this location at the UTC mall. It's tucked around a tight corner next to a children's play space. Small interior with a few tables for indoor and outdoor seating. Right next to Eureka burger. I would suggest taking a look at the menu before arriving so you can order like a pro. Self serve order on the kiosks by the entrance. Pick up food at the window ask for whatever seasonings and utensils, they'll package it all up. Service was accurate. The Liang Pi noodles were good flavor and spice, perfect for sharing. The noodles were on the thicker side and had that chewiness to sink your teeth into. Great spot to take a break if you're in the mood for noodles.

Yelp
Terrible. Scanned the QR code to dine in order. Took an hour for them to finish my order of the beef noodle soup. Which is completely fine but when I went up to get my food after they called my number the guy ignored me for around 10 minutes. I tried saying something but he immediately started talking to some people in the back. Food wasn't that good for me to go through that again lol. Noodles bland, didn't absorb the soup. The beef was good though. But had a massive headache after eating it. Alsoooo tables are not cleaned, so make sure you wipe them down before you eat.

Yelp
Qin West Noodle is a self service fast casual spot at UTC that has lots of options and a good amount of seating if you don't want to order your food to go. I got the Spicy Wonton Soup and the wontons were really good but the soup its self was a little bland. I would love to try some more items from their menu.

Yelp
We visited this s place on Sunday around noon. Seating is too small for this busy small place was my 1st impression. Food is way above 5+ stars for this place. They give you delicious food and don't skim on quantity. Price and value is 5+. Food quality and price is an excellent value, hands down. Lots if chicken in the chicken noodle soup bowl. The kitchen can't keep up with orders. With the online ordering, this place also needs more kitchen help. Customer service is 3 stars. There's nobody to help clear the tables. There was 1 person to help take orders and pickup. Seating is impossible to get. Take out is the best choice. If you can wait 1hr for food during rush hour, this is the place for Chinese noodle since it tastes great food that won't leave you hungry at a very reasonable price. Recommended if you can wait for food or go during non rush hour dates.

Yelp
I ordered Liang Pi to go and when I got home, I had already eaten half of it until I saw something black floating in the sauce. I took it out and put it on a piece of paper to see it better, and turns out it was a small fly with wings and legs clearly visible. It was dead but it left me feeling uneasy.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a fast casual spot at the mall where you order the food with the QR code and then pick up your food when it's ready. Chinese Mo (spicy beef) - the bread was super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef was very flavorful and tender but I did not taste any of the spice.
google avatar

Thien-Kim B.

Yelp
4.5/5 - putting a 5 to average out the overall establishment's 3s. Good chinese food, it's flavorful and comforting. Confusing order and pick up process but for authentic chinese food I don't mind.

Kevin M.

Yelp
So they open at 11 and you're telling me that you're already out of stock on almost half of the menu items at 12pm? Whoever is in charge of inventory should be fired. No wonder there are so many low reviews here. Its only been and hour since they opened thats just ridiculous. It wasn't even busy either btw So i ordered my food at 12 and i just got it around 1:05pm. Tell me why my food is cold? This place is a scam and a waste of money. Deserved a 1 star. If i could i wish i can give them no stars. Guys if you have free will dont ever come here. You will waste your time on cat food and waste your money. Also whoever owns this restaurant, shame on you. Serving people cold dog food for 20$ selling people overpriced food.

Yelp
I waited 30 minutes in an empty store for a small bowl of popcorn chicken. Check the past few months reviews and they all say the same

Yelp
This was an incredibly disappointing experience after seeing positive reviews on Eater. First, the food was sadly mediocre. The beef noodle soup was flavorless, the noodles were incredibly bland. The Liang Ping was likewise just okay. Noodles lacked springy-ness and minimal sauce to noodle ratio - very eh. The cold cucumber dish was okay. We watched them place the fresh cucumbers just into the marinade and so did not have much flavor, the day old leftovers of this dish was much better. The highlight of the meal was the Chinese MO - a tasty, crispy Chinese version of a carnitas gordita. The service was also atrocious. We ordered online, received both e-mail and text confirmation that the order was received. Arrived after getting a text stating the meal was ready (30 min later), we found out that their "system was down" and all those messages were automated and they had never started on the meal. The staff also literally just did not care that this was an inconvenience - no apologies - just "this will take a while to make your meal" and putting the order in the back of the line. The staff then proceeded to handwrite the order to be made (and then did not write the order correctly - forgot to write down one of the items that was paid for). Overall over an hour wait for a very mediocre meal.

Yelp
Came here yesterday for lunch because there was no wait compared to other places nearby. And actually, Qin West Noodle has been on my list to try for a while! It's a chain, they have several locations. They had multiple menus plastered on the wall with descriptions and some pictures as well. They sadly ran out of all the delicious fruit jelly cups. And they didn't offer water cups, if you wanted water you have to buy a bottle. I feel like water station should be included and at that point they are just milking the money. Here at Qin West Noodle, everything is served in single use containers. They have packaged wooden chopsticks, but no real spoons. Flimsy plastic spoons and cardboard like bowls. The trash chute in the back of the establishment is an interesting concept. We ordered: - Mapo Tofu with rice: This is my first time having mapo tofu. It was a bright red, thin, but oily sauce. For some reason this one didn't come with any minced meat. & I know that mapo tofu has Sichuan peppercorns because it comes from the Sichuan Province. What some people don't know is that these peppercorns aren't particularly spicy but they have a mouth numbing sensation. It first tastes bitter to some, then you have the numbing effect, and it's followed by a citrus hit. For me, I didn't have any numbing but the citrus flavor was really strong and not pleasant to eat. My family didn't quite enjoy this, they aren't particularly used to the mouth numbing effect. Even will all of this knowledge we felt like the mapo tofu was lacking developed flavors. We wouldn't get this again. - Wonton Soup with Ramen, zero spice: very refreshing. The broth wasn't anything to write home about, but if you add a little bit of black vinegar it takes it to another level. The wonton wrapper was thin and the interior was juicy and delicious. This was very enjoyable. It came with big pieces of Chinese broccoli which we wished was pre cut in smaller pieces. - Beef Noodle Soup with wide noodles: this is the one I personally ordered and I was very excited for. The meat was chewy but melt in your mouth. The broth was delicious and when adding a bit of chili oil to it, it's divine. The cilantro and Chinese broccoli had bright flavor to it which uplifted the soup. The noodles reminded me of hand pulled noodles because of the wavy texture on the sides of them. They were bouncy and yummy. I think next time I'd ask for spice level 1 or 2. We did no spice, and I think that takes away from authenticity of the dish. The food did take a long while to come out and we were starting to wonder if they forgot about our order. About 30 min later we got our order. The interior space is clean and organized. Each table has a container of sanitizing wipes, napkins, chopsticks, and condiments. They had ample seating inside and out. It was pretty quiet in here though reminding me of a library. If you're in UTC, I'd give this place a try. They have much more options to eat than what we ordered and tried out. You can buy drinks from elsewhere (like Wushiland or wherever) and bring it in to drink while you enjoy your food!

Yelp
I normally refrain from leaving reviews that aren't positive as I understand businesses have their off days and I respect the hard work that goes behind each business' success. However, I have been to this location a few times and have had a consistent experience that I must share. I believe this is my first review below a 4 . Their food is always so comforting and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu I would say. My boyfriend and I used to come to UTC La Jolla just to eat at the restaurant. They also have a great lunch special worth checking out. However, I noticed that there is often more tables that are waiting for food than those that are enjoying their food. About a month ago, I noticed the long wait time but didn't think anything of it. Today, we waited over an hour for our order that wasn't very large at all. When I looked into the kitchen area, I noticed that our order was on a lower shelf, forgotten about and there was one item in our order that was still incomplete. I felt as though more special consideration needed to be had when we had been waiting for an hour. They receive orders through a QR code on the phone so there are times when people are trying to ask for something and the servers ignore those in line. Although I enjoy the food at this restaurant, the customer service must improve.

Yelp
I love this place. I don't know how many times I've just driven here just to get this and drive back home. The Liang Pi is a cold noodle dish with beef shanks in it. Comes with peanuts, sliced cucumbers, bean sprouts and some type of sauce with chili oil (depending on your spice preference). I ALWAYS get the cucumber on the side. It's just cucumber in some type of sauce but it's sooooo good! It's a small restaurant in UTC mall but I could honestly eat this every day. Before you would self order through an iPad but now you can order at the window where you pick up your food. I love this place and I recommend everyone to check it out. I'd rather eat this noodle place over the udon place next door.

Yelp
Came here at around 11:30 on a weekday. Store was not too busy and had a lot of empty seats. Got the 10.99 lunch special with zhajiang noodle, shrimp tempura, and lemonade. Zhajiang noodle took over 30 minute wait, I had to ask for my shrimp tempura and my lemonade. Shrimp tempura was actually decent but the lemonade was literally like the nestle powder mix. The sauce of the noodle was too ginger-y and overall it didn't have much flavor besides salt. Better off eating Panda Express at the food court if you feeling Chinese.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times and I like that they always have new and changing deals every week or two. I've had the dan dan mien and the beef noodle soup, and both are solid dishes. Could be on the saltier side, but overall pretty satisfying meals, with plenty of meat and noodles. One of the deals came with a thai ice tea, but it tastes more like an herbal tea with just a dash of milk, not the biggest fan of the drinks. Also seating is often limited, and most times when I come here by myself I end up having to share a table with a stranger, and coming here with a group can be even more difficult.

Yelp
I got the Beef Noodle Soup 牛腩面 and spent 23$. The beef is nice and tender and the broth is okay but the soup is in general tasteless. I've been debating on getting food here decided to treat myself and I'm forcing myself to eat it. I also got the cucumbers and I don't know if it's because it's at the end of the night but they taste rotten and even though there's plenty of sauce but I can't taste it. I just taste the rotten taste.

Yelp
Decent flavor but they skimp A LOT for takeout. I ordered the chicken wing dry pot and I kid you not, there was only 4-5 TINY wings in there consisting mostly of veggies. The pictures are misleading as I received about 1/4th the amount of meat compared to the picture

Yelp
Honestly I don't get the bad reviews I've been here plenty of times and its always a good time. Food's great, the beef ramen is really good. Solid spot.

Yelp
Fast casual concept with some really yummy noodles! We came on a Sunday at one and it was still pretty busy. Probably 30 minutes or so from waiting in line to actually getting food. To order they only have kiosks. It was a little confusing because the kiosk menu has slightly different names and options than the large printed menus on the wall. The menus also don't have any descriptions of what the order is. I actually had to go to the website and pretend to do an online order to see the description. For the food, we got: Saozi noodle (dry and medium heat): soo good. Really good depth of flavor and I liked the variety of texture with the pork, tofu and potatoes. The noodles are really good quality too. If you really like spicy, I'd recommend going with the extra heat (one above medium). I could have personally used a little more spice. I liked the thicker noodles and they really held onto the sauce well. Dry mix noodle (medium heat): my partner really liked this! The texture contrast was good and he really liked the pickled veggies. He liked the noodles in mine more as his were a thinner, spaghetti like noodle but it wasn't bad. You have the option of doing dine in or takeaway. We did takeaway which means they give your meal in plastic containers. If you dine in it looks like they have more paper-esque containers. Overall, really good. I wish the ordering process was a bit smoother but the food makes up for it!

Yelp
I've visited this location a few times over the last couple years The food is always good, but service has definitely gone down hill. They no longer want to take orders at the window and want you to scan a barcode to order online. I was having difficulty and only Chinese people were offered help. I know this as I was with a Chinese speaking friend who told me they were only talking to the Chinese speaking people in the restaurant. No one would help take my order. Previously, someone was always more than willing to assist or even explain the differences in menu items, sadly that is no longer the case. I've had a few different menu items and everything I have ordered has been great. I love the Saozi noodles and the wonton soup. It's a good meal at a decent price. I only wish the service would be improved back to how it used to be a year ago.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken pho combo and beef pho with cumbers and a Thai tea. What I got from uber eats was 2 chicken pho combo and NONE of the side dishes I ordered. Service was severely lacking and it took extremely long for the food to get to my door.

Yelp
Ordered to go here after shopping with my mom. Ordered the spicy salted pork chops, chicken wings, and steamed rice with salted pork bowl. The pork chops were mostly bones and very little meat. The pork bowl was very salty. Chicken wings were pretty decent

Yelp
Located in UTC, right next to Macy's, Eureka, and Veggie Grill. It's a chill, self serve kind of eatery. Order and pay at the cashier, they call your number and you pickup your order. The tables have disinfectant wipes you use to clean your table before and after you eat. Inside, all the way in the back, you can throw away your trash and put away your trays, there is inside and outdoor seating. All the food you order are given to you in ready to take home bowls/containers. Just go up and ask for a to go cap for noodles. Great noodle place! Great flavor. We've tried: 1. Chinese Mo (pork or beef): we got the beef, it was cumin beef, after adding some soy sauce, was great. 2. Liang Pi Noodles (dry) are cold noodles, they are the thicker rice noodles which I personally love. The noodles tasted really fresh. Not as flavorful as the hot dry noodles but still good. 3. Hot Dry Noodles (dry) was very tasty, enjoyed this one throughly, more flavorful than the liang pi. Also, you get a 3% discount if you pay with cash.

Yelp
We visited this store on 12/28 around 4pm. It was not busy yet. They recently raised their prices so maybe that's why they have taken down the ordering system. I ordered my food using their QR code. It's pretty easy. Most of the noodles are $15 per item now. I got the spicy liuzhou soup with extra beef shank and extra noodles. The item ended up being $19.75. I got enough noodles to share with my sister. It's an interesting noodle soup with sour beans inside. The second food item is beef noodle soup. I also added extra beef and it ended up being $19. I like the extra beef belly more than the beef shank. They called out the last 4 digits of your order number when the food was ready. We got here before dinner time so it was easy to get a table. However, when it got closer to 4:40pm. The crowd started and people started to line up to order food/wait for a table.

Yelp
This place used to be good in the beginning, very affordable and they focused on just a few specialities from the Shaanxi province in China, which isn't hugely represented in San Diego. Now prices have gone up (as they have everywhere) and quality has fallen off drastically. The wonton soup we got last weekend was basically boiled water. Their menu is now nearing Cheesecake Factory lengths with tons of "specials" taped to the wall (e.g. kung pao chicken) as they are trying to be all things to all people instead of focusing on a few things and doing them well.

Yelp
Everything is self-service here. You scan the QR to get to the menu, order, and they call your number to pick up at a window. I guess this is the future business model to survive in this ever-rising minimum wage ($20/hr. and rising) and inflation. The food ordered (Shrimp Noodle and Spicy Stir Fried Chicken) was very tasty and surprisingly authentic. This will be one of many eateries that we will frequent while shopping at UTC.

Yelp
The first time I went to this restaurant, the food and customer service was great. The second time... not so much. So my co-worker and I went to Qin West Noodle for their lunch special which included one dish and a Thai tea. The food was great. The Thai tea was not. I have attached a picture below to clearly show that this was some watered down disgusting Thai tea. It's very clear. My co-worker and I took a few sips and did not like it so we went up to the cashier to ask if it's possible to exchange it for the current batch they were making. The new batch clearly had a color difference, it looked to be much more concentrated. The cashier was EXTREMELY rude and told us there's no difference between the colors and we won't be exchanging If the cashier had been nice and polite about letting us know that it wouldn't be possible to exchange, I would totally understand and would have just drank my watered down Thai tea. But the fact that she was so rude and condescending is why this place is getting a 2 star review. I will never go back here.

Yelp
The food looked presentable but it was so salty, we couldn't even finish it. And I'm no stranger to salt, this was just over the top salty. My bf got the beef noodle soup and I got the saozi noodle soup. We also got the cucumber salad, and that was mid. Maybe we just came on a bad day, but we're never coming back. What a waste of money and calories spent.

Yelp
Good service and really an impressive lunch special. Braised beef. All this was included, no complaints. Tasty.
