The Crack Shack Is Expanding, Plus More New Openings in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Coming to the food court at Fashion Valley Mall, Qin West Noodle will be the second San Diego location for the LA-based group founded by Liyizhi Kou in 2012; after opening a Westfield UTC outpost in 2022, they’re aiming for a mid-July launch in Fashion Valley. The popular fast-casual restaurant focuses on regional Chinese food, representing provinces like Shanxi and Guangxi through a menu of noodle soups and other classic dishes." - Candice Woo

Love the noodles & mango drink! Thank you for the exceptional service. The price is reasonable for the portion. There is a charge for using credit card. No pressure for gratuity (which I truly appreciate the stress free process). The team genuinely wants you to enjoy their high quantity bowl of noodle. Highly recommend the beef noodle!

For a restaurant situated in a mall, this hidden gem ROCKS with great chinese food. After ordering a Beef Noodle Soup, I was greeted with this massive bowl of braised beef and long wide noodles that just simmered with flavor. Though they take their time making it, you cannot beat the value this place gives considering the quality of their authentic asian cuisine! Reading through the reviews, I would not recommend their dry noodle dishes but do try the Noodle soups!

When we visit Fashion Valley, I always stop by the food court, wondering what to eat. This time, I saw a new Chinese place and decided to try it! I got the dry mix noodles, crispy (salty) chicken, fried dumplings, and a red bean drink. The food turned out to be really salty, and the noodles had quite a kick, I couldn’t even finish them. The red bean drink is my mom’s favorite because it’s not too sweet, unlike milk tea, hehehe. The servers were great, but I’m not sure I’d try this place again.

UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNSANITARY. I ordered two fried rice dishes online for pickup. When I arrived, the order had not been prepared, and I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, during which I observed other customers (who ordered after I arrived for pickup) receiving their food. Iwas finally given a bag but when I brought it to the food court and opened it, I realized it was not my order. At this point I resolved not to make a fuss and just eat what was given but I returned to notify the staff so the next person wasn’t waiting. When I told the employee at the counter, she asked me “give her order back”. I complied. To add to the situation- Before I left with the order, I was told the order included a can of soda. Initially, I assumed this was a complimentary item to make up for the mistake, but then I was asked to return that as well. Beyond the delay and mix-up, the handling of the incorrect order and food exchange raised concerns about professionalism, sanitation, and food safety.

Shady Business Practices! I ordered the "Chicken Cold Noodle" (regular $14.45, small $11.95) at Qin West Noodle, and it was a huge disappointment. The noodles were tasteless, and the toppings were ridiculously sparse--basically just a bowl of cold cooked noodles. To make matters worse, it's called a "chicken" cold noodle with no chicken! When I asked about it, I was told chicken wasn't included and would cost an extra $3. The staff claimed it was similar to their "Szechuan Cold Noodle" ($10.95 + $3 for chicken), but the names and prices were completely different. Check my pictures for proof! On top of that, the $5 discount I got was just from my reward points, not a real deal. This was the worst version of this dish I've ever had. Don't waste your money here--disappointed and I won't be coming back.

We were waiting for our food for 20 min. All 3 women behind the cashier look lost, sleepy, with long messy hair out. Noodles were not cooked through. Complete lack of flavor, bland taste. Bowls look nothing like their beautiful pictures.

There was no line or anyone ahead of me, still it took 20 minutes to get a bowl of noodles. Noodles themselves were meh, not terrible, but not much flavor either. Staff was confused, all women wear long hair and no headwear to prevent their hair from getting into the food. Do not recommend
