"Get Your Dumpling On In Chinatown No, Qing Hua is not a fancy place. The ceiling is covered in harsh neon lights and the walls could use a decor upgrade. And the furniture? Nothing to write home about. Indeed, nothing at Qing Hua is fancy. But who needs frivolity when you can get what is, hands down, the best dumpling in the city? Isn't it what you came in for? Whether you opt for the fried or steamed version of this Chinese dish, you won't be disappointed. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and in fact, the tofu dumpling is one of their best-sellers. Treat yourself to an honest, simple yet extremely flavorful meal at Qing Hua. Your wallet will be thankful, and so will your taste buds."

15 Montreal Restaurants Open on Mondays - Eater Montreal

"Among Montreal’s more popular dumpling purveyors, Qing Hua is open daily for lunch and dinner in its Chinatown and downtown locations. Steamed or fried, the dumpling options are ample, but if you can’t decide on a filling, they’ll let you get two in one serving (for a small extra fee)." - Daniel Bromberg, Valerie Silva

Where to Eat Around Palais des Congrès, Montreal’s Convention Centre - Eater Montreal

"This St. Laurent mainstay is one of Chinatown’s best options for dumplings of all kinds, but especially for their xiaolongbao (soup dumplings). Pork and broth mix for a self-saucing effect of sorts, but take care not to end up with a burnt mouth from the hot liquid inside them." - Mallory Frayn

Google
A really good restaurant in Chinatown to go to when craving dumplings 😇😇 The staff is super welcoming and gracious and has the best service ever as they are always on their feet and answering questions. We started with Peanut wonton (shrimp) which were so delicious and then moved onto steamed dumplings where I had the Lamb & Green Onion dumplings while my husband had Beef & Coriander dumplings and each bite was wow ❤️❤️ So well made and juicy and our full compliments to the chef 😇😇 Cannot wait to come back to this incredible 11/10 restaurant and try other dumplings on the menu 🙏🙏

Google
Stopped here while on vacation and was recommended by a family member. The steamed dumplings are delightful, and because they are steamed, soup filled. The pan fried were good as well, but my family enjoyed the steamed more.

Google
Pretty solid dumpling places. I thought the peanut butter noodles were great. The dumplings could have a used a bit more flavour but overall great food.

Google
BRING THE PUMPKIN ONES BACK! (Yes I would love to know what happened) The others are good too (vegetarian) . The service was good and it’s always a very inviting environment. Go to spot for dumplings in mtl. Even when there’s a lot of people service is usually fast. Fair price - portion - taste

Google
This is the place I have come for dumping for a few times. The service is slow but ok, and the waiters are friendly and smiling. When you receive the dumplings it's super hot which is expected but after two minutes the skin gets rubbery and chewy which makes you think it is a reheated frozen dumpling but still the filling is juicy and yummy. Not to mention the price is still reasonable.

Google
This place has never let us down. It’s hands down one of the best dumpling spots we've ever found, and we keep coming back for more. Even during peak hours, when there’s often a wait, the staff is incredibly thoughtful. They make sure you’re seated as quickly as possible based on the size of your group, though larger parties might need a bit more patience. We’ve tasted their shrimp soup and hot and sour soup, and both were delicious. They also serve some truly authentic spring rolls. As for the dumplings, we've tried both steamed and pan-fried, but the steamed ones have won our hearts. Our all-time favorites are the chicken coriander and curry chicken dumplings. If you can’t decide between steamed and fried, you can even get a half-and-half order for just 50 cents extra. If you find yourself downtown or near Chinatown, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Google
It was cold and rainy today so what a perfect time to have a wonton soup and dumplings. The soup was good but a bit oily for me, however the shrimp dumplings on the soup were so tiny hahaha. I also got the dumplings surprise which they say have a minimum of five varieties on their menu. I’m pretty sure I got the chicken and corn, shrimp and the rest I wasn’t too sure but nonetheless they were all very yummy. I grew up in Asia, ate lots of dumplings and I would say this place makes one of the best dumplings I’ve eaten in my life! The wrapper of each dumplings was just perfect for me (not too thick and not too thin). Each of the dumpling is bite size pieces and they’re easy to pick up with chopsticks/spoon.

Google
As a self-proclaimed dumpling aficionado, I couldn’t resist stopping by Qing Hua Dumpling in Chinatown Montreal for dinner. Known for their fresh dumplings made to order, this spot is a go-to for many, and I finally had the chance to see what the hype was all about. We ordered the Chef’s Special Dumplings and the classic Shrimp, Pork, and Chive Dumplings. Let me start with the standout: the shrimp dumplings. These were everything I could hope for—plump, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The shrimp and pork combo was perfectly balanced, with the chives adding that subtle aromatic kick. The dumpling skin was the right thickness, holding the filling together without overpowering the bite. Absolute perfection! Now, onto the Chef’s Special. Unfortunately, this one didn’t live up to the name. While the dumplings were good, they lacked the wow factor I was expecting, especially compared to the shrimp dumplings. The flavors were a bit muted, and I kept wishing for that extra pop that never came. A bonus point? They accept cashless payments, which makes the whole experience more convenient! Pro tip: Stick with the classics here—they’re classics for a reason. The shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings are definitely worth the trip. Pair them with their house-made dipping sauce, and you’re in for a treat. Overall, Qing Hua Dumpling delivers on quality and freshness, but some dishes shine brighter than others. Highlight: Shrimp, Pork, and Chive Dumplings Would I come back? For those shrimp dumplings? 100% yes!

Yelp
If you want quick and delicious dumplings - I highly recommend. Service was great. It was crowded but no wait and satisfying. You don't come here for the ambiance but that's the fun.
google avatar

Yelp
Um, yes- the quantity of dumplings in an order is impressive. To me, the veggie filling was tasteless. Hubby enjoyed his chicken ones more. Probably better suited if you eat meat. Place was not very clean, tables were dirty. Service was fine - too many other options to return here though.

Yelp
We arrived after 9pm to our hotel nearby and discovered that the kitchen was closed at many nearby restaurants. We luckily caught this place before the kitchen closed, and we are so glad we did! We tried pork and green onion pan fried and chicken and coriander and chicken and cabbage steamed and all were delicious. Fresh, juicy, and really well priced. We're here for a week and my kids are already asking if we can eat there again!

Yelp
Amazing dumplings are the reason that you will probably waiting any time you visit this place. There is no bad choice on the menu so I recommend being adventurous and trying a sample of all the different types.

Yelp
Fantastic dumplings! Some of the best dumplings I've had and I visit Philadelphia's Chinatown. The pickled cabbage and pork dumplings were so tasty. The cabbage popped and a nice acid taste to contrast the soy I was dipping. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. Great spot in Montreal.

Yelp
Around dinnertime it is packed as it's one of the few restaurants in chinatown that closes reasonably late. The place had minimalistic decorations as it was mostly bare. We were still quick to get a table and the menu had a variety of dumplings. I had the chicken and cabbage dumplings and it wasn't too bad. I did get tired halfway through but it was worth the cheap price! It tasted very authentic and even had some soup inside. Perfect for a late night cheap bite!

Yelp
Great place for dumplings. Came here for dumplings and was very busy on a Thursday night. The waiters were quick and the menu is extensive. I've honestly not seen so many filling options even in the SF bay area. I ordered pork with cilantro, pork with onion and lamb with cilantro. The food came out in about 15min and we took 2 steamed and 1 fried. Strange, they don't boil them. Each portion is 15 dumplings for about 12cad, which is super cheap (considering the exchange rate) The dumplings were great, the outside was thin and ripe and the inside has the juice (benefit of not boiling). Great place overall, not sure why we were the only Asian people in there, but glad to see locals enjoying Chinese food.

Yelp
Very yummy dumplings, visit each time we visit!!! The steam dumplings are perfect!!!

Yelp
Qing Hua Dumpling is our back up plan from the first dumpling place with only cash. Qing Hua Dumpling accept Credit card so it is more convenient for us. Service is very smart with less worker but super clever waiter. Portion of food is pretty big so after we have soup and salad we start to fill up and have little room for dumpling.

Yelp
REALLY good vegetarian options. You can't go wrong with any of them. Portions were larger than we thought so we had plenty of leftovers.

Yelp
They have lots of vegetarian (and vegan) options for their dumplings, so I gave them a shot for lunch. I ordered a cucumber salad ($5.99 plus tax) to start, and then some steamed dumplings ($12.99 plus tax) -- you can split your order into 2 kinds of dumplings for $0.50 extra. I got the tofu & vegetables, and cabbage, mushroom and vermicelli ones. The cucumbers came out within a few minutes. Not exactly authentic Szechuan cucumbers, as they should be spicier and have other ingredients (e.g., cilantro). Still tasty, but not worth the money for something so simple I can easily whip up at home. 3/5 The dumplings, however, were really good, and came out in under 10 minutes. They serve them in the container they steam them in, so they're super fresh. Both varieties I tried were tasty, especially the cabbage one. For sauce, they have a delectable homemade chili oil, as well as soy sauce and vinegar. This served as a nice dipping sauce for the dumplings. Very tasty. A tad pricy compared to other dumpling spots in Chinatown, but I appreciate their vegetarian / vegan options. Very friendly, caring service. Great dumpling spot. Recommended.

Yelp
Unfortunately rain crashed my last day of vacation in Montréal. After visiting the Biodome and freezing in the Uber, this was within walking of the hotel for lunch. I tried the chicken curry dumplings, hot and sour soup, and marinated cucumbers. Everything was so warming to the soul. Lovely meal.

Salma N.

Yelp
While the food was amazing the waitress was outstandingly rude, stressed us out to order, didn't listen and put an empty container on the table without talking to me when I asked to take the rest of my dumplings. I highly recommend the restaurant but definitely avoid the waitress. The other guy was AMAZING.

Yelp
THIS PLACE SERVES MOSTLY DIMSUM varieties on their menu. I guess place is famous, people lined up during peak hours while we were dining. They have a high chair. Space is tight. Spacing between tables are close. No parking, find a parking area yourself. Serving time is fair but servers looks like have a communication problem so you need to clarify first your order to avoid any headache. They accept major credit cards.food taste is fair for me since i tasted different dimsum cooking.

Eric P.

Yelp
Ordered the hot and sour soup: which ate better as I went along. Spring rolls, tasty with almost a funnel cake consistency. And the shrimp and pork dumplings - just add chili oil, vinegar, soy.. huzzah

Yelp
dumpling surprise includes 15 dumplings for a fair price! love the experience of figuring out what ingredients were comibined. the soup dumplings & panfries dumpling were juicy. i love finding the perfect bite by adding chili oil & vinegar and each flavor combo was immaculate. If you're craving a genre of food but not sure what to try, having chef's special is the way to go. great first place to try in chinatown montreal for me :)

Yelp
So many amazing types of dumplings, so little time. Massive 15 piece portions. Worth the wait.

Yelp
Surprise dumpling mix of 5 different kinds Couldn't decide so went with the surprise but should of picked my own as I still couldn't figure out what was what.. Oh well, it's ok not the best but not bad Value 4/5 Atmosphere 3/5 Service 2/5 Quality 3/5 12/20

Yelp
Decided to explore Montreal's Chinatown. This restaurant was in Lonely Planet's guidebook. I got the Dumpling surprise which is a Chef's choice of 15 mixed dumplings. There should be a minimum of 5 types of dumplings. I also got the green tea. The dumplings came steaming hot to my table in a bamboo steamer. I can only distinguish the lamb, pork with mushrooms and the curry chicken. The rest, I don't know what I ate. I felt that the dumplings had too must wrapping and not enough filling.
google avatar

Yelp
Walking through Chinatown can be overwhelming because there's so many options on where to eat. So with a craving for dumplings we searched and stoped in at Quing Hua. The staff was friendly and greeted us right away and had us seated. The inside of the restaurant was clean and all safety measures were taken to ensure we would be able to eat our meal safely and comfortably. The menu has quite a few options regardless of your preference in proteins. For 1$ more you can get 2 kinds instead of having to settle for 1 filling. We ended up trying dill and chicken, cabbage and veggies and mushrooms. The dumplings were steamed to perfection and tasted amazing. We also got the marinated cucumbers and these were a game changer so refreshing and lights and tangy and sweet! It's a must try on your next visit here.

Yelp
Not bad. First few are great, got tired of them quick. Maybe I'm not a huge dumpling guy.

Yelp
Fast service. Lots of options. Huge portions. And delicious dumplings. What else could you want???

Yelp
After a great night at Comiccon 4 friends and myself decided to grab something to eat as we were starving and you can't go wrong with dumplings. There was about a 7 minutes wait which flew by as we were all chatting. After we sat down it did take sometime to get the menus and water but the place is super busy so understandable. I started off with a beer some peanut butter dumplings and than we shared a million dumplings (5x15 plates of dumplings) lol I enjoyed the peanut butter dumplings has a tad bit of spice but nothing you can't handle. The tofu and shrimp dumplings were great and I would never usually order that but they were delicious. Shrimp and pork were fantastic as well. We ended up spending a few hours there laughing and sharing stories and stuffing our faces and of course still had 15 dumplings left over to take home. If you haven't been you gotta try it :)
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
I ordered the spring rolls and a half and half of beef curry and lamp with cilantro. The spring rolls were bad. Tasteless and not particularly fresh. Our dumplings despite being PIPING hot, didn't have quite the right consistency of the outer shell, it was still a little rubbery. The beef curry filling was good - the lamb was a little bland - even with the side sauce which looks spicy, but isn't

Yelp
My boyfriend after a long day out decided to do take out and take it back to our suite. When we arrived to the location, it took some time before we were greeted. The boyfriend ordered two sets of dumplings, one pork, shrimp and leek and another, pork and corn. He asked how long roughly it will take, we were told about 15-20 minutes. OH BOY... were they ever wrong with their timing. I noticed there were tons of customers losing their patients and as for me, I was trying really hard not to start a fuss. The staff are super friendly and nice, but when it comes to productivity, a huge miss.

Yelp
We went to the Chinatown location for lunch--it was busy but we were seated in about 5 minutes. We ordered two types of steamed dumplings and each had soup. The food was DELICIOUS. It was the perfect amount for three of us. The employees were very friendly and efficient. We'd go back.

Ana C.

Yelp
I recently went there again and they were horrible. The pasta for the dumplings was hard. Cucumber salad ok. Also I hated they use disposable plates.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
I ordered the surprise dumpling which consist of the chef choices. I wasn't disappointed at the quality of the food but I guess I should have chosen what I wanted because I end up eating the egg version of the dumplings more than other flavors. Also, I ordered the cold noodles with peanut sauce which was delicious but I wish it has vegetables in it. Overall experience, the cashier was nice and courteous. I will definitely come back for the dumplings.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm no expert on dumplings but color me impressed. This place is rocking with a long wait line that stretched all the way into the street. Good sign for things to come, I guess. Service was going at it hard. These guys are going table to table all night long and doing the best they can. Despite it being so busy, tables were spotless. Floors were clean and they were organized. We went with one set of steamed beef coriander and one fried pork plus cabbage. 2 plates, 15 dumplings each for less than $20 with tax. Excellent deal. The kitchen staff were pretty quick rolling these up and within 10 minutes we got SERVED with these sexy looking dumplings and we went to work on them. I must have a magician in my previous life because I can make delicious things disappear with no effort. Real good dumplings. Would revisit again for sure.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
From the sounds of it, this place is either hit or miss, but in my case, it was a great experience. We were seated quickly, and while it did take a few minutes to get our order taken, the dumplings came out quick. I ordered the shrimp-leek-pork dumplings and then an order of lamb and coriander dumplings. Both steamed. The dumplings were ready in around 15 minutes, and delivered to the table. Each order is a good portion and will easily fill you. There are additives for flavor at the tables. A little bit of hot chili sauce, a little soy, a little splash of vinegar and stir that around.... oh yeah, real nice. I felt the soup was lacking a bit, and it wasn't nearly as hot as I was expecting, but they were still decent dumplings on their own. A great spot for quick and cheap eats in China Town, Montreal.
google avatar

Xena W.

Yelp
Qing Hua Dumplings in Montreal's Chinatown offers many vegan options. I had a mix of the cabbage, mushroom, and vermicelli dumplings + the wood earm, zucchini, and vermicelli dumplings. You can get them steamed (which I like better because they're softer) or pan-fried. Service is quick and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. I have no complaints.
google avatar

Annabelle N.

Yelp
The actual taste of the dumpling was ok but the skin was so so thick and there was not much soup inside. The service was horrible. My friend and i ordered 2 different types of steam dumplings. First of all it took over 20min to get the first basket and another 15min for the second. By the time my friend got her dumpling mine was Cold and the skin became dry. Then we asked for water that never came and spoons took 3 requests to bring them. Not sure I'll be back..
google avatar

Yelp
Bare-bones restaurant but delicious, tender and flavorful dumplings. Lots of different dumpling filling choices.
google avatar

Issan Z.

Yelp
Qing Hua in Chinatown is the only place I go to for dumplings. I've been there many, many times, and will without a doubt go again. They've recently revamped the interior - it's very much improved! There's a bar at the entrance, which is also where you pay at the end of the meal. They changed all the tables, lamps and chairs, and bought new tableware. We went there for lunch today at 12h sharp. It was mostly empty, but tables started filling up as soon as we ordered (we don't even need to look at the menu anymore - we just get lamb/coriander and pork/coriander, both steamed). The food came soon after. The dumplings were hot and delicious, as usual. There seemed to be a little less soup than before, but maybe it was just that batch? We finished our meal in a record time and were out of there at 12h33. Look no further for good dumplings!

Yelp
It could take a PhD dissertation to explain from thorough social and economic reasons why the Chinese foods in Montreal always taste better than in New York, even in Flushing. This dumpling place provides so many filling options that are so common in Chinese households but rarely available in the restaurants in the US, like, the full variety of choices with cilantro. God, my favorite. They also provide the options between steamed dumplings and boiled dumplings. Sadly, as authentic Chinese, we couldn't tell the difference at all.
google avatar

Jamie N.

Yelp
Since our first choice for dumplings was closed, we decided to stop in here. Upon entrance, the establishment was quiet with an employee passed out on the table. Sprawled across the table, the day must have taken its toll...I have to admit, it was pretty hot that day. As we awkwardly stood at the entrance, another employee came from the kitchen and directed us to our seats lol. Once seated, menus and water was provided. Dehydrated, I drank the water in one shot, but refills are hard to come by unless you ask, which I made sure to do so! As we reviewed our options, you get three choices on how you get your dumplings served: steamed, boiled or pan-fried. We settled on steamed pork/leek dumplings and per our server's recommendation, pan-fried lamb/leek dumplings. She said it's her preference and that it's popularly served that way. Okay, sure! to balance the amount of meats, we also got a cucumber salad on the side. Portion servings for the dumplings are plenty. There's about 12 dumplings each and they are filled with a decent amount of meat with some soup. Definitely eat with caution since the soup will spray everywhere if you don't, which just leaves you a hot mess. If you like the flavor of lamb, you'll appreciate this one since it distinctively tastes of lamb. The pan-fried dumplings had a nice seared bottom, but it didn't have the crisp texture I was hoping for. Regardless, they were really good. Condiments are provided on the table, but it's just soy sauce, black vinegar and chili oil. I was hoping for the chili paste since I think that would have been more suitable to my preferences, but the ginger from the marinated cucumber salad (similar to that of cucumber kimchi) provided a bit of the heat I was looking for. Overall, the meal was great, but not the best. Service was a tad slow, but we also came through during an off time, which was right around 4-5pm. What I do appreciate is the portion in comparison to price. Two sets of dumpling was a little much, but one would have not been enough. Come hungry.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! One order has 15 dumplings! Husband and I ordered the Chicken & Coriander dumplings and they were by far the best we have ever had. Everyone at the table ordered different kind of dumplings and were super satisfied by their meals. Would highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Great portion of dumplings! Cannot wait to go back! Good quality food and service. Qing Hua lives up to its fame ! Thankfully!

Adrienna Y.

Yelp
The article posted on their front door is no lie-- Qing Hua IS dumpling heaven. Don't let their current 3.5 star rating fool you!! Most of the harsh ratings come from complaints about the service being slow. I admit, Qing Hua could be speedier, but the reason for the delay is that they fill and fold your freshly steamed pouches of goodness to order ! This makes the place totally worth it, especially since the dumplings are amazing. Each pouch was steamed to perfection, with skin so thin that you could see what they were filled with from the outside. When bitten into, a delightful spurt of juices trickled out. These are definitely not soup dumplings aesthetically speaking, but with the amount of juice you get, they might as well be! My absolute favorite ones are the chive and shrimp, but I guarantee that you won't go wrong no matter which fillings you choose. I would say that Qing Hua's forte are the steamed dumplings. The fried ones we got just seemed to need a bit more time, but that was perhaps more a consequence of it being close to closing than an oversight on cooking time on their part. I'd be more than willing to give their fried dumplings a second chance. Again, service may be slow, but keep in mind that there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this--they're FRESH. You're also in Chinatown which means you can't expect service to be the priority. Moreover, the space is inviting, the portions are generous (15 dumplings/order) and the quality of their dumplings is unparalleled. I only wish I lived closer so I could stop by whenever my dumplings craving hit! Lastly, the fact that I'm writing this review not more than an hour after I've left is testament to how great I think this place is. You'd be remiss to skip out on it!!
google avatar

HanDan W.

Yelp
Very freshly made dumplings. And service is fast Though you could skip the wonton soup. It was just so-so.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Decent dumplings; the skins were a little on the thicker side and I would've preferred ones that are not as thick. Good amount of variety on the menu, and good appetizer options like the cucumber salad.

Yelp
I didn't expect to crave dumplings on a trip to Montreal but I couldn't help myself when I passed by! LOCATION&DECOR: 4/5 On St Laurent Blvd on the edge of Chinatown. Very convenient when visiting old Montreal. The restaurant is spacious and has lots of tables, and most importantly, seems pretty clean. FOOD: 4/5 Menu consists of mainly dumplings in 3 forms: steamed, boiled, and fried. Starting at $8.99 for 15 dumplings, this place is a steal! They have a ton of different varieties too (probably 30?), instead of the standard just pork & leek. My only complaint is that they don't seal the dumplings too well (probably because of the speed they make them at), so the soup sometimes spills out before you even pick them up. SERVICE: 3/5 Getting seated is fast, but flagging down a server to take your order and waiting for you food takes a while. A group sitting next to us got so fed up with the service they just left. You come to places like this for the food and not the service. This is a great stop for a Montreal food tour/late night bite!
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
One of the best dumpling places in Montreal! It's right in Chinatown, just across from the famous noodle/grocery store place. Not a whole lot of room inside, but enough to fit a large party if needed. We had a huge group of over 30 people and they managed to accomodate us! We worked out our orders and let them know ahead of time, to make things easier. It did take quite some time nonetheless before we were served, and we obviously didn't get our orders at the same time (in fact, some of us had finished eating and still not everyone had gotten their order), but it's to be expected since they probably don't have that many staff or stove space to do a mass order. There were a few order mix ups but no real issues. On to the food - these were some goooood dumplings. They definitely made me homesick for my mama's cooking...she's a Northerner Chinese woman and she's spoiled me with delicious handmade dumplings growing up...and these dumplings reminded me of hers. They were huge and plump- they definitely don't skimp on fillings. I got the lamb and shrimp, and there is a whole small shrimp in each dumpling, which is a nice surprise. The skins were nice and chewy and of the slightly thicker variety, and were clearly handmade - none of those flimsy floppy storebought wrappers here!My only complaint is that not all my dumplings had soup inside, and some were sadly deflated. Having that delicious soup gush into your mouth in a savory burst of flavor as you bite down is honestly the best part of steamed dumplings...and sadly only about 50% of my dumplings had that. Not to say the others were dry - they were still well cooked and plenty tasty, just a bit disappointing. There are condiments offered: chili oil (it tasted like laoganma), black vinegar, and soy sauce. I'd skip it next time, since the dumplings were already flavorful on their own. Next time I'd like to try the pork and cuttlefish or the beef curry fillings, and maybe get the panfried variety. I'd recommend you to bring a friend - the more people, the more dumplings flavors you can get and try!

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a girl I use to work with. She stated the dumplings here were to die for. My group and I ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings and the lamb and chive dumplings, both steamed. Each order contained 15 dumplings. Keep in mind, these dumplings are not XLB (xiao long baos) and if you are expecting XLB then you may be disappointed. The steamed dumplings were amazing in flavour and the skin was done perfectly. Juices flowed from every dumpling that were eaten. The key was to take a small bite and then sip the juices before eating the rest. Beer is cheap there too. The only downside is the service; it's very minimal and comparable to a lot of other Chinese restaurants.

Yelp
The service is fast and the food is great. We came here on a Friday night after a late show and were not disappointed. We were immediately seated without a reservation and began ordering. There were two of us, so we ordered the cucumber salad, the chicken and mushroom dumplings, and the pork and shrimp dumplings. The cucumber salad was a bit weird and not what we expected, but tasty nonetheless. The dumplings were perfection. We absolutely loved them.

Yelp
A must-try in the Montreal food scene. Over 50 types of dumpling ranging from vegetarian to lamb. An order of dumplings comes with 15 per order and one order typically ranges $10-13 depending on fillings. You can order your dumplings steamed or fried. I recommend one order of each style. Lamb and beef are better fried while the seafood and vegetarian are better steamed. We had shrimp with zucchini, beef with coriander, lamb with green onion, and oyster with pork and pickled cabbage. All were SO GOOD! Previous reviews said cash only but we had no issue with our cards. Perhaps depends on your carrier.

Yelp
good dumpling. The restaurant was busy and clean. Since I had better Dumpling back in Toronto, all I can give this restaurant is a three star. But i think this restaurant is worth a try. I have ordered a dish that have five different dumplings but can't really taste the difference. So, I recommend you just order one kind of dumpling to save a few dollars. The soup was worth the try as well.

Yelp
We stopped here after the Montreal Pride parade, What can I say for 10$ you get a lovely steaming plate of dim sum that will make you want more and more. We took 3 different types all were wonderful.

Yelp
Asian food and Montreal isn't exactly the first thing I thought of when I went to visit! Walked in to get some nice dumplings on a cold fall day. It took almost 15 minutes to flag down someone to take our order and even some tables who came in after us got their orders in before us, which was disappointing (we kept trying to get someones attention). The dumplings finally arrived after a few minutes (likely they are steamed fresh) and thankfully they were very good and juicy! There's an extra charge for pan fried dumplings (they are regularly served steamed).

Yelp
Lets talk about this 1 star in both service aspect and food aspect: Food: If you go for lunch, order from the lunch menu, the appetizers are smaller portion but the dumplings are same portion but cheaper! They recommended the leek/pork/shrimp dumplings, but honestly I tasted 0% of leek inside. That was just frustrating. Their wonton soup is tiny, four tiny wontons in a tiny bowl and they charge for 4 dollars....... you can do better....... The cucumber appetizer was extremely soggy, the flavor is great but I can clearly feel the cucumber is so not fresh and prob has been in a jar for weeks. Service: It is EXTREMELY slow, u basically have to sit there for 40 minutes min to wait for one plate of 15 dumplings to be boiled. I have made dumplings before, it took 5 minutes to wrap them and 10 minutes to boil. When we just sat down and ordered, there were only 2 tables in the restaurant so what took so long? Dumplings are supposed to be something we eat out of convenience, it should be fast and hearty, but all I remembered was waiting and waiting and waiting. There were only 2 waitresses and one waiter there, I am going to call them waitress A,B and waiter C, B and C were flirting for the entire time so they left A to do everything by herself. It is not exactly a busy day for them but still lots of tables to be served, we needed to leave soon for a bus so I asked B if I can pay now, she just sat there and said "just go stand at the cashier counter in front of the place and wait, someone will come out". 5 MINUTES PASSED NO ONE CAME. I HAD TO PERSONALLY GO TO THE KITCHEN TO GET A TO COME TO LET ME PAY. Also, throughout the entire time we ate there, waitress B knocked 3 different dishes/cups on the floor... I know they are plastic but clearly she wasn't paying any attention while cleaning, how do I know the dish I was eating out of was clean? anyways, would NOT GO BACK.
