I was coaching at a basketball tournament at Salesian, and had a couple hours in between. Did a quick search on Yelp and lucked out in finding Q's.
Looking for the place and then a spot to park, it's a little bit sketchy of a neighborhood. But that's where some of the best restaurants are situated.
When I got there, the owner and his daughter were working. I told them it was my first time and what would they recommend. The daughter recommended the chicken gyro, the dad recommended the beef/lamb gyro, so I went with that. I told them I wanted to see if it was really 5 stars, if it was, I would review them and if not, I wouldn't, because I don't wanna be the guy that ruins their perfect rating lol.
Well to my pleasant surprise, I was able to confirm it was a legit 5 stars. Very high quality ingredients, fresh, attention to detail in the preparation and presentation. Even the waffle fries were really good, which was an afterthought while ordering.
I told them I've traveled the world, had Mediterranean food in Greece, Turkey, Halal food
In NY, LA and SF. Their food is right there for authenticity, and deserve to be recognized.
To top it off, the people are so warm, genuine and friendly. You can tell they have real character and are in the business because they want to make people happy. That's what it should be all about, but sadly,'only a few really get that.
I'm excited to try their pizza and wings next time, and other items on their menu. It was so good in fact, that I actually even asked the owner about franchise opportunities... so there you have it.
