It was very difficult for me to come up with a star rating to be 100% honest. Let me preface this by saying, I would return to Qua, but I do have some complaints about my experience. Overall, my massage was good, and I would try this location again to see if I could have a better experience next time around.
I booked my appointment around 1130am for the same day, at 115pm. I arrived at 110pm and no one was at the front desk, there were many signs saying to use quiet voices, so I didn't want to shout or make sounds. It took a few minutes but eventually someone came out of a room. My masseuse explained their system was down but she would be happy to still see me. I was thankful but a little weary.
Overall, the massage was really good. I have one "big" complaint and 3 "small" complaints. My first complaint was that my masseuse stopped a few times to either text someone or change her personal music. This was honestly kind of annoying esp when she was massaging my left leg, she stopped at least 3 times to change a song (I assume) or to do something else. It broke me from my relaxation and just didn't feel good. It happened multiple times.
My smaller complaints were:
1) Her hand massaging was great and loved the pressure. When she massaged me with her arm it felt more like she was rubbing lotion on me than anything else. She did it a lot on my back and it just felt like nothing. I'd say maybe 60% of my massage was very enjoyable, 20% was just annoying / I hated it, and the other 20% was just ok? It actually made me annoyed because she would push her elbow in, make a twisting/flicking motion, pause and not move for what felt like minutes, and then make a light and slow motion of spreading lotion on my back. This along with her not hearing me because of her airpods a few times, I was annoyed. I've had many many massages and I've never had this elbow flicking experience before
2) After my back portion of the massage, my back was cleaned with a warm towel. This was nice, but oddly, she left the wet towel on my back, then put the sheets and blanket on top of the wet towel, and then proceeded to massage my right leg. Well, that warm towel quickly became cold and now I was uncomfortably having this cold and wet towel over my back. It was really strange. Like, I get if I were getting extractions why you may do this, but no massage I've experience in the past has left a wet towel on me, assuming to leave on me for half of the massage? Once again, never had this happen in any other massage experience, what was the point of leaving the towel on my back? I asked her to take it off before she proceeded to my next leg.
3) When she started my massage, she did not reposition my leg pillow. When I flipped over to lay on my back, she did not give me a neck pillow or cover my eyes with a towel - details that honestly really do matter if you're paying $100+ per hour for a massage.
Overall the woman who massaged me was really sweet and I did enjoy my massage. I debated between a 2, 3, and 4 star review. I just think I would like to try another masseuse here and see if I could have a more professional experience. The walking away to adjust music or message someone is not ok for a spa experience
Last note, because their system was down, they had to take a photo of my credit card and their boss / manager charged me from somewhere else. I did it because well...what other choice did I have if I didn't have cash at that moment?...and so far no weird charges, but it was a sketch first experience. I trust they won't steal my info but still, a photo of my credit card is floating out there and that just is unnecessary
