Google
I think an underrated gem. Cute little bar near Powells with great bartenders, good drink deals, and solid pizza slices. Can be slow at times, but a nice place to start the evening or grab a couple of drinks and then totter over to Powells to peruse some literature.

Google
Kin (Kim?) was great. Total sweetheart, happy to be here. Clear they love their job. Pizza was good, but the drinks were spectacular.

John V.

Google
Awesome little bar right next to Sizzle Pie so you can get slices here. Our bar tender was awesome and we happened to be there during a happy hour so drinks and pizza were super cheap. Loved visiting here and would definitely go back. Powell’s books is just across from it too and the Cart Blocks not too far away.

Google
Easily the most underrated bar in Portland. This place has the best bartenders in town. Kin and Amy have made some of the best cocktails I’ve treated myself to and they’re so knowledgeable. Even better that they’re partnered with or owned by sizzle pie next door so you can get a nice slice of pizza or garlic knots to enjoy too.

I wandered in right at last call but the bartender was nice enough to make me the "about a girl", his own recipe and it was spectacular! The pizza from next door was absolutely some of the best I've had in years. This is a place I would definitely return to when I come back to visit the city. I'm just sad I ended up there at closing because I wanted to try the other cocktails and some more pizza! I'll be back!

Google
I was making my occasional trip to Portland and dropped way too much money on books and vinyl downtown. We needed a slice and some booze. I hadn't been in Sizzle for years, but the punk rock lured me in. Good pizza, great soundtrack. Friendly atmosphere.

Google
Chandler and Kin provided exceptional service! Delicious draft options and incredible vegan pizza. Highly recommend the “New Maps Out of Hell”

Neal

Google
A fantastic no-frills bar where you can order pizza from Sizzle Pie next door. The pizza was great, and there was a wide selection of beers and drinks. A bunch of quirky touches around the bar and a central location makes this place a great hangout spot.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place and the service was fast and the ambiance was decent. I recommend coming here in the evenings.

Yelp
A Hidden Gem on Our Bar Hop! We're visiting from Los Angeles and decided to spend the day exploring local bars and this one truly stood out. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was amazing!!. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The vibe is welcoming, the energy is great, and it's easily been our favorite stop so far. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill spot with genuine vibes :-)

Yelp
Really cute spot! Loved the decor, music, and overall ambiance. I ordered a cocktail and was a little disappointed with how artificially sweet it was, but it might have been my fault for ordering a cocktail at a place like this. My boyfriend had two beers and loved them both. Bartenders were really nice, willing to chat if you wanted to but also willing to leave you alone too if that's what you prefer. We both really enjoyed our time here!

Yelp
Quality bar is indeed pretty quality! The ambience is casual but modern and clean. I love the high ceiling and hanging lights. Drinks menu is creative yet affordable, especially during happy hour when you get $1 off. You can also get pizza slices from Sizzle Pie next door, for $3 during happy hour which is a steal! The Whiskey River drink was strong and slightly sweet but still very refreshing. I also enjoyed my slice of the Magic Dance. Crispy base and well-seasoned toppings.

Yelp
My friend and I were in the area and wanted a beer before we got back on the bus so we stopped by after visiting Powell's. The atmosphere was interesting because the music played was Nickelback and similar. I couldn't tell if it was ironic or not after talking to the bartender but the beer was average and clearly not a priority with a lot of cocktail specials. Would go back but only if it was a necessity.

Yelp
Somehow I often find myself stopping here on trips to Portland. We do a lot of walking around when we visit and often need a place to stop off for a drink and a bathroom while we are out and about. This location seems very central to many things and is usually not so crowded that you can't find a place to sit. They have good beer choices and a full bar. Sometimes we need a snack and a slice of pizza fills this need nicely. It's also not too bad for people watching if you get a window seat. I love that this bar is connected to Sizzle Pie as this is one of my favorite places to get a meal when I'm in town. I've been very sad about the Sizzle Pie closing in Seattle, quite a few years back now, but this may be the exact spot that my love affair first started. I admit I try to go to all the locations though, not certain if I have an actual favorite. My partner wears his Sizzle Pie Piece by Piece t shirt nearly every week. They just have a cool vibe overall. I love the variety of vegan slice options and I always get the garlic knots with the vegan ranch. I almost always kick myself for getting the 6 instead of the 12. My partner always eyes them wantingly, but seems to never speak up when I ask for his help in deciding how many to order. I tried them with buffalo sauce on my last visit, also recommend. I don't have a favorite vegan slice, but usually opt for one of each of whatever is available, they're all good. I wanted to try the special on my most recent trip but neglected to notice that the slice was only available on Tuesdays. My partner enjoys that they have meat and cheese as well.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest bars I've ever been to. The staff are friendly and attentive. The pizza from the Sizzle Pie next door is hot and delicious. The vibe is just excellent. I'm from the other side of the country, and know no one in this city, yet it truly felt like I was in the company of old friends. Jasmin and Cody were awesome! Plus they have great music, and they play some really obscure, cool, old/cult classic/foreign movies on a projector beaming onto the wall. The last time I went in they had the movie Labyrinth playing, accompanied by some 80's synth pop on the stereo. I knew I was in the right place! If you enjoy weird movies, cool people, good pizza, and $3 cold cans of Rainier, then you simply cannot go wrong here!

Yelp
This place is super cool inside. I love the art posters, and their vendor where you can but magic prizes, where they're like cheap cute little toys or something. I never got anything from there, but that's what it looked like. The drinks are yummy and very good. I had their special which was strawberry fields. It was super refreshing and yummy. Their beers are definitely of greet quality. The bathroom was clean as well. The music was a little loud but once you get tipsy it's all good! They serve sizzle pizza since it's right next door. I'm so glad I came, I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
The pizza has been a long- time favorite of ours but unfortunately the quality dropped the past couple years. But the general atmosphere has always brought us back. But tonight's visit may be our last. The bartender who is usually there now moves so incredibly slow ( not a derogatory comment - just factual observation). This seems to be a pattern and I just can't see dealing with that visit after visit. The atmosphere has changed unfortunately.

Yelp
We stopped in on Monday around 4 for a quick drink. It wasn't super busy, but there were at least a handful of people there. The place has a cool layout and plenty of seating. It looks like they have good pizza with vegetarian and vegan options. We each got a well drink. The bartender took his time and did a good job. My favorite part was honestly the vending machine. I got a sweet Dolly Parton button and my sister got a pair if Loch Ness Monster earrings and some Britney Spears tarot cards. If I was in the area again I'd stop back in for a drink.

Yelp
I love Portland, its pretty chill and can always count on it for new and weird things. Group of girls and I were in town and tried looking for some quality pizza, and we got it! Their slizes are huge. Their alcoholic beverages are okay. They have outside seating during sunny days so thats a plus. No A/C during summer, only fans. Pretty nice spot to explore once inside. Kind of reminded me of new york style pizzas!

Yelp
Quality bar with not so quality staff. After working a full time job our family grub hubs to earn extra money. Tonight we we're picking up an order parked outside of Quality bar. My husband who was driving took my three year old potty while I was alone in the car in the passenger seat. It's dark out and a random man comes up to my car from the curb. Me not wanting to roll down my window (for safety) I say "no thank you" he continues to talk to me. This man was beyond persistent. I was scared but finally realized he was asking for the parking spot. By then I told him no thank you hoping he would walk away, this made him upset. He started yelling "who the fuck are you?!" At my window leaning on my car. I started honking on the car to get some help and all the patrons and bar tenders just watched. I called my husband to hurry back by this time the guy comes back with a bartender and bouncer (I'm assuming.) I yelled for help and the bartender of quality bar just told us to leave and that would solve the problem after I told him what had happened. He said "I'm not here to figure out who's right or wrong." Backing up that man who said he was just drinking there and knows owners there (he yelled all this info at me through the window). The bar tender allowed the harassment of a woman. Unsafe place. They walked with the guy in support.

Yelp
First and foremost, this is a dive bar. And if you think it's wrong to write a 5-star review on a dive bar, then I have nothing to say to you. I had the pleasure of going to Portland every week a couple of months ago. On my first night there, the 5 of us (my coworkers) came to the Quality Bar after friending a couple of dudes on Oak St. They told us they were going here and didn't mind if we tag along. Portlanders are so friendly! As soon as we stepped inside, amidst the heavy metal heart thumping music, I overheard someone ordering a shot of Suntory. They have Japanese whiskies! I'll take what she's having, except make mine a double, easy on the ice, please. No nonsense. No table service at all. You order everything at the bar, including those delicious pizzas from Sizzle Pie. Once the pizzas are ready, the bartender brings them to your table. Conversation I had with one of my coworkers after multiple rounds. Found out she's a fellow Yelper. She asked how many stars I would give this place. I said, "No less than 5." She scoffed and said, "You don't give a dive bar a 5-star review!" Then she rolled her eyes at me! Wth. My response (after multiple rounds), "You need to step down from your high horse, little missy." I mean, seriously? The following week I was on my way to Powell's Books and passed this place. Surprised to see they were open for lunch and they had lunch specials. The one that caught my eye was: $10 for a slice of any pizza + salad + an ADULT beverage. What a great deal! Powell's Books would have to wait! It was a really satisfying lunch for only $10. Heavy metal was still playing in the background. Nothing like banging my head in the middle of the afternoon. Good times! I continued to visit Quality Bar every week that month. So if you like heavy metal/punk music, solid drinks, amazing pizzas, no nonsense, no frills, then this is the place for you......and me! So right there, little missy, is my 5-star review on a dive bar :-) You guys rock!

Yelp
There's been a pizza place on this corner for as long as I can remember but I've never been to any of the incarnations till now. Quality Bar came on my radar for their Green River Cocktail for Highball Week. We dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and there were only a couple people sitting at the bar. The bartender took a while to make our drinks, as she was chatting with a few other customers. Service could be better for a cocktail bar, but as a pizza joint with drinks, it will do. On to the food: the Green River cocktail was delicious, a simple and refreshing mix of Maker's Mark, tonic, basil, and lime. We also tried a slice of a vegan pizza with a delicious caramelized onion sauce, marinera, a touch of nutritional yeast. I really liked the slice and drinks. I would come back for happy hour (looks like they have some great deals) or for late night pizza.

Yelp
I felt so safe in this bar considering that they made sure you were fully vaccinated before entering. However, for the people that decide not to, you can still order food and drinks for outside. All of the staff was extremely kind and welcoming. I don't know her name, but the bartender that was wearing overalls that night was so friendly and inviting. She made the entire experience. The pizza was phenomenal. The drinks were great. I also loved the quirky vending machine inside as well. The entire atmosphere was wonderful, and I cannot wait to come back

Yelp
My friend and I wanted to grab a quick drink and snack before our cooking class. We randomly found this place on Yelp and didn't realize it was connected to Sizzle Pie until we got there. We were really excited because we love sizzle pie already and having a bar that sells sizzle pie pizza was a plus! They have happy hour from 4PM to 7PM with the following deals: $5 off large pies $4 off regular pies $3 off breadsticks $3 drafts, wells, house wines, & slices $2 off house cocktails & pitchers We ordered two of their ciders on tap and got a slice of their pepperoni pizza. We didn't realize they had an upstairs until after we ordered when we were trying to find seats. Downstairs was full so when we looped around, we found the upstairs seating area. Definitely will be checking this place out again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Great pizza from Sizzle and drinks. You can't go wrong with that combination. Good service even in the midst of COVID. Give it a try.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
I haven't had the pizza, so I can't quite speak to that other than the menu looked amazing. And they had vegan options which is awesome! We came for drinks which didn't disappoint. The civil war was my favorite by far. Full of whiskey and super Smokey. I loved it. I wish I lived in Portland bc I would probably be a regular here! I will be back each time I'm in town.

Yelp
The weather made me feel like I needed to stop by and check it with my girl friend after our brutal day at work. The bar was not appealing. Service was SoSo...SoSo. Enjoyed the pizza and garlic knots. Beware of the Rose and PickleBack which was interesting! It was a surprise! Do not recommend the House Sangria. It was not the greatest Sangria. Too me it was yucky! Had better Sangria elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Holy goddamn. What a rad place. Metal-themed pizza menu? Yes, please. Awesomely delicious metal-themed pizza? Yes, please. Big beer list? NO, THANKS. Just kidding. Yes, please. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Jalan E.

Yelp
Wow a Moscow Mule but it's not in the copper mug and has NO ginger flavor. Might as well shoot me in the fucking head while you're at it. Enjoy your five stars
google avatar

Rohit T.

Yelp
Hit up this place on an impromptu dinner date with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The ambience inside was subdued with a good amount of music to keep you engaged. Cocktails here are generally on the smaller side. Pizza on the other hand was a highlight for sure! We got a slice of veggie and a slice of meat and both were perfectly cooked. Would come back here again for the pizza!

M C.

Yelp
Use to be great little pub to come to, but now not very friendly, the bartender is super rude. The bartender really needs to work on his customer skills. Not worth going there unless you like being ignored and dealing with a bartender with an attitude.
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
Let it be known: Quality Bar has a cocktail named after Wesley Willis. The "Rock Over London, Rock On Chicago" is a damn tasty whiskey cocktail, but it's also one of the most hilarious in-jokes I've heard in a while. Good job, Quality Bar. "Coming Soon" for over two years now, this tiny little bar is tucked in next to their parent company Sizzle Pie, who serve up the food menu. It's dark, cozy and just my style. The cocktail menu is small but quite well thought out, and everything we sampled was delicious. Its also definitely not cheap, with two drinks + tip being just shy of $30. With an extremely limited capacity and chill vibe, I don't know that I'd ever consider Quality Bar my final destination for an evening out on the town. But they're a great place for a date or possibly to pregame, as Quality Bar will surely serve you up a quality drink (see what I did there?) in a beautiful setting.
google avatar

Brenan G.

Yelp
BOMB PIZZA. SIMPLE BEER MENU. GREAT COCKTAILS. Seriously everything was awesome. It just didn't jump out as "holy shit five star" until I got the bill. $13 for 2 beers, 2 cocktails and a massive piece of pizza. I don't see anything wrong wit this place at all. Everything was about as perfect as it could be. Fyi: this chick Tiffani's review is crazy. I think she's jealous about someone or something because how can you hate anyone that much. Seriously Tiffany and your one star review, go home with that shit, no one likes you anyway.
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Good food, good beer, open late and a great atmosphere! Perfect Portland late night bar. Pizza is great!
google avatar

Chris V.

Yelp
Ironic name for this place. Came in at around 12:30 last Sunday night after a wedding with a group of 12 orderly and well-dressed friends (including the bride in full attire). We were hoping to end the night on a celebratory high note, but instead were treated very rudely at the bar and passively denied service by the two bartenders. I have no idea why they would want turn their nose up at $200+ worth of food and drink orders... The people working here must be motivated by something other than a desire to provide quality (pardon the pun) and impartial service to its patrons. The bartenders made some comment about not wanting to serve us 'bachelor party drinks'. Half of our group was female, but ok. Note to owner/manager: I recommend you check in on your employees' practices, especially if you prefer to maximizing your revenue over recruiting socially unprofessional servers.
google avatar

Sofi L.

Yelp
Great place for a casual happy hour. They have happy hour from 4-6 and they serve pizza from sizzle pie next door! Beers on draft are very reasonably priced, can't say the same for the cocktails. They're quite pricey without the happy hour given the fact that it's not really an upscale bar.
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Really, what's not to like? There is ample seating, great people-watching or nice views from the upstair seats, the drinks are nice, the prices are cheap, and the pizza and salads are among the best in town. I like Sizzle Pie in general but this place has atmosphere, a full bar, and Sizzle Pie so it's a big win.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
Nice bartender, very knowledgeable, and helpful. Good option and if you like the sizzle pie pizza next door, they are nice enough to bring to you in the bar.
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
I was visiting Portland and was excited to see what the nightlife was like here. I came in with a group of friends after a wedding (with the bride and groom in tow!) after they explained that this bar was relatively new, and would be a fun way to cap off the evening. We had our IDs checked (by a surly bouncer) and waited at the bar to order our first round of celebratory drinks. Unfortunately, the bartender made some rude remarks to some of the guys in the group, implying that they didn't want to serve them. I was standing a few stools down at the bar waiting for service as well, and wasn't even acknowledged. Left a poor impression on me, and was a disappointment. I hope they work on their service here, but I don't think I'll be stopping by again.

Joel B.

Yelp
I know that it's difficult to believe but I'm actually 100% sober, my friends and I had dinner at Din Tai Fung and then we RANDOMLY picked Quality Bar as the first bar in Portland to visit... BIG mistake.... security guard A let us in and we ordered drinks and a pizza but then security guard B, pictures below, showed up and BULLIED security guard B into asking/telling us to leave.. this man started cussing at us, using very racist profanity, and just overly aggressive - but we hadn't even started drinking! I hope that a manager responds to this because this mans professionalism is a extremely lacking, especially in such a beautiful place like the city of roses! I am more than happy to meet and discuss this horrific mans performance!

S B.

Yelp
Love it! Cute little bar in the city! Really great staff, pizza available along with your drinks... great place.

Tara W.

Yelp
The bar tender did an excellent job making my amazing cocktail and waited tables inside and outside! The pizza was extremely greasy though.
google avatar

jessica c.

Yelp
I've been next door to sizzle pie before, but didn't realize they had a bar connected to the building right on the other side. The drinks were ok, the vibe is very... portland. A little on the grungy side to be honest, but if that's your thing then you will probably enjoy it. I'm guessing most people come here when they are drunk/drinking and want a slice (which is the state my bf was in) because I don't otherwise know why someone would really want to eat this pizza. The crust is so thin and soaked in grease it's hard to even pick up and eat. There are so many better places to eat pizza in my opinion.
google avatar

Jake I.

Yelp
We ordered our drinks, began walking towards the window bar stools, and the bartender demanded payment prior to our sitting down. It's three o'clock on a Friday, there's hardly anyone in here yet she still decided to profile us as if we we're going to steal our drinks. What a joke -definitely didn't deserve the tip I gave her. -Last visit. I will say that the Sizzle Pie off of lower Burnside rocks. Avoid this location.

Cassandra S.

Yelp
First timers from the Bay Area looking for a upbeat comfortable place to have drinks. Came across the Quality Bar while roaming the downtown area. Amy greeted us with such humble confidence. Her attitude was on point and very attentive. She even created a drink for us. The place started getting busy but Bobby the other bartender kept the conversation super lively and even recommended other neighboring bars. I highly recommend this bar for great drinks and good music. The great art work from local artists is a plus!
google avatar

Captain B.

Yelp
Superb quality and selection of whiskey. Customer service is top notch. Great teamwork among the staff. Nick & Rachel are leaders that sets the example vice demanding compliance. They have the establishment's best interest in heart and are constantly situationally aware of the customers' needs!
google avatar

Matt v.

Yelp
Awesome bar! Its a fun place to grab a beer and eat pizza! The beer selection is good. And the cocktails look good. Its right downtown on burnside, so it is close to everything.

Yelp
Where I come from, naming your place "Quality ____ " (or God-forbid "Qualitee ____") is actually an accepted way of saying "Yeah, our place is trash and we know it." So when I heard "Quality Bar" I assumed there was a wink at the end of that. To my absolute shock this place wasn't kidding. The atmosphere is kind of like...classy dive bar. Modern, but all of the edges are rough and nobody gives. The only thing I can ding them on is I'm not sure how I could have gained control of the sound system. It oscillated between heavy metal and Fleetwood Mac with no transition. I wonder if it's controlled by the jukebox in Sizzle Pie? Eh. You know what? Even the bi-polar soundtrack may be part of the appeal. Connected jukebox or not they take great advantage of the fact that Sizzle Pie is their neighbor and/or parent company for some strange alcohol laws I'm sure I don't understand and/or respect. It actually reminds me of Pinky's on the other side of the river in that there's built-in access to quality pizza while you're getting trashed. Speaking of, their happy hour between 4-7 is crazy generous. Downtown Portland I got 4 mixed drinks (not all well either!) and got a bill for $21.00 I know what you're thinking and yes, I checked the bill again once I sobered up too. Much like you should check out Quality Bar the next time you find yourself in danger of being sober.
google avatar

Brie B.

Yelp
Like everything else in Portland, it's overrated. I just wanted a glass of wine and a slice -- preferably Hawaiian. Of course, they weren't doing Hawaiian by the slice so I had to get something with some feta, peppers (yuck), and some other crap. (They did sprinkle some pineapple on the slice; I'll give them that.) The place was too loud, there was bad music, and after a certain hour (11:00?), they break out the security so people have to stand in line for PIZZA AND DRINKS. Insanity. This isn't NYC or LA. It's Portland; not a special snowflake. Save your money and your sanity, and go somewhere else that doesn't make you go through security.
google avatar

Ray D.

Yelp
The cocktails are great, through the looking glass. There's just enough flash and substance to fulfill your late night cocktail needs, but that's what you'd expect, right? The vegan pizza WITH the cocktails, though? That's why you come here, because, let me tell you, a smoky mezcal base cocktail does wonders with a vegan pizza. Alone, they're competent. Decent, though maybe not fare to compare with peak times. Together, though? It's synergy, as all the suit-clad white collared guys (don't worry, most of the bar still sports neck tats and full sleeves) sitting at the corner will tell you.
google avatar

Jeannette C.

Yelp
So I initially started with four stars. But we split a slice had a cocktail and two beers and our bill was a whopping $13 for happy hour. That instantly moves Quality up to 5 stars. You definitely get your money's worth here. Honestly if you want a slice... Or 10. Come here. We had the heavenly slice with mini pepperoni and jalapeño. Seriously BOMB. The atmosphere is a solid 4 but for those prices...who friggin cares. As for Tiffanys review... don't be a hater! It's obvious someone here banged your man and you're being vindictive. Let go have a slice and move on.

Rachel A.

Yelp
Unimpressed. We were craving some late night pizza and actually planned on visiting Sizzle Pie which is next door- but opted for here as we decided to grab beers as well. We sat ourselves at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. We ordered 2 beers- I had the Reverend Nat's cider which I'd compare to apple juice so "eh" for a beer. We noticed there was seating on an upper level so we ordered our 2 slices of pizza and headed upstairs to grab a table- it's a "seat yourself" environment. The pizza slices were colossal but not good at all. They tasted stale, lacked seasoning/ flavor any sort of taste honestly. It tasted like a pizza that had been sitting out and was popped in a microwave upon order. Disappointed in this place- 2 stars only because the bartender was nice and service was quick--otherwise 1.
google avatar

Catherine O.

Yelp
This bar is located directly behind Sizzle Pie. When we got to the restaurant, it was packed and a bit overwhelming. We decided to look at the bar right next to without knowing the two are connected. The bar was almost empty and there were more beers on tap! 2 slices of thin crust pizza and 2 beers were $12! This quick afternoon snack satisfied our needs and our budget. Friendly service and clean restrooms are a plus in Portland.

Yelp
This was the best drink I think I've ever had. Photo does not do it justice. The Riotgrrl. Mescal and a bunch of citrus beauty. Dang, mang. Thanks to bartender Jordyn for being such a rad babe!

Yelp
This is one of those spots you enjoy so much, you think you've already posted a glowing review. NOPE! Onward. I enjoyed Sizzle Pie on SW Burnside, but the lush in me always wished they had liquor available. Well, they remedied that. Welcome to Quality Bar. It's cozy, I can order pizza and whiskey after midnight (my life is sorted, y'all), and the girls behind the bar are always welcoming and remembered me only after coming in a few times. I guess cute girls remember cute girls. YAY. This place is my sneaky little stop after I close my restaurant down. Don't talk to me, I'm busy shoveling pizza into my mouth.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
Here at "Quality" bar. Not so much. I'm a server and its rare I do a negative review. Came here, it's not busy, sat at a table and the bartender yelled for us to bring her our IDs to her at the bar....... Can't even come out from behind the bar, do a decent greeting then take our order. Our group of 5 ordered 2 beers and going somewhere else. Not a fan of lazyness.

Yelp
This was the 5th bar I went to on a Saturday night. Bartender was super nice and my friend and I were already buzzed. The pizza was good and so were the drinks. I would recommend this place to any of my friends visiting Portland.
