Try the chicken. No, really.
We moved to Roslindale a month or so ago, and after going to the Village Market a few times, realized why so many meat markets and bakeries were around the Village...
Anyway, I went into QMM one Saturday afternoon, and was greeted by a super nice guy behind the counter. I ask how much for a whole chicken. "Seven, seven-fifty," he replies. Sounds good, so I order one.
He goes out back, and comes back holding a fresh chicken. He holds it up for me to review. It was smaller than what you'd get in the Village Market or Stop & Shop, but that's because this was a local, all-natural bird. I nodded in acceptance. He offered to quarter the chicken, but i declined. I payed the man and walked out.
My fiancée roasted the hen that night, and it was fantastic. This is totally my go-to meat market now.
