Open since 1953 this stalwart shop offers fresh fish & seafood plus meals to eat in the picnic area.
"Quality Seafood might have the widest selection of seafood in Los Angeles. This multilevel spot occupies what feels like six miles of the Redondo Beach Pier (it’s probably more like a block). They carry local options like line-caught rock cod, snapper, and grouper, along with a ton of much harder-to-find options like steamers, live blue crab, and red sea urchin. You can order online, or just do what we do and wander around the market without a plan until something catches your eye." - brett keating
"Quality Seafood is a massive, two-story restaurant on the Redondo Pier filled with tanks of live shellfish, lobsters, crabs, and fish. This is the kind of build-your-own meal we fully endorse, where you pick your seafood and decide whether you want it roasted, steamed, or fried. We love ordering the steamed Dungeness crab and fried calamari, and then finding a seat on one of their massive ocean-adjacent patios." - brant cox

This is the kind of build-your-own meal we fully endorse where you pick your seafood and decide whether you want it roasted, steamed, or fried. Between the tourists and the kill-or-be-killed seating situation, it is a process to eat here. But order the Dungeness crab (steamed), calamari (fried), or whole snapper (roasted) and you’ll be handsomely rewarded. " - brant cox, sylvio martins
"“I love venturing to the South Bay area for a less-crowded beach option, and Quality Seafood in Redondo Beach is a great seafood spot. I’ve been going there for years for [their seafood market] and snacks. First, you can grab a bite to eat from their restaurant on the pier and sit at the little picnic benches outside. They have something for everyone—fried seafood, raw oysters, whole steamed crab, you name it. Then, before heading back home, I usually grab some fresh seafood to prepare at home, too. It’s a two birds, one stone kind of place, and we love it.”" - brennan carley
"One of Los Angeles’s oldest restaurants happens to serve some of the freshest seafood on the Redondo Beach boardwalk. Quality Seafood’s offerings provide something for all — think New England-style clam chowder, ceviches, salmon poke, fried and grilled fish tacos, fresh oysters, and a lobster clam bake for two. Beers are also served from tap." - Rebecca Roland, Eater Staff
