Quán Ngon Vietnamese Bistro

Quán Ngon serves good food. We ordered a #7 Bánh xèo, #20 Phở Dặc Biệt, and #40 Cơm tấm Sườn Thập cẩm. The Bánh xèo is prepared crispy with lots of herbs. We enjoyed it. The Phở and Cơm tấm were unusally good as well. The servers were very proud of their work and courteous. The dining room is filled with good mood music. The only downside is that the temperature is a bit cold in winter. We would dine here again.

Best pho I’ve ever had with fast and friendly service. I’m pregnant and I asked them to pre cook the meat for me and the server had no problem accommodating me and even suggested I have the bean sprouts cooked too which I was so happy about because I usually just don’t eat them! It’s a little pricey, I spent 26 dollars on a meal and Thai iced tea for myself but definitely worth it and left more than satisfied and with leftovers for later. My go to spot!!

Not surprised that they had less vegetarian options. But the price was high for the vegetarian dish is surprising. Service was good.

Best PHO in metro Detroit. I’m from California, and have tried a lot of good food luckily!! This PHO is healing, hearty, and a great amount of food for the price. I cannot say how many times this pho has pulled my stomach out of the trenches from the flu or an IBS flare up. The ladies that help the customers are always so kind and generous. The dine in area is gorgeous as well. Can’t recommend many other places so highly. Truly fortunate to have tried their food and to keep coming back. Thank you Quan Ngon !!!!

I decided to be adventurous and try something new. 77. Bun bo Hu. It was the best thing I ever ate. Lemongrassy, light and perfectly seasoned. 10/10. Will be back to make my way through their menu.

The staff was so kind and the huge smiles made a cold day seem warmer. The pho was incredible, with all of the ingredients cut cleanly and portioned well. I don't really like coconut, but the coconut shrimp and that mango sauce had us playing rock paper scissors for the final pieces!

I was recommended this place a year ago and it’s the BEST Vietnamese food around. I need to make my way through their menu but everything I have ever tried is like a warm hug. Such delicious food, coffee, and such a kind staff. Only downside is that they’re so far away from me, but it’s worth the drive every single time!!

WHERE HAVE I BEEN!!! I should have been at Quan Ngon everyday since moving to the east side. I am always craving Vietnamese food, especially more niche dishes like canh bun that not a lot of places have. But then I finally enter Quan Ngon and not only is their menu so diverse, it TASTES AMAZING! I absolutely can't wait to go back. Free parking, the space is really big, lots of seating for larger parties, and the service was super fast. I was such a happy cat just enjoying the vibe and my soup. Can't wait to go back and literally get everything else on the menu!

First customers of the day, was told to grab seat anywhere. After reviewing the menu, went with the following: - #2: Goi Cuon Tom (shrimp fresh rolls) - #7: Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Crepe) - #22: Pho Tai (pho with sliced beef) - #35: Com Chien Suon Nuong - grilled chicken with noodles Interior was your typical Asian restaurant feel, nothing too special. The summer roll was decent, had better at other locations. The Bahn Xeo was my favorite, not too many places serve this, so it was nice to see it on the menu. Exterior was super crispy, went perfectly nicely with the sauce and the lettuce. However, I wish they also served it with summer wraps. The pho was decent, the broth was bit light, reminded me of Korean kalbi tang broth minus the pho seasoning :) Staff were friendly and great service.

I heard Quan Ngon currently has the best pho in Madison Heights, so my friend and I stopped by for dinner yesterday, which was perfect since it was cold and rainy. We ordered pretty quickly and our food was brought to us within 5-10 minutes. PHO DAC BIET - 16 The broth is on the lighter side (flavor and color) and is pretty clean. Upon first sip, the broth was decent. They give you a good amount of meat here (and with pho dac biet, you get the usual five cuts). After awhile, I found that the broth was too salty since I started drinking a lot more water than usual. I wasn't very hungry, so I didn't finish about half of my noodles and broth. Overall, it was OK. Good service and the interior is spacious and clean. The pho wasn't spectacular, but better than a few other pho restaurants in the area.

Haven't seen a restaurant that had the Vietnamese crepe on their menu so I had to try. It was really good and the dipping sauce had a little kick to it. The service was pretty fast and the waitress was very nice and attentive.

My friend and I were craving appetizers and decided to stop by here. It was my first time trying this restaurant but my friend likes to order her banhmi here for lunch/dinner sometimes. We got a plate of beef spring rolls, two orders of egg rolls, and a beef banhmi. The ladies working here were friendly. Food came out nice and hot. I'm usually not a big fan of the Vietnamese spring rolls but the beef spring roll was super tasty. Hard to go wrong with egg rolls. And the banhmi was packed with ingredients. I'll definitely try out the pho next time. Lots of seatings! We went during a not so busy time so we were able to sit wherever we wanted. Clean atmosphere. Spacious parking lot. Will certainly return to try more of their food!

Favorite Vietnamese restaurant, bit of a drive for me but so worth it. Always bringing family and friends who have never been. Restaurant and bathrooms are always super clean, staff is super friendly and helpful explaining dishes, and dish presentation is beautiful.

Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The appetizer of coconut shrimp with mango dipping sauce was the best I've ever had; the fry on the shrimp was clean and the coconut really came through. The deconstructed Bahn Mi entree came with steaming hot baguette on the side of a plate featuring chicken patty, skirt steak, pate, sunnyside egg and a side of pickled vegetables and herbs. Deliciious! My companion had a quarter braised chicken with "flavor rice," which we assumed was a rice cooked in broth and spices, and a side of pickled cabbage and herbs. Also fantastic. The Vietnamese crepe appetizer was huge, and full of perfectly steamed veg, served with two kinds of fresh mint and basil with pickled carrot and a sweet and sour dipping sauce. We will make this place a "go-to" on the regular because it was so affordable and the service was friendly and professional.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Metro Detroit. Great selection and some distinctive dishes I don't find on the menu at other local places. Good service, as well. Surprised only a 3.9 rating. I know my VN food and this deserves to be marked up a good bit.

We visited Quan Ngon on a Sunday morning and were super surprised at how crowded the restaurant was. It took us about 20 minutes to get a table - any wait at all is pretty rare around these parts! But after eating, we saw why Quan Ngon is so popular. We ordered a couple of items: Banh Xeo ($13) - Filled with shrimp, pork belly and bean sprouts. Not that flavorful by itself, really needs the nuoc cham (good umami savory taste, not especially spicy). The banh xeo itself is quite oily and by the time it got to us, the middle portion with most of the bean sprouts was already soggy. There were only 2 pieces of lettuce to wrap things in so you pretty much had to eat this with fork and knife. Served with perilla leaf and pickled carrots. Bun Bo Hue ($16) - Very slightly spicy, sour, savory soup, filled with thick, perfectly cooked and bouncy rice noodles, and a variety of meats. There was definitely more meat than I expected - quite a number of slices of beef, a slice of cha lua pork sausage, a pork knuckle, and a knob of pork blood. The noodle soup came with a good amount of shredded cabbage and bean sprouts to add to the broth. The broth is a lot less red than what I've seen in the past and could definitely use some more spiciness. It's still a good dish, one that I would get again for sure. Com Tam Suon, Thap Cam ($16) - Egg meatloaf - like a much better frittata. Good balanced taste between egg, pork, and shrimp, and properly salted. Chicken patty - this is like a huge burst of flavor in your mouth. Probably the best thing on the place. Grilled pork chop - good char from the grill, properly seasoned, good flavor. And the shredded pork skin that's always a favorite of mine. This dish has a good variety of ingredients to go with the rice. It comes as usual with a side of broth to drink. This one was kind of strange it was very savory umami at first but got sweeter and sweeter as it cooled down. The last sips were way too sweet and kind of tasted like a dessert soup. Quan Ngon is a nice place to get good Vietnamese food.

Service was friendly and food was decent. I got their bun Bo hue, bahn xeo, bahn mi, and beef stew with noodles. Bun Bo hue very low 3/5 Basic flavors were barely there so on the bland side. Flavors should be more rich considering what the dish is. Decent portions though. Bahn xeo high 3/5 Large l, filled, and crispy. The contents in the bahn xeo were lacking a bit in proportion though. I would get it again though as it was still good. Bahn mi 4/5 Was a great sized bahn mi to pair with a dish. It was filled and the contents were good and balanced decently. Beef stew 3/5 Flavor kind of threw me off from the start as it doesn't taste like a traditional beef stew but considering that it was a decent noodle dish. But I couldn't get what flavor I was tasting from it.

I ordered Banh Mi Xiu Mai (deconstructed #126). I think its not mentioned very much in reviews but everything was done to perfection, with the pink xiu mai patty being delicious. Theres soy sauce on the table too. The steak was tender, with moderate fat, and everything was cooked well done. The portion is quite big with two banh mi plains to dip/assemble. I got absolutely packed just eating what was on the hot sizzling served pan. Only thing I can deduct from the magical dish is how much oil used, but for a treat this is delicious and protein packed! I think they were short on staff so we waited a bit for the menu's at our tables but staff was very nice with even hot water on a cold day! Food was served very quick on after ordering, with precise timing with the menu's. Overall a good service experience, and Im just happy food was quick! The interior is very well lit and decorated to a clean sweep, by no means is it ran down. Amazing lighted atmosphere but not overdone with lights keeping great ambiance for family gatherings or just a date would go amazing too! I'd say prices are pretty good for the big portions given.

We were looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant. This place was recommended by a friend, and we decided to try it out. We came in on a Saturday afternoon for an early lunch. We were seated right away as the place was empty (by the time we left, it started to get packed). We ordered two Pho bowls because it was cold, and I was pregnant and needed something warm and hearty. The restaurant inside is clean and nice. I love the décor and the open space. The bathroom was clean and well kept. The food came right away, I was taken by the huge bowl we got. My mouth started to water as soon as I smelled the broth. The first sip of the broth did not disappoint. Everything was so good. I ordered extra protein to add to my bowl and the portions were fair. The vegetables were fresh, clean and enough for all the food. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and they didn't get soggy as they sat in the hot broth later. Overall, one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. I will be back again and try their other dishes.

One of our favorites for Vietnamese food. The PHO and pork in this place is delicious. The atmosphere is nicer than many of the other local Vietnamese places too!

I had heard ahead of time that the pho here is amazing, so I really wanted to check it out. My girlfriend ordered the Pho Dac Biet and I ordered the Hủ Tiếu Bò Kho and a Vietnamese iced coffee. We also got the Bánh Xèo without pork as an appetizer. The appetizer was amazing and great to split with someone. I thought the broth in the pho was super flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The only think I didn't love was that the beef had a lot of fat, but I think that comes down to personal preference. The portions were large enough for me to get a second meal out of it with the leftovers. The iced coffee was also really good. There's plenty of seating inside and there was a lot of space when we went.

Love their bánh xèo, bò tái chanh, canh bún. Ordered a small tray of bo tai chanh for Christmas party , they gave a lot of food and very delicious, all my guests love it

----WARNING----- I found a rat or mouse tail in the soup! DISGUSTING!!! I called the health department. Stay away from this place.

Very disappointed!!! Your word is your word. I'm in Michigan a lot for work so I really rely on Google or reviews to help find some places to try. It's kinda all I got in hopes for places. Driving to this restaurant I was super nervous about the way the food would taste or the atmosphere of the restaurant because it looks like it's in a really ran down part of town. I still like to give places a chance though but I was sadly mistaken on dinner this evening as they closed an hour and 15 mins early today. It's even sadder when while writing this review two other cars pull in for this restaurant and see they are closed. I can't comment on the food or the atmosphere as I did not get to experience any of that. The advice I have to the owners is to change your times of when yall are open if you can't stay open till 8pm then change it. But when you advertise when you're open, and it doesn't actually match up when you are open, your word becomes nothing. Looks like I'm taking my business back to Got Pho. Which I had them last night and they were amazing.

Bun Bo Hue is dank (urban dictionary). Great service, clean place, loved the food. A lot of competition in the area, but can't go wrong with this place!

Lovely atmosphere for dining with an extensive menu! I sampled one of the popular banh mis with pork cake and pate, (which was new to me) as well as the traditional pho soup. Everything seemed meticulously prepared with fresh ingredients. It all tasted delicious! I can't wait to go back and try the bun!

My sister does a great job finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants. This was located in a strip. Very unassuming from the road. We got pho, banh mi, and bunh. We also shared a Vietnamese crepe. Very delicious and filling! I've had the crepe before but at another restaurant and it y that great. I was impressed with this one! Portions were generous. I couldn't finish my bunh. Can't wait to come back! Woohoo!!

Started off with the crispy chicken spring rolls, chicken Pho and the grilled chicken fried rice. The place is bigger than it looks and it's new so interior still looks good. The grilled chicken is tasty and big here. My chicken pho is full of big pieces of white chicken breast. They give me a plate with beans sprouts, jalapeño, lime and Thai basil. It would've been nice to get some cilantro too. I do like cilantro in my Pho soup, along with basil. We have not been asked once if our food was OK since ordering and receiving our food items yet. I want to ask for more basil and cilantro. I had to go ask up front. We waited for our bill, we were told we had to pay at the front and they would give us the bill. The bill was $27.27 for our grilled chicken, chicken pho and chicken spring roll. It interesting that I didn't see one Vietnamese staff member working the front, register or bussing at all. Well done. The food was good nonetheless. My only concern was that the ladies waiting the tables didn't seem so friendly and the meat in my chicken had some gristly and tendons on some of the pieces. It's not pleasant or easy to cut that off and take out the meat to do so, before consumption. Sriracha and hoisin make the Pho soup for me, all of the veggies, cilantro, lime juice and the meat all play an important part in the overall appeal of this soup. It's such a great soup and food for cold and wet weather.

I know, I know; there's more to Vietnamese food then Pho, fresh rolls, and grilled pork chops, but why fix what ain't broke? I love all three staples and can usually tell a lot about a Vietnamese joint off those three things. So that's what we did, got all three to feel Quan Ngon out and here's what I thought... Grilled beef fresh rolls: I was assuming the grilled beef was going to be... grilled beef. Rather it was more like a sliced sausage, which still tasted good but I can't imagine it being better than a grilled piece of beef. Standard fillings including a fried egg roll wrapper inside which added a nice crunch. Came with a sauce that I did not use, rather sticking to the salty sweet fish sauce that came with my grilled pork. Pho with brisket, beef slices: my brother got the #24 and he found the broth sweet and herbaceous. Not one of his favorite broths in the area but it served its purpose. Ample amounts of noodle and beef will leave you fully satisfied. Grilled double pork chop over fried rice: it's a full on meal when it comes to this plate! Comes with trwo chops, fried rice, sunny side up egg, pickled veggies, lettuce, tomatoes, dipping sauce, aaannnddd a cup of broth. I found the chops to be a bit thin and dry, though still very tasty from the charring on the grill. The fried rice was a real highlight, as I usually just get white rice. I've been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the Warren/Madison Heights area, and I mean there's a lot! While this place doesn't suck, Quan Ngon also don't reach the pantheon of Vietnamese Restaurants in this area. As for me, my favorite is of all-time is still Little Saigon. Unbeatable broth, and gargantuan beef and pork chops. But that's another review for another time...

Great place! Good service. I really enjoyed the food. I also love that they have soups with thick rice noodles because those are my favorite. I got a beef stew with carrot and a coconut water it was very good.

Such delicious food. Well balanced flavors blended perfectly. The staff is super friendly and had great recommendations for us. I can't wait to go back and try more!

The broth for the pho was phenomenal! So tasty and rich. I couldn't help but steal a taste from my husband. I got the hot plate beef banh mi that comes deconstructed. The baguette came out fresh and everything was so good. Only took one star away because no one came to refill waters or check on us much. When we finished eating, we had to go up to the counter to pay for our food before leaving.

Got a Banh Mi sandwhich last week and got food poisoning!! I know for a fact that it was from here! Customer service is horrible and now I wish I could tell every single person that goes here to not go here anymore!

Nice place. But the sign doesn't live up to the flavor of the broth & noodles. Chicken Phó- the basic of al Pho's...broth lacked that good flavor at other places in town. It was below average on the flavor scale. Like i said it was just ok. The Restaurant it self is nice.

This is my actual favorite restaurant. I love the workers the food. They make you feel like family. I always feel good eating here with friend and family. The ambience is amazing!

So thankful for yelpers posting a pic of #42. I have been looking for this dish ever since I got to Michigan. You would think out of all the pho place in MH, this dish should be a staple but it's not. No matter, because I finally found this place that has it. Bale Valley has the best broasted chicken in SFV, but this is the next best location in Michigan anyways. The chicken is juicy and full of flavor. Along with the chicken, comes rice with egg-which is different and delicious! Also got a #55 with egg noodles. Not spicy at all but healthy and delicious. Only meh thing about the place is the service is a bit slow. Can't wait to come back!

Best ban mi in michigan!!!! I recommend 120!!! Freshest bread, crisp veggies, and the bbq pork is soooo tasty!

Lemongrass grilled pork and beef rice plates -9/10 Oxtail pho- rich broth, wish they led the broth shine a little bit more and use bit less chicken stock, but second best broth in Detroit, after Little Saigon 8/10 Vietnamese coffee- perfect coffee brewed with traditional Robusta Beans which pack a richer flavor, (western coffee shops use Arabica) 10/10

Even though there are so many great options for Vietnamese cuisine in Madison Heights, I always find myself back here. The staff is always friendly and extremely attentive to your service. My usual favorites include: Shrimp Fresh Rolls, Banh Mi Sandwich, Bun Thit Nuong, and the Pho!

Our favorite pho restaurant was closed when we went out for dinner on a Tuesday night, and this was in the same plaza so we decided to try eating here. Inside, the ambience was nice. It looked clean. It certainly looks a lot better than our usual pho restaurant. We ordered our usual favorite dishes so we can compare it to the other restaurant. The presentation of the food looked nice. The dishes they used looked better since i guess because they call this a bistro. The broth for our pho was good. The only thing is that it's a couple of dollars more expensive than the other pho place we go to. But i guess you pay for the ambience :)

Super clean! The food is great! Customer service is good! Lots of variety. Over the last 20 some years, I've tried a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this one is a great and safe location. No surprises and they have tons of item to choose from. I always switch it up when I get there. Tbh I usually hear towards their noodle dishes! 73 hieu tieu kho is my fav!

The pho here as well as the grilled pork chop with fried rice is one of the best in the area. The young lady who usually helps during the weekdays is very helpful even when I ask to have my chops sliced for me she made it happen. Will definitely return

After traveling to Vietnam pre-COVID, my family and I have fallen in love with Vietnamese food. Our usual go to was not open, so we tried this place as a substitute. Everyone in our party loved it. I ordered the vegetable pho and it was delicious! I didn't even miss the beef that I usually order! I would definitely recommend a visit here!

Wife always asked to come here. Everyone we pass by we always had other plans. So decided to come today. Not what I expected at all. Walked in -floor was dirty just by looking around the restaurant. Was seated to our table. -I had trash on the floor of the table(used chopsticks / wrappers) -table was wet, menus were stuck to the table because it was wet. 2 Smoothes took more than 20 minutes to arrive. They did not have avocado so we had to order something else Wife did not like that food was taking way longer than usual viet restaurants. And said she will no longer come back. Was going to mix some chilli oil but was low-empty. Other than that food was 8/10

Our number 1 choice for Vietnamese food. They have such variety of soups in addition to pho, and all are great! Recommend the bahn xeo appetizer.

The last time we were here was about a year ago I believe so we finally got around to coming here again, especially since we were craving banh mi. There isn't a lot of banh mi places near me unfortunately. We drove about 30+ minutes for this haha. Staff wise was a little slow but oh wells, as long as we get our food. I was a bit sad about how thin they sliced our cha lua. It was way too thin hah. The new nuong was great though. That kind of makes up for it slightly! Still enjoyed the food. Rating is more of a 4.8 than a 4!

This place wasn't even thought about when going out for Vietnamese. We decided to try it after pulling into the parking lot to go somewhere else. The place is pretty clean and service is good. Based on the menu, it appears they are trying to hip-up dishes compared to traditional dishes from their rivals. OK we will play along. We ordered Bahn-MI sliders, and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, which is cold noodle dish with a sweet vinegar, peanuts, mint, pork and spring roll cut up. We also wanted to give the coconut shrimp appetizer a try. The shrimp is really good but does have more of an Outback Steakhouse feel vs traditional Vietnamese but reasonably priced and good. The sliders were fun but lacked the awesome crusty French bread that is part of the entire Bahn-MI experience. Maybe next time, I'll just order a Bahn-MI. They have many to choose from. The Bun Thit came out and was a bit fancier than I prefer. I like a big bowl and to get messy, this didn't allow for this. It was tasty but not a future go to item. Overall a decent option.

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Metro Detroit. We are regulars here and will continue to support this business. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and you can get certain dishes that other Vietnamese restaurants don't offer. One of the few that makes banh xeo (not pictured) and hu tieu kho (usually a noodle soul but this one is served broth-less). The food is always pretty good and tasty.

I come here for lunch once a while. Service always quick even during lunch hours. All the pho and noddle dish are good. The egg roll and rice rolls are good appetizers. I wish they give more food for the price. You can always find seating inside the restaurant. Service is ok but I never stay that long to care.

This place is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the city. I moved here from Los Angeles 5 years ago and I've been looking for a good pho place AND THIS IS IT!!! The food is amazing esp the #91. It's a pork party spring roll. If you don't want that much, you can find that they have a smaller size (just order #5). I only gave them 4 stars because of the service. It's very inconsistent. There are days when we get extraordinary service and then we get days where they didn't check on us until the check is presented. It is getting better though with the new staff they've hired. You would just need to appreciate the food and forget about the service...

My dad is a chef and used to frequent this place often for lunch. I visited this place recently on a Sunday around 2PM and it was packed with Vietnamese people so that's another really good sign that this place is worth going to. The place is super clean and definitely perfect for date nights. Loved everything about the pho and rice dishes here. For the pho, the broth was clear and flavorful and the bean sprouts showed no signs of wilting or bruising. Of course the meat choices were delicious.
