Quartz Reef Wines Cellar Door

We had a super wonderful cellar door, can highly recommend stopping by Quartz Reef to try the interesting and yummy wines! I get the sense operating a cellar door generally runs at a loss for most wineries, but Elaine was generous with her time and also showed us the warehouse where they age their champagne method sparkling wine which was very cool to see!

Natalie from Roaring Tours bought us to Your Tasting Room in Cromwell and thank goodness she did, we had a lovely experience with great wines and wonderful service from Elaine. The Sparkling Brut was outstanding!

Quartz Reef Wines tasting room may not have the outside glamour look of a vine yard but as they say: "do not judge a book by its cover". Very nice ambiance inside and a very welcoming passionate host. For me it where their bubbles or maybe more appropriate their Bendigo Estate Methode Traditionelle. Awesome! One bottle made it all the way back with us to Kuala Lumpur. Cheers.

My favourite wine brand by far. Delicious wine, lovely people and really fun to work with over the years! Went down an absolute storm at our wedding this year and I imagine it will be a favourite for years to come. I also recommend it to my nutrition clients as a delicious Central Otago drop that's organic, biodynamic and has very low residual sugar. If you haven't tried it already I highly recommend it 🥂

Quartz Reef (in my mind at least), has been and always will be one of the best wine producers in the Central Otago region. Yes, yes I know that's a big statement to put out there, but credit where credit is due. Their wines are simply put, delicious. The staff on site are exceptional and of course the lead wine maker Rudi has a passion for his work that is simply unparalleled. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for a wine experience in Cromwell to drop in to their tasting rooms, talk to the staff and sample the wines. You will not be dissapointed.

Amazing wine tasting with Anne. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining! The wine is the best we tasted in the region and Anne made it a lovely experience.

Our favourite of all the wines we’ve tasted in the area, and our visit with Anne did not disappoint. Delicious and interesting wines, and well worth a visit here.

We initially thought Quartz Reef winery was not much to look at. But gee were we wrong! They went above and beyond to give us an unbooked tour of their bottles and a tasting in their awesome Reidel glasses. And their sparkling is to die for. Do it!!!!
